Easter Hymn (in answer to A.E. Housman)

Where on that hill of Calvary ages ago you were slain
You died there to quench man’s pain,
although still your bright light
shines down in every day and every dark night
some men still walk in sin
as they did by choice from the very begin.

Although the grave is empty and the stone rolled by
and You are the creator God, sitting in glory up high,
there You remember the savagery of man
the tears, agony and blood of your salvation plan,
the way you were crucified, the way you gave your life
and in sincerity still gives man a choice in this almost endless strive.

Creator And Savior

God not only is our Creator, He, in Christ, is a wonderful Savior,
The Creator of all we can see, came down to earth from Eternity.
Christ came to die upon a cross, to be the Savior of all the lost,
And with God’s price for sin paid, in a grave, His body was laid.

The Creator became a sacrifice, paying for us the ultimate price,
Then He rose in victory over sin, creating for all New Life in Him.
For God’s Own Chosen Lamb, Jesus Christ, is The Great “I Am”.
Existent prior to creating man, then chosen to finish God’s plan.

God’s Plan to redeem creation, all through our Lord’s Salvation,
A salvation that is offered to none, apart from belief in His Son,
God’s Only Son, Jesus Christ, sent to the earth to offer His life,
As God’s ransom, sent for all, to redeem man from Adam’s fall.

The Lord and Creator of men, was sent to save the condemned,
Condemned from the sin of one, and saved by God’s Own Son.
Reconciled to God up above, by the action of our Savior’s love,
All sinners offered life eternally, from that blood spilt at Calvary.

The Creator, both pure and just, condemned all to return to dust,
Separated from God Eternally, apart, from the Blood of Calvary,
Blood spilled from Christ’s side, as on the cross, for all He died,
As He faced death with its strife, to gain for sinners, Eternal Life.

Our Mission

Our mission from the very start, was placed upon the Church’s heart,
This, to go into all the world, with Christ’s message, for all to herald.
Just one message for every nation, proclaiming God’s one salvation,
All sent forth, by God’s own Son, who died on Calvary for everyone.

Forty days after Christ rose again, He charged them to reach all men,
With the Good News of why He died; now seated at His Father’s side.
Jesus Christ died to be a propitiation, One who died for every nation,
Satisfying God’s Righteous wrath, and opening for us an eternal path.

Christ was indeed The Lamb of God, sent to save us from God’s rod,
Sent to us to be God’s sacrifice, paying for sinners the ultimate price.
Christ’s Righteous life hung on a tree, and slain to set all sinners free,
The Creator of the entire universe, upon a tree, became for us a curse.

Lord and Creator, Jesus Christ, came to be a substitutionary sacrifice,
For the Eternal Lord and Creator, came down to earth to be our Savior.
When at Calvary, God placed on Him, that penalty required for our sin,
And forsaken by His Father above, when on that cross He died in love.

This Gospel is what men proclaim, through the power of Christ’s Name.
God’s mission started in Jerusalem, while pointing to that time to come,
When Christ shall Reign upon that Hill, thus, fulfilling God’s Eternal Will,
And Peace will rule every nation, which comes to God for His Salvation.

Sooner Than Later

At times, sooner than later, my friend, The Lord God will,
As The Sovereign Creator, His purpose in our lives fulfill,
Tying all back by the Savior, to the time on Calvary’s Hill,
When He forgave our behavior, as His blood men spilled.

It was God’s appointed time, in which Christ was crucified,
And the Father’s will and design, that Jesus bled and died,
Sins forgiven; yours and mine, no believer shall be denied,
Dying at that appointed time, “It is finished” our Lord cried.

From the cross to the grave, into the tomb Christ was laid,
In His death men were saved, as the price of sin was paid,
Into the world so depraved, by Him redemption was made,
And a way to Glory was paved, for His own, shall not fade.

From the grave into the sky; now at the Father’s right hand,
On a glorious throne on high, now reigning over every land,
Soon to return for you and I, in the rapture He has planned,
Then in view of every eye, on the earth, He again will stand.

In God’s time, all done for us, worldly men, lost in their sin,
For this sin, God will and must, judge this earth, all by Him,
Though we are all but dust, if we turn before He does begin,
And In Him, we put our trust, by His power, we eternally win.

Shadow of The Cross

In the shadow of Christ’s cross, is every soul and sinner lost,
Every soul upon God’s earth, with sin tainting their own worth,
With His light put on all pride; the reason why Christ had died,
Carrying out His Father’s will, when lifted high on Calvary’s hill,
Lifted up for all men to see, was Christ the Lord of all Eternity.

He was nailed up to pay the cost, of all the sin of sinners lost,
Lifted high as God’s Sacrifice, to pay for man an eternal price,
From on that cross at Calvary, blood did flow for you and me,
Blood of the Spotless Lamb, to pay the penalty of sinful man,
Worthy to atone for all, but one; Jesus Christ, God’s only Son.

From that cross to the grave, for all of those God would save,
Through faith in God’s Son, the Savior who died for everyone,
Now lifted high for all of us, the One in whom today men trust,
Seated upon His Eternal Throne, interceding for all of His own,
Men who at the cross believed, from Him, eternal life received.

Now all whom God did save, enter into eternal life, not a grave,
Truly saved by God’s Sacrifice, to be with His Son in Paradise,
Freed from sin’s eternal penalty, through the love from Calvary,
Fully cleansed in Calvary’s tide; blood out of our Savior’s side,
Purged of all our sinful dross, while in the shadow of the cross.

Today... 'The Holy One

The Holy One came from God
and the paths of earth He trod.
Climbing Calvary's Hill
He died to fulfil God's will.

And those He came to save
rolled the stone over His grave.
But He did not see decay
and rose up on the third day.

The Holy One from God
The pathway to Glory trod.
Triumphantly ascending
all other men transcending.

The Welsh Marches

High the vanes of Shrewsbury gleam
Islanded in Severn stream;
The bridges from the steepled crest
Cross the water east and west.

The flag of morn in conqueror's state
Enters at the English gate:
The vanquished eve, as night prevails,
Bleeds upon the road to Wales.

Ages since the vanquished bled
Round my mother's marriage-bed;
There the ravens feasted far
About the open house of war:

When Severn down to Buildwas ran
Coloured with the death of man,
Couched upon her brother's grave
That Saxon got me on the slave.

The sound of fight is silent long
That began the ancient wrong;
Long the voice of tears is still
That wept of old the endless ill.

In my heart it has not died,
The war that sleeps on Severn side;
They cease not fighting, east and west,
On the marches of my breat.

Here the truceless armies yet
Trample, rolled in blood and sweat;
They kill and kill and never die;
And I think that each is I.

None will part us, none undo
The knot that makes one flesh of two,
Sick with hatred, sick with pain,
Strangling-- When shall we be slain?

When shall I be dead and rid
Of the wrong my father did?
How long, how long, till spade and hearse
Puts to sleep my mother's curse?

Clear Vibrant Stars

I watch listen to the singer
singing the same old song
this is rhythm of life’s rhyme
but heart morbid is not sublime

these tears you bear are planted
too deep in absolute despair
drowning in own blood bleeding
is siren song none should hear

soul singing life’s praise
must search out star light
search out moon light not
mists of dark deadly night

Given the choice would you
bathe in waters happy or sad tears?
Mystic choice interesting question?
Bathe in cold warm or hot tears?

Me the tears of a pretty girl
the tears that made her happy.
Remember even when it is cloudy
clear vibrant stars are still shining.

Endless Dark

Softly the light shines in through
Gates of grace on me and you
Deceiving our restless hearts
A flickering flame so serene
It fires the night so we could see
Feeling alone so strong
And I know where I belong
Away from your guards
That heal our wounds in life
This endless dark
Endless dark
This endless dark
Lovely the light shines on you
Through the gates of fire entombed
Feeling on your own
Weak is the blaze that kept me away
From cruelty and tenderness embraced
Saving my soul no more
And I know where I belong
Away from your guards
That heal our wounds in life
This endless dark
Endless dark
This endless dark
I know where I belong
Away from you guards
That heal our wounds in life,
This endless dark
The shadow on you that tamed your burning heart
That buried my truth right into your arms
The words of the tomb of I fall on lone
That heal our wounds and light , this endless dark
That heal our wounds and light , this endless dark

Another Epitaph on an Army of Mercenaries (in reply to A.E. Housman)

In the days when heaven shook
and Lucifer an angel of light,
took a third
of once holy ones with him
in a mercenary calling, made darkness his own,
when he tried to become equal to the creator God

that army of mercenaries fought
against Michael and his host
and lost, falling in defeat
and Michael and his host ended the rebellion,
had it suspended

and the mercenaries paid the price for their deceit,
(if any of them died they did deserved it)
and they fell like comets from the sky
and burning, aflame to this planet they came
which is still revolving as it did then

and here their leader entrapped man
with a cunning elusive plan
trying to take this world
into destruction with him

but as a mortal God walked this earth,
paid the price instead of man
to make the demon’s work undone
and still man has a choice
to where his affections lie

and in spite of the presence of mercenaries here
elements of love, sincerity, truth and grace
still abounds in the heart of men
who honour the almighty God.

Church Without Walls

We serve a Saviour good as gold,
The greatest story ever told!
The King of Kings, the Lord of Lords,
Lifegiver of love's pure rewards...
We live by faith, we testify,
Eternal life can never die!
We fellowship both near and far,
To pray and wish upon a star.
Lord Jesus is that star, that light,
That shines for us by day and night!

Christ leads the Way to Heaven's Throne,
Reminding us we're not alone...
For in His Name, we daily walk
And of His glory we would talk,
To save the lost who need God's grace,
To see the Father in Christ's face...
Give praise with us and magnify,
Give glory to the Lord on high!
Let's preach and prophesy of Him,
Who daily fills us to the brim!

Thus we in all good works excel,
For Jesus, our Emmanuel...
Think not that we ourselves were good,
Or daily did the things we should,
For all, like sheep, have gone astray...
Till Calvary and Good Friday,
When Jesus bled and died to save
And Easter Sunday left His grave!
Then God's good Spirit helped men search
To find God's grace within the Church...

Yet now, without walls, we on Earth,
Will tell the world about His worth,
That all might know the Saviour's Name,
His light and His eternal flame,
His Book of Life, His destiny!
The King who died for you and me...
Thus of His Kingdom there's no end,
That's why we trust in Him, our friend,
Who one day will return and reign!
A thousand years of peace! Amen...

I Am God’s

I am on this day well and fine, for I am God’s and He is mine,
He sought me from His Throne, claiming me as His very own,
And He is my God, I truly claim, this, as I call upon His Name,
As I fellowship with my Lord, through His Spirit in one accord.

By The Lord God I was sought, and with a price I was bought,
The precious blood of Christ, God’s required matchless price,
A price that I could never pay, and so The Savior made a way,
To bring me into God’s Family, through that Cross, at Calvary.

My Heavenly Father, God now is, saved through Christ Jesus,
My Lord and God I speak of, is The Eternal Creator up above,
Not only is Christ my Creator, He, is also my Lord and Savior,
Although The Creator of the world, He is my God, I can herald.

It was God, who loved me first, a time when I was at my worst,
Never once was I seeking Him, while blinded from my dark sin,
And yet He moved on my heart, drawing my life to a new start,
Living life as a New Creation, through the God of my salvation.

God led me into a New Life, guided by my Savior Jesus Christ,
Leading me out of the dark night, into my Savior’s saving light,
To walk on God’s narrow way, with God beside me day to day,
So life this day is well and fine, for I am God’s and He is mine.

A Holy Week Song, 1918

Now when Christ died for man his sake
A myriad men must die;
His Via Crucis they must take
And share His Calvary.
God keep ye, gallant gentlemen,
Let nothing you dismay,
Who share Lord Jesus Christ His pain
Upon this Good Friday!

Now some shall turn and meet His gaze
And say, 'Remember me
When Thou art come to Thine own place
Where ransomed sinners be!'
God rest ye, gallant gentlemen,
For ye are bought with price,
This day there wends a shining train
The way to Paradise.

The day our Lord Christ lay in grave
The dead are piled so high
The field slow-moving like a wave
Sends up a mortal cry.
God love ye, gallant gentlemen,
Let nothing you dismay,
For life is born and Death is slain
Upon the Easter Day.

(copyright nazareth, tiflis tunes,inc.-ascap)
Mist upon the hill can remember murder,
Mist upon the hill that once flowed with blood,
Helped to cover up an approaching army,
Hid the killing lust in the eyes of men.
Sitting by the fire was a sentry sleeping,
Rolled up in their beds were children that play,
Unsuspecting what was to fall upon them,
None of them would see the dawn next day.
Bloody were the blades that fell on children,
Hate the blinding light tried to kill a name,
The mountains only know all the souls that died there,
Glen coe from that day can recall the shame.
The quiet of the night never gave them warning,
The silence of the hills wouldn't let them know,
They'd never rise again on a mist filled morning,
Never see the sunrise above glen coe.

Easter Poems

JESUS & EASTER

There once was a traveler who was driven out of town
On His shoulders was a burden that pushed Him to the ground.
On His head was a crown made of thorns from a bush
And the street was so crowded the guards had to push.

They beat Him with nine tails each step of the way
Where Christ found the strength, only God could say.
They stopped at some sandstone at the top of a hill
There was a round hole the cross would soon fill.

They made Him lie down upon that wood cross
There they nailed Him to prove who was boss.
The beam was up-ended by the muscles of men
As it plunged down the hole it was carved to fit in.

Then Jesus looked up at the lightning that flew
And cried, God, My Father, they know not what they do.
They crucified our Lord as His blood flowed to earth
If inside you believe, you feel what love is worth.

They wrapped Him in loincloth when He was taken down
Then carefully removed His scarlet stained crown.
They placed Him in a cave with a large, round, stone door
Before sealing forever, they lay lilies on the floor.

Though it wasn't very long, and the stone was rolled away
For Jesus resurrected, to rise on Easter Day!

DARTS OF THE DEVIL

The darts of the devil fly free on the winds
And sometimes they pierce both family and friends.
Remember young Adam and his wife, Eve?
When they gave into Satan, the Lord said, 'leave'.

Ever since then, right up to today
The devil makes sure we'll sin in some way.
Wear all of God's armor, whatever you do;
Should the darts of the devil seek out you.

Thank God for Jesus who died on the cross.
Our passage to heaven was paid by His loss.
Every knee shall bow and tongues confess all
That Jesus is our Lord at his final call.

Angels will descend with Jesus in the sky
He'll greet us with open arms when it's our time to fly.
For our Lord awaits all who believe
And those who do not, shall be told to leave.

GRACE

The Son of God came to save that which was lost
To redeem our soul from the power of the grave.
Where the prisoners of death must rest together
Except for the spirits of the kind and brave.

The preaching of the cross is ignored by fools
And sinners who are unable to conform.
By grace we are saved as a gift from our Lord
Who wipes tears from the faces that mourn.

By learning, loving, working, teaching, and prayer
We submit our years as a tale to be told.
The survival of life is our pilgrimage
As we tackle each challenge both young and old.

No one can be sure of how long they will last
Though all have a choice of whom they choose to be.
Warmongers, adulterers, thieves or saints
Everyone must some day bow down before Thee.

From dust we were made and shall return
After life has brought us to our earthly end.
Though all must walk in the shadow of death
The righteous are promised they will rise again.

The Resting-Place

“Because I live, ye shall live also.”

Calmly the Paschal moonlight now is sleeping
On mossy hillock and on headstone grey,
Where still our Mother holds in faithful keeping
Such as, while living, in her dear arms lay.
Ah! loving and beloved, we know ye rest,
E'en in the grave, upon her hallow'd breast.

Where is the cumbrous robe—the flesh—the matter
Which held the spirit in such painful thrall?
A little dust that scarce a breath would scatter,
Darkness, and void, and silence—this seems all.
Yet somewhere, safe, the waiting body lies,
While the freed spirit is in Paradise.

Ah! in that day, when earth is all refinèd
From death and sin, the darkness and the stain;
When Eden's perfect beauty is enshrinèd
In unmarred purity and light again;
Transfigured, and “exceeding white as snow”—
But still that body—it will rise, we know.

The self-same lips that hymn'd the Easter story
With heart of Easter gladness, here, may sing
The song of angels, in the angels' glory,
Around the throne of our Almighty King.
The same feet, which this ancient pavement trod,
May walk for aye the temple-courts of God.

O blessed day, which saw the Saviour risen!
Which told to trembling man that wondrous news—
“The grave is not thy body's endless prison,
Thy soul no more in vain for pardon sues.
From Adam's curse, by Christ's death, thou art free—
The Lord accepts this sacrifice for thee.”

“Peace be with you”—by Him those words were spoken
After the glorious victory was won—
After the angel gave that blessed token
To her whose favour'd lips had called him “Son.”
Ah! where were peace, if every trembling breath
Strengthen'd the fetters of an endless death?

Where were the peace, if that dark cloud of mourning
From Calvary's hill had never pass'd away?
If our deep night had never known the dawning
Of that mysterious Resurrection-day?
O Christ our Lord! Thou didst indeed release
Thy sinful children, and didst give them peace.

And now we know that Thou art throned for ever,
True God, and yet true man, in heaven above;
That now no power our life from Thine can sever,
That naught shall rob us of Thy gift of love;
That Thou, within the veil, dost intercede
For all who suffer and for all in need.

That Thou art with us here, too, in our sorrow—
With us to help in every time of strife,
Dost give to each dark day its joyous morrow,
Dost make us strong with Thine own love and life.
And we may love, and we may come to Thee
In heaven, and share Thy great felicity!

Ay, when the grass upon our grave is sighing
In the cool wind and Easter moonlight fair,
The mortal dust, beneath the violets lying,
Shall rest in hope and rest in safety there,
Till Thou shalt come with Thy celestial train,
And our bright spirit take its own again.

“After Thy likeness,” in its sweet perfection,
Shall we awake in that eternal day;
All—save the sin—shall have its resurrection,
Clothed in Thy glorious immortality.
And we shall stand Thy radiant throne beside,
Blessed for evermore, and—satisfied!

Walk this Night

Dark clouds will move
Light rays will come
Dark night will end
Bright day will start
But walk this night

Walk seeing its stars
Seeing its bright light
Seeing its white shine
It’s the beauty of night
So seen only in night

Walk seeing its moon
Seeing its moon light
Seeing its bright shine
It’s also beauty of night
So shines only in night

So walk this night
Walk seeing its light
And awake in light
Walk seeing its beauty
And awake in beauty

So walk this night
To wake in shine
If not the next day
It will be other day
For now walk this night

So move, said my heart

Sweet Inspiration (cover of Sweet Sensation by S. Mills)

Something strange came over me,
Cause I never felt this way,
There’s no place I’d rather be,
Than here with You to stay.

Can’t explain,
What your love has done for me, (love has done for me)
Keeps me warm and satisfied,
Jesus you make me see.

Sweet Inspiration, (by His stripes)
Calvary, my salvation,
Sweet inspiration, (by His stripes)
It’s a heavenly, love salvation.

Though my feet are on the ground,
My mind is in the sky,
Such a thrill, this ecstasy,
Jesus you're the reason why.

I'm all aglow, the kingdom's shinning through,
(kingdom shinning through)
Oh, thank you Savior,
I owe it all to You.

And I just wanna let You know,
(Just wanna let, wanna let you know)
That I'll never let you go, yeah,
(I'll never let, let you go)

Makes me feel so good inside,
To know that I've got you,
It's like a dream, but when I wake,
I find out that it's true.

Sweet Inspiration,
(by His stripes)
You're a Calvary
(You're a sweet)
Love Salvation.

Sweet Inspiration,
(by His stripes)
You're a Calvary
(You're a sweet)
Love Salvation.

Anytime, my soul's depressed,
Or should I feel dismayed,
On my knees, in sincerity,
When I call upon Your name.

And I understand,
It's up to me to believe,
Yes I know, from the word,
Faith still is the key.

Sweet Inspiration, (by His stripes)
Calvary, my salvation,
Sweet inspiration, (by His stripes)
It’s a heavenly, love salvation.

God Created Human Perfection

In the beginning
God created
human perfection
and it was good

but paradise bites
when free choice
involves poison
sharp serpent fangs

of cunning deception
innocence lacks experience
even in the Almighty’s
presence light are we lost

is themed in countless
stories unless God’s precise word
is with wisdom obeyed
in adversity saints saved prayed

all mortal souls fall life short
of the undeserved glory of God
salvation granted is not earned
it is undeserved glory from God

our saving graces these themes
have and will continue to be
written upon countless times
defined in affirmation of God

confusion lies in deceptive values
material gain at any cost opposed
to our creator’s religious principles
stone written right and wrong laws.

Religion and God has defined
guidelines to illuminate truth
morality which time and history
has over ages proven repeatedly

we ignore at our own peril lost
perceive hypocritical humanity
through the divine eyes of God
while still retaining human heart

then wonder woe deceitful man
at immense pain human creation
gives our God marvel at God’s
love in offering grace salvation.

My Star Shines Bright

No matter how dark things seem around me, my star shines bright…

When there is only Darkness…and no light…

My star shines bright.

When I am out in the night…

My star shines bright.

When there is no sun, moon, or any other star in site.

My star…Shines bright.

Things in my life my not always be fair…

But I have my star and its Sparkling Glare

My Goal is clearly not in sight…

But I can find it, with my star that shines bright.

I can see the light

With my star that shines bright.

My star…

Turns the darkness of the night

Into the sparkling sight

Of the Glimmering Light! !

My star…

Shines bright…
