Dad, memories do fade
Dad, memories do fade
when I look at your photograph
and the time that is now far long ago,
I can now hardly go back to.
The small bits of memory
do not always want to unfold,
as if you are just segments in my thoughts.
Sometimes your strong voice
do again become clear in me
but the deep emptiness remains,
as if nothing can again fill it.
Still in a way
you keep talking to me,
as if you are still present,
are still right here with me,
as if in a moment
you will come through the door
but Dad, it is now forty-three years
that I am missing you,
as if I have lost you somewhere
and still I am waiting on the day
that your grave will break open
when the Father of fathers will come
to reach out His hand to you.

Precious Memories
Those precious memories hidden deep down in my soul
Waiting for those memories to come clear to me and possibly unfold
It is so hard for me to remember my loving father and mother over the years
It hurts me so hard to try to remember my childhood scenes of them because it rarely appears
Those tearful, but precious memories flood deep inside of my heart
I only wish I could remember those precious memories, but they have started to fade and fall apart
Oh, it is hard to remember what was on my life's pathways, I fear that they never will be retold
But I know that those precious memories are still hidden somewhere down within in my soul

In Memories With You (The End)
Revisiting our past days
Holding time together
The album of memories says...
Beautiful pieces to remember
Heavenly fun and laughter
Love how we stay this way
Sunshine of the last summer
Bending time bringing serenity
Touching my hand for a first write
I'm lost in the warmth of your soul
'Listen to the rain' we made
My lips say that never to fade
Standing in a corner of the year
Bring back all past of older me
Be with you and open to see
Painting life by hand again
Deeper color immortalize me
Brushing smile in child wonderland
Wish i still there but we can't
Holding my soul tight
You listen to my first ballad
Either good or bad u never say it wrong
Closer and closer, make me strong
O September full of bonds
Our days flew drifted by the wind
Time flows like the November rain
Counting without missing a date
Three hundred sixty five days we holding on
Within the full heart of 12months not even long
Nothing went wrong but now we done
Cold winter always a sad witness
We end up in 31st December
Six feet under the white snow
Preserve memories in ice
Denying that was our last day
In memory it keeps lasting
Here in December
Never meant say for leaving
Something was missing
And I missing you already
Before say a goodbye
New years, ....
Won’t be...Never be...
The same like you
Now i walking out my life
With a full memories
Walking ahead with same steps
Along with memories
Leaving u 2010 for 2011
But something still alive
The memories with you
I just cant stop thinking
Because i am
In memories with you

Father & Son
There is the family photograph
That is your father’s face,
There is your father’s father
Grey-gathering years apace;
The son, bright-eyed in the morning,
The father, lined and drawn,
The son became the father
On the day that you were born.
We’ve all set out on the highway
Our fathers wished us well,
The sons became the fathers
In the same distinctive spell;
The road of all beginnings
Is all there is to lend,
But many a twist, and many a turn
Has marred us at the end.
He was my father’s father,
I am my father’s son,
We’ve travelled as far, and farther
Than our father’s years have run;
The twists and turns of fortune
Mean nothing, lost or won,
But the love of a father’s father,
And the love of a father’s son.

My First Love
For no reason at all she came into my thoughts and dreams
I don’t know why, I haven’t seen her since she was seventeen.
She brought with her forgotten memories I thought had gone,
but they’re still there to think about and to touch upon.
The happy and sad times that we both lived through
as teenage lovers with passions so strong and true.
We lived and breathed for each other every moment of the day,
and our hearts would break if we had to spend time away.
So strong was our love, we would have died for each other,
we experienced every emotion that was possible together.
My insane jealous nature eventually forced us to part
it left us with sadness and our first broken heart.
At the time there was nothing else worth living for,
but time heals and I found another love to adore.
Looking back, my first true love is still special to me,
we discovered what love was and how it should be.
And whenever she comes to mind I think back and smile,
and thank her for the memories that are so worthwhile.
The postman put a letter through the letterbox today
it said that my first love had recently passed away.
Even though she’s left this world she lives on in my memory
and as long as I shall live she’ll be with me.
In my thoughts and dreams I see her as she was so long ago,
and it’s over fifty years since we said our first hello.

Unopened Doors
Many doors of opportunity
remain shut through passing time.
You stand at them,
but they never open to let you pass through.
You try and try, but with no avail.
The door remains shut to you,
but you see other pass through it
and your frustration grows.
You bang and shout
and never anyone answers you.
The years slip silently by
from your youth until your old.
Each time you try the door
it refuses to let you through.
Even with more wisdom
it refuses to let you in,
but you don’t give up
you just try and try again.
More time passes
and you’ve lost the will
to want to go through.
You reach that point when you feel the battle lost.
Turning your back you walk away
to let the sun set on your life.
You feel you have nothing now,
no more will to fight.
Someone suggests a different direction,
a different door to go through.
You are hesitant
in case the door remains shut to you.
Finally, you try it
and are amazed to find
the door opens easily
and you can walk through,
but you keep remembering
the door that wouldn’t open for you.

Separate Long Decades Have Passed
long decades have passed
polar ice caps keep melting
ghost years between all passed away
time lost in sightless mists years
but there was not one no rainbows
time left us alone poles polar apart
yet through all those lost mist years
filled with work time spectral dreaming
your name haunted mind each day
memories came ever unbidden
in thoughts intrusive odd timed
such thoughts were never far away
I hoped lost years to you were gentle kind
lost out of sight never out of memory mind
eternal youth memories face to ages blind
I see you ever in heart’s mind memory
memories that echo through eternity
in this love which endures in perpetuity
long decades have passed
polar ice caps are still melting
ghost years between all passed away

Im Ok
Once upon a time there was a girl
In her early years she had to learn
How to grow up living in a war that she called home
Never know just where to turn for shelter from the storm
Hurt me to see the pain across my mothers face
Everytime my fathers fist would put her in her place
Hearing all the yelling I would cry up in my room
Hoping it would be over soon
Bruises fade father, but the pain remains the same
And I still remember how you kept me so afraid
Strength is my mother for all the love she gave
Every morning that I wake I look back to yesterday
And Im ok
I often wonder why I carry all this guilt
When its you that helped me put up all these walls Ive built
Shadows stir at night through a crack in the door
The echo of a broken child screaming please no more
Daddy, dont you understand the damage you have done
To you its just a memory, but for me it still lives on
Bruises fade father, but the pain remains the same
And I still remember how you kept me so, so afraid
Strength is my mother for all the love she gave
Every morning that I wake I look back to yesterday
Its not so easy to forget
All the lines you left along her neck
When I was thrown against cold stairs
And every day Im afraid to come home
In fear of what I might see there
Bruises fade father but the pain remains the same
And I still remember how you kept me so afraid
Strength is my mother for all the love she gave
Every morning that I wake I look back to yesterday
And Im ok
Im ok

Lost Eyes
you sit alone everyday
while you try to find a way
to run away from all your pain
your feelings make you cold
your memories never unfold
your story hides in your mind
all those thoughts lost, you cant find
stop trying to hide inside
the blackness is makeing you blind
searching for your lost days
everything seems to fade in some way
bring your shadow into the light
end the darkness and try to fight
save yourself, before you die
stop crying and stand up
open your eyes and wake up
your memories are lost
deep in your mind
all those thoughts you still cant find
they 're still inside your lost eyes
In The Way Back Then
Seven years ago,
I went back to Canada
after forty-two years.
I walked down a road
to show my wife where I used to live.
The road was built on rolling hills
and as I came over one,
I knew instantly where I was.
Things had changed
in those forty-two years,
some would say
it was unrecognisable
from what I used to know,
but as soon as I started down the hill
things came back like yesterday.
It was as if I had never been away.
Memories of my childhood
instantly sprang to mind.
I found myself seeing things
not as the now,
but there were changes
from the way back then.
The memory flashes
brought a smile to my face
as I could visualise
all the friends I knew then,
the funny incidents that over my life
in the way back then.
All too soon, time
has a way of taking things back
and my memory reclined them
to the back door of my mind.

Back on the mic I got the sound
Holding you down, down to the ground
Speaking the melody
Who out there gut the skills to test me?
I've been here for far too long
It's time to break out
It's to be strong
Beats going crazy inside my head
Everything's alright
Here comes the night
Ref.:
I'm a went I talking to me
Put it's love I see
I know you can make it lie
I'm still waiting love
Waiting for the love by me
If you want me, too?
There's something down, down the sky
I don't know!
I'm a went I talking to me
Put it's love is see
I know you can make it lie
I'm still waiting love
Waiting for the love by me
If you want me, too?
There's something down, down the sky
I don't know!
Don't be afraid, it's just my work
Comin' up bringing the words
Soon I'll have ya movin' in time
It ain't my fault, just the lyrics that rhyme
As i chop, change, rearrange
Choose and refuse, cause of fame
Gonna getcha hot like a burning flame
Everything's alright
Here comes the night
Ref.:
I'm a went I talking to me
Put it's love is see
I know you can make it lie

What Way?
What happened to all the reasons for, 'Why? '
Where go all the'make it so.'?
I never wore my heart for those to see
I never let them see it bleed
I never let anyone...
Relevance is just lost in memories
I wouldn't let someone...
(deligence...confused in sympathies)
Build a monument to me
I reach up into the blue sky
But I can't reach far enough
I reach into myself
Far into emptiness
The wind blows strong into the night
It howls around the corners of the house
Lost souls calling to me, howling;
'Do you come, are you ready? '
I must be patient....please,
It must be my way

In these cormorant hours
I’ve never begun to understand,
The sea changing patterns beholden,
With holding onto a woman’s hand,
No matter how many times
Unwilled she can be emboldened.
The ever changing wind still chimes
With me!
The ever changing green sea grimes
Deep in the deepest blue coral waves
Of the world,
In the darkest barroom grave
With me!
Just to be hurled,
Unbroken like a bird like a wave
Sucked out on a storm just to be free!
In these cormorant hours spent swift
On the wind like a sparrow hawk
With the thoughts of these old lovers up lift
On these wings I still feel strong, but hark
I still feel in my heart
The emptiness of the dark
As a marginal, migrant, migrating
Longing to go back into the virginal bay
I left battered and bereft
A long, long, long time away!
Looking further from my lovers reach
Back along the stony cliffs
Unto the foaming beach
In a whirlpool of memory I’m split into fifths
Like the lemming jumping off the cliffs
I high tale because I can’t be beholden
To an emboldened smile
No matter whomever you think you are!
This time! or any time my cormorant star!

You Can Never Go Home Again
Its been forty years or so
But the dreams still remain
And, in them, I enter happiness.
I race home from school
And burst through the gates.
Where
My father
As always
Awaits with an ever ready smile.
The sun shines behind me
And his crisp ironed shirt does not prevent him
From lifting me up in his arms.
My father does not fear wrinkles..
I speak
In my sleep, a foreign tongue
It bursts from my lips
Like an overripe mango.
And,
I awake, remembering...
I was there again.
Now
After forty years
I walk over the threshold
To a home I remember from my dreams.
I must contain my emotions
Seal them in for I will burst.
I have traveled over land and sea
To stand here.
Perhaps
I was hoping as my feet touched this familiar earth,
I would go back in time...
I half expected my father's ghost to greet me.
Cigarette casually held between pearly white teeth.
His arms ready to embrace the son
He left so suddenly.
The rug was swept up from under me and
My lunges had the breath sucked out from them.
I was hoping to regain some lost oxygen.
My composure slips,
Cracks
Like these old walls that seem to have held the
Same memories I remember.
It's as if they knew I'd come back.
This was all they had left to give
And they waited for me.
They too had been dreaming of better days.
Long ago we lost a lot
The day my father died so suddenly.
I held the dirt from the courtyard in my hands and
Inhaled for his sent,
Caressed the iron gates as if I were touching
My long gone fathers face
And let the tears finally come.

Voice Of The Heart
(j.t.stanley/john bettis/b.roberts)
Sometimes when your world seems so big and real
You may run to the shelter of walls
Sometimes you may wish
You could be like your shadow
It fits wherever it falls
Whenever the nights too deep to find
And the morning is too far away
Wherever you are
Theres always a star to guide the way
There to guide the way
If you listen long enough
If you dream it strong enough
A door inside will open
And a light will flood the dark
Like a song too long unsung
Or a soul forever young
We all will find an answer
In the voice of the heart
Tonight if a dream should come to your sleep
With a picture you dont wanna see
Go where it leads, from secret to secret
You are what you want to be
Whenever the sun refuses to shine
And you cant chase the storm clouds away
Wherever you are theres always a star to guide the way
There to guide the way
If you listen long enough
If you dream it strong enough
A door inside will open
And a light will flood the dark
Like a song too long unsung
Or a soul forever young
We all will find an answer
In the voice of the heart
Living in a private world
There are times when its hard to break through
So dont give up
Each time you hurt youve got nothing to lose
Theres a voice inside of you
If you listen long enough
If you dream it strong enough
A door inside will open
And a light will flood the dark
Like a song too long unsung
Or a soul forever young
We all will find an answer
In the voice of the heart
If you listen long enough
(listen)
If you dream it strong enough
(dream it)
A door inside will open
And a light will flood the dark
Like a song too long unsung
Or a soul forever young
We will find the answer
In the voice of the heart
If you listen long enough
(long enough)
If you dream it strong enough
(strong enough)
A door inside will open
And a light will flood the dark
Like a song too long unsung
Or a soul forever young
We will find an answer
In the voice of the heart
If you listen long enough
If you dream it strong enough
In the voice
In the voice of the heart
We will find the answer
Like a song too long unsung

Elderly Women Behind The Counter In A Small Town
i seem to recognize your face
haunting, familiar, yet i can't seem to place it
cannot find the candle of thought to light your name
lifetimes are catching up with me
all these changes taking place, i wish i'd seen the place
but no one's ever taken me
hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away...
hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away...
i swear i recognize your breath
memories like fingerprints are slowly raising
me, you wouldn't recall, for i'm not my former
it's hard when, you're stuck upon the shelf
i changed by not changing at all, small town predicts my fate
perhaps that's what no one wants to see
i just want to scream...hello...
my god its been so long, never dreamed you'd return
but now here you are, and here i am
hearts and thoughts they fade...away...
hearts and thoughts they fade...away...
hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away...
hearts and thoughts they fade...

Reminiscence
A rose reminiscent of my father's garden
I found growing by a pathway outside my home- as well as
Another just lying upon the sidewalk-
I collected them and brought them home and
Placed them in a vase my mother always loved.
My mother and father always loved the springtime and
On this rainy Saturday afternoon,
I find it hard to believe they have been gone for twenty years.
My mother's spirit was as delicate as the petals on these roses-
My father's, as strong as their thorny stems that upheld them and
My own spirit, by them, always misunderstood.
Flowers are blossoming everywhere-
Daffodils and wild violets growing every place I look and
Cherry blossoms and dogwood seemly decorating the trees-
Bring back the fonder memories of my mother and my father-while
The rain and the sky so gray and overcast
Bring back memories of the sadness of being misunderstood.
It has been nearly forty years that
I had made my own special world in which to live and
In this world flowers grew not only just in the springtime months-
But all year around and in every place.
The real world was then, to me, a place I never lived in or comprehended, and
As long as I kept my mind alive inside the world of my imagination-
At that time, I believed that I had not a thing to fear.
Roses reminiscent of my father's garden,
Placed in the vase my mother so loved-
Upon this rainy Saturday day in March, evokes a few tears in my eyes and
Just for the moment I think of the laughter and good times we had together-
These thoughts are interrupted by memories of all of the anger, sadness,
Mistrust and disbelief that now overshadow memories of
These few pleasurable moments we not so often shared, and
I take these roses from the vase that sits alone upon the table,
Open my picture window and throw them to the rain, and
As my tears cease to fall and dry away- I say goodbye to all unhappy memories-and
As thoughts of my self-made world disappear,
I am thankful that I have a life in this world here alive, and while
I watch the rose petals flutter about in a gentle spring like breeze-
I leave thoughts of discontented past times behind me and
I realize that I have just been set free.

Heloise to Peter Abelard
Far too small is the memory
with much too little to still preserve
of what you had been for me and maybe still is
and with time we fade to each other.
Here I am caught by destiny
when unexpectedly you wander through my thoughts,
I am bending myself to man and to God,
are waiting on a messenger to take my letter,
I am still lost in you, in our love.

Incomudro - Hymn To The Atman
Run a silent path to nowhere, everything is all
You could have a pleasant life if Summer had no Fall
Treat yourself so gently though the task is often hard
Man is not a God it seems, who holds the final card
Close your eyes and feel the darkness, speak and hear the sound,
We only catch a glimpse of all the life that is around,
The man is not alive who knows the value of his soul,
And when our lives are pulled away, there's more to fill the hole
I wonder what you'd think if all the changes didn't come,
For growing old is only going back to where you're from
Far beyond our senseless thoughts there lies a core of gold
Where essence of the newborn child is waiting in the old,
The Master Plan is well conceived, it's there for all to see
And each day that is spent in thought is living harmony
Reach into the depths of being, pass beyond the years,
Time is lost in stillness, where there are no hopes and fears,
Linger in the void, and like a beacon in the night
Purity will fill your soul with ever-present light
Everything you've seen is waiting patiently within
For growing old is only going back to where you've been

A photograph never grows old. You and I change, people change all through the months and years, but a photograph always remains the same. How nice to look at a photograph of mother or father taken many years ago. You see them as you remember them. But as people live on, they change completely. That is why I think a photograph can be kind.

Deep
blank stare
disrepair
there's a big black hole gonna eat me up someday
(but) someday
fades away
like a memory - or a place that you'd rather be
some place
lost in space
an itch in my head that's telling me somewhere
somewhere
out there anywhere I don't care get me out of here
if I could feel
all the pins and the pricks
if you were real
I could take what's apart and put it all back together now
this will come true
help me get through
into you
deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep
all I can do
driving me through
into you
deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep
one track
got you on your back
your skin speaks up but you lips couldn't say it
right now I know somehow
we could take the chance and we could make it make it
right here make it all disappear
everything that we've been missing missing
you make me feel
like there's a part of me
that I want to get back again
make this come true
help me get through
into you
deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep
all I can do
pushing it through
into you
deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep
all I can do
driving on through
into you
deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep
you're slipping through
I'm coming, too
into you
deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep
we could become
two into one
leave this behind
over and done
everything new
I'm getting through
into you
