Benediction (English sestet) [1]
Let God from you keep all kinds of evil
let Him banish all kinds of constant fear,
all wicked men, fiends, the very devil;
while His mighty angels always draw near,
draw a fiery laager around you walls,
that they may only be hallowed halls.

All Kinds Of Time
The clocks running down
the teams losing ground
to the opposing defense
the young quarterback
waits for the snap
when suddenly it all starts to make sense
he's got all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he takes a step back
he's under attack
but he knows that no one can touch him now
he seems so at ease
a strange inner peace
its all that he's feeling somehow
he's got all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he thinks of his mother
he thinks of his bride to be
he thinks of his father
his two younger brothers
gathered around the wide screen t.v.
he looks to the left
he looks to the right
and there in a golden ray of light
and there his open man
just like he planned
the world is his tonight
he's got all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time

She Takes
She takes one step back
And falls to the ground
Can not seem to stop laughing
Joking they say to all she has done
Not nearly what she sees tonight
All kinds of time she says
All kinds of time
She has all kinds of time
Drinking with despair they take her down
Throwing it all around
She has no money to spare
As she ask for help from her friends
All kinds of time he says
All kinds of time
He has all kinds of time
Writing it all for him to see
The way he use to be
No father around as she passes out
From not sleeping she's been wishing
All kinds of time they say
All kinds of time
All kinds of time to break her down
Nothing around as she picks herself up
In a place that has no name
Came on a bus with a bottle
She's been drinking
She settles down with no help
Can't remember the last night she felt sound
All kinds of time she says
All kinds of time
She has all kinds of time

Psalm-Poem (In Answer To Cornelius Van Der Merwe)
Lord You who are the eternal shepherd
notice the evil things in our country,
how cars are being stolen, are hijacked,
how some malignant men rape women,
how they do not regard any of Your laws,
how they have already tortured and killed
thousands of people in anger
and where we have already lost hope
I ask that You lead us further,
through the valley of death intact,
where Your body is the temple
that had been raised again in three days
my eyes are still drawn to You
and I ask that You reach out Your hand,
to cover every house, every property and farm
from these wicked people
(even everyone else that serves You)
with the power of Your mighty angels to protect,
that You draw Your impenetrable laager around us all
who stand faithful on our knees before You.

All Kinds Of People
Theres a time for love, and a time for healing
You cant go back and undo whats been done
Word of mouth, time is revealing
Just how far weve let this kingdom come
Hand in hand, were finding our way
And today is just tomorrows yesterday
Some will die for you; some would lie to you
Theres all kinds of people in this world
Turn the world around, tear the borders down
Theres all kinds of people in this world
Yeahhhh
A kiss of life, and the hand of faith
A boy grows up into his fathers son
And he learns to love, hes been taught to hate
To carry on the way it has been done
All our lives its debts to repay
And then someday we can put the past away
Some will die for you, some would lie to you
Theres all kinds of people in this world
Turn the world around, tear the borders down
Theres all kinds of people in this world
Some will die for you; some would lie to you
Theres all kinds of people in this world
Put your fear away, find a better way,
Theres all kinds of people in this world
Yeahhhh
In a moment, things can change
One look behind and its never the same
Some will die for you, some would lie to you
Theres all kinds of people in this world
Turn the world around, tear the borders down
Theres all kinds of people in this world
(all kinds of people of people in this world)
Some will die for you, some would lie to you
Theres all kinds of people in this world
Put your fear away, find a better way,
Theres all kinds of people in this world
Some will die for you; some would lie to you
Theres all kinds of people in this world
Put your fear away, find a better way,
Theres all kinds of people in this world

My Own Kind Of Hat
Cowboys and outlaws, right guys and south-paws
Good dogs and all kinds of cats.
Dirt roads and white lined, and all kinds of stop signs
Ill stand right here where Im at
cause I wear my own kind of hat.
Theres two kinds of lovers, two kinds of brothers
Two kinds of babies to hold.
Theres two kinds of cherries, two kinds of fairies
Two kinds of mothers Im told...............Im told
Cowboys and outlaws, right guys and south-paws
Good dogs and all kinds of cats.
Dirt roads and white lines and all kinds of stop signs
Ill stand right here where Im at
Cause I wear my own kind of hat.
Theres two kinds of brother, two kinds of lovers
Two kinds of babies to hold
Theres two kinds of cherries, two kinds of fairies
Two kinds of mothers Im told .............. Im told

It Takes All Kinds Of People
Roy orbison/mike curb
Man by himself lives in a world a world of his own
But theres no one who can live in the world all alone
For it takes all kinds of people
It doesnt matter where they come from
Yes it takes all kinds of people
The good, the bad, and everyone
On the way up, a man can walk over his friends
What goes up comes down
One day he may need them again
For it takes all kinds of people
It doesnt matter where they come from
Yes it takes all kinds of people
The good, the bad, and everyone
Therell come the day when everyone passes him by
What will he say when nobody answers his cry?
That it takes all kinds of people
It doesnt matter where they come from
Yes it takes all kinds of people
It may take some time
But each man will find
That he needs all kinds of people
That he must believe in people
Yes it takes all kinds of people
To make a world

If These Walls Could Speak
If these old walls,
If these old walls could speak
Of the things that they remember well,
Stories and faces dearly held,
A couple in love
Livin week to week,
Rooms full of laughter,
If these walls could speak.
If these old halls,
If hallowed halls could talk,
These would have a tale to tell
Of sun goin down and dinner bell,
And children playing at hide and seek
>from floor to rafter,
If these halls could speak.
They would tell you that Im sorry
For bein cold and blind and weak.
They would tell you that its only
That I have a stubborn strreak,
If these walls could speak.
If these old fashioned window panes were eyes,
I guess they would have seen it all--
Each little tear and sigh and footfall,
And every dream that we came to seek
Or followed after,
If these walls could speak.
They would tell you that I owe you
More than I could ever pay.
Heres someone who really loves you;
Dont ever go away.
Thats what these walls would say.
They would tell you that I owe you
More than I could ever pay.
Heres someone who really loves you;
Dont ever go away.
Thats what these walls would say.
Thats what these walls would say.
Thats what these walls would say.

Some Kinda Love
(reed)
Some kinds of love
Marguerita told tom
Between thought and expression lies a lifetime
Situations arrive because of the weather
And no kinds of love
Are better than others
Some kinds of love
Marguerita told tom
Like a dirty french novel
The absurd courts the vulgar
And some kinds of love
The possibilites are endless
And for me to miss one
Would seem to be groundless
I heard what you said
Marguerita heard tom
And of course youre not charmless
For a bore is a straight line
That finds a wealth in division
And some kinds of love
Are mistaken for vision
Put jelly on your shoulder
Let us do what you fear most
That from wich you recoil
But which still makes your eyes moist
Put jelly on your shoulder
Lie down on the carpet
Between thought and expression
Let us now kiss the culprit
I dont know just what its all about
Put on your red pajamas and find out

Flowers For Zoe
Flowers for Zoe
Love for Zoe
Angels and rainbows
All kinds of things you can call your own
Garden for Zoe
And oceans for Zoe
Jungle gym playgrounds
All kinds of things for you to explore
Flowers for Zoe
Love for Zoe
Angels and rainbows
All kinds of things you can call your own
Yeah yeah yeah
God is for Zoe
And heaven's for Zoe
Oh can you believe
That everything is waiting to unfold ?

The Kinds Of Longing I Had Once And The Kinds Of Missing
THE KINDS OF LONGINGS I HAD ONCE AND THE KINDS OF MISSING
The kinds of longings I had once
And the kinds of missing
Are no longer mine-
Love and the pain of love
Desire for her which could drive me insane
Wondering how I could live
If she would not let me touch her
Wondering how I could be in this world
If she would not want to be with me-
All that pain and all that beauty
All that being so intensely alive
Is not where I can be anymore-
The kind of love a young man feels
I will never feel again-
And while there is sadness in the absence,
There is also the sense
That I no longer know what it is I was
When I loved her so so much
I could not even begin to think of my life without her.

Almighty God, creator of everything (in reply to Breyten Breytenbach)
Almighty God, creator of everything,
let me ask in Your holy name
that the unrighteousness that is happening,
now draw Your attention
that the names, the occurrences, the whole lives
of everyone who is oppressed
become written in Your immortal book
give the opportunity for a life to us, that we also
may earn a living, also may have a place
in our country and are not be trampled upon
by people who want to rob, the little that we have
that we have earned with difficulty
and protect us; shelter us
in your laager, with fire
that You draw around us, around our properties
and let we forgive them,
who are sincerely striving for our destruction,
who do not grant us employment,
are trampling upon our human rights
and let the forces of evil flee away from us,
let evil succumb to Your Godly power
since the whole world belongs to You,
every government, country and kingdom
is under Your sway
and may we remember like our fathers,
how faithful Your Godly salvation is,
may our lives be just as sincere
and may the wide world see us
as people of integrity
but more than this, more than the salvation
that You are bringing,
let we testify about Your endless love,
bend our knees to only You.

Some Kinda Love
Hey, some kinds of love
Margarita told tom
Between thought and expression
Lies a lifetime
Situations arise
Because of the weather
And no kinds of love
Are better than others
La-dee-ta-ta-ta
Hey, some kinds of love
Now margarita told tom
Well of course, baby, youre a bore
But at that youre not charmless
Because a bore is a straight line
Finds a wealth in division
And no kinds of love
Mistaken for vision
La-dee-ta
Some kinds of love
Now margarita told tom
They turn to division
Woh baby, youre not charming
Oh baby, ....
And no kinds of love
Mistaken for vision
Put jelly on your shoulder
Oh baby, lies down upon the carpet
Put jelly on your shoulder
Lets do what you fear most
That from which you recoil
But still makes your eyes moist
Put jelly, baby, on your shoulder
Lies down, now baby, on the carpet, ooohhh
Ooohhh-ooohhh, ooohhh
Ooohhh-ooohhh-ooohhh, ooohhh-ooohhh
Well some kinds of love
Theyre mistaken for vision
Well I dont know, baby, what its all about
Oh little baby, why dont you come back
Hey, la-dee-ta-ta-ta
Oh no lord, ta-li-ta-li-sha
Oh now baby, la-dee-ta-ta
Oh baby, la-dee-ta, ta-ti-ta-ti-ta
Da-ti-da-ti-ta, la-ta-ta

Draw Me A Map Of This World
lady draw me a map of
this world
and tell me where the
mountains and
rivers are
draw me an island
of soft grass
where a man and
woman can rest
and make love
draw me a pond
a larger one where
the orange goldfish
are fat where the
swans can swim
draw me some
clouds where the
birds can fly
make them real
please
i need all of them
for me
to be real today.
