Voices Of The Heart

A shadow far away coming nearer each moment,
With foregone enchantment swifter than light,
The voices of my heart pierce the shadow of night,
Eyes could not have seen the cries made of fright.

Mute stranger not hearing the shuffling prance,
Swayed in dance from the gripping hold of agony,
I did what no opportunity would have given chance,
Pass hastily with prayer into the realm of misery.

My naked soul made the call of hopeful choice,
To try and stem the tide of emotions from inside,
On the floor I went, to end the screams in silence,
And pluck up courage where shame tries to hide.

The bruises appear delirious with implacable scar,
Beyond the soul stronger voices torment the heart,
With imagery pasteurizing the grayscales of fear,
Crying for help, crippled by the passions once felt.

Woken from a dream to the glow of another rising sun,
Visions not forgotten rode by on a brighten screen,
Blearily pursue the papal breath broken and undone,
Were these voices of my heart or a voice from heaven?

In me all the hurt is repeated without honor,
And nothing is forgotten without leaving pain,
To feel the cold chill pass upon destiny’s shore,
Hearing voices of the heart quietly lamenting.

They had pierce safe barriers and brought cute hell,
Far more darker than the torment life has given,
Repeated voices that arise from my heart to tell,
The story memories would rather have forgotten.

Voices Cryin Out

Voices cryin out, voices cryin out
Voices cryin out in the night hear them call
Voices cryin out hear them call
Its a night
Like no other night
Its a day
Almost turning grey
Its a heart
Like a broken heart
Its a wheel
At the end of day
Its the plight
Of a boy whos scared
Of the waves rushing out
And the wind in the air
Its the sight
Of one longing to taste
Of life
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices from some foreign shore
Visions that seem an incredible dream
Echoing for more
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices crying out hear them call
Its a song
Of a love unsung
Its the pain
Of just being young
Its a cry
Of a voice unheard
Of a face
Speaking silent words
Its the hope
That the time goes by
Take you upon a wing
Teach your soul to fly
Its a wish
That youll live your experience life
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices from some foreign shore
Vision that seem an incredible dream
Echoing for more
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices crying out hear them call
Oh do you know how it feels to be free
Walking your path of life
Embracing destiny one day at a time
Voices cryin out...oh cant you hear them
Voices cryin out...listen please, listen to the future
Voices cryin out...millions and millions and millions of voices
Voices cryin out...oh oh oh oh
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices from some foreign shore
Vision that seem an incredible dream
Echoing for more
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices crying out hear them call
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices from some foreign shore
Vision that seem an incredible dream
Echoing for more
Voices cryin out
Voices cryin out
Voices cryin out...

Voices

The voices in my head is telling me not to let you go,
You had lay me down to sleep,
You walk pass by me in dreams,
You had made me happy,
You took care of me,
The voices are telling me to let you stay,
The voices in my heart is telling me to open up,
My soul tells me not to open up,
The voices are everywhere in my body,
My head, my soul, and my heart,
My body is numb,
You have took what was once given,
You have made your mistakes by letting me go,
I was once happy with you,
The voices are telling me to hold on to you,
But I have took what was once you had given to me and that was trust,
You have betrayed my trust,
Betrayed your friends,
The voices are telling me to help you,
But I choose not to.

The Only Voices I hear Are On The Inside

I was born not being able to hear
Born not hearing my mother tell me I'm dear
Born never listening to anyone who spoke to me
Born not enjoying music
Born without the ability to gauge sound, unable to hear the clock tick
But since the day I was born
Since before I could talk, I could scorn
There was one thing I always did hate
And that was the thing deepest inside of me,
The thing for which I cursed fate
Worse than deafness or being unable to see
Since the day I was born I heard voices
Not when loved ones talked, but voices that weren't my choice
To hear, voices that were inside my head
Voices that nobody else heard, but I didn't know if they were lying
Because my hearing has always been dead
I'd hear screeching or dying
When none was there
Those voices they'd tell me what to do and how could I deny them?
They were, they are, and they will be the only ones who care
Because they're the only one that speak to me, I can't find the sin
That I committed to be born like this, to be born broken
I've heard more conversations than any other man
And yet I've never heard man utter a word, through my whole lifespan
The only voices I hear are on the inside
And it's the greatest torment that I hide
They'll just tell me I'm crazy, well in writing
But these voices, they accept me, they sing
These voices they know because they've talked to me
These voices are the only I've ever known the
The first voices I've ever heard
Like a mother, I've never listened to a singing bird
But I've listened to a cacophonous symphony of arguing inside my head
These voices are like the woman I did not choose, but wed
I can't separate myself from them
The only time I hear anything, it's torment to condemn
Me, it's funny that I could never speak to anyone but myself
But I guess I've never, ever, been lonely... not ever.
I
Have
Never
Been
Alone
W ho could save me from myselves?

Pain In Love

In a complete silence,
I heard loud cries,
Cry in pain,
Pain in Love,
Love for someone,
someone rests in heart,
Heart filled with affection,
Affection for someone,
Someone didn't understand,
Understanding of those feelings,
Feelings got hurt,
Hurting give wounds everyday,
Everyday the lover dies,
Dies for get someone in life,
Life is not so easy,
Not easy to handle a jar of love,
Love and Pain met together,
Together and forever,
Forever in pain,
Pain of lost love,
Lost Love never found again,
Again and again in a dark,
Darkness In life accompanies the soul,
The soul who visited me,
Me hearing those cries,
Cry for pain in love,
Pain In love is really so loud,
Loud in silence, more louder in many voices,
Voices ask about the cry,
And Reply comes, I cry in pain,
Pain of love, paining in love,
Crying and dying for love,
Really I am dying with pain in love.

Darkness

Gene pitney
Darkness, only darkness
Land of shadow
Thats where my heart goes
Now Im alone, Im on my own
Voices, I hear voices
Sounds in the still night everywhere
But youre not there
No, youre not there
Imagination brings you so near
I reach for your lips, but theyre not here
All of my memories are closing in as one
I walk a little faster, than I start to run
Darkness, only darkness
Land of shadow
Thats where my heart goes
Now Im alone, Im on my own
I long to hold you, thrill to your charm
But how can I hold shadows in my arms?
I reach to find you, stumbling through the night
Searching in my sadness, looking for the light
But theres darkness, only darkness
Land of shadow
Thats where my heart goes
Now Im alone, Im on my own

Not Just Sometimes But Always

There is a long forgotten voice
I know it's not your voice, cause it's always strained
I wake up hearing unfamiliar voices
Convinced they're trying to explain
That if my words were clearer
Then maybe I would know what I'm trying to say
Just as those long forgotten voices
Disappear back into rain
If I was born the same day that you died
Should that make me try
I was born the same day that you died
Should that make me feel more alive
Not just sometimes but always
I know what I know
I know what I know
I know what I know
I tune the radio to drown out these voices I don't know
I'm suddenly an empty house, that almost fills up with home
There are days and nights, when I don't need to close my eyes
And they feel as real to me like analogy in disguise
If I was born the same day that you died
Should that make me try
I was born the same day that you died
Should that make me feel more alive
Not just sometimes but always
I know what I know
I know what I know
I know what I know
Not just sometimes but always
I know what I know
I know what I know
I know what I know

Liquid Sky

I aint no romeo. Im just the man for you.
Holding out as secrets travel, they kind of get to you.
Everybody says that it couldve been something.
Never was a smart kid, never knew a good thing.
Always hearing voices swim ... in your liquid sky.
Liquid sky ... always hearing voices, like no more choices in disguise.
I aint no sacred idol or a saint pretending.
Ill build you up. Ill tear you down. turn you wrong side in.
What am I afraid of? everyones listening.
Standing on my soapbox, lost the beginning.
Always hearing voices ... swim ... in your liquid sky.
Liquid sky ... Im always hearing voices, like no more choices, like a lie.
Its just, its just liquid sky.
Im always hearing voices like electric shock waves in disguise.
I dont know what this means. Ill leave it for your interpretation. its just me at the edge ...
Everybody says that it could have been something.
Never was a smart kid, never knew a good thing.
Always hearing voices ... swim in your liquid sky.
Liquid sky ... Im always hearing voices, like no more choices, like a lie.
Its just, its just liquid sky. Im always hearing voices like electric shock waves in disguise.
Always hearing voices swim ...

Nine Voices

Anderson/squire/howe/white/sherwood/khoroshev
On a beach
North africa
Nine tribesmen stand alone
Waiting for a distant call
Waiting for the world to answer
Thru' the night of a thousand stars
Encircled by the light
They began to sing a new song
Of forces that surround us
Nine voices
This dialogue
Nine voices
Singing as one
Nine voices

Nine voices
When the sun came up they sang
As the perfect calendar says
Each had the power of people
Speaking new languages
They gave forgiveness meaning
New ways of letting go
Each child is born for greatness
With forces that surround them

Voices That Care

Lonely fear lights up the sky
Cant help but wonder why
Youre so far away
There, you have to take a stand
In someone elses land
Life can be so strange
I wish we never had to choose
To either win or lose,
That we could find a way
But I wont turn my back again,
Your honor Ill defend
So hurry home,
Till then
Stand tall
Stand proud
Voices that care are crying out loud
And when you close your eyes tonight
Feel in your heart how our love burns bright
Im not here to justify the cause
Or to count up all the loss
Thats all been done before
I just cant let you feel alone
When theres so much love at home
Were sending out to you
And the courage that youve known
The bravery that youve shown
Clearly lights the way
We pray to make the future bright
To make the wrong things right
(rap):
Right or wrong, were all praying youll remain strong
Thats why were all here and singing along
Stand tall
Stand proud
Voices that care are crying out loud
And when you close your eyes tonight
Feel in your heart how our love burns bright
And when you close your eyes tonight
Feel in our heart how our love burns bright
You are the voice,
You are the light
Stand tall
Stand proud
Voices that care are crying out loud
And when you close your eyes tonight
Feel in your heart how our love burns bright
Stand tall
Stand proud
Voices that care are crying out loud
And when you close your eyes tonight
Feel in your heart how our love burns bright
You are the voice and the guiding light
Feel in your heart how our love burns bright

Old Black Joe

1 Gone are the days when my heart was young and gay,
2 Gone are my friends from the cotton fields away,
3 Gone from the earth to a better land I know,
4 I hear their gentle voices calling 'Old Black Joe.'

5 [Chorus] I'm coming, I'm coming, for my head is bending low:
6 I hear those gentle voices calling, 'Old Black Joe.'

7 [Solo] Why do I weep when my heart should feel no pain
8 Why do I sigh that my friends come not again,
9 Grieving for forms Now departed long a go?
10 I hear their gentle voices calling 'Old Black Joe.'

11 [Chorus] I'm coming, I'm coming, for my head is bending low:
12 I hear those gentle voices calling, 'Old Black Joe.'

13 [Solo] Where are the hearts once so happy and so free?
14 The children so dear that I held upon my knee,
15 Gone to the shore where my soul has longed to go.
16 I hear their gentle voices calling 'Old Black Joe.'

17 [Chorus] I'm coming, I'm coming, for my head is bending low:
18 I hear those gentle voices calling, 'Old Black Joe.'

I Have A Voice Of My Own

I HAVE A VOICE OF MY OWN

I have a voice of my own
It is a small quiet voice
It does not know violent metaphor
And it cannot surprise very much
It is a small quiet voice
And a quite simple one
It loves to think it tells the truth of my soul
But no doubt it has its own forms of ironies and deceptions-
There are other voices much greater than it
Stronger voices and more poetic voices
And voices which rightfully more appeal to others
But my voice is my voice
And it is the one
I am trying to
speak to you with now.

Escaping Childhood

Another scream, finds my ears
Thundering booms, as doors are slammed
'Welcome to the mad house'
I say, silently
As not to wake, the voices inside

I lay still, in hope, the voices
Won't find me
A tear of regret
Relentlessly, falls from my cheek
As I long for, the good ole days

The sound of my single tear
Hitting my pillow
Wake the voices
My soul, tries to escape
This maze in my mind
To many voices to evade
I lose myself to the voices
Again

I can see
But I have no say
My life is not my own
I'm trapped
Behind a wall of hurt and pain
Still, the voices are in control

I beg for relief
But they laugh
And mock me
Unable to stop them
I surrender, completely
They win, again
As I lose

Never, do I wish
I was someone else
All I wish, is to be myself

The Unimaginable Life

I know we were born to be here again
In the kind of love that you die for
Somethin in the innocent winds
Been callin out to me
Over n over
I would build a castle upon our dreams
Or leave it all behind us in ashes
Just to feel your heart in my heart
A promise and a prayer
To lead n to follow
Voices that call
From an ancient dream
Remind me of a world Ive never known
Chorus:
We are the bridge
We are the fire
n I burn in a river of love
And now I can sing with all my heart
Oh I believe
All that Ive seen in your eyes
An unimaginable life
Something in the way that you say hello
Even to the sound of your heart beat
All seems so familiar to me
My soul-memory of love
Leading me homeward
Voices that call from an ancient dream
The promise of a life Ive never known
We are the bridge
We are the fire
And I burn in a river of love
I know I can sing
With all my heart
Here it begins
Freedom is in your eyes
An unimaginable life
Chorus
n I know I can sing
With all my heart
Oh I believe
Darlin that weve arrived
An unimaginable life
Our unimaginable life

Voices

If only there were a way to find
the return to sanity from an insane mind,
But pills and counseling oh so much
doesn't seem to help those out of touch
with the world about them that you're in
with peace of mind and not the din
of voices you can't hear.

If only the remembrance of a time gone away
could sneak back in for just a day,
But the door has closed on yesterday.
And those voices always seem to stay.
What are they saying? Why are they there?
Where you are it's so hard to bear
the voices that they hear.

If only the world were a different place
where tortured souls would not have to face
the torment inside that is their plight.
Then maybe the voices would leave at night
and find someplace in the universe
to have their say and cast their curse
and rid them of voices they hear.

Voices in my headSHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP! ! !

SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP! ! !
Voices are every where in my head.
They follow me everywhere, like the black cloud that rains.
The voices in my head constantly scratch at my brain.
With in the mist of the rain.

But the living gets painful and harder every single day.
I feel ashamed to admit that i don't want to live,
I don't know how much more i can take or give.
While the voices makes me emotionally sick.
The hold they have on me is so tight and thick,
Voices of bastards who hurt me.
The asswholes that abused me.

The depression they left in my life.
As the voices I try to fight.
I battle in the day i battle in the night

I try and compose myself, let them belive that i'm fine
But happiness is non-existant in this world of mine
When i hear the voices i feel i'm going insane,
As they constantly scratch away at my brain.

All they want to do is hurt me even more.
Brining me to the shore.
They want to bring me to an end

Barren Land

As I walked upon a barren land
I saw pain and destruction from man's hand
What once was alive, no longer did thrive
And what once had stood no longer did stand.
Everywhere that I looked, I saw only death
With no pain, or remorse, or even regret.

GOD must had surely forgotten this place
As all that I felt and saw was hate and waste
No birds were flying, and angels were crying
Faith and hope must of left here in a haste.
I looked and I thought, I tried to care
But I didn't, so I cursed, I did not say a prayer

I began to hear voices as I walked
They started out as whispers then they talked
Persons were nowhere, voices were everywhere
I was being asked to 'not forget' as I was stalked.
Forget what? I then thought to myself
Were the voices from heaven, or were they from hell.

I looked at my hands they were now covered with blood
The boots that I am wearing are now covered with mud
Then I tried to recall, any memories at all
Then they rush back to my mind like a ravenous flood.
I was a soldier, and I fought in a war that day
But I was dead, and I forgot, and to eternity I had lost my way.

Voices Again

Im in my room
Im biding my time
My finger's on the trigger
Committing a crime
My life is good for nothin
And yet I dont know
Im split decision
God, which way should I go
Its all a joke
Humanitys dead
The streets are easy pickins
All bodies and heads
Referring to a fervor
Its hard to rise above
When youre stuck in a hole
Ive been seen and Ive been heard
To think like that is so absurd
And wheres your concentration in a maze
Im hearing voices again
Now Im free
I take what I want
And no one even bothers
To bugger my hunt
A scary contradiction that you fail to believe
Of the horror and the menace
Im about to conceive
Take my hand and mark my words
When I say its all a blur
And cant you see Im asking you for help
Im hearing voices again
Ive got no one to show me
No bars no wall can hold me
You think youre safe with distance
You dont know my persistence
They play with my intentions
Deceiving my perception
This is my last advance
No second chance
Im hearing voices again

Painted Eyes and Ears

All my life I walked around
with painted eyes and ears
Never really seeing what was right before my eyes
never really hearing, the shouts, the screams, the cries
the pain and anger and humiliation
was too much to bare
so I buried it deep down inside
what I saw and heard in fear

I walked around for all those years
ignoring my pain and fears
and closed my heart to all who cared
cause the guilt was too much to bare
then one day I saw a light
that made me think again
of when I was a little girl
before the shame and pain

along the way I was helped by many
who cared for me in vain
cause I still lived in fear
and hid away my shame
and then the lord appeared to me
and came into my heart
and then my family one by one
help stomp out the dark

so now I say to those I love
I thank you from the heart
for taking all my fears away
giving back to me my heart
