On the Portrait of Two Beautiful Young People
A Brother and Sister
O I admire and sorrow! The heart’s eye grieves
Discovering you, dark tramplers, tyrant years.
A juice rides rich through bluebells, in vine leaves,
And beauty’s dearest veriest vein is tears.
Happy the father, mother of these! Too fast:
Not that, but thus far, all with frailty, blest
In one fair fall; but, for time’s aftercast,
Creatures all heft, hope, hazard, interest.
And are they thus? The fine, the fingering beams
Their young delightful hour do feature down
That fleeted else like day-dissolvèd dreams
Or ringlet-race on burling Barrow brown.
She leans on him with such contentment fond
As well the sister sits, would well the wife;
His looks, the soul’s own letters, see beyond,
Gaze on, and fall directly forth on life.
But ah, bright forelock, cluster that you are
Of favoured make and mind and health and youth,
Where lies your landmark, seamark, or soul’s star?
There’s none but truth can stead you. Christ is truth.
There ’s none but good can bé good, both for you
And what sways with you, maybe this sweet maid;
None good but God—a warning wavèd to
One once that was found wanting when Good weighed.
Man lives that list, that leaning in the will
No wisdom can forecast by gauge or guess,
The selfless self of self, most strange, most still,
Fast furled and all foredrawn to No or Yes.
Your feast of; that most in you earnest eye
May but call on your banes to more carouse.
Worst will the best. What worm was here, we cry,
To have havoc-pocked so, see, the hung-heavenward boughs?
Enough: corruption was the world’s first woe.
What need I strain my heart beyond my ken?
O but I bear my burning witness though
Against the wild and wanton work of men.

Soul Sister
Soul sister
You are my soul sister
That God gave to me
And in return God gave you
A soul Brother
That is me
Soul sister
Take god care of yourself
Soul sister
Give yourself a treat once
But don't do it all the time
Because too many treats are not good
And you can end up even being a diebetic like me
Soul sister
God loves you and I
Soul sister
We will grow old someday
Soul sister
Lets give a hand to a senior
Soul sister
Lets worship God together
Soul sister
There are people out there that will hurt us
But we have to keep our eyes open for that
Soul sister
Lets take good care of the earth
That God gave to us
Soul sister
Money doesn't grow on trees
And that is why we have to learn to save money also
Soul sister
Our spirit is alive
And it will be alive each day
That we live our lives here on earth

God bless you
Wherever you are today and always

My Dear Sister Mary
It has been a few years since her I did see
Yet none quite so kind or as lovely as she
A grandmother to John Gregory son of Melissa and her son John
The years ticking by but she keeps keeping on.
As good a person would be so hard to find
As my dear sister Mary so honest and kind
About her she has such a beautiful way
The truth of her here is all that I can say.
Though she lives in New York in the U S of A
A mentor of my childhood and she still is today
I have always looked up to her and her I admire
And of singing her praises I could never tire.
Her deceased husband John was a good man and to him she was a good wife
And together they had such a wonderful life
But fond memories of him her and her son John will always retain
And in the life of John Gregory he lives again
My mentor and sibling much to her I do owe
The seeds of good karma for herself she does sow
She is one who believes on a fair go for all
And only good things about her I have to recall.

My Brother Sarah - Sway B-side
My brother sarah
Doesn't know what clothes to wear
It's a dilemma
To get the stuff to match your hair
But mother and father
Sister and brother
Say they just don't know
My brother sarah
Really wish you understood
Why he's got to show it
For it to be any damn good
But mother and father
Sister and brother
Say they just don't know
My brother lies awake at night
Wishing this world could just be right
But mother and father
Sister and brother
You and all the others
Say you just don't know

A Point Of Honour
``Tell me again; I did not hear: It was wailing so sadly. Nay,
Hush! little one, for mother wants to know what they have to say.
There! At my breast be good and still! What quiets you calms me too.
They say that the source is poisoned; still, it seems pure enough for you!
``I shall bring them to shame, aye one and all, my Father who loves me so,
Dear Mother, a little severe at times, but with story as white as snow,
And sister Effie, so trim and quick, so fair and betrothed so long,
Who will wait for her lover for years and years, but would die at the thought of wrong.
``O don't! For I know what my brother Ralph, if he knew it, would think and say.
He would drive me across the lonely moor, and would curse me all the way;
Would call on the cold wet winds to whip, and the sunshine to pass me by,
And vow that the ditch were too good a grave for a thing as foul as I.
``And then there is grand-dad, worn and white, who can scarcely speak or see,
But sits in the sun in his wicker chair, with the Bible upon his knee.
To him 'twould but sound like a buzzing hive if they talked to him of my fall:
Yet I almost think that I dread his face, turned heavenward, more than all.
``We have never been either rich or poor, but a proud, stiff yeoman stock.
And to think that I am the first to bring sin's scab on a cleanly flock!
The pet lamb, too, as they call me still, the dearest of all their dears!
Hush, little one! But you well may wail, suckled not upon milk, but tears.
``He never will marry me now, that's sure. Who takes a wife with a stain?
How we used to sit in the bluebell wood, and roam through the primrose lane!
And I was thinking of some one else, while the nightingale trilled above.
He alone, I think, will forgive me though, such a wonderful thing is Love.
``Do you think I do not foresee it all?-a mother and not a wife,
A babe but without a father still, and the lack and the shame for life,
The nudge and the sidelong sneer, in church, at market, year out, year in.
But what would you have me do to escape the wages of my sin?
``Give up the child? To whom? To what? To honest and kindly folk
Who have never a chit of their own and long for a wee thing to kiss and stroke,
Who will call it their own, will rear as such, will teach it to lisp and pray:
He will find the money for that and more. There is nothing he will not pay.
``Pay? Well, go on: I am listening hard, for the little one's now at rest.
Just look how it sucks and smiles in sleep on the pillow of mother's breast.
Though I never thought-does Love ever think?-that such was the end of all,
It is wicked, but still for a joy like this I would almost repeat my fall.
``Yes, I understand. He has done his best. O, you make it perfectly clear.
He is doing it all for me, no doubt; he has nothing to face or fear.
But 'tis strange that fathers with gold may pay for their guilt, and can then forget,
And that lasting shame and a broken heart are the share of the mother's debt.
``I have sometimes thought that Nature has against woman some lasting pique,
For she makes us weak where we should be strong, and strong where we might be weak,
Most good when a little badness pays, and bad when 'tis safe being good.
To be always good, and nothing but good, 's the one hope for womanhood.
``And I then should be good, or seem to be, which is pretty well much the same,
Should hold up my head with the straightest then, and be shocked at a sister's shame.
Be called by the Vicar his model maid, be kissed by the Vicar's wife,
And may-be marry an honest man, and be happy and loved for life.
``The hollyhocks now up the garden walk are flowering strong and straight,
The bees are out in the mignonette, and the mossrose lingers late;
The orchard reddens, the acorn cups are thick 'neath the pollard oak,
And up from the old red chimney-stack curls the first blue Autumn smoke.
The kine from the lowland are trailing home, and file betwixt shed and rick,
In the wide brown bowls on the dairy shelf the cream lies smooth and thick;
I can hear the geese in the farmyard pond, I can see the neat new thatch.
Now what if I went there brave and bold, and took courage to lift the latch?
``They never would know, they would cluster round, they would drag me in through the door,
Would fondle and cuddle, and hug and kiss, and pull me down to the floor;
And who should kiss first, and who kiss last, would be all they would think of then;
And at night we should all of us kneel and pray, and I too should say, ``Amen!''
``They never would know; but I should know, and, when they were all asleep,
I should lie awake through the long dark night, and wonder, and sob, and weep,
Through the dear sweet bitter detested past would my wavering fancy roam,
And at dawn I should learn to smile again, for at least I should be at home.
``And where would It be? I must not ask-for I'm to be strong and wise,-
If well or ailing, alive or dead, what colour its hair and eyes,
Never knit a sock for its little feet, to the end never know its name.
There's a shamelessness yet more shameful far than the worst abyss of shame!
``Well, you see I am going. And where? Why, home! Yes, straight unto Father's door,
With this tell-tale thing in my warm weak arms, right over the windy moor.
I shall tremble and stammer and halt, no doubt, and look like a thing accurst,
And so double my fault by my helplessness; and then I shall know the worst.
``If my Mother scolds, I will bow my head; if my sister shrinks, I will weep;
If my brother smites, I will let him smite, for a sin so dark and deep.
But what if my Father rises up, and drives from the door,-what then?
Well, then I will go to the Father of all Who pardoned Magdalen.''

My Brother Bill
This is the sad true story about my brother Bill
who was four years older than me.
He was born and then tossed aside by his mother
who left him to his father’s parents to raise,
then promptly disappeared out of his life forever.
My grandparents brought him up
hoping his father would take care of him
when he returned from the war.
His father also my dad returned from the war
married with another son and didn’t want to know.
They gave him a nickname in private
so no one else would know.
In private, they always called him Dopey.
My sister and I were told
our grandparents had adopted him
and he was nothing to do with us.
When my dad’s parents died in 1958 and 59
plans were made to come back to England
where my mother’s parents were still alive
and leave Bill far behind.
Then as his mother had done eighteen years before
his father abandoned him as well.
For a while, he had to live on the streets
taking handout from where ever he could.
He was arrested for vagrancy and sent to jail.
Getting out he got himself a job and began to build a life.
He got married and started a family,
until one night he came home
and found his wife in bed with another man,
and a divorce followed and he was alone again.
Then after 25 years, his job vanished
and he had to find another.
One day in 2000, he got a telephone call
and did not know whether to believe it or not.
It was a call he never thought he would ever get,
a call from his younger brother - me.
As we talked on the phone, some truths came to pass
his brother and his sister did not know about him.
They were told he had been adopted
and were nothing to do with them.
However, I had found the truth,
which incensed my mother enough to disown me.
We met one another for the first time
after forty-two years in 2001 and again in 2002.
In 2003, this sad story ends,
in the March of that year
Bill succumbed to a heart attack.
His final words were a testament to his life.
No one loved me enough to care.
The sad truth is someone did
and that someone was me.
We never had enough time together,
circumstances kept us apart,
but he was my brother
and will remain in my heart.
2 November 2009
Authors Note:
The facts are as Bill told them to me. A sad refrain to a wonderful guy who was tainted by my parents as being bad and no good. If the truth were known he was probably better than the both of them. He was a guy who would give you the shirt of his back if you needed it. My brother Bill, may he now rest in peace.

Brother & Sister
When I was young
I would scream blue murder
Till I had my own way
Run from the family
And tell of a story to spite my elders
Round and round, the boy
In the garden of lies and science fiction
Brother and sister and father of mine
Keep us together and keep us in line
A lot we depend on a lot we can do
Send love to mother Ill be good to you
To pollute the mind of a minor
The only escape from the rigours of life
Pretend were a family and believe
In the virtues of truth
Round and round, caught up
In a garden of lies and deception
Brother and sister and father of mine
Keep us together and keep us in line
A lot we depend on a lot we can do
Send love to mother Ill be good to you
Round and round and round and round

False
False! Good God, I am dreaming!
No, no, it never can be-
You who are so true in seeming,
You, false to your vows and me?
My wife and my fair boy's mother
The star of my life-my queen-
To yield herself to another
Like some light Magdalene!
Proofs! what are proofs-I defy them!
They never can shake my trust;
If you look in my face and deny them
I will trample them into the dust.
For whenever I read of the glory
Of the realms of Paradise,
I sought for the truth of the story
And found it in your sweet eyes.
Why, you are the shy young creature
I wooed in her maiden grace;
There was purity in each feature,
And my heaven I found in your face.
And, 'not only married but mated,'
I would say in my pride and joy;
And our hopes were all consummated
When the angels gave us our boy.
Now you could not blot that beginning
So beautiful, pure and true,
With a record of wicked sinning
As a common woman might do.
Look up in your old frank fashion,
With your smile so free from art;
And say that no guilty passion
Has ever crept into your heart.
How pallid you are, and you tremble!
You are hiding your face from view!
'Tho' a sinner, you cannot dissemble'-
My God! then the tale is true?
True and the sun above us
Shines on in the summer skies?
And men say the angels love us,
And that God is good and wise.
Yet he lets a wanton thing like you
Ruin my home and my name!
Get out of my sight ere I strike you
Dead in your shameless shame!
No, no, I was wild, I was brutal;
I would not take your life,
For the efforts of death would be futile
To wipe out the sin of a wife.
Wife-why, that word has seemed sainted,
I uttered it like a prayer.
And now to think it is tainted-
Christ! how much we can bear!
'Slay you!' my boy's stained mother-
Nay, that would not punish, or save;
A soul that has outraged another
Finds no sudden peace in the grave.
I will leave you here to
remember
The Eden that was your own,
While on toward my life's December
I walk in the dark alone.

Sister can you know
Love
Touch life with the charm of soul
Love as star shines
As the rain falls
Love smiles
Thinking about love
Wondering if she love
Is strong in brother heart
She said sweet talking man
You mister sweet talking man
Yet the truth must be heard
Watch out love coming
Surrender try one love
Close to find what brings
The sister to accepted the brother
Walk talk love
Feel the blessing
Of the eyes of love on life
It about the sister with brown eyes
Smiles that warm the heart
It about sister with the braids
About skin kiss by YAH love
Just right the shade darkness
It a dream come to life
In sister of soul

Rendition of the Soul
wish to be right, though not perfect, the aim
high lead to low, what more i can do, but
to do the right direction my Mama and Papa
want me so
all my life lives in my sweet Daddy and
Mommy my sister my brother gives me all
what i say, they never told me not to cry, until
i remember the story of the falling angel who
once to be happy
days and night, my heart wonder, why people
want to be free and at the end of that day, tears
fall to the ground of no where to be found in
their heart so sad, even ready to be fire ring
squad, in front of the one they love
like a thirst of the hand that never drunk and
in the eyes that can't see; bring me then back
the old hand that call, thy bosom arm my heart
is so cool, let me ask some pity in the tears that
flows, taste it seems its empty, for thy soul
wanted to see, the bastion of the One whom
comes with the heart that hold in the soul that
folds
here i am, open my lonely heart, and hear the
rendition of my soul....all comes in you Lord,
promise that I may fall in your mercy
i am full......

My Friend Depression
Looking for an end, an easy way out
I contemplate suicide but then my head fills with doubt
I want my life to be taken, but not by myself
I couldnt do that, not to my sister, my angel of wealth
But if it was taken by any other way
Good riddence to me I guess, thats all we can say
Too many, even family say I'm good for nothing
So why cant it end, please stop my pain and suffering
I always wonder when the lord will give me a call
I guess until then I'll continue to fall
Fall down deep, into something i call depression
Forgive me lord I have many sins, I've never been good at confession
I've lied, stole, and even done drugs
I've kicked out the good people, and hung with nothing but thugz
I've watched my life go from good to bad
Basically I've thrown away all the good I once had
So now its just me, me and MY FRIEND DEPRESSION
Is this my punishment, is this how I learn a lesson?
If it is lord thats completely okay
But if your gonna punish me please do it all the way
cuz there's nothing left in me, take my life today
I'm greatful for what I had, but please oh please

Sister of Heart
Sister of heart
Sister of soul
How can I tell you
what my mind knows
To explain my reasoning
Is a distasteful seasoning
Sister of heart
Sister of soul
Sister of mind
that is unknown
When I am falling
It's you I am calling
To ease the pain
You keep me sane
Sister I love
I hurt as well
I cause pain to swell
in your heart
Sister I know
we don't always see
each other perfectly
But try I will
endeavor I shall
The laughs and love
I'll never forget
the day we met
Sister of mind
Sister of soul
It's you I shall always owe
My gratitude
My protection
Sister of pain
I will share mine
and take yours far away
Sister of anger
Hatred is fine
but keep close in mind
also is forgiveness divine
Forever or longer
I will not let our differences
change our hearts
Forever together
sooner apart
Sister of soul
Sister of heart

Young Zed Next Door
Patrick and Fleur have a baby daughter Arabella a little sister for young Zed next door
And he's so happy with his new born sibling and he himself still so young only four
And when you ask him how's his baby sister with a happy smile he answers she is good
These are the happiest days he will remember the foundation to a good life a happy childhood.
A fair haired boy with a cheerful disposition in years from now doubtless he will recall
His happy days in Watt street in Wonthaggi for good childhood memories are the best of all
His life journey may take him from Wonthaggi and he yet may live in a Land far away
But the miracle of the birth of Arabella through his life span with him destined to stay.
Young Zed next door is learning about Nature how birds and bees take nectar from the flowers
The honeyeaters sing in the back garden and magpie blows his flute in Spring's green hours
In Nature's garden natural growth is vibrant and blossoms bloom after the brief Spring showers
And childhood like Spring is such a time of beauty children's lives so spiritual when compared to ours.
I envy Zed his joy and innocence of childhood his young and happy soul full of sunshine
Long years ago and in a different country such joy and happiness was also mine
In Spring the World around me full of beauty and the lark was carolling in the clear blue sky
And wild brown bees out busy gathering nectar buzzing above the fields of Lisnaboy.
Young Zed next door is full of life and vigour he's such a cheerful and a happy boy
And the miracle of the birth of his young sister Arabella is
a thing he will look back on and enjoy
And in years from now these times he will remember though from Wonthaggi he may live far away
For happy childhood memories are the best of memories and through our life span with us tend to stay.

Why Good or Why is it Bad?
The first time mankind found out the secret in paradise,
When they ate the forbidden fruit of good and bad for a surprise.
Since then people call happenings how they see,
Ignoring the truth, knowing not it is just positive and negative in Thee.
If one is searching for the truth can find it easily,
Many times bad can turn out good and good can turn into tragic suddenly.
All problems in our life comes from our own mind,
Without the truth we are pawns in this world, we are deaf and blind.
All the great teaching tell us that we have the free will,
If you think you can rule over others or the universe, you are ill.
The free will means you can choose between Life or malediction,
Follow your own feelings, have faith in God's goodness
Don't mind opposition.
We are here to learn and teach on the way we are able,
Stop calling names good or bad, go forward in peace and confidence.
Put your work on God's table.
Then, He will give you the understanding to every detail,
You'll find true contentment, happiness and the right trail.
If you really believe, that you do His work, don't question, don't oppose,
Do what you feel in the moment without any remorse.
Know, that God works thru you, let His will be done,
Let no man judge you for it, it is the business of none.
Then you'll have peace and contentment in your soul and spirit,
Health in your body and paradise you'll inhabit,
You'll understand the meaning to live forever,
All the teaching will be clear; you'll never be a pawn or a stranger.

Hope is good thing to hope.
I hope my family get a long like they use too
I hope God finds away to bring my brother
back from drugs
I hope my father stays in my life and don't
take off life he did before when I was a baby
I hope before I am 30 years old I be marriage
and have family like my friends do
I hope my dreams I want out of life comes true
I hope me wanting to hope is not dumb
I hope is right thing to do in life
I hope I get in to college
I hope my mom finds good guy beside
jerks
I hope who I am with doesn't hurt me
or break my heart like guys did with
my mom
I hope my brother leaves this girl that
keep him away from his family
I hope Amber will always be my best friend
I hope Rusty doesn't every leave me
I hope God helps find away for us
to be together me and Rusty
I hope my family is happy
I hope my friends are happy and thankful
for what they have in life
I hope when Jennifer gets marriager it doesn't
be life her last one ended bad
I hope everyone learns how good is to hope
and pray for things you need.
I hope everyone thankful and glad to be here
in this world.

Good For Your Soul
Have you ever felt that somehow
You were not yourself
That your body was the same
But everything around you wasnt right
And images so strange and foreign
Flooded in like raging water
Have you ever been in love
With someone you hardly knew
Whereas every time you closed your eyes,
You saw this person come alive
It kept you wide awake at night
You felt like you were burning up
In pain, you want to scream
Then you passed out in a dream
Chorus
Just once or twice is good for your soul
Just once or twice is good for your soul
If you dont stop, youll lose control
Just once or twice is good for your soul
Every lay there half asleep all hours of the night
With some nagging demon tugging at that tiny bell
Inside your mind
When suddenly that strange idea
Bursts into an inspiration
You grab for it and then
The whole thing slips right through your fingers
Chorus
Just once or twice is good for your soul
Just once or twice is good for your soul
Just once or twice is good for your soul
Just once or twice is good for your soul
Its good for your soul
Its good for your soul
Its good for your soul
Its good for your soul

Premonition
DEAR heart, good-night!
Nay, list awhile that sweet voice singing
When the world is all so bright,
And the sound of song sets the heart a-ringing,
Oh, love, it is not right—
Not then to say, 'Good-night.'
Dear heart, good-night!
The late winds in the lake weeds shiver,
And the spray flies cold and white.
And the voice that sings gives a telltale quiver —
'Ah, yes, the world is bright,
But, dearest heart, good-night!'
Dear heart, good-night!
And do not longer seek to hold me!
For my soul is in affright
As the fearful glooms in their pall enfold me.
See him who sang how white
And still; so, dear, good-night.
Dear heart, good-night!
Thy hand I'll press no more forever,
And mine eyes shall lose the light;
For the great white wraith by the winding river
Shall check my steps with might.
So, dear, good-night, good-night!

The war Widow
I.
Black-veiled, black-gowned, she rides in bus and train,
With eyes that fill too listlessly for tears.
Her waxen hands clasp and unclasp again.
_Good News_, they cry. She neither sees nor hears.
Good News, perhaps, may crown some far-off king.
Good News may peal the glory of the state--
Good News may cause the courts of heaven to ring.
She sees a hand waved at a garden gate.
For her dull ears are tuned to other themes;
And her dim eyes can never see aright.
She glides--a ghost--through all her April dreams,
To meet his eyes at dawn, his lips at night.
Wraiths of a truth that others never knew;
And yet--for her--the only truth that's true.
II.
_Good News! Good News!_ There is no way but this.
Out of the night a star begins to rise.
I know not where my soul's deep Master is;
Nor can I hear those angels in the skies;
Nor follow him, as childhood used of old,
By radiant seas, in those time-hallowed tales.
Only, at times, implacable and cold,
From this blind gloom, stand out the iron nails.
Yet, at this world's heart stands the Eternal Cross,
The ultimate frame of moon and star and sun,
Where Love with out-stretched arms, in utter loss,
Points East and West and makes the whole world one.
_Good News! Good News!_ There is no hope, no way,
No truth, no life, but leads through Christmas Day.

On Friendship
A soul to talk to,
Share secrets;
A soul who walks you
Through life’s stress…
A soul to laugh with,
and to cry;
Someone who makes
your tears go dry...
A soul dependable,
Who consoles;
A soul, you’re proud of,
And who cares…
A soul who’s priceless,
More than wealth;
Someone who keeps you
In good health…
A soul who affords
timely help;
Someone who gives you
right advice…
A soul with mind,
almost like yours’;
Someone who feels
like how you would…
A well-wisher;
A comforter;
A body-part
like your own heart…
A selfless soul,
Who keeps you whole;
A part of life
You dare not part…
And rarely friends too
blunders make;
And make you cry
More than your foes!
Good friends;
Thick friends;
Fine friends;
Best friend…
And that’s what friendship’s
all about;
Friends share your hardships,
joys, no doubt!

Truth Of The Heart
I hear your questions
I see your face
Your life before you
Is full of grace
What can I tell you
To let you know
Your angel's eyes
Will watch you grow
Come listen close
And I'll try to let you know
It's all I know
There is no magic
There are no secrets
We all begin this race at the start
But I have come this far
With a truth of the heart
Deep down inside
I think we're all the same
Try not to judge someone
And never shame
I do believe that people are good
They just want hope and respect
And to be understood
Sometimes it hard sometimes it's strange
But the truth of the heart is people can change
Yes there is danger and there are shadows
And there is fear inside the dark
It has powered countries and borne religion
Fear can never rule the heart
My father's burden
My mother's rain
My own desire
My sister's pain
All souls have traveled along this road
Each one has carried their own heavy load
