Violets
Violets, shy violets!
How many hearts with you compare!
Who hide themselves in thickest green,
And thence, unseen,
Ravish the enraptured air
With sweetness, dewy fresh and rare!
Violets, shy violets!
Human hearts to me shall be
Viewless violets in the grass,
And as I pass,
Odours and sweet imagery
Will wait on mine and gladden me!

Roses Are Red Violets Are Blue
Roses are red
Violets are blue
I've never found someone as patient
As you
Roses are red
Violets are blue
If you get lost
Then I'll look for you
Roses are red
Violets are blue
You know I'm always sorry
When I hurt you
Roses are red
Violets are blue
If I could
Id turn back to when i first kissed you
Roses are red
Violets are blue
If you don't believe me
Then what else can I do
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Baby no one knows me
As much as you
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Believe I'll do anything
To get next to you
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Tell me you still love me
And I'll run to you
Roses are red
Violets are blue
You might not know
But I love you
Roses are red
Violets are blue
The stars shine bright
But not as bright as you do
Roses are red
Violets are blue
If I could pick anyone
I would pick you
Roses are red
Violets are blue
The first day I saw you
That's when I knew
Roses are red
Violets are blue
No one will ever love you
As much as I do
Roses are red violets are blue
Even if you get me mad
I'll still be in love with you
Roses are red
Violets are blue
My heart skips a beat
When I'm laying next to you
Roses are red
Violets are blue
If you love me
Then show me that that love is true

Roses are red, Violets are blue.....(romantic)
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
they wouldn't be red or blue,
without you,
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I'll be stuck to you,
like glue,
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Poems express my love,
you do too!
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
It'll always be me,
and you.
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I can never explain,
how much I love you...

No Violets
There was a land where lived no violets.
A traveller at once demanded : 'Why?'
The people told him:
'Once the violets of this place spoke thus:
'Until some woman freely gives her lover
To another woman
We will fight in bloody scuffle.''
Sadly the people added:
'There are no violets here.'

Violets For Your Furs
Tom adair / matt dennis
It was winter in manhattan
Falling snowflakes filled the air
The streets were covered with a film of ice
But a little simple magic that Id heard about somewhere
Changed the weather all around, just withn a trice
You bought me violets for my furs
And it was spring for a while, remember?
You bought me violets for my furs
And there was april in that december
The snow drifted on the flowers and melted where it lay
The snow looked leke dew on the blossoms
As on a summer day
You bought me violets for my furs
Aand there was blue in the wintry sky
You pinned the violets to my furs
And gave a lift to the crowds passing by
You smiled at me so sweetly
Since then one thought occurs
That we fell in love completely
The day you bought me violets for my furs

Roses Are Blue Violets Are Red
Roses are blue, violets are red
get that thought out of your head.
I have a crooked smile/wicked grin,
I'm your 'precioius' evil twin.
Roses are red violets are blue
I have lustful thoughts of you.
Bring me some red wine,
I will be your Sweet Valentine.
Roses are blue violets are red
Who said we can’t go to ____?
I guess I’m way too much fun,
You know l will always be number One.

Roses Are Red. Violets Are Blue.
Roses are red with blood from the thorns of love
Red with the hearts they have slain
Red with the fire, the passion, the anger
Roses, the warriors of love.
Violets are blue like the tears that hold the sky
Blue with the cold fire which heat has long since deserted
Blue, like Romeo's lips as the cordial took his life
Violets, the salute to a love lost.
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
This is my poem
Adieu.

A Coronal
WITH HIS SONGS AND HER DAYS TO HIS LADY AND TO LOVE
Violets and leaves of vine,
Into a frail, fair wreath
We gather and entwine:
A wreath for Love to wear,
Fragrant as his own breath,
To crown his brow divine,
All day till night is near.
Violets and leaves of vine
We gather and entwine.
Violets and leaves of vine
For Love that lives a day,
We gather and entwine.
All day till Love is dead,
Till eve falls, cold and gray,
These blossoms, yours and mine,
Love wears upon his head,
Violets and leaves of vine
We gather and entwine.
Violets and leaves of vine,
For Love when poor Love dies
We gather and entwine.
This wreath that lives a day
Over his pale, cold eyes,
Kissed shut by Proserpine,
At set of sun we lay:
Violets and leaves of vine
We gather and entwine.

O Wind, Where Have You Been
O wind, where have you been,
That you blow so sweet?
Among the violets
Which blossom at your feet.
The honeysuckle waits
For Summer and for heat.
But violets in the chilly Spring
Make the turf so sweet.

Setting the scene for M lady Lucianne
Few know where shy white violets grow
but I am one of those who do.
Just take my hand and we will go
together to a place I know.
I am prepared to share with you
But you must swear you will not tell
a single soul for if you do.
Too many folks will go there to
grub up the plants and take them home
to plant them in their garden plot.
Where other folks are not welcome
I would not mind if they took some.
But know quite well they’ll take them all
and leave not one single plant behind.
Their greed would be the plants downfall.
There would be none for us to find.
When we go walking hand in hand
along this pretty lovers lane.
I know my love you understand.
The violets grow where nature planned.
That white violets are very rare,
they are not meant to be confined.
They do not need a gardeners care
You will see when we get there.
Their beauty in a natural state.
Where they were intended to be,
I know you will appreciate
why I swear you to secrecy.
But I trust you implicitly
I know that you will not betray
the shy white violets or me.
You are the soul of honesty.
That’s why I am in love with you.
Not only are you sweet and kind
but to your word you’re always true.
and do what you say you will do.
When we get there I will propose
and hope that you will answer yes.
I think you have guessed my purpose
and know exactly why I chose.
To show my violets to you
today and now in early spring,
In fact I am convinced you do.
You know me far too well not to.

Eleven today
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Today you're eleven
That's nine add on two.
Now ten is behind you
And twelve is to come
When riding your bike
Don't fall on your bum.
A six and a five
Make eleven as well
Your maths are so good
This I don't need to tell.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Legs are eleven
But you've only TWO!
Eleven is better
Than ten any day
That's what I think
And I'm going to say:
'Roses are red
Violets are blue,
Eleven is lovely
And so too are you.'

All the violets are wilted, roses are dead...
Roses are red, violets are blue,
Say that you love me, tell me you do,
But the violets have wilted, the roses are dead,
Unlike the voices, so loud in you head,
You fought like a soldier, you were so brave,
But too weak for your mind, which kept you a slave,
People were blind, they did not see through,
The fake smiles and lies that became of you,
You tried hard, though all in vain,
For the demons still lurked in your brain,
The light was gone, her last breath taken,
Asleep forever, she would not awaken,
For the violets have wilted, roses are dead,
Away from herself, the young girl had fled.

Who Hath Despised The Day Of Small Things?
As violets so be I recluse and sweet,
Cheerful as daisies unaccounted rare,
Still sunward-gazing from a lowly seat,
Still sweetening wintry air.
While half-awakened Spring lags incomplete,
While lofty forest trees tower bleak and bare,
Daisies and violets own remotest heat
And bloom and make them fair.
