Apache Rose Peacock
Sittin' on a sack of beans
Sittin' down in New Orleans
You wouldn't believe what I've seen
Sitting on that sack of beans
Lunatics on pogo sticks
Another southern fried freak on a crucifix
Hicks don't mix with politics
People on the street just kickin' to the licks
Yes my favorite place to be
Is not a land called Honah Lee (MI.)
Mentally or physically
I wanna be in New Orleans
Oh good brother just when I thought
That I had seen it all
My eyes popped out

I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.

Dirty Martini
Two in the morning there's a drink in my hand
(Dirt, dirt, dirty Martini)
Nothing moving the place but sweat
I heard a rumour 'bout a Cajun band
(Dirt, dirt, dirty Martini)
The bartender says it's early yet
Wait the bartender says it's early yet
Too many olives in too much gin
Steppin' out in the City of Sin
Too much dirty rice and too many beans
Gettin' down and dirty down in New Orleans
Gettin' down and dirty down in New Orleans
Have another, i believe i will
(Dirt, dirt, dirty Martini)
And you can stir it with a dirty spoon
There's a perscription i've gotta fill
(Dirt, dirt, dirty Martini)
And the Doctor's gonna be here soon
Jimmy says the Doctor's gonna be here soon
Too many olives in too much gin
Steppin' out in the City of Sin
Too much dirty rice and too many beans

Sittin On Top Of The World
Never seen a sky so blue
Never been happy with anyone
Like I am when Im with you, yeah
Look at the sun shining up in the sky
I feel a little closer to heaven, baby
When Im looking into your eyes
And as long as were together, boy
Im sittin on top of the world
Wanna feel this way forever, boy
Im sittin on top of the world
Last night I lay in the dark
Tryin to figure it out
Tryin to talk to my heart,
Now its morning, and I still dont know why
All I know is that you got me feeling so good, baby
All I know is that it feels the way that true love should
Aint no one luckier than you and i
As long as were together, boy
Im sittin on top of the world
Wanna feel this way forever, boy
Im sittin on top of the world
Everybodys got an opinion bout how this should be
But they dont understand it
No, no they just cant see, yeah
That I belong with you and baby, baby
Baby, you belong with me
As long as were together, boy
Im sittin on top of the world
Wanna feel this way forever, boy
Im sittin on top of the world, yeah
Now, as long as were together, boy
Im sittin on top of the world
Said, Im sittin on top, sittin on top of the world
My baby loves me cause my babys so good to me.
I know he needs me cause babys so good to me.
No, I never been happy, baby,
Like I am when I get next to you

Planet Of New Orleans
Standin on the corner
Of toulouse and dauphine
Waitin on marie-ondine
Im tryin to place a tune
Under a louisiana moonbeam
On the planet of new orleans
In a bar they call the saturn
And in her eyes of green
And somethin that she said in a dream
Inside of my suit I got my mojo root
And a true love figurine
For the planet of new orleans
New orleans - the other planet
With other life upon it
And everythin thats shakin in between
If you should ever land upon it
You better know whats on it
The planet of new orleans
Now Im tryin to find my way
Through the rain and the steam
Im lookin straight ahead through the screen
And then I heard her say
Somethin in the limousine
bout takin a ride across the planet of new orleans
If she was an ace
And I was just a jack
And the cards were never seen
We could have been the king and queen
But she took me back to her courtyard
Where magnolia perfume screams
Behind the gates and the granite
Of the planet of new orleans

Orleans
My sister was named Orleans
After the town where she was born,
Dear Orleans, my best friend,
A little girl with hazel eyes,
Dear Orleans, please don’t cry,
Hold my hand and stay with me,
And never say good bye.
My sister grew up beautiful
Like so many little girls do,
My sister Orleans, late one night,
Danced with a man named Lou.
Dear Orleans, please come home,
Mama and daddy and I
Are waiting here for you.
My sister never came home that night,
And daddy called the law,
Mama paced the floor till dawn
And wrung her hands till they were raw,
Dear Orleans, we waited till
The police came to our house
And told us what they saw.
My sister had been ravished bad
And left to die alone.
The man called Lou had fled the town
And by morning he was gone.
Dear Orleans, thank God you lived,
Though you’ll never be the same,
At least you’re safe at home.
My sister Orleans grew a life
Conceived through hate and fear;
We tried to hide it from the town
But soon it became clear.
Dear Orleans, hid her shame
As day by day she swelled
And the baby’s birth drew near.
My sister thrashed and cried in bed
On the day the sun was high;
She begged for mercy and release
Till we heard the infant cry
Dear Orleans, reached out for him
I wrapped him in a towel
And watched her baby die.

Dont Quote Me On That
Its all eggs bacon beans and a fried slice.
Did you see the one, yeah yeah,
The one they wrote in the paper just the other day,
Well, well would you believe it,
Well what I said, they took it all the wrong way.
Now youve gotta be careful, bout what you say,
Cos theyve got a bad habit
Were you reading in between the lines?
Or is that what I said? , now I just cant remember
They seem to have a very good memory though
But as far as Im concerned, as as far as Im concerned
You don;t have to be black white, chinese or anything really
Just enjoy, shut up, listen and dance...
Its all eggs bacon beans and a fried slice
Dont quote me on that, dont quote me on that
Dont quote me on that, please dont quote me
Dont quote me on that
Dont quote me on that
Hey hey, you know something, I said I liked that guy,
But thats not what I read in the paper
I dont have anything against them,
Its just eggs bacon and a fried slice
Dont quote me on that dont quote me on that
Dont quote me on that please dont quote me
Dont quoe me on that
Dont quote me on that.
You know, now we get worried about what we say
We shouldnt be that way
You know, I dont care who comes,
Cos as far as Im concerned,
Its, eggs bacon beans and a fried slice
Dont quote me on that
Dontr quote me on that
Please dont quote me
Mama mama, you know Im still friends with mickey
They say I shouldnt like him anymore, because Im all white,
Well hes allright by me
Dont quote me on that
Please dont quote me
Dont quote me on that
Dont quote me on that
Now what I do, I bring all my old friends along to see the show
And if you have the wrong ideas well,
Its all eggs bacon beans and a fried slice
Dont quote me on that oh no
(dont quote me on that)
Please dont quote me
(dont quote me on that)
I never said that
(dont quote me on that)
Thats not what I meant
(dont quote me on that)
Well I suppose you could take it that way
(dont quote me on that)
But thats not what I meant to say
(dont quote me on that)
Wont you give me another chance
(dont quote me on that)
Please please
Dont quote me on that....
Id like to say thank you to pete, peter tosh
And all the other people who come and they believe in us for the fun and the music
Cos all Ive got to say to you press now is
Its all bacon beans and a fried slice
Eggs bacon beans and a fried slive
Go to maggies caff
132 liverpool road
Just down the road, just round the corner
Only theres not much corner
Its just chairs and tables and theyve even got a space invaders machine...
A cup of tea, thats fine for me,
Cos its all eggs bacon beans and a fried slive
Are you sure you turned that tape recorder off?
Are you sure? ,
Are you sure?

Lovin You
If youve been wonderin what Im gonna do
While you are sleepin, am I sleepin, too
Well I just sittin here lovin you
Close my eyes an lovin you
Im just sittin back, sittin here lovin you
An I have been wonderin just what I would do
If I werent sleepin, had I not found you
Well Id be outside findin you
Id be walkin on the avenue findin you
Well, Im just sittin back, sittin here lovin you
Now the reason that you never see me runnin round
Fingers on my forehead couldnt calm me down
An he cant even get me up and on my feet
When Ive got to take care of some business on the street
I have been walkin all my streets alone
But I wont keep walkin to keep from goin home
Couldnt quite barely concieve of you
Aw, an Im just sittin back, sittin here lovin you
If youve been wonderin what Im gonna do
While you are sleepin, am I sleepin, too
Well I just sittin here lovin you
I just close my eyes an lovin you
Aw, an Im just sittin back sittin here lovin you

Johnny B. Goode
He came from louisiana, close to new orleans
Way back up in the woods up near the evergreens
There stood a log cabin made of earth and wood
Where lived a country boy named johnny b. goode
He never ever learned to read or write so well
But he could play the guitar just like a ringing a bell
Go go
Go johnny go go
Go johnny go go
Go johnny go go
Go johnny go go
Johnny b. goode
He used to carry his guitar in a gunney sack
And sit beneath the trees by the railroad tracks
Engineers would see him sittin' in the shade
Strummin' to the rhythm that the drivers made
And people passing by would stop and say
My my but that little country boy can play
Go go
Go johnny go go
Go johnny go go
Go johnny go go
Go johnny go go
Johnny b. goode

Is it Tea or Coffee?
Is it Tea or Coffee?
Tell me!
My instant early morning dream
I like it black, white with sugar or cream!
The choice is free
Yet the mind cannot agree
With Tea is a Yippee!
With Coffee it is a Whoopee!
The thought of a little caffeine
The smell of fresh roasted beans
Will once again set off my adrenalin
While my exhausted brain is waiting
That stirring cup of sizzling black
Put on the kettle; spill the beans out of the sack
I will pay the fee; I will pay the levee
I will beg on one knee for a little bit of Coffee
Take a sip of the early morning coffee
Close your eyes and try to see
As you smell the airy aroma like a bee
Tea or Coffee! Perhaps you now understand me
Those swarms of dark brown seeds
They feed my vicious needs indeed
I don’t care how much I pee or how much I wee
For that sparking liquid of hot black called coffee

"my my, but that little country boy can play!"
His mamma told him "someday you will be a man."
You will be the leader of a big old band
Many people comin' from miles around
To hear you play your music when the sun goes down.
Maybe someday your name will be in lights.

Louisiana Purchase
Louisiana purchase, I'll tell you what it means
It means I'd like to sell you New Orleans
Come on, come on
And you all can go to town way down in New Orleans
Louisiana salesman with nothing in his jeans
That's why I'd like to sell you New Orleans
Come on, come on
And do all the things there are to do in New Orleans
Where does that heat come from?
That rhythmic beat come from?
And that red meat come from?
New Orleans
Louisiana purchase, I told you what it means
So won't you let me sell you New Orleans?
Come on, come on
And you all can go to town way down in New Orleans

Way Down Yonder In New Orleans
Way down yonder in new orleans
In the land of the dreamy scenes
Theres a garden of eden...you know what I mean
Creole babies with flashin eyes
Softly whisper their tender sighs
Then stop....wont you give your lady fair...a little smile
Stop..ya bet your life youll linger there...a little while
Weve got heaven right here on earth
With those beautiful queens
Way down yonder in new...orleans

Youre gonna find heaven right here on earth

Jelly Beans
I love my jelly beans
I even love machines
That make my jelly beans
Red, pink, purple, and blue
I will all chew
If only you knew
I'd even eat them out of my shoe
One bean, two beans, three beans, a million
I'd even eat one hundred billion
I'd eat them non stop
I'd eat them right in the candy shop
I'd eat them until my tummy would pop
You can never have to many
I never heard of anyone that didn't have any
People always have plenty
Eat until I don't have anymore
Always wish I had some more...
...Back to my candy drawer

New Orleans
(words & music by tepper - bennett)
Youll never know
What heaven means
Until youve been down to new orleans
You aint been livin till you cuddle and coo
With some black-eyed baby by de old bayou
Youve never seen
Youve never seen those cupid doll queens
Like they got em in new orleans
And, ooh, they love you like no-one can
It makes you awful glad that you were born a man.
If-if-if you aint been there
Then you aint been nowhere
The livins lazy and the lovins fine
If you feel low down
So help me hannah
You should lose the blues in loui-si-i-si-ana.
Get the lead
Get the lead out of your jeans
And hot foot it down, hot foot down to where?
New orleans
Louisiana baby tells you stay awhile
Live it up, love it up, southern style
Way down in new new orleans.

Sitting By Heaven's Door
My love without two being together
Through the good times and stormy weather
Ooh, but you fall for us
It should lose in you sudden darkness
You should always know I'll always be
Sittin' by heaven's door (Mmmhmmhmmmmm)
Waiting for you to come home (I'm waiting on you to come back home, oh baby)
Sittin' by heaven's door (Oohoohhoobaby)
Waiting for you to come home (I'll be waiting, no hesitating)
Hohoall I know is from this day on
We bond as one forever more
No way, no way we can lose, mmm
And any mountain we can move
With a team who beat the game called love
And, oh, oh, ooh, ooh
You know the time will come
When life will end somehow
And one of us is left without the other
If it happens to be me
Don't worry much, darling
I'll leave a passage to my heart and this is where I'll be
With the key in my hand
Sittin' by heaven's door (Hoooohooh)
Waiting for you to come home (I'm waitin' for you, baby, ooh, yeah)
Sittin' by heaven's door (Hoooohoohooh)
Waiting for you to come home (Waiting, baby, for you)
Sittin' by heaven's door (Hoo)
Waiting for you to come home
Sittin' by heaven's door (Hoo)
Waiting for you to come home
Sittin' by heaven's door (I'm waitin', anticipating, yeah)
Waiting for you to come home (Come on, come on, baby, ooh, yeah)
Sittin' by heaven's door (Come on home to me, yeah, oohhoo)
Waiting for you to come home (Come on, baby, come on, baby, come on, baby)
Sittin' by heaven's door (Come on, baby, come on, baby, come on, baby, come on, baby)
Waiting for you to come home (Come on, baby, come on, baby, come on, baby, come on, baby)
Sittin' by heaven's door (Now come on back, come on, baby, oh, come on, baby, come on, baby)
Waiting for you to come home (Come on, come on, come on, come on, baby)

He was happy, happy, happy
And he ate some beans
Naked, naked, naked
Sitting cross-legged
Naked, naked, naked
And he was happy, happy, happy
And he ate some beans
Wine, wine, wine
Jessie had some wine
He was happy, happy, happy
And he ate some wine

And he drank some wine
And he was happy, happy, happy

The flood have lifted up, O lord
Down deep below sea level, New Orleans.
The mighty water came, O lord
Down deep below sea level, New Orleans.
God gonna trouble the waters, O lord
Down deep below sea level, New Orleans.
Many people lost homes and lives, O lord

Your eyes shine line diamonds
And those kisses sure make me scream
There aint nothin like love on the bayou
Honey I know you know what I mean
