Down Memory Lane

I went for a trip one day down memory lane
and everything at first seemed to be quite plain
but as I paid more attention there began to see
certain things that I thought no longer could be.

Whatever good or bad experiences happened there in the past
were looming now before my minds eye and I became aghast.
So many vague images appeared all like an illusion
one after another or together causing some confusion.

In a matter of a few moments I witnessed so much
more than one could normally ever want to as such.
These memories of events and images appeared quite fast
that it was difficult telling how long in my vision did last.

Some demanded more attention than many others it seemed
yet there were those that all faded just when being gleamed.
Like a fast moving motion picture showing in between
they all paraded on the center stage of my mental screen.

Good and bad played themselves out against light and dark
reminding me that they’re both aspects of life that’s stark.
Particularly where judgement of a case has been too extreme
which leaves behind a feeling of justice not being supreme.

Those unpleasant memories buried deep within our mind
can all be replaced by better ones of a much happier kind.
When anyone responds favourably to an adverse situation
that reaction is more conducive to our happiness in relation.

Strange Kind Of Love

I once thought I had the love of God in my heart;
a feeling of oneness in which everyone is a part.
But as time went by and the days passed
that feeling of oneness did not really last.

I would search inside my heart to try and find
the love of God I thought had been left behind.
But as I looked eagerly there like a bloodhound
what I seemed to come across was less profound.

Then in the darkness of my mind I began to see a light;
It was coming and going, unsteady, to my inner sight.
The longer that I looked at it in wonder each day,
it seemed to speak to me without any words to say.

I would often marvel in awe how this could be
a spark of faith and hope from deep inside me.
So each day I would praise God in my heart with love
dedicating all action, words and thought to Him above.

The Love of God returned it seemed in some way
as a feeling of oneness swelled in my heart to play.
Life seemed sweet, almost as if too good to be true
and many things that were old appeared to be new.

I began also to know things which before went over my head
and to fathom the mysteries of what in books had been read.
It was in daily life experiences though that the truth shined through
as my mind was refined to witness what the Others taught and knew.

I would grasp and revel in subtle things which were lofty and divine
and then go about each day as if I was drunk on some kind of wine.
Everything all around seemed to be holy and possessed a hidden light,
encompassing all creatures and objects, that was revealed to my sight.

Memories

When people speak of memories they say the good usually outshines the bad, unfortunately thats not true in my case and it's actually pretty sad

We're suppose to be different but all we are, are hypocrites, I could write down every bad memory you've caused me, but I'd end up with way too long of a list

There were nights of screaming and shouting and nights where we all caused each other pain, there were nights when not one of us didn't go to bed feeling ashamed

There were nights when I wondered if this was always to be our fate and nights when all of you I finally began to hate

There are days and nights still when the past comes back to haunt me, no matter how hard I try to forget, still these memories come back to taunt me

How long will this go on? I really don't know, but I can guarantee you this, these stupid memories will always be my biggest foe

When people speak of memories they say the good usually outweighs the bad, unfortunately that isn't true in my case and honestly it makes me pretty mad

Memories

Memories
Fading pictures of the past
Destroyed by time

All that's happened
All that was
And right now

Is gone before
Our minds can
Comprehend

We only remember what
Truly stands out
In our lives

Or something that has
Shaped who we are
Or changed a point of view

Other things are locked away
Seldom to be remembered
Reminisced

Every passing second
We remember a little more
About our past

Because we just lived it
As quick as it's there
It disappears twice as fast

But it leaves imprints
Sometimes very visible
Other times not so much

Memories are gate ways
Into our experiences
And lessons learned

To simply help us
In the future that
We'er in right now

Eyes Of Mr D (Part 1)

They took the cotton gauze away
from his closed eyes.
“You can open them now Mr D.”
He opened his eyes to see hazy figures there,
black and grey images, and nothing more.

A gentle and kind voice, asked him what he saw.
“Hazy images>“He replied.
“It will be like that for a little while,
and then they will begin to clear.”
Each day his sight got better, the
haze began to clear.

Then the colour came,
and a rainbow spectrum appeared before his eyes,
of things he could never see.
A light shone through his life,
of things he had never known.
A new awakening
with images to fit the sounds.

His mind began to wonder
where his new eyes had come from.
They were not allowed to tell him,
who the donor was or anything about them.
Finally, he was released from hospital.

He went back to his flat
where he had to learn again,
where everything was now that he could see.
He smiled at the white walking stick.
He would keep it as a reminder
of how lucky he was.

Sitting in his chair in the sunshine,
as it came through the window.
Then it happened.
It was as if he were in a dream.
The images lost their colour.
He was in a place he had never seen before.

Hands reached out around the neck,
of a face he could not see.
It seemed as if
they were strangling the life out of someone there.
The body struggled and then went limp.
On the body, falling, the face was now revealed.
A young pretty face
distorted in the throes of death.

My Memories

Today will be a memory
yesterday is a memory drifting away
memories turn into tears,
tearing us apart.

Fear of moving on, afraid of change,
in a minute this will just be a memory
memories are all pain in vain
memories are like dreams, a reflection of the past.

Memories are vision of what it used to be.
my memories are sadness and struggle
what are yours?
are they sadness and struggle?

You are but a memory
that dwindles as each day passes me by.
and as you slowly vanish
I huddle in my room and cry.

A memory that’s all I have
that’s all that’s left of you
nothing but a mere memory
that still lingers, only for a little while longer in my head.

Don’t forget about the past
without memories there is no yesterday.
make every day one to remember a
memory to move on with no regrets

Memories Good, Sad and Bad

Some memories are good,
some memories are sad;
some memories are bad,
almost nightmarish in fact.
The good ones make you smile,
the sad ones make you cry,
and the bad ones make you frightened.
However, memories are memories
no matter what they are.
They are incidents of your past,
some of which you wish
never happened at all.
They are the memories
you try so hard to forget.
Unfortunately, the brain
cannot distinguish from good, sad and bad,
and the memories it throws up
are not always, what you want.

The Chronicles Of Nostalgia Part 4 Nostalgic about Stupidity

Images flash by
I feel like I might die
All those times... all those mistakes
Memories of a time past
Some memories you wish wouldn't last
All this makes
Me feel confused... so many its hard to even think
Of them.... it takes awhile for the pain to go away
Once it starts to sink
In deep and on this day
I get this feeling
I can't sing
New nostalgia born each day
New memories good and bad today
And forever
What a pointless endeavor
To try to escape
this cage holds my memory here
Strange to me it is that, I don't know who to call my dear
It's all quite strange, lost in my stupidity
That's me

Shadow of My Memory

Gust of stale wind breeze
whispers,
the memory,
the memory,
the memory,
much feeling
but seems without feelings at all,
candles have heart to,
hesitant to part.
much feeling but its
just as if there's none,
I think of the past
but i can't smile,
candles have heart too
it loathes parting.
Today will be a memory,
yesterday was a memory
drifting away, but
count not the time,
rather the moments.
our past days are beautiful
the things we kept
in our memory cache full.
the things we left are so many
fear of moving on,
fear of change,
wails of grief sucked
up excavated nose
soul wailing to the
top of the lungs.
in a minute this will
be just a memory
memories are
all pain in vain
but those are but memories
that dwindles each
day passes by,
as those slowly vanished,
I huddle in my room and cry,
memories are like dreams,
a reflection of the past.

Images of yesterday...

Things aren't allright, i'm not really fine.
Said a thousand times over and over...
I'm not ok, not allright...
But who listens anyway.
You took my dream away.

Moments we live in, moments of now... so quikly pass to fractions of memories.
That wich was then, felt like now... and now feels like never.
Life moves on they say, and so it does.
But my heart stands still ever since that day.

Images of then, hunting through my today.
Pictures complete... but without me.
I've never felt pain going so deep.
Reminding me i feel so weak.

In my mind things are undone.
We are back where we belong.
No more lifes apart but hearts as one.

In my mind... all tears are gone.

Glossed Over To Shine And Gleem

What appeared in my mind,
At one time to have been abstract...
Has long cleared from my vision to obstruct.
No matter how abstract,
Those wishing to keep hidden out of sight those facts.

Hindrances I spent time to quiz,
Have vanished from the attention I had given.
I see now why the picture created had been distorted.
To eliminate those questions truth would support.
Now exported to never import or aborted to deport.

What appeared in my mind,
At one time to have been abstract...
Has long cleared from my vision to obstruct.
To realize there are reasons to confuse,
And corrupt a mind off-track to misguide.

And speeches delivered,
Have nothing to do with what is on exhibit.
Although those who seek glamour...
Are thrilled to hear from someone understanding,
How much they have a need to safeguard their delusions.
With a keeping of a tour glossed over to shine and gleem!

The Good Memories Of What Was

I was not any use at Gaelic Football or Soccer though I played in Millstreet Townpark in the rain
And I played Soccer in Neily Duggan's Inch Field but these things I will never do again
With my young friends for us it was enjoyment but few things in life stay the same
The fire of youth in us was burning but it now is a flickering flame
We never thought about growing older the gift of youth is a great thing
Though of the past we have our memories and till death to them we will cling
The thought that we age with the Seasons does seldom enter the young mind
But the years leave us frailer and older eternal youth not for air breathing kind
But for as long as we have the gift of memory of our prime years good memories we retain
And often in our flights of fancy the past we do visit again
I still recall the joy and laughter as we chased the football up and down
On Summer evenings often wet and windy in the Townpark of old Millstreet Town
The years leave us all looking older and the clock on our lives ticking on
But the good memories of what was bring us comfort of the past to the forever gone.

Lovely Illusions

Confidence, …‘shrinks’ tell us
is only an illusion
Reflecting only, the facts and feeling
At, and of, a particular time

Sounds a lot like the illusion of love, to me
Akin to the mental images
we conjure up in our minds,
and ascribe to a state so sublime

Whether tis fact or illusion,
I shall avoid the confusion
By having complete confidence
and seeking seclusion

In my lovely, misty world,
so unreal yet appealing
My sphere of fictitious fact and feeling
Of beguiling illusion and rhyme

Strolling down memory lane

Strolling down memory lane
Where the colors begin to fade.
Strolling down memory lane
Is where I want you to come along.

Strolling down memory lane
is a test of time and mind.
Strolling down memory lane
I won’t be afraid.

Strolling down memory lane
Is not lacking in color.
Strolling down memory lane
Is not a big bummer.

Strolling down memory lane
Not a storm in sight
Strolling down memory lane
is joy without bite.

A memory that I have created in my mind,
Stands the test of time.
Memories are like dream, a reflection of the past.
My memories can kiss my…

Images

I think images are worth repeating
Images repeated from a painting
Images taken from a painting
From a photo worth re-seeing
I love images worth repeating
Project them upon the ceiling
Multiply them with silk screening
See them with a different feeling
Images, oh, images
Images, oh, images
Some say images have no feeling
I think theres a deeper meaning
Mechanical precision or so its seeming
Instigates a cooler feeling
I love multiplicity of screenings
Things born anew display new meanings
I think images are worth repeating
And repeating and repeating
Images, oh, images
Images, images
Im no urban idiot savant
Spewing paint without any order
Im no sphinx, no mystery enigma
What I paint is very ordinary
I dont think Im old or modern
I dont think I think Im thinking
It doesnt matter what Im thinking
Its the images that are worth repeating
And repeating, oh, images
Images
If youre looking for a deeper meaning
Im as deep as this high ceiling
If you think technique is meaning
You might find me very simple
You might think that images boring
Cars and cans and chairs and flowers
You might find me personally boring
Hammer, sickle, mao tse tong
Mao tse tong
Ooohhh, images, images
Images
I think that it bears repeating
The images upon the ceiling
I love images worth repeating
And repeating and repeating
Images, images
Oh, images, oh, images

A Dark Angel

A Dark Angel
is calling out,
promising escape
from fear and doubt.

He knows I’m bad
and so do I.
He wants my soul
when I die.

A fair exchange
it seems to me
if he can end
my misery.

A angel of light
has just appeared
warning me that
evil's near.

And it’s not too late
to change my ways
and I could still see
much better days.

Actions in mind and body
is all it takes
to move on
from past mistakes.

Thoughts and considerations
are swirling around.
But a final decision
can’t be found.

Flashing images
torment my mind
is there life after death
of any kind?

Good or evil
now or in the end?
Who do I believe
to be a foe or friend?

Need Proper Care

I was pulled from shirt and pushed aside
As house was clearly disturbed and divided
I was preferred more by mother and appreciated
This had lead to heated discussion and atmosphere was vitiated

As the children are normally naughty
Elders shower love and feel pity
They will offer everything to keep them happy
Children too will remain eager to receive and get ready

I was questioned over the scuffle
In the neighborhood there was brewing trouble
I often used to enter into altercation
And this was the cause for bad relation

People may come at home and complain
This will upset me always and puzzle the brain
What was I actually doing wrong?
And why I was now not favored among

I was good at studies also
But hade different style to adopt and go
As it had remained matter for concern
I decided to change drastically and made 'U' turn

It is difficult to go for a change
At a time when you are in delicate stage
You want unrestricted movement
With kind love and preferably no one to resent

I was thrashed and warned of home confinement
If went ahead with naughtiness
I sensed problem with displeasure
But was helpless to think about it for sure

I think back of all those things happened with me
Though I was not completely restricted from going free
Yet it carried a long impression in my mind about behavior
Elders should have thought of my age which was definitely a minor

Children need proper understanding with care
If they are forbidden to go near by or anywhere
It may have adverse effect on their natural growth
The attention has to be paid at home and out side or both

Rewind

When youth is gone, things of a past
of what had long since been
tied loosely the joyful memories
old things turn up..
then a rewind begin!

For we have no choice turning the page..
forgotten shape or painted face
strike silent one afternoon sunlit stage
faded stencil or handmade needlepoint lace
rewinding memory will re-engage..
cause loss to faded celluloid
beaming they hurry inside the past
a 'lost reel' pulled up from the void!

Looped, threaded, and carefully played
trinket in hand, time traveler to..
memories from which a childhood were made.
Some feelings tie love to old things
even though faded or frayed
we can hold in our hand to rewind time
that will never fail or fade.

The Rising Sun

Do you just drift away
shattered with a empty emotion
from feeling's of the past
promise's that wouldn't stay
now they are all gone
you got no place left to go

So you take a ride
away from the rising sun
leaving everything behind
searching for things out there
that you couldn't find
did the good time's last
out there on the run

Lost inside the mirror of illusion
of everything forgotten and abused
was it a safe place for you to hide
away from the pain and confusion
beaten down and used
did it ever escape your mind

She just stared out the window
and said I've said again and again
time after time
no, the pain never escaped my mind
as fast as I could drive
as far as I could hide
I looked beside me
and confusion was riding by my side

So I turned around
my back to the calling moon
and I drove back toward the sun
but here in the dark I wasn't sure
where everything had gone
and as easy as I drifted away
in the winds of yesterday
against the wind
it was harder that way

But I fought on to travel the miles
back to where we once stood
feeling crazy that I was hoping
you would still be standing at the crossroads
where that canyon between where things
changed to not so good
as I crested that mountain
of going back
I feared that I have lost the way
nothing looked the same

And then spreading across the horizon
melting over the Eastern sky
the sun began to rise
and there you were
no confusion, no illusion
there you were
this time with the rising sun

Memoriors

Sometimes I feel losing my vision
A travel to the darkest of dungeons
I was trying to find thing of some kind
I travel with peace…reached that masterpiece
Light at the end of the tunnel
An exit from that darkest of the channel
I found myself in a different world
A colorful world
Where thoughts are flying like a bird
A world of the faces I recognize
The list is really long….it is not gonna end
A good feeling which will always suffice
Calm as the wind…cooler than the ice.
I have reached the world of MEMORIES
A smile on my face
It has been a long chase
Lost into the world of memories
I cherish every such moment of my life
Memories make me feel good
Memories make me feel bad
Memories are here to stay
They will never go away
These memories let me feel that I survived
And I have really lived life……….
