Geoffrey Chaucer

Since I From Love

Since I from Love escaped am so fat,
I ne'er think to be in his prison ta'en;
Since I am free, I count him not a bean.

He may answer, and saye this and that;
I do no force, I speak right as I mean;
Since I from Love escaped am so fat.

Love hath my name struck out of his slat,
And he is struck out of my bookes clean,
For ever more; there is none other mean;
Since I from Love escaped am so fat.

A Rondel of Merciless Beauty - The Original

I. 1.
Youre two eyn will sle me sodenly
I may the beaute of them not sustene,
So wendeth it thorowout my herte kene.

2.
And but your words will helen hastely
My hertis wound, while that it is grene,
Youre two eyn will sle me sodenly.

3.
Upon my trouth I sey yow feithfully,
That ye ben of my liffe and deth the quene;
For with my deth the trouth shal be sene.
Youre two eyn will sle me sodenly
I may the beaute of them not sustene,
So wendeth it thorowout my herte kene.

II. 1.
So hath youre beauty fro your herte chased
Pitee, that me n'availeth not to pleyn:
For daunger halt your mercy in his cheyne.

2.
Giltless my deth thus have ye purchased;
I sey yow soth, me nedeth not to fayn:
So hath your beaute fro your herte chased.

3.
Alas, that nature hath in yow compassed
So grete beaute, that no man may atteyn
To mercy, though he sterve for the peyn.
Youre two eyn will sle me sodenly
I may the beaute of them not sustene,
So wendeth it thorowout my herte kene.

Escaping From Your Hands.....

i have escaped from being
one of those marionettes

and so i proclaim that
i
do not need much
i
have enough
of me
and you
and i do not wish to prolong
our
agonies
in the luxuries that have numbed
us into
wood and tin cans
and
scarecrows

i have finally escaped from your hands
slipping like
mud

and with my own hands i sculpt
a face
that you will never love.

Edgar Lee Masters

Barney Hainsfeather

If the excursion train to Peoria
Had just been wrecked, I might have escaped with my life --
Certainly I should have escaped this place.
But as it was burned as well, they mistook me
For John Allen who was sent to the Hebrew Cemetery
At Chicago,
And John for me, so I lie here.
It was bad enough to run a clothing store in this town,
But to be buried here -- ach!

The Chamber Of Hell

The chamber of extreme sin is like Hell,
Going on would excite my shoulder.
This escaped, this I know, this I know,
This escaped and let Hell loose.
The chamber of horrific comfort
Expelled members of sin, those who sinned.
This sinning person wants to know why
He is a devil, but why is he something evil?

Fly High

I was wild and free,
Free to soar in the sky!
The sky was my home,
I was the emperor of the skies.
No one escaped my sight!
I ate at my will to all my fill,
With no rival to fight.
But now I am a prisoner;
In a prison where not even my wings fit in.
A meal a day;
Something that tastes like hay.
All I have is but memories of my glorious past;
And never to be free again!

The meeting point

Time had escaped from me,
as if it was somewhere else
and I wasn’t anymore the kid I had been
when I went to war
the person that I was before
and time had left me
to become someone else.

Before the leaving we were two people
with shared thoughts, shared dreams
two people with a similar destiny
beating as the heart of one

but time had escaped from me,
as if it was somewhere else
the world had changed
and now you belonged to another
as if time had left our destiny

and I saw a pretty girl looking at me,
wondered about what she did see
while I bought her a drink,
lit her cigarette
and time stopped, it did cease
while on satin sheets she offered me peace

and about killing, about life and death
why good men fall and I live on
I couldn’t understand
and you were gone,
she offered me her hand
and led me to a nice hot bed
and time had escaped from me,
as if it was somewhere else
while she was still there
etched by the window
and outside the rain was falling
and for moments I was free
from this world with hardship and pain

What Is Love

Love is a malignant cancer. If you don’t root it out it will infect the entire body
Love is a possession by an evil spirit. Not properly exercised will devour your soul
Love is a heart attack. Not treated in time and you will die from it
Love is a bad car accident. You need the Jaws of Life to free you from it

Love is kidney failure. Without dialysis you won’t make it
Love is a paper cut. Small but it hurts like hell
Love is similar to snow. Beautiful to look at but yet you will slip, fall, and break something
Love is ice. Cold to the touch but yet will set you on fire

Love is a disease. Best to be avoided at all cost
Love is a STD. You think you’ve found the right one and (POW!) it gives you something for life
Love is a four-letter word like any other expletive
Love is a vampire. It sucks you dry and leaves you hollow inside

Love is a pain that matters not how many anti-inflammatory you take the hurt is still there
Love is a road block used to catch psychopaths that has escaped from mental facilities
Love is a hemorrhoid. It gets you right in the end
Love is having an itch that you just can’t seem to scratch

Love is a fait worse than death for it comes back to hunt you
Love is a condemned house that should not be lived in
Love is water in the sun. It evaporates quickly
Love is the spawn of Satan. It should be sacrificed on a holly alter.

Love is a beast that will rip you to shreds and leave you as empty as an oil field in Texas
Love is as hopeless as me ever being the next man on the planet Mars
Love is as fleeting as trying to catch the wind
Love is as meaningful as a conversation between star-struck lovers on a moonlit night

Love is a void in space where no light can escape
Love is antimatter. When in contact with matter cause extreme energy transference
Love is a wormhole that leads nowhere
Love is for those who want to escape reality

Love believes in something that is just not there
Love cares neither for the tangible nor the practical
Love is a never-ending circle that feeds on itself
Love is a belief that no matter what people may say that you and I will always make we.

Love I have served, for such length of time

Love I have served, for such length of time
If I forsake Him no man should blame me,
Now I go, and commend him to God in rhyme,
Man shouldn’t give his whole life to folly.
And he’s a fool who can’t keep from loving,
And can’t see in it all these torments of mine.
I’d be thought a child if I furthered the crime,
There’s a season for everything in being.

I’ve never been like those other men
Who having loved, seek to decry him,
And speak of him with boorish intent:
A man shouldn’t sell his loyalty towards him
Nor slander his Lord nor turn against him:
Let whoever renounces avoid dissent.
For myself, my wishes are all well meant.
May lovers have joy, now I’m free again.

Love has been good to me until now,
For he made me love with nobility
The loveliest and the best I vow,
That in my opinion’s ever been seen.
Love wishes it and my Lady begs me
To leave off loving, I thank her and bow,
Since it pleases my lady I do allow
No better reason than that for me.

No other reward from Love I received
Long though I served him faithfully:
But God in his mercy has rescued me,
And released me from his mastery.
Since I’ve escaped with my life, I see
This as the best hour of life, set free,
And I’ll still write many an elegy,
And many a sonnet and eulogy.

A man at the outset should always take care
To aim at something modest to win,
Though Love won’t always let us beware
What we choose as object, or what we think.
We fall for a stranger, and in we sink,
Who lives so far off we can’t travel there,
Rather than with one who’s always near:
And that shows the folly Love traps us in.

Now God save me from love, and loving again,
Except love of Her whom we should love here,
Through whom every man’s redeemed from sin.

Speak The Word

Unsettled hearts
Promise what they cant deliver
Bring me the wine
And the cold night air to clear my head
Gray matter memory house
Master of this trembling flesh
Steady still my doubts
Let me speak the word that precedes bliss
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
These weakened knees
Have not touched ground or pew in ages
I havent bowed my head
I offer thanks to any God or to ask for favors
But watch me now
Im falling down
Praying
To speak the word that precedes bliss
To speak the word
To speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word

Saving These Pennies of Love

I’m driving in the approaching-spring sunlight
Down an empty Sunday morning church street
And I’m dreaming of your face.

Sometimes this life
Feels like a thousand years of suffering,
But I’m going to count your every tear
And place them in my heart for safekeeping.

I will not go down to the grave
Without every day remembering your name
And what it means to me.

Love has mostly escaped me,
But I will not unclench my grasp
From what little I have touched.

Love Takes Over Me

I am lost in the world of you,
Cant believe where you take me to,
As soon as you enter my mind,
Or you crawl over my skin,
Leave me no other choice but to let you in
Love takes over me (I can feel it),
coz, your love takes over me (I can see it),
Oh, your love takes over me (I can taste it),
Yeah, your love takes over me (I can be it)
Take, take me now,
I cant take no more,
Feel me breathe,
Feel the energy,
How did I fall prey to this,
Pleasure is my lonely guide,
Yeah I escaped despite of you,
Now that your inside
Love takes over me (I can feel it),
When your love takes over me (I can see it),
Your love takes over me (I can taste it),
Yeah, your love takes over me (I can be it)
Magic is running through my veins,
Pleasure is coming closer then
So, hurt with me now,
So I wont hurt no more,
Hear me scream,
Hear my suffering
When your love takes over me (I can feel it),
Your love takes over me (I can see it),
Love takes over me (I can taste it),
Love takes over me (I can be it)
(I can feel it),
Love takes over me (I can see it),
Your love takes over me (I can taste it),
Love takes over me (I can be it)

Her...

I can never get my mind off her,
I wonder if she'd mind if i'd,
make her my own,
and never let her go,
hug her tight,
treat her right,
act all polite,
take her on a date,
make sure i'm never late,
kiss her on her lips,
talk about our kids,
Make her feel like princess,
living in a castle,
hope that is not too much hassle,
But i am so blessed,
hope i can be the best,
hold you tight,
have your BR3A$t,
on my chest,
pass the test,
NOW YOUR MINE!

Call On Me

The feelin is clear
Clear as a blue sky on a sunny day
Everything was you
cause no one made me feel
The way I felt with you
Call on me cause
I love you
You know I do
You love me too
Then came a change
When I said I would soon be leavin you
Nothin else to do
Please remember Ill never lose the thought of you
Call on me cause
I love you
You know I do
You love me too
Youve got to find
Someone else to somehow take my place
Share his love with you
But if you need a friend
You can always count on me
Count on me cause
I love you
You know I do
You love me too
You can count on me oh
You can count on me
You can count on me baby
You can count on me
You can count on me oh
You can count on me
You can count on me baby
You can count on me
You can count on me oh

Princess' love

Cinderella walked on broken glass.
Sleeping Beauty let a whole lifetime pass.
Belle fell in love with a hideous beast.
Jasmine married a common thief.
Ariel walked on land for love and life.
Snow White barely escaped a knife.
It was all about blood, sweat, and tears,
because love, means facing your biggest fears.

Whims and fancy of woman

He followed; I evaded; I alluded.
I avoided not; I escaped not either
I saw myself vanish not beyond.
I hid myself not far behind.
I love I must be aimed at.
I love I must be safe and secure.

He is lethargic; he’s a coward; he is
timid.
Had he plucked me in a swing
Could I’ve rejected him or betrayed him?
Couldn’t he know how brave
I shall be when I am alone?
Elusive women are not rejecting women,
Let him know, a lazy bull..
