Perchancement

`

You have been much more
to many a progressively
ailing heart,
in the eloquence
of whispered words -
watch them alight on
the pages of a poem.

What in the waving
of waxing thought;
words copiously flow
in the effervescent
glow of lilting rhyme -
solitary images
march the desert storm.

Amnesty provides no relief:
no human deed can make amends,
the speed of apologies fail
to out run the steam roller
of resolute demeanour.
Once the balm of intimating breath
now asphyxiates tomorrow's hope.

Put forth in plain speech
what now in riddles present
then lay a poignant wreathe upon
this wailing bardic crypt.
Underneath its gravestone find
wispy embers of yesterdays
awaiting phoenix wings climb.

Hence in its turn let generosity provide
this grievous dagger a sheath to hide.

Modern Day Poet

I am the modern day poet you know
that must make words that easily flow.
For to just present words that ramble on
is to yield forth words that soon are gone.

They're gone from the listener and reader too,
who cannot reason or cannot view
how the words just seem to sit on a page
allowed to sit and yellow with age.

Words must be caressed and also thrive
to take on rhythms which come alive,
alive in the memory that through the ear
has taken it in and holds it dear.

And so in each poem I have my say.
And so in each poem my words do sway
back and forth like a front porch swing
giving my poem a magical ring.

I never allow dullness to come into play
for then my poem will be thrown away
into the piles of poems never read
because they're too hard to keep in the head.

So over and over it's become my style
to enchant the reader for a little while,
making them remember the lilting rhyme
that got into my head one word at a time.

Safest Place To Hide

It seems like yesterday when I said I do
And after all this time my heart still burns for you
If you dont know by now that youre my only one
Just take a look inside me and watch my heart strings come undone
I know I promised you forever
Is there no stronger word I can use?
To reassure you when the storm is raging outside
Youre my safest place to hide
Can you see me? Here I am
I need you like I needed you then
When I feel like giving up
I climb inside your heart and still find
Youre my safest place to hide
You see colors no one else can see
In every breath you hear a symphony
You understand me like nobody can
I feel my soul look for you like a flower blooming
When this whole world gets too crazy
And theres nowhere left to run
I know you give me sanctuary
Youre the only truth I know
Youre the road back home
Can you see me? Here I am
Standing here, where Ive always been
And when words are not enough
I climb inside your heart and still find
Youre my safest place to hide
I know I promised you forever
Theres no stronger word I can use
To reassure you when the storm is raging outside
Youre my safest place to hide
Can you see me? Here I am
Standing here, where Ive always been
When I feel like giving up
I climb inside your heart and still find
Youre my safest place to hide
Oh, yeah
Youre my safest place to hide

I can’t think of an intro
For the poem I have in mind
Stop teasing me, my dear
I want the feeling to be in rhyme
Don’t make me lose my words
Don’t kiss me here and there
I can’t concentrate, I can’t create
My man you’re so hot tonight
Ok, I’ll turn off the computer now
Wait, I’ll just highlight these words
To save the thoughts for tomorrow
I swear I’ll continue these lines
‘Cause I know I will have
A better piece, a better rhyme

Anxiety Is Not A Poem

ANXIETY IS NOT A POEM

Anxiety is not a poem-
Fear is not one either-
Yet inside
Needing some relief
Words come as Balm-

Only they cannot be just words
They must sing inside themselves
And bring an inner Joy in Beauty –

Only Poetry true Poetry words of Poetry
Can help now-

And whether they are in these lines or not,
I hope, but do not know.

What My Heart Wants To Say

you're amazing
so amazing
have I told you
enough
you're my angel
guardian angel
god knows I've been blessed with love

but if I been gone tomorrow
would you know how deep my loves goes
have I ever told you
you're the one

if the words don't come my way
hope its still love
hope it still shows
if the words don't come my way
hope you still know what my heart wants to say

words so tender
I surrender
to this feeling
so true
my affirmation
my inspiration
darling I have been blessed with you

if the words don't come my way
hope you still know
hope it still shows
if the words don't come my way
I hope you still know what my heart wants to say

but if I be gone tomorrow
would you know how deep my loves goes
if I was gone forever
would you know how much I care

you make me feel like flying
and failing all emotion
that everytime you look at me
you see it in my eyes

if the words don't come my way
I hope you still know

if the words don't come my way
I hope you still know
I hope it still shows

if the words don't come my way
I hope you still know
what my heart wants to say

if the words don't come my way
I hope you still know
hope it still shows

if the worst don't come my way
I hope you still know
I hope it still shows
I hope still you know
what my heart wants to say

Writing

My words they no longer flow like a calm river
They rip, through, delicate flowers wither
Not in a long time have I wrote pure gold
One more worthless word and I'll explode

So I write these words to help express
That to me my writing can no longer impress
If the letters I write turn to heavy stone
Maybe I should try changing my tone

Even when words sing a merry tune
When the words hit me like a monsoon
I look back and scowl at scribbles and letters
And know there is a need for them to be better

So I try to write something funny, add humour
Rhythms with big cats, small rats, lions and pumas
But it all seems to lack that special spark
Something with a vicious bite and a gentle bark

Let's try and make it dark, murder and death
Something that literally stops ones breath
Words that hide the killer, build suspense
But this dark angst and pain is all pretence

A rhyme about love, happy and quite light
A poem about everything that can go right
Maybe just maybe it will all fit together
But these words take too long, almost forever

I guess I'll just carry on in this infuriating way
I'll continue writing the words I just can't say
So when I feel the need to write I'll let it all out
Then you will find out just what I will write about

The First Poem

The first poem I ever read
is the first words I ever said.
The words I love you
written by this beauty's tongue
turned a heart rosy red from a somber blue
and made me burn for my heart was wrung.
The first poem I ever read
is the first poem I ever said.
On her poetic lips love words refined
and shaped a sonnet on her flesh defined
On those lips I read a poet's song
And knew it was there my lips belonged.
The first poem I ever read
is the first words I ever said.
I love you, I love you
What does it mean?
These words said, to start anew
something pure and something serene.
The first words I ever read
is the first words I ever said.
Those first words she whispered into my ear
And in my heart, her poem stood near
Those are the most beautiful words one ever said
I love you, I love you, will live till its dead.
The first poem I ever read
is the first words I ever said.
I read her lips, I love you, I love you..
now to sleep I go in love's sweet bed.

Send My Best

I wouldn't put my bets on me if I were you
I bet you find I'm not as balanced as I seem
I need to redecorate, I need some hum a thousand times a day
Can't hide anything day from you
Loving me you'll always be a slave to this confusion
So if I'm on my way to your heart
If I'm on my way to your heart
Send my best to your heart
If I'm on my way to your heart
Heaven help you
Some day you'll ask me what's the source of this despair
I might as well just turn my back on you and leave
'Cos it's the same damn thing everytime I try to feel somebody in
When it's too many words of silence
Loving me you'll always be a slave to this frustration
And I would be the unknown quantity in your equation
So if I'm on my way to your heart
If I'm on my way to your heart
Send my best to your heart
If I'm on my way to your heart
Heaven help you
I love to love you tomorrow too
But I'm unable to promise to be there for you
Reflecting's got me freaking, and you can't speed up it's so rare
I only hope, hope to love you tomorrow too
You should heed these words if you care about yourself
Try to reason deep down play this wicked game
If you get too involved then you know you got an awful lot to lose
And in the end you'll be alone, 'cos
Loving me you'll always be a slave to this frustration
And I will be the unknown quantity in your equation
So if I'm on my way to your heart
If I'm on my way to your heart
Send my best to your heart
If I'm on my way to your heart
Heaven help you
I love to love you tomorrow too
But I'm unable to promise to be there for you

Think of lovely music

I think of lovely music
May be same divine magic
Deep love and pain mixed with joy
In silent corner to watch and enjoy

May be love has only one language
To take care of feelings and assuage
Little fingers moving in curly hair
Whole world at feet to find it here

Whole of my time is spent in search
You can’t find it in dark even with torch
Heart must be delighted with burning pain
There is place somewhere to cry and n wait for rain

As air thickens with lovely melody
It becomes concern of no body
It silences the sadness in corner
The fire is extinguished from the burner

It is possible words may not be understood
It is equally true not to have supplemented for food
But it has given some relief to know it better
Music can keep you love alive and nicely cater

Pain may vary with high and low tones
The doors slowly open and path is shown
Love may be meant to be embrace
Stand up in faith and make it truly to face

What it does with ailing mind?
It is dead already for nothing to find
Search has ended in failure
Life is uncertain and not sure

Not even wealth or drink may satisfy
They will add to woe and surely multiply
Nothing may come out of it even if you cry
You may feel dejected and nothing may be left to shy

There won’t be anything for coming to aid
So many good words are known to have said
Nothing is helping to come out of great shock
The eyes are paining as they run out of stock

Only few options are open to relax and enjoy
The nature is full of means to provide the joy
It is how we can pick the thread and tie
There is enough with bird’s wing to fly

Some language must be tried to convey
It can provide some relief much to our dismay
There is hidden strength in songs and music
It has something to do with anything that is tragic

Evenings may turn dry and noon so hostile
You can go for fresh air in morning meanwhile
Still nothing as such can compare the lovely melody
You may love to donate everything even if you are miser or greedy

There is divine blessings coupled with harmony
This might have not been experienced by many
Yet that has ruled several ailing mind with much relief
Music to ears is rare blessing and it is firm belief too

Let This One Poem Be About Me

Let this one poem be just about me
Let this one poem engulf all my beauty
Let this one poem define my soul
Let this one poem consume me whole
My soul was earth bound
And my heart lay in a place that it would never be found
Let this poem be what entangles my mind
Let this poem be where people will find
They will find that missing link
And this poem it will make them think
They will wonder how this girl came
They will wonder how I avoided fame
I didn’t write these words to please
I wrote these words to tease
My heart it’s the type that beckons for ease
And my taste will not accept the flavor of peas
Let this poem describe me in most simplest of ways
Let this poem show how I get through these days
And I know people will read this and say…
This girl she knew where heart lay…
Let this poem eat me whole
Let me entire heart bleed its luscious love into a broken bowl
My soul wanted only to be free
And this poem only pushed it back into me
I never will lose any part of my soul
Because then this world will swallow my inner being whole
Let this poem be what I hate
Let this poem describe with who I would mate
Let this thoughts become my ways
Let this poem be where I stray
Let this poem show how I lie
Let this poem describe how I will die
Yes I am human I cannot avoid death
Yes I am human I chose not to use meth
These words they dance upon this page
These words they have no age
These verses have lost all meaning
Because I revealed my demeaning
Let this poem describe what I deem right
Let this poem that I will always fight
My age floats through these words
And people will never understand why I want to be heard
Let this poem be only about me
Let this poem be what sets me free
And I know some day people will look at this and say…
This girl, this girl she knew exactly where her heart lay…

The Things You Say

Words
Said in a careless huff as you walked away
Hurt
Words
Said in a whispered excited voice
Caused electricity in me
Words
Said in a caring loving way
Were a balm for the wound in me
Words
Said in an angry menacing way
Felt like daggers thrown at me
Words
Said like sugary sweet morning due
Caused my knees to go weak
Words
Words, Words, Words..
Your words have so much power over me
Words
Said like a magic spell
Have enchanted me
Words
You throw around those words so carelessly
Do you know
Words
How they have been affecting and inflicting me..

Beyond Words Beyond Images

it is ironic, these words claiming
that one day, these words will be beyond words,
that these images will be beyond images
that i will be like those who went their way alone
not befriending anyone but keeps on writing
in the middle of the storm
and cyclones and typhoons
and quakes and volcanic eruptions

beyond destruction, beyond words, beyond images.

I'd Rather Write

I'd rather write a poem, Lord,
Than mow the lawn today,
As mowing grass I'd soon be bored
And choose to walk away...
That wall needs painting, yes, I know,
Another month won't hurt,
I'd rather write and watch words flow
Than paint and hide the dirt...

I'd rather write a poem, Lord,
Than tidy up that room,
A tidy room's a poor reward
Compared with words that bloom...
That pile of clothes I'll get round to,
No pressure, they can wait,
I'd rather write my point of view,
As my views are first rate...

I'd rather write a poem, Lord,
Than wash the car outside,
It's not a Rolls, it's just a Ford,
With scratches dust can hide...
That stack of dishes, won't complain,
No rush to stand, wipe, stir,
I'd rather write my thoughts again
Before they melt and blur...

I'd rather write a poem, Lord,
Than shop for milk and bread,
Black coffee's okay, rest assured,
I'll give up toast instead...
I'll see my girlfriend, next week, soon,
Tomorrow or tonight...
I'd rather write this afternoon,
Please, Lord, if that's all right...

The Poet

Sometimes a killer
Because words
Words can shatter
Solid concepts human beliefs
Pages into the pieces torn

Sometimes a healer
Because words
Words can heal
Restore forgotten values relief
New books of life born

A plunderer
As words
Words are the treasure

Masks to wear and masks to tear
Life pulsating people to find

As words
Words are the target measure
Of a killer
Of a healer
Of a treasure hunter swift
The poet is Love Gift

Painted Canvass: Perspective Master Strokes

Luxury. Time and a whole new poem to cite.
Exquisite. An exceptional poem a classic write.
A great poem from a favourite master poet.
And mine all mine to read now in the night.
With deep appreciation, I read these words in hues of light.
Others may fear fail to tread, this path that shines so bright.
First we avid read, then deconstruct, then reconstruct,
the words are whole again, with new fair crafted insight.

If we do not venture, into the words?
How will we know, there meanings?
The poem was whole, written in theme concepts.
Word play gifted images, savour ponder contrasts.
Mine eye perceives perspective, shaped in logic art.
The images drawn forever grace, astound my heart.

In A Breath

Life is only one breath after another,
We are the ones who control our breaths, not oneanother.
A breath is all it takes,
To make a breath.

In a breath you could stop,
In a breath you could drop,
In a breath anything could happen,
In a breath anything could happen.

Life is the journey down a pathway,
Of which stones are breaths that show you the way.
A path to eternity, to forever.
Where you shall stay forever and ever.

In a breath you could die,
In a breath you could fly,
In a breath anything could happen,
In a breath anything could happen.

Tomorrow is yet a turn,
A turn you may not reach, but only a breath can determine,
You don't know when your final turn comes.
You do not know what you will become.

In a breath you could win,
In a breath you could sin.
In a breath anything could happen,
anything could happen.

Life is but a breath,
Air is but a breath,
In life you will find the truth,
And find air is the proof.

In a breath you could find nothing,
In a breath you could find everything,
In a breath anything could happen,
In a breath anything could happen.

You travel down a river,
Where bubbles are breaths and you are the giver.
The giver of ripples, of currents,
Of which for endurence.

In a breath you could loose,
In a breath you could choose.
In a breath anything could happen
In a breath anything could happen.

Follow the river of dreams to the sea.
This is eternity you will see.
Breath avery breath,
As if it were your last breath.

In a breath you could sail.
In a breath you could fail.
In a breath anything could happen,
anything could happen.

Autobiograpical Poem

I am a simple poem,
It's plain for all to see.
No haiku, limerick or sonnet,
Just simple rhyme for me.

I'm on my second verse just now,
So soon it will be three.
Uncomplicated, very plain,
So easy, Oh! so free.

There are no causes I espouse,
For nothing I campaign,
I do not speak of love or lust,
I never speak of pain.

Some people say that I'm just words,
They don't know how I thrive.
I tell them I am born each day,
I'm very much alive.

I'm winding down towards the end,
Just another verse to go,
I've avoided all controversy,
I just went with the flow.

So here I am, sixth verse at last,
It's still plain for all to see
That if you keep it simple
You'd be a poem just like me!

Written words
~
Where the written words
Depict the heart itself
How can it fail to touch the soul
The beauty of language
In the expression of thought
Is the unbound creation
Within us all
It is know as humane beauty
The life breath
A belief in a dream
Immortal and thought filled
Alive upon the page
There the written word exists
Reflecting the world
Depicting the heart itself
How can it fail to touch
A human soul

The Old Tune

THIRTY-SIXTH VARIATION

THIS shred of song you bid me bring
Is snatched from fancy's embers;
Ah, when the lips forget to sing,
The faithful heart remembers!

Too swift the wings of envious Time
To wait for dallying phrases,
Or woven strands of labored rhyme
To thread their cunning mazes.

A word, a sigh, and lo, how plain
Its magic breath discloses
Our life's long vista through a lane
Of threescore summers' roses!

One language years alone can teach
Its roots are young affections
That feel their way to simplest speech
Through silent recollections.

That tongue is ours. How few the words
We need to know a brother!
As simple are the notes of birds,
Yet well they know each other.

This freezing month of ice and snow
That brings our lives together
Lends to our year a living glow
That warms its wintry weather.

So let us meet as eve draws nigh,
And life matures and mellows,
Till Nature whispers with a sigh,
'Good-night, my dear old fellows!'
