7th day of December of 1941 -Pearl Harbor
On this day in early December
Something was being brought us that we surely would always remember
As the sun in Hawaii was just starting to rise
Terror struck us as a surprise
Hitting us so hard and fast
All we wanted to know who it was and long it was going to last
As those unidentified war planes dropp bombs and bullets everywhere we could see
One, two three, my buddies started to fall next to me
It affected a lot of lives
So many men were trapped in the hull of the ship and struggled to stay alive
It caused the sailors to try to cut away the medal and every idea they could deploy
Just to get those out those old men and young boys
Hour after hour they worked from day to night
Never giving up trying without upright
Even though very few got out and were saved
We know that they still fought because they were strong and brave
I only wish one thing
That they only thought about the repercussion that this destruction would bring
As they hit us in those early hours
The truth is that they never knew how mighty was our power
Only if they really knew the real meaning of the rising sun
Then they would know who we were and this war with us never would have begun
As we fought them across the oceans around the earth
We finally realized how much our freedom was worth
This war was fought long and hard
But in the end, we showed that empire that we were dealt the winning card
With that final blow
And was that the reason that our freeom was worth theat long go

The Lust We Fought For
The lust we fought for in now just a pile of ash.
The lust we fought for was a lie to it's very last.
The lust we fought for burns in my memory every night.
The kust we fought for wasn't worth it's own right.
The lust we fought for seemed so out of control.
The lust we fought for only needed us to grab ahold.
So the lust we fought for wasn't lust at all.
Indeed it was love that made our great fall.
The lust we fought for keeps me crying at night.
The lust we fought for has me praying to turn it right.
The lust we fought for makes me miss you more.
The lust we fought for broke my heart to it's core.
The lust we fought for brings out a million tears.
The lust we fought for challenged all of my fears.
So the lust we fought for was the pain i deserved to face.
Indeed it was love from that magically beautiful place.
The lust we fought for is now gone up in flames...
Because I now know that the lust we fought for was real all the same.

Your Life
Everyone's afraid of their own life.
If you could be anything you want I bet you'd be disappointed.
am I right?
No one really knows the ones they love.
If you knew everything they thought I bet you'd wish that they'd just shut
up.
Well you were the dull sound of sharp math when you were alive.
Not ones gonna play the harp when you die.
And if I had a nickel for every damn dime I might have half the time.
do you mind?
Everyone's afraid of their own life.
If you could be anything you want I bet you'd be disappointed.
am I right?
It's hard to remember we're alive for the first time.
It's hard to remember we're alive for the last time.
It's hard to remember to live before you die.
It's hard to remember that our lives are such a short time.
It's hard to remember what it takes such a long time.
It's hard to remember to live before you die.
It's hard to remember.
My mom's god is a woman and my mom she is a witch.
I fought this.
My hell comes from inside comes from inside myself.
Why fight this.
Everyone's afraid of their own life.
If you could be anything you want I bet you'd be disappointed.
am I right?

Semper Fi
(Note: This poem is a fictional re-imagining of the poem 'Mother' written by Padraig Pearse the night before his execution in 1916.
It has a changed point of view and had been moved to Afghanistan,2009. I apologize to all who misconstrued this to be about the death of a specific marine lance corporal)
This loss is very hard upon his mother:
To endure first his birth and then his death.
The time between -scarcely a generation
But in that short span of time he proved his worth.
They are too few, the proud who wear the emblem,
And fight our countries battles in our stead.
Where they found him, his position was surrounded
By the bleeding bodies of Jihadist dead.
Enroll his name among our Countries’ heroes
Remember him for all of time to come,
But put away the medal they awarded-
I need no medal to recall my son.
My brave strong son who first fought in Fallujah,
and battled militants in Kandahar.
He joined the fallen as his tour was ending
Now all that we have left is a gold star.
But in the long nights that are surely coming
I will speak his name within my heart.
I will take certain comfort in the knowledge
That our son was faithful and he fought.

Do We Remember Them?
We remember our fathers
They remember their sons
Who fought long battles
And paid with their lives
We remember the glories
We have forgotten the pain, ,
of the widows and orphans,
of those who will never return again.
We remember the machinery
With which battles were fought
But the names of the fallen
Are all but forgot.
We remember, we say
With the crimson petalled poppy
And silence at eleven
On Remembrance Day
But of all the boys and men
Who fought wars large and small
Paying dearly with their lives
Do we really remember them, at all?

The start of the Real Strory of Christmas
We really need to stop is the what is the real reason
Behind this time of the year and what they call the CHRISTmas season
Some people think it is time to give little girls and boys
Bags of toys
And this why we celebrate it is because Santa Clause
Yes that idea might be great, but here is the real reason and why it is time to think and pause
And hopefully then they can accept it and see
It is something that we can all think about and make our own choice
But pleas listen and feel the writing of this poem as if it is a soft voice
That is hear trying to teach
The real meaning and not up here just to preach
Well here it goes and we all find out what is the truth behind this day
And why the Lord loves us too much and why he did not let mankind fade away
Yes it is time to show him happiness and rejoice open our eyes
As we thank him for opening up the LOVE in Heaven's Skies
On this day a long time ago
The Lord sent down angel to talk to man and woman called Joseph and Mary and told them it is time to go
They listened to the Angel and loaded up there donkey without a care
In the World because they knew that they were safe and there was no reason to have a scare
Even though they traveled a from place to another place and around and around
Until they came to this little Jewish town
And stop and ask a keeper of an INN, " Do you have a place for my wife to sleep
The INN keeper said, "not really but you can stay where we have our animal keep
They and followed and we happy that they finally found a place to stay,
They went and rested until it was time for Mary to give Birth to a baby in which the put the baby in a manger to lay
They did not exactly what was meant that night
But it brought some Sheppard keepers that followed a bright light
As they went and followed and Angel came down and said something that had to be told
That this is the light that represented a birth of a baby boy name Christ that is only a few hours old
On that same night of in the Distance East
That light Wise men saw the light and knew that it meant the birth of the King of peace
They followed and followed until they reached this little town called Bethlehem with happiness and joy
Especially as they came to the manger and the little baby boy
This led them to have tears
They stay stayed and visit very little time
But they also left a small gift because they knew that father and mother did not even have a dime
Some gold, Frankincense and myrrh
They left the little town and went in different directions before Kings Herod terror could occur

Another Try
Another try, I give again, I started shy, my heart started to mend.
It all looked great, but I could tell, something was wrong, as she started leaving her shell.
I was as blind as could be, I had no clue, I did not see, that this experience would be new.
The tension grew, as we fought more, this is something I cannot do, as I showed him the door.
He said no, as I told him get out, things went bad, as he started to shout.
I didn't know, what he would do, I started to show it, as my fear grew.
He knew this, as I walked the other way, then he kissed me, and I let him stay.
He said sorry, I was having a bad day, I forgave him, without delay.
This was a grave mistake, I realize now, he was just a fake, but his anger was real.
Not long after, he started it, I was being abused, as he started to hit.
I was starting to fear, him and his ways, he took away my support, as it started to fade.
I was running out of options, stay or leave, either way, my heart was going to be cleaved.
I was ready to leave, as he came to me, he brought me roses, and I succumbed to see.
That the decision I made, was not the right one, I am afraid, if it is already done.
The choices I made, the things I have done, my heart is breaking, as I am down to one.
So whatever you do, whatever you say, when starting new, watch how quickly it can change your day.

Visitor to Earth?
Know one thing
No one thought
Or no one fought Not in the moment
my parents fought
romantic thought They never thought
They never brought,
not been they brought Neither they designed
But surely are destined
I too was destined,
nature reacted,
to love they acted, And they wanted
And they never waned
I fell trapped in their love! The showered
shared their love
I got major share! They earned and saved
But more share they gave
As well they ate less to save
more for me! They were gods
and I was god
fell to their love! They went and I continued
Now we are two, ours two,
But one flew after days few! We have love and we can't act
love to trap one more god to visit
and be event of our home!

Unrecorded history. storypoem
I camped below a rocky tor.
Although I'd not been there before
It felt somehow familiar.
I did not want to drive too far.
I had been late in starting out
And I had too much about.
The Dartmoor fog which frequently.
Descended very suddenly.
Reducing visibility
To almost nil immediately.
I thought it wise to stay the night
and make a start by broad daylight.
I had chosen to drive this way.
Because I was on holiday.
A chance to see new scenery
I have no one to please but me.
I had prepared a picnic meal.
I sat and ate behind the wheel.
The mist descended quietly
and hid the rocky tor from me.
It formed a blanket thick and white
Which softly glowed in the moonlight.
It could have been a movie screen
And formed a backdropp to a scene.
A scene I never thought to see.
A piece of living history.
I watched a battle being fought
With iron weapons crudely wrought.
But still they killed the enemies
They fought with great ferocity
I saw men kill, I saw men die.
Beneath a blue and cloudless sky.
I know they fought long, long ago
But just how long I do not know.
It might have been the iron age.
I do not know enough to gauge.
Who they were by how they dressed.
The battle held my interest.
Because the sheer brutality.
Which somehow I was allowed to see.
Projected on a misty screen.
Was it real: It might have been
Or did I fall asleep and dream.
Quite possible so it would seem.
To those inclined to disbelieve.
And think I am trying to deceive.
Perhaps because they're frightened to
Accept that it just might be true.
I don't pretend to understand,
Why this barren piece of land
Which lay below the rock tor
Men thought it well worth dying for.
But this is now and that was then.
Perhaps it's time to think again.
I cannot see the world they saw
The land they thought worth fighting for.
It's probable I'll never know.
Why this battle long ago.
Was repeated apparently
Somehow especially for me.
It was a strange experience
Which goes against my common sense.
A tale I very rarely tell.
Dartmoor keeps it secrets well.

Sonnet: Virtues
Just when I thought I’d paid a hefty price
For honesty in life, I realized
That after all, I’d done a thing so wise,
Although the world around me criticized!
Just when I thought I’d worked too hard in life,
But never got rewarded yet enough,
God gave me awesome problems / added strife,
To make my mind and heart really tough!
Just when I thought I’d tried to practice truth
In ways exemplary, more than I ought,
God made me understand its genuine worth,
And some more battles for that sake I fought!
To live a virtuous life is great a task;
But this is what the Lord one day will ask!

If Only Through Heavens Eyes
Oh, oh
I never thought you were
A fair weather friend
You never let me down
Youre true to the end
Then the darkest hour
And all was lost
Somehow you left the light on
Faced the wrong
And showed the world a thing or two
Stood up for me and for you
And you should know
Chorus:
Some say it wasnt worth
The things we went through
I say it aint worth losing you
I hope you know how much
Youve changed all our lives
Someday youll see
If only through heavens eyes
Only through heavens eyes
I still remember
Things that you said
I keep your words alive
I can never forget
cus in the final hour
You made me proud
So proud that I could know you
Told the world
Its time that they believe in you
You stood tried and true
Chorus
And so we cant forget
Weve got to keep the memory
The ones who took the fall
They did it for us all
And we should learn from it
Stand up if you believe in it
Youve got to face the world
Be strong
Strong
Chorus 3x

Wake Me!
Wake me when the war is over
Then tell me who won the fight,
“ hoorah ” for us if we have won,
and if we lost, then GOD wasn't on our side.
Then let me know just why we fought
And the reasons that we might die
Refresh my memory of this war once more
So never again must I ask why.
And if anyone asks if I did fight
While I was station way over there,
Thank them all and tell them of course I did
And thank them for keeping me in there prayer.
And tell them all no medals home will I bring
As I fought just for home and glory,
“MMM”, I like how that sounded
I think That will be my story.
I never fought for hate or for love
Never fought for the red, black, yellow or white
I never fought for riches or for wealth
I fought for my leaders, as they told me to fight.
Wake me when this war is over
Or tell me when the fighting is done
So I can discard my gun and put on my boots
And then head home, to my wife and son.
And tell them all I served my country well
Please tell them one lie after another
And tell them all I fought for GOD and Country
And also of course for my friends and mother.
And tell them while I was way over there
I fought hard each and every day
I killed for truth and I killed for justice
And every night for my sins to GOD I would pray.
So much sadness came from this war
Sadness I seen each and every way
How much I miss my family and home
And how I so hate in being afraid.
And when you do tell of my story
Don't tell it so sad to cause any to weep
Because during this war I did not a thing
Because as you know, all I did was sleep.

Gratitude
Thanks to those who love me,
you made me feel irrplaceable.
Thanks to those who made me smile,
you showed me the true of taste of happinesss.
Thanks to those who envied me,
you made my heart grow fonder.
Thanks to those who cared,
you made me important.
Thanks to those who fought me,
you showed me the true worth of a friend.
Thanks to those who entered my life,
you made me who i am today.
Thanks to those who left,
you showed me that nothing last forever.
Thanks to those who stayed,
you showed me the meaning of love and friendship.
Thanks to those who broke my heart,
you showed me that nobody is worth my trust.
Thanks to those who gossip about me,
you showed me how popular i am.
Thanks to those who try to bring me down,
you showed me how strong i am.
Thanks to those who believed in me,
you showed me how special i am.
Thanks to those who hate me,
you showed me the meaning of the word ' ENEMY '.
Thanks to those who smiled because of me,
you made me feel invulnerable.
Thanks to those who prayed for me,
you made me indomitable.
Thanks to those who taught me,
you made me a success.
Thanks to those who celebrate me,
you made me a superstar.
Thanks to those who underated me,
you showed me how extraordinary i am.
Thanks to those who motivated me,
you brought out the best in me.
Thanks to my parent who gave birth to me,
they made me a human.
Thanks to God who created me,
you made me a super human.

Song of the Dardanelles
The Wireless tells and the cable tells
How our boys behaved by the Dardanelles.
Some thought in their hearts “Will our boys make good?”
We knew them of old and we knew they would!
Knew they would—
Knew they would;
We were mates of old and we knew they would.
They laughed and they larked and they loved likewise,
For blood is warm under Southern skies;
They knew not Pharoah (’tis understood),
And they got into scrapes, as we knew they would.
Knew they would—
Knew they would;
And they got into scrapes, as we knew they would.
They chafed in the dust of an old dead land
At the long months’ drill in the scorching sand;
But they knew in their hearts it was for their good,
And they saw it through as we knew they would.
Knew they would—
Knew they would;
And they saw it through as we knew they would.
The Coo-ee called through the Mena Camp,
And an army roared like the Ocean’s tramp
On a gale-swept beach in her wildest mood,
Till the Pyramids shook as we knew they would.
Knew they would—
Knew they would.
(And the Sphinx woke up as we knew she would.)
They were shipped like sheep when the dawn was grey;
(But their officers knew that no lambs were they).
They squatted and perched where’er they could,
And they “blanky-ed” for joy as we knew they would.
Knew they would—
Knew they would;
They “blanky-ed” for joy as we knew they would.
The sea was hell and the shore was hell,
With mine, entanglement, shrapnel and shell,
But they stormed the heights as Australians should,
And they fought and they died as we knew they would.
Knew they would—
Knew they would;
They fought and they died as we knew they would.
From the southern hills and the city lanes,
From the sandwaste lone and the Blacksoil Plains;
The youngest and strongest of England’s brood!—
They’ll win for the South as we knew they would.
Knew they would—
Knew they would;
They’ll win for the South as we knew they would.

Dear Grandad
Oh how I miss you so very much.
I never knew what sorrow that day would bring.
When your hart of gold stopped beating.
And I couldnt do a thing.
I know you had cancer.
And knew your pain had to end.
But it dosent make the loss of you any easier.
I miss you still.
Death is a hard thing.
And the grieving part still exits.
But most of all.
I wonder what would you think of me now?
Would you think I was some kind of bitch.
Or some sort of coward that wants to end life?
When you fought so hard for yours.
And you still went away.
Just what would you think of me?
Its a thing I often wonder.
But I remember you werent one to judge.
You saw the good in everyone.
No matter what they did.

The Broken Tryst
That day a fire was in my blood;
I could have sung: joy wrapt me round;
The men I met seemed all so good,
I scarcely knew I trod the ground.
How easy seemed all toil! I laughed
To think that once I hated it.
The sunlight thrilled like wine, I quaffed
Delight, divine and infinite.
The very day was not too long;
I felt so patient; I could wait,
Being certain. So, the hours in song
Chimed out the minutes of my fate.
For she was coming, she, at last,
I knew: I knew that bolts and bars
Could stay her not; my heart throbbed fast,
I was not more certain of the stars.
The twilight came, grew deeper; now
The hour struck, minutes passed, and still
The passionate fervour of her vow
Ran in my heart's ear audible.
I had no doubt at all: I knew
That she would come, and I was then
Most certain, while the minutes flew:
Ah, how I scorned all other men!
Next moment! Ah! it was--was not!
I heard the stillness of the street.
Night came. The stars had not forgot.
The moonlight fell about my feet.
So I rebuked my heart, and said:
"Be still, for she is coming, see,
Next moment--coming. Ah, her tread,
I hear her coming--it is she!"
And then a woman passed. The hour
Rang heavily along the air.
I had no hope, I had no power
To think--for thought was but despair.
A thing had happened. What? My brain
Dared not so much as guess the thing.
And yet the sun would rise again
Next morning! I stood marvelling.

To Control and Hold Back the Tears
Not many Americans really know what goes on,
And why when we get home so many of us veterans have in common,
Even though a lot of our memories are not the same,
We still have the same feelings as we lost our buddies and still can remember them name by name.
It all starts as we go out and go on patrol,
We pray to come back in one piece, which is our goal.
And yes, this is something that everyone prays for,
Because we see so much that hurts our hearts more and more.
To see our buddies get thrown and blown around,
Some are hurt and some just wounded, but others are heaven bound.
Coming back home is something that we all have to deal with and it is very hard,
Especially as we see our friends being buried in a National Cemetery grave yard.
To think that we will always remember these things as we get older and go through the years,
It's hard for us not to think about it and hold back the tears.
Some of us come with deep echoes and ringing sounds in our mind,
This causes us to lose control and to keep our way of thinking in a bind.
It is really hard for a lot of people to understand what it feels like to come back,
And to always feel like you are under attack.
Yes, this time of pain and is hard to control.
with help from the Lord and our family, we try to calm our soul.
As the time goes on and more and more of us are coming back and being diagnosed,
It finally helps us come out of our deep and wanting to be alone, and comatose.
Thank you to everyone that wants to try to understand what it feels like for us to go through and see what we see.
Because in our lives, it is finally here to show us that there is someone who cares for them and for me.

Here We Go
This ones fought the trendy set
This ones fought the feds
This ones fought the people baby
And tried to ruin my plans
This ones fought the radio
This ones fought the press
This ones fought the people baby
And made my life such a mess
Woah... here we go (we gotta go, we gottta go)
This ones fought the little girls
This ones fought the boys
This ones fought the people baby
And told me all their lies
Woah... here we go (we gotta go, we gottta go)
I will press the button
And they will go away
But dont forget to say your prayers
Before I blow them all away, I say
Woah... here we go (we gotta go, we gottta go)
Woah... here we go (we gotta go!)

Love Or Loneliness
(r. parker, jr.)
Had a nice time
I enjoyed the picture show
When you walked me to my door
I knew I wanted more
When I asked you in
It was already getting late
Though I knew better
I didnt eaven hesitate
I like the way you hold me
And make me feel so good
Though I say I wouldnt
You kinda knew that I would
Its been so long since ive
Been with a man
Better ask myself
While I still can
Is this love or is it just loneliness
When the sun comes up is this something we will both regret
Is this love or is it just loneliness
We ought to stop and ask ourselves is it really worth it
And how about you
Do you really want me
Or am I just here
To please your masculinity
You dont see me emough
To let me know you care
You know the worst thing for a woman
Is a sometime love affair
Seems like every time
I satisfy your needs
You dont call me back
For two or three weeks
What am I gonna do
I just cant fight
The temptation of loving you
Is this love or is it just loneliness
When the sun comes up is this something we will both regret
Is this love or is it just loneliness
We ought to stop and ask ourselves is it really worth it
Sometimes its hard
To tel the difference
Im just not sure
If its worth it
Is this love or is it just loneliness
When the sun comes up is this something we will both regret
Is this love or is it just loneliness
We ought to stop and ask ourselves is it really worth it
cause you never show up til midnight
Then you go home early
Now you know that aint right
Ive got a question I wanna ask you
Do you really love me or am I just a fool
Is this love or is it just loneliness
When the sun comes up is this something we will both regret
Is this love or is it just loneliness
We ought to stop and ask ourselves is it really worth it

Shadow Boxing
the war on drugs
the war for correctness
the war on terror
fought with the weapons of
drugs
terror
blatant inhumanity
it's a war alright
a war against freedom
fought from the inside
against itself
a cancer
that can only be cured
with civil action
while we still have the option
this country runs on business
we have no time for the considerations
of the individual
what are you going to do about it
myself
i am working on the morning after pill
for groutesque unwise congress
again cheers across the pond
for the workers
and cheers for tony
for whatever it's worth
it's the best thing you've done in a while
you have regained a shred of dignity

Along The War Avenue Of honour
Along the war Avenue of Honour a plaque to a dead soldier nailed to every tree
Brave young men who died in battle their reward for their bravery
They died in the war said to end all wars in the killing fields of World war one
But many wars since and far too many bloody battles and peace in the World not yet won.
Wars started by silly ageing men who send the young for them to die
Ageing men who themselves will die of old age and their twilight years they will enjoy,
ageing males heroes of their people we honour cowards as heroes one might say
The young men will go to war for them and the young men with their young lives pay.
The war supposed to end all wars long over almost nine decades since have gone by
But many wars have been fought since then and war pilots dropp their big bombs from the night sky
But suppose that's what will always happen when we give all of our power away
To silly and ageing male war men who with hair dyes cover their gray.
Along the war avenue of honour long dead soldiers names on every tree
Young noble men who died in battle far from homeland and family
In what was to be the war to end all wars yet we don't have much wisdom to show
For the loss of so many fine young men well over eight decades ago.
