The Heart of Things
There must be a man somewhere
Who sees into the heart of things.
Ventricles clogged by secret lust
For violence, bitter juice, revenge
Lost hope in passage, aspiration,
Breath, the dreams of dull routines
Drops of cherry-coloured tears
In channels run, immortal fears
That rear unbidden, clog and check
And strangle life remaining
Elevated, rising steam
From burning embers of the fight
Bright visions of eternity
In yearning for immunity
The heart lies void, resentful in the night
Its longing an imperative
To know the pleasure of the dawn
Pulsating in its seizure.
I know there is a man somewhere
Who sees into the heart of things
Sighing, he spreads out his wings
And cries.

Burning Embers
Fly through the glass of a window pane
fall through the sky feeling the rain
Walk on broken glass your tell-tale heart
Look through the bars of a dirty jail cell
soar to heaven dive to hell
Listen to your tell-tale heart
Setting fires in the ghost twilight
we see you dress we bolt with fright
You see an apparition disappear
Jump to the table, jump up the stairs
stand on the rooftop, looking out through the air
Walk on broken glass your tell-tale heart
Lenore, am I dreaming
How can death keep us apart, mmmm..
Lenore, I see you burning
And I'd walk on burning embers
walk on burning embers
Walk on burning embers your tell-tale heart
Walk on burning embers
walk on burning embers
Walk on burning embers your tell-tale heart
Walk on burning embers

Lost Tears (an ode to children of alcoholics)
LOST TEARS
To all the boys who never cried
My heart it weeps for you
Longing for a fathers touch
Slipping slowly out of view
A hand it reached within my chest
And entwined around my heart
With every beat the fingers grew
Until they covered every part
And keys would fumble in the door
What would this dark night bring
And in from the night the tyrant came
The beggars received their king
To bow and scrape, perhaps defuse
To laugh at every joke
Perhaps the tyrant king would sleep
Perhaps we would provoke
With every night the fire dies
Embers of the heart recede
The king is god, he rules supreme
Don't hurt our mum the children plead
And darkness overcomes the soul
Into the night the children flee
And all around the curtains fall
And when they fall you cannot see
Who will rid us of this endless night
The blackness and the shades of gray
For beneath the pillow held so tight
Is not a place where children play
Why do these tears that belong to you
Fall down from upon my face
For once I dwelt in shadowland
Its now your dwelling place
So if you wander in the night
A night within your heart
The true King sees behind your veil
He sees you play the part
Oh wont you come on bended knee
And find the tears you lost
The true King longs to set you free
And that at any cost
Don't you long to see the sun
And feel its warm embrace
A heart of flesh and not of steel
And tears upon your face
My God He is the tears you lost
Living waters from above
He restores the broken and the crushed
With Godly tears of love
The true King wept when you could not
He wept to see His Son
And with those tears on Calvary fought
And now the work is done
Come out from amongst the dead He cries
And He will deal with all your fears
For every time you could not cry
My God He shed your tears
And all these tears He's gathered
And they flow from Heavens throne
And when your swept up in this tide
You'll know you were not alone

Crying In The Rain
(coverdale)
A black cat moans
When hes burning with the fever
A stray dog howls
When hes lonely in the night
A woman goes crazy
With the though of retribution
But, a man starts weeping
When hes sick and tired of life
I keep on dreaming dreams of tomorrow
Feel Im wasting my time
Lighting candles in the wind,
Always taking my chances
On the promise of the future
But, a heart full of sorrow
Paints a lonely tapestry
The sun is shining
But, its raining in my heart
No one understands the heartache,
No one feels the pain,
cos no one ever sees the tears
When youre crying in the rain,
When youre crying in the rain,
Crying in the rain...
I can never deny
All the sweet things I have tasted
Tho Ive been mistreated
I keep coming back for more,
I know where Im going
Theres no hope of absolution
I cant seem to separate
The good times from the bad
The sun is shining
But, its raining in my heart
No one understands the heartache,
No one feels the pain,
cos no one ever sees the tears
When youre crying in the rain,
When youre crying in the rain,
When youre crying in the rain,
When youre crying in the rain
The sun is shining
But, its raining in my heart
No one understands the heartache,
No one feels the pain,
cos no one ever sees the tears
When youre crying in the rain,
When youre crying in the rain,
When youre crying in the rain,
When youre crying in the rain
Crying in the rain...

End of Innocence By Christina Montona
Secret, Secrets
Lies, Lies
She sits in her room
and Cries and Cries
There’s no more trust
In this girl’s heart
She finally found out
That life isn’t perfect
She lived in dreams
As children often do
But she crawled out
Into the world everyone knew
Things that once were
The truth of it all
to her was shown
her little heart
will never trust again
she’ll never know
a real true friend
no more trust
for no more lies
she’ll sit in her room
and cry and cry

Blind Sight
I look but don’t see the real world in front of me.
Moments waste away with the details of my day.
Do I have enough? How can I get more stuff?
Can I have another win or fit in one more sin?
When I look I can’t see
What’s important to me.
I worship things and seek pleasure.
I can’t see what I should treasure.
Then a blind man told me, he lost his sight so he could see.
He sees why he conquered grief since his life is all too brief.
He sees that everlasting love is true language from above.
He sees that darkness is for sleeping, not sorrow and weeping.
His spirit senses kindness and thanks to his blindness,
He knows that with vision of heart and mind,
It’s only his eyes that will be blind.

A Desert In The Heart
lost- he's surely lost now
when he tries to strip himself of a past
that keeps holding on
so many times before I've tried to let go
to peel off deception's mask
but hid my fears behind walls of sorrow
and like a cold, bitter chill one cannot shake
disillusionment sits by my side
(so in her I must confide)
she tells me dark secrets and grim tales of regrets
she tells me:
love is not lost, it dies like all things do
buried in the backyard where a lone dove cries
alone - no one to share her days with
she chokes on the stale dry air of memories
she chokes on the words she says to no one at night
and whispers her questions to the walls
and drifts to sleep
no one there to share her dreams
and oh how it hurts to see tears fall from her eyes
into the desert some are sent to starve
weary and weak they make their way home
and though our tired hearts will bear the scars
let us find who we are
buried in the night's shadows
I await the dawn of a new day
hold my hand, come with me
to the skies let us shout battle hymns
lust and love waging war to the very end
let us stomp on heavens below
let us not be afraid (for life wears a new face)
love is not lost, it dies like all things do
buried in the backyard where a lone dove cries
and waits for broken wings to heal...to fly again someday

It's There, Still There
It's there, still there, a past love's madness,
Dull pain and longing my heart fill.
Your image, hid amid the shadows
Of memory, lives in me still.
I think of it with endless yearning,
'Tis e'er with me though from me far,
Unreachable, unchanged, bright-burning
As in the sky of night a star...

Broken Hearts
Two hearts joined
In the fate of love
Two hearts break
In the wings of a dove
One heart still loves
Still hopes, Still dreams
One heart hurts
One heart Screams
The heart that loves
Still hopes, Still dreams
That's my heart
Torn at the seams
The heart that hurts
The one that screams
That's his heart
Torn at the seams
Two hearts lost
A beloved lil dream
The hurt the pain
A never ending dream
The heart that's his
Threw it away
The love, The affection
An eventful day
Two hearts joined
But ripped and torn
Just as violent
As a winter storm
One heart still loves
Still hopes, Still dreams
To one day fix his
and sew up the seams
But one heart still hurts
Still cries, Still screams
That's his heart
With no more dreams
A heart confused
A heart in pain
That's his heart
A heart with no gain
Two hearts broken
Ripped at the seams
But two hearts Joined
Forever in their dreams
My heart hopes
That his heart sees
The love we share
Was meant to be
My heart waits
For his to return
My heart hopes
That his will learn
That my heart and his
......Were meant to be

The Charioteer
When logic rules this heart of mine I donothing at all.
When passion rules this mind of mine I think nothing at all.
Beyond the reigns, Beyond the flesh lies the charioteer
Holding strong an eternity long, holding up the rear.
Turning when the time comes to etch circles into dust,
Learning with the sunrise, awaiting the dawn of dusk.
To lay down his head at the end of the day,
It shouldn't be too much to ask.
To lay down half dead be the friend of the day,
With hope for happiness friendships may last.
Always hoping redemption lies outcast just beyond his shoulder,
As The charioteer clears the way for a flood of fears as fears grow older.
To shed a tear for every fear I'd be here a thousand years,
Holding strong an eternity long, holding up the rear.

Three Shadows
I LOOKED and saw your eyes
In the shadow of your hair,
As a traveller sees the stream
In the shadow of the wood;
And I said, “My faint heart sighs,
Ah me! to linger there,
To drink deep and to dream
In that sweet solitude.”
I looked and saw your heart
In the shadow of your eyes,
As a seeker sees the gold
In the shadow of the stream;
And I said, “Ah me! what art
Should win the immortal prize,
Whose want must make life cold
And Heaven a hollow dream?”
I looked and saw your love
In the shadow of your heart,
As a diver sees the pearl
In the shadow of the sea;
And I murmured, not above
My breath, but all apart,—
“Ah! you can love, true girl,
And is your love for me?”

A Blessing Of Sorts
so long it's been
since she's seen him
missing him so
she asks for him to show
show he does
her heart starts to race
excitement
he see on her face
sit & talk
thats all they do
until the first kiss
turns into a few
things get heated
it has to stop
she doesn't have the heart
and soon he's on top
things are moving fast
she doesn't mind though
she's his canvas
and this is his show
eyes drifting closed
letting her body take over
kissing her senseless
tasting all of her
opening her eyes
she sees his face
her heart cries
wanting this to never end
turning her head
through the window she sees
lady lunar looking
down upon her bed
this is a blessing
letting her know
to let her
inhibitions go

my Heart
My heart oh my heart cried in the night solitude.
My heart oh my heart kept yearning very much in.
My heart oh my heart mourned the sadness in the middle of the uproar.
My heart oh my heart lose the warmth.
My heart oh my heart was engaged with the tears.
Heart oh heart could you breathe without the love?
Heart oh heart how did you overflow pain?
Would the heart bury personally the heart wound?
My heart oh my heart ran pursued darkness.
My heart oh my heart persuaded the love in the thoughts.
My heart oh my heart beckoned about the uproar.
My heart oh my heart dripped on the flowers with the tears.
My heart was your heart.
When you will come touched?
When you will smear my heart with warmth?
When you came and enchanted me?
Wings of Dreams Beat Hard...
Wings of dreams beat hard
Casting shadows
Rising and falling...
Of huge frames...
Flips d day...
His new face arises...
From bright and vivid...
To dark and dull...
Shadows lost...
For cloak of light...
Removed from the mirror of life...
And where once false
Now the being is lost
For this hour delayed yet shall fall...
Man let the bird land...
As days swiftly swing in the wings of dreams...
For night is delayed yet shall fall...
Morrow's dusk shall extend its fetters till eternity...

Powerless Surprised And Blinded
The cold winter wind cries like a child
when the black ripe spreads with devastation
as if it will find no comfort anywhere
while nature acts without mercy,
cries like a girl that has lost love
when tears glitter bright in drops of dew
as a bird is without a nest, without a companion,
there is even a yearning in the cobalt blue.
When drought devours the last grain,
when lines of dust hang red-brown full of seeds
that only blows away in the rough stormy wind,
then there is no power in all your deeds,
it is even if God is leaving you alone
while you want to cling on to His hand,
it feels if nowhere you can succeed,
there is even a yearning in the cobalt blue,
people become powerless surprised and blinded,
while they see birds comfortless on wires,
they feel as if God does not love them,
they notice despair in their wives;
there is harassment, a type of hatred
that wants to fold around every heart with darkness,
destiny strikes fatally, secretly accurate,
there is even a yearning in the cobalt blue.

If that high world
I
If that high world, which lies beyond
Our own, surviving love endears;
If there the cherished heart be fond,
The eye the same—except in tears—
How welcome those untrodden spheres!
How sweet this very hour to die!
To soar from earth and find all fears
Lost in thy light—Eternity!
II
It must be so—'tis not for self
That we so tremble on the brink,
And striving to o'erleap the gulph,
Yet cling to Being's breaking link.
Oh! in that future let us think
To hold each heart the heart that shares;
With them the immortal waters drink,
And soul in soul grow deathless theirs!

When You Wish Upon A Star
When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires will come to you
If your heart is in your dreams, nothing else is too extreme
When you wish upon a star as dreamers do
(fate is kind, she brings to those who love
The sweet fulfillment of their secret longing)
Like a boat out of the blue, fate steps in and sees you thru
When you wish upon a star, your dreams come true

The Rumour
(elton john/bernie taupin)
This is the last time
Ill look across this table
And try to face a feeling I dont even recognize
This is a sad hand
That reached across and touched you
When all wed built around us came crashing to the ground
There was a tide turning
Somewhere deep inside us
When all these years together seem lost behind my tears
Oh there were good times
But in between the dog days
I felt the pain of rumour whisper in my ears
But I still tried to love you
I still tried to care
Still tried to hold on with the power of my prayers
But you cant fight the rumour
You cant argue with you heart, no
Once the rumour spreads, once the rumour spreads
Once the rumour spreads, the truth is just a thing of the past
As the rain falls
I listen to the radio
And try to memorize the words to georgia on my mind
But were no old song
We never stood the test of time
The lies inside the rumour left trust so far behind
But I still tried to love you
I still tried to care
Still tried to hold on with the power of my prayers
But you cant fight the rumour
You cant argue with you heart, no
Once the rumour spreads, once the rumour spreads
Once the rumour spreads, the truth is just a thing of the past
And when we say goodbye
Be sure to look me in the eye
And know the real secret
Was the thing we didnt have to hide
But I still tried to love you
I still tried to care
Still tried to hold on with the power of my prayers
But you cant fight the rumour
You cant argue with you heart, no
Once the rumour spreads, once the rumour spreads
Once the rumour spreads, the truth is just a thing of the past
Once the rumour spreads, once the rumour spreads
The truth is just a thing of, its just a thing of
The truth is just a thing of the past

You're Forvever In Her Dreams
She stands in the sun
Wading though the ripples
That cascade into time
Her arms out stretched
Searching for love
She smiles as she sees
A possibility
Her heart beats fast
As she tastes
The heart felt
Emotions that beat
Inside your heart
And her laughter
Touches your being
Your soul
It embraces
The love
That only you know
Then with a sudden shock
A taste of reality
She starts to tremble
As she sees your fears
Tastes your despair
You doubt her love
You doubt her soul
How can she be?
What you think
Is your soul
You deny what you see
You deny what you know
She shatters in two
Like a broken sphere
From a broken
Shattered dream
She rises to the norm
From the darkness
We claim lays
Dormant in our souls
Like a flower she burst
Like a rippling effect
She shines onto thee
Her love, her energy
Tears trickle down
Upon her tear streaked cheeks
She knows in her heart
How much she loves
You so
She lets go of your heart
She lets go of her dreams
She cry's in the night
You're for ever
In her dreams

Empty Pockets
what does it mean to be free
does anybody care
the lost sounds of liberty
the last honest prayer
if Jesus died for my sins
then why do i still hurt
cant justify where i've been
drawing circles in the dirt
does love have a face
or no face at all
yes, and is there any place
for the little man to fall
and if God still cares
why are things so hard
crosses burning in the night
empty pockets in the heart
now what's the price of life
will anybody pay
children lost in the night
children lost in the day
no work, no jobs, and no hope
and nothing left to pawn
at the end of my rope
chasing shadows in the dawn
does love have a face
or no face at all
yes, and is there any place
for the little man to fall
and if God still cares
why are things so hard
crosses burning in the night
empty pockets in the heart...
what does it mean to be free...
