To the distant swamps,
Boors are driven,
Like stray dogs,
By the lathies and gun.

The shrieking mother
With her wingless child,
Who panted leaning on her shoulder:
Still an ember in the mind.

Grand mango tree dear,
An umbrella of the churls
In sweltering summer,
And a cradle of swinging boys,
Seen in silence pleading,
But sense free axe not the tree spared.
In the hearth and heart it burning,
Fire- wood turned.

Under the highway, buried the fields,
Where once plays and dances staged,
After the reap of golden awns,
At a night the moon fully bloomed.

The foot of bridge built for the road
Trod the tender river,
And like a fish arrow thrusted,
It in throe did welter.

New highway devoured the pond,
Where once yellow frogs,
From holes on the sand,
Bounced in to the concert in shrill notes,
As began the season of rain.
The chirping birds lost their nests,
Left the village in pain,
Keeping heavenly days under the wings.

When that way you rush,
In Ford, Benz or Qualis,
And see the souls in hush,
Wandering the way sides,
Stop the car at first sight,
To tell soothing words,
For the highway is built
Over their blood and dreams.

A beginning without an end
Is a meaning to something infinite
I have ran out of solutions
And came to this conclusion

There used to be light at the end of the tunnel

The Vision the Tree that was Me

I saw a tree so tall and straight
It almost reached to the heavenly gate
I was very close to that tall tree
I became the tree, and the tree became me A fire was burning all around
It burned the roots that were attached to the ground
The fire did not burn the heart of the tree;
As I was the tree and the tree was me. God saved the tree that was me,
God looks upon the heart you see
He saw a sinful heart set free
Sins all buried on the cross of calvary God took the tree that was me,
And planted it by crystal sea
I am the tree, and the tree of life is in me
I, and the tree are one you see, Would you like to be our neighbor?
A tree planted by the waters.

The Road We're On

'It's all a road we build'
he said
'you lay down the concrete
or tar for the asphalt;

you heat it
and take it through all the stages
with yellow lines
white lines-
a road has to have
boundaries and destinations.

There are the road signs:
'caution'
'soft shoulder'
'curves ahead'
'pedestrians'
'stop ahead'
'divided highway.'
'no u-turns.'
'highway patrol station

The thought
is whether the road we build
is our own
and whether it leads where we
want to go
and who on the road
we're traveling with.

Just like life.
Up and down hills;
speed bumps
parking lots
long rides

The trick is not to be
a highway statistic
didn't see the stop sign
ran over too many pedestrians.
or a high speed causality
best to hope for soft shoulders
and broad lanes
and the laughter of friends
as the sun shines overhead
taking us
home.
