Politicians, what are you about,
You are supposed to sort things out,
In Parliament, the seat of power,
Well, lets face it, you're a real shower,
For do you govern the country right
On our behalf, I don't think so, quite,
We really do not have a chance,
Listening to you, there's no advance.

It seems the simplest things we need
If left to you, all go to seed,
We wait, we wonder, we can't see why
It takes so long - Oh, how we sigh,
When all your talking comes to now't,
If left to us, we'd well sort out
These problems of our country's ills,
Without resorting to Westminster's pills.

Members of Parliament, what's your game,
Come along now, take the blame,
We put you in your higher state,
And yet to us you can't relate,
It seems you fleece our pockets well,
And, in due course, your chests you swell,
You give no answers, talk in riddles,
There you stand, playing your 'fiddles'.

At question time when doing 'biz',
Hot air! Hot air! That's all it is,
We vote you in, we feel disgraced,
We need to have our brains replaced,
So off you go, it's time to leave,
No good to stay, when you can't achieve,
So who'd run the country. well, that's well known,
It's men running business's of their own.

The So Called Honorable

For to cling to power or for need of power on most policies they disagree
Between the Government and their Opposition there's does not seem much difference to me
Those out of power verbally attack those in power that is how it's been for years
Who wins or loses the Election should not be cause for joy or tears.

Who is in or out of power I for one do not care
That they do not bring change to my life for the good I am all too aware
Democracy is the best form of Government by many we are told
But the workings of Parliament has not changed from the long gone days of old.

Of the praises of Democratically Elected Governments many feel happy to sing
But in Parliament that Parliamentarians obliged to vote with their own parties does not seem a democratic thing
And that the Party or Parties elected by the majority of the voters makes decisions for everyone
Is hardly true democracy when all is said and done.

The hierarchy refer to Parliamentarins as the honorable a title he or she for life does keep
But such a title for most Politicians makes the word honor seem cheap
Like dysfunctional adolescents in Parliament every day
Supposed to be honorable men and women behave in a most immature way.

The Power of Your Vote

Each vote is an invaluable opportunity to sound your voice;
To be a vital part of the country by expressing your choice.
No matter whether you're black, white, brown, yellow or tan,
Your vote counts the same as every other woman or man.
Even if you have made millions from the Wall Street game
Or work two jobs to feed your family, your vote is the same.
Your power is limitless as foolish, naïve politicians find out
When they don't listen to what your needs are all about.
Government serves you by the power of your votes and desires.
Vote them out if they can't find solutions this country requires.

The true view of my country: Swaziland

The true colors of my country
The true Swaziland
The true view of my country
How long have you been deceived?
How long have you received
How long have you conceived

Deceived of a peaceful country
Received about a democratic country
Conceived a developing country
This then is melody of the true Swaziland
A voice of the real Swaziland
A roar of the future of Swaziland

Around the cities of Manzini
Around the mountains of Mdzimba
Around the rivers of Shiselweni
Around the deserts of Lavumisa
You shall find the poor Swazis
You shall find the poor schools
You shall find the starving Swazis
You shall find the dying Swazis

Around the cities of Africa
Around the cities of Europe
Around the hospitals of South Africa
You shall find children of the leaders of Swaziland
You shall find brothers of the leader of Swaziland

For our education is less valued
For our hospitals are critical
For our salaries are drops
For our lives are miserable
Why my country
Why Swaziland

Houses of the leaders are a paradise
Our homesteads are falling mud and sticks
Their cars are glittering engines
Our cars were God given, ever barefooted
Food beyond measure is theirs
We rely on donations; see our water sources, fields and work places

The true image of my country
They call themselves members of parliament
Warming the chairs with not effective policies
Swazis have turned to misinterpret the duties of members of parliament
They are elected to donate food for them
Why my country
Why Swaziland.

Listen as I throw a true picture of my country
Hearken to my joyful tidings
We lead the world in HIV prevalence
We lead the world in violation of human rights
We lead the world in degrading of freedom of expression

My country is not white in color
My country is painted white
Swaziland is a dark black country
But so colorful
Colored white

Our voices are not heard in Africa
Our tears are not seen across the world
Our feelings are not noted in Africa
Our funerals are not counted in Africa
Our unjust imprisonments are not considered across the world

Are we in a different plant?
Is this Pluto

To Africa I sing this song
To the world I throw these words
We need a better Swaziland
We need a better country
A free Swaziland
A living, not leaving Swaziland

Minding Our Own Business

The universal warrior.
The ordinary fighting man
existing since the world began
A doer not a worrier.

He does as he is ordered to.
Its not his place to question why
The many ordered by the few.
His duty is to do or die.

The politicians and the brass
issue commands which he obeys
Its always been this way alas
and will be ‘til we change our ways.

Why should they send young men to fight
and die in some far distant land.
To try and prove that might is right.
Why can’t our leaders understand.

Each country is entitled to
govern their land in their own way
There’s very little we can do
We cannot force them to obey.

However much we disagree,
we have no right we can’t dictate.
they must accept democracy.
Each is an independent state.

Our leaders ought to concentrate
on problems in our own countries
Address them now they cannot wait
Re stabilise economies.

It’s not our place to interfere
on other countries home affairs
Past history makes this quite clear.
We have our problems they have theirs.

The evidence is plain to see
.Each country gets the government
they will accept eventually
By trial and experiment.

Although we think our way the best
it will not do for everyone.
So in our own best interest
We must learn to leave things alone.

Democracy is not perfect
Although we may pretend it is.
It is the best we can expect
although it’s rather hit or miss.

It is the best we can devise
as long as human nature rules.
We lack the knowledge to be wise.
We are a race of clever fools.

Is it time for me to go
The little girl wondered if she had a chance
Is it time to go
As she started packing her travelling bags and pants
Is it time yet
She wondered with great hope
But as her hope was slowly fading away
She felt like she could'nt cope
Please tell me is it time for me to..............
She thought and thought to find the right solution for her concern
But as she kept on thinking, her mind tended to burn
I want you to answer my question please
I want it right now, i'm on my knees
Tell me if i have a chance
Tell me if i will live through this journey away from my country and land
Tell me if i will still have the dignity to keep my head up high and stand
Tell me if i will ever go back to my country and race
Tell me if i'll see my countries glories and grace
All this beauty was stolen, when will they let me be
I have lost my country, i'm about to lose me
Is it time yet for me to go back
Is it time yet for me to pack
Is it time for me to see my country, my people, my reflection and whom I sought to be
Is it time to find that long lost person hidden inside of me?

Sigh In Relief

Blithely my spiritual guru declares,
happy smile on its channeler's face,
hands swinging in the air: difference
between sickness and - wellness - is
determined by the amount of time it
takes to figure out how to feel good -
when seeing something that makes us
feel bad - I have seen so many things
that make me feel bad lately, I do not
know how to begin to feel good again

The only saving grace is laughter and
humour; a high-ranking official recently
said: Criminals should feel unwelcome
in South Africa - which means most of
the country's inhabitants, from educated,
sophisticated white collar fraudsters - to
uncouth, violent street thugs, should feel
unwelcome in our own country, including
all politicians, what a marvellously funny
idea - her well-meant remark

Was cause for great mirth in a world where
most everybody has joined criminal cadres
for survival - where dishonesty, laziness and
lack of integrity are actually rewarded - and
I sigh in relief - at least it means there is
room for me…

Real Losers

one is the soul of the country one is the wealth
both seem not to know how best to give to the country

one says one is the real son of the country
the other says he is equally a son of the country
for he helps build up the country, feed the nation
and develop it blood and sweat

one insists he is the real master
the other says he wishes to have similar status

both go on and on until they forget there is
a country to be fed, to be built, and both

Feel too good to go to work today
I need a little more time so I can stay this way
Lets go for a ride on the circle line
Couldnt you use a day in the sunshine
Mustnt let your bank payments get behind
The bills may pile up, I just brush them off my mind
I cant let debt collectors bother me

Now that the holidays have come
They can relax and watch the sun

Go to the country take the dog

What a pity

That the country brings.

Pora, Pora Pora is word used to say'Go off'

'Go off 'shouted a father of brave son,
'Here lay my son' I need no polson,
dare not to step in my courtyard?
Go, stay away and keep many yard,

Many brave officers laid their lives,
Just to defend and save husbands of wives,
jumped to death, cared not for life,
saved precious monument when situation not rife,

Whole country is mourning death,
Paying homage and offering wreath,
He may be buried in simple manner,
But not allow any who is more sinner

'TaJmahal' may loose status of heritage,
loose its pride because of sacrilege,
May not it stand in form of vintage,
lie in rubble, may remain only on page,

Politicians may come and also go
Country may burn but vote bank not forgo
old may go and replace by some one,
All may be different but stage only one,

Who will be axed and who will be taxed?
No change of scene, problem only waxed,
what a way of putting country to a shame,
Shame act not but whom do we blame,

Such was the outburst from a slain hero,
Top politicians tried to make him zero,
“I should have not visited” if he not soldier,
Let dog not visit home if not lost life on boarder,

Let country go to dogs and hell,
when others do fair and I share shell,
If no spoils or booty what do we share,
Then how do I feel? Not any better,

I should have my share and not care
Let that come from arms, ammunition or ware,
I care less and think no more,
I am politician and not simple whore,

People not remember and soon may forget,
We may talk more at the time of budget,
Inquiry may be held and publish in gazette
Guilty will be free and soon offered fete,

Ghosts may emerge from single window,
Buried will get up and not leave their shadow,
It will be very difficult to rebuild the country
But soon may be upheaval and also new entry.
