The Boat I Sail
I'm looking into a picture of a turbulent stormy sea,
And imagining I am battling against its wild fury.
The winds are whipping cruelly around the boat I sail,
Lashing it with salt spray, hurricane and gale.
The waves are rising skywards, fifty feet or more,
And I can hardly see at all, in this violent downpour,
Clouds are dark and heavy, rumblings can be heard,
But in the midst of this cacophony, I spy no living bird.
It's as if the world is angry, stirring up a fearful fight,
I try to hold the craft on course, struggling in my plight,
The ocean is never static, it is restess all the while,
Forever in perpetual motion, and constantly hostile.
I stand back now from the image, of power uncontrolled,
The painter creates a vision that's forceful, strong and bold,
He has captured all the terror, the brutality of the deep,
In just a few deft brush strokes, this drama begins to seep.
Into my mind, and whilst dreaming, a fantasy can start,
About being heroic and daring, fearless, brave and smart.
Such a confrontation here, between me and the water's rage,
Thinking I could possibly, such ill humour, thus assuage.
But I know I would wait forever to see calmness in this scene,
For it is a painting, sealed in time, and could never be serene.

A life on the ocean wave
A life on the ocean wave,
A home on the rolling deep,
Where the scattered waters rave,
And the winds their revels keep!
Like an eagle caged, I pine
On this dull, unchanging shore:
Oh! give me the flashing brine,
The spray and the tempest's roar!
Once more on the deck I stand
Of my own swift-gliding craft:
Set sail! farewell to the land!
The gale follows fair abaft.
We shoot through the sparkling foam
Like an ocean-bird set free; -
Like the ocean-bird, our home
We'll find far out on the sea.
The land is no longer in view,
The clouds have begun to frown;
But with a stout vessel and crew,
We'll say, Let the storm come down!
And the song of our hearts shall be,
While the winds and the waters rave,
A home on the rolling sea!
A life on the ocean wave!

The Falconer Of God
I flung my soul to the air like a falcon flying.
I said, “Wait on, wait on, while I ride below!
I shall start a heron soon
In the marsh beneath the moon—
A strange white heron rising with silver on its wings,
Rising and crying
Wordless, wondrous things;
The secret of the stars, of the world’s heart-strings
The answer to their woe.
Then stoop thou upon him, and grip and hold him so!”
My wild soul waited on as falcons hover.
I beat the reedy fens as I trampled put.
I heard the mournful loon
In the marsh beneath the moon.
And then, with feathery thunder, the bird of my desire
Broke from the cover
Flashing silver fire.
High up among the stars I saw his pinions spire.
The pale clouds gazed aghast
As my falcon stooped upon him, and gript and held him fast.
My soul dropped through the air—with heavenly plunder?—
Gripping the dazzling bird my dreaming knew?
Nay! but a piteous freight,
A dark and heavy weight
Despoiled of silver plumage, its voice forever stilled—
All of the wonder
Gone that ever filled
Its guise with glory. O bird that I have killed,
How brilliantly you flew
Across my rapturous vision when first I dreamed of you!
Yet I fling my soul on high with new endeavor,
And I ride the world below with a joyful mind.
I shall start a heron soon
In the marsh beneath the moon—
A wondrous silver heron its inner darkness fledges!
I beat forever
The fens and the sedges.
The pledge is still the same—for all disastrous pledges,
All hopes resigned!
My soul still flies above me for the quarry it shall find!

By The Ocean (For Dislocated Heart)
I stand by the ocean,
Breathing in the crisp air of night fall,
Watching the moon slipping away,
As the sky melts into the sea;
An endless darkness.
I can feel my mind falling into its depths,
Thinking about every breath I take,
About the world above,
And the world below.
Questions fill my mind,
Questions of life, living, and existence,
Yet still I stand,
Silent and still.
The gentle breeze in the palm trees,
Brushing my hair across my face.
The wind pushes my dress against my legs,
The feeling almost mimicking that of the water.
I can feel the cool spray of the ocean with each wave,
A giant lung breathing the same air as I.
It is a calm entity existing to exist.
A world so unknown and full of wonder,
Yet so simple from above…
I breath a sigh and close my eyes,
The sight of the waves imprinted on my eyelids,
The scent filling my nose and mouth,
The water touching my skin,
The taste of the salt on my tongue,
The repetitive sound of the water endlessly fill my mind.
My feet buried in sand as if to be innocent sand crabs.
A moment so calm and simple,
Yet so meaningful,
If you take the time to experience it,
A moment in which nothing else matters,
Nothing but the water, the sand, and living.
Everything else, like the sky,
Melts away into the sea,
Into the endless dark abyss.
And so I stand,
By the water,
Living and breathing.
If only the world would stop for a moment,
A moment to live and breathe too;
So relaxing and yet so eye opening.
The silence of the night wrapping around me,
The ocean rocking me into sweet oblivion.
Until I have to open my eyes and walk inside,
Back to reality,
But until then,
I'll just stand here,
By the ocean.

Paradise Blessed
Rippling blue, sky's reflection,
Sea and river, winds direction.
Water lapping, briskly flowing,
Twinkling facets, motion growing.
Sunshine glinting, sparkling array,
Shining sunbeams, jewelled ballet.
Waves disturbing, turning grey,
Lightning flashes, sparks ricochet.
Gloom descending, thunder cracks,
Whipping twister, storm attacks.
Lashing downpour, terror felt,
Endless tumult, hailstones pelt.
Calmness gathers, squall complies,
Raindrops ceasing, uproar dies.
Gentle breezes, warming air,
Peaceful nature, silence rare.
Azure welkin, zephyr caressed,
Abundant freshness, paradise blessed.

Galleon Of Gold
And as I watch the breaking dawn
The sun begins to rise,
Above the scarlet clouds within
The early morning skies,
And as another day begins
My dreams I'll never hold,
Unless I sail across the ocean
In my galleon of gold.
I head out on a journey now
Not knowing where to go,
Searching for the rainbow's end
That never seems to show,
No treasure lies within my hand
My dreams I'll never hold,
Unless I sail across the ocean
In my galleon of gold.
Through seas so rough and stormy and
The winds that blow so strong,
I'll try to find the answers now
To where it all went wrong,
I'll search to find my destiny
My dreams I'll never hold,
Unless I sail across the ocean
In my galleon of gold.
I'll find a way to happiness
And leave this stony shore,
And far behind the past shall stay
My future waits before,
The stars will be my guiding light
My dreams I'll never hold,
Unless I sail across the ocean
In my galleon of gold.

Back To The Future
(diana ross/bill wray/jim wray)
Every days a new beginning
Thats what I stand for
Since our possibilities
In a world out of control
Youre looking for a miracle
To spray the air feel the rain
Since youre out of control
Married to pain
Which way forever
Which way will I go
Which way forever
Theres no heroes
Take me back, take me out
Back to the future
Back to the future
Change your thinking
Change your mind
Back to the future
Close your eyes and pretend
That youre a bird in the sky
Turn your face to the wind
I know you can learn to fly
Which way forever
Which way will I go
Which way forever
Theres no heroes
Take me back, take me out
Back to the future
Back to the future
Change your thinking
Change your mind
Back to the future
Back to the future
Take me back, take me out
Back to the future
Back to the future
Change your thinking
Change your mind
Back to the future
Back to the future
Believe you can be
Believe that you can
You can make a stay
We can change the world
I know we can
You gotta take me back, take me out
Back to the future
Back to the future
Change your thinking
Change your mind
Back to the future
Back to the future
Take me back, take me out
Back to the future
Back to the future
Change your thinking
Change your mind
Back to the future
Back to the future

The Red Strokes
Moonlight on canvas, midnight and wine
Two shadows starting to softly combine
The picture theyre painting
Is one of the heart
And to those who have seen it
Its a true work of art.
(chorus)
Oh, the red strokes
Passions uncaged
Thundering moments of tenderness rage
Oh, the red strokes
Tempered and strong (fearlessly drawn)
Burning the night like the dawn
Steam on the window, salt in a kiss
Two hearts have never pounded like this
Inspired by a vision
That they cant command
Erasing the borders
With each brush of a hand
*chorus*
Oh, the blues will be blue and the jealousies green
But when love picks its shade it demands to be seen
*chorus*
Oh, the red strokes
Passions uncaged
Thundering moments of tenderness rage
Oh, the red strokes
Tempered and strong (fearlessly drawn)
Burning the night like the dawn.
Steam on the window, salt in a kiss
Two hearts have never pounded like this.

Weather Phobia
Thunder comes rolling across the sky
Lightening bolting, like great fires
I have to watch this from inside
The weather so bad, I'm terrified
The waves of the ocean, come crashing in
The clouds in the skies, they start to spin
Just listening to every weather report
Will my home have to be my fort?
Will it rain enough to flood?
Or will it be just a lot of mud?
The hurricanes and tornadoes, coming in
Will the water rise and terror began?
Do I stay or do I need to evacuate?
Do I leave now or do I wait?
Hurricane's headed here, what shall I do?
Don't know if it will turn, or when it's due
Living near the gulf is a terror each year
Thinking it will hit, causes me great fear
Have a phobia, going into a panic attack
I need to get together, everything I can pack
What do I do and where can I go?
I have to leave soon, the traffic will be slow
Boarding up the windows and taking what I can
Waiting to the last, for this great escape plan
Living near the ocean, causes me great fear
Maybe it won't happen, again next year!

You Don't Miss Your Water ('Til The Well Runs Dry)
As I sail with you across the finest oceans
On a way to find the key to our emotions
Together we will move the clouds to brighter days
Some people question what I say
Tried to break up you and me
But I know this love between us is growing stronger
You can call me whenever from wherever
Just remember that
I'll be there
Through all the stormy weather
Us break up never
No we'll be together
Forever
[Chorus:]
You don't miss your water 'til the well runs dry
But I believe so strongly in you and I
Can somebody answer me the question why
You don't miss your water til the well runs dry
As I close my eyes
Sit back while reminiscing
Of when we used to fuss and fight but end up kissing
There may be sad and pain for time so long to wait
But in my heart you'll always be everything and more to me
For I know this love between us is growing stronger
You can call me whenever from wherever
Just remember that
I'll be there
Through all the stormy weather
Us break up never
No we'll be together
Forever
[Chorus]
For you are always on my mind
You are always on my mind
Girl you know that you
You are always
You are always on my mind
You are always forever
[Chorus]
You don't miss your water girl no
But I believe so strongly in you and I yeah
Can somebody answer me the question why
Cause you don't miss your water 'til the well runs dry yeah listen
If you ever get the feeling
You wanna play around starting cheating

Shadow
I am a shadow;
I dance in rhythm with the changing of the seasons.
As the rain falls, I weep.
I become sky lightening as a storm approaches.
I fight with thunder in an approaching squall.
I rage war with the fury of the wind-
With the locusts, I scream.
The creek’s water rushes over its banks, and
As torrential rains inundate its surface,
I am the shadow that is reflected in the pond, into where the
Creek empties, then sighs- as the
Storm subsides.
I am that shadow, motionless, but angry.
I am a shadow lost in the wild-
I follow the deer-
They do not fear me-
I am silent and cautious but wrathful.
No one can envision the flame that sears my soul- as
My rage smolders.
My shadow is the inner child living within me that
Plays a game with the brushfire that blazes in the forest,
That shadow that blends with the darkness as the
Sun sets, and with the rising of the moon,
I am its shadow that reappears, coming into its power.
I chant with the rustling of the trees and the singing of the nightingale, as the
Late summer’s breeze carries me.
I glance with grace and dignity at the treetops,
Lost and confused, I am searching for life’s meaning,
A home for myself, and an escape from reality-
I am the shadow of my dreams,
I have no future in this world;
I am only a shadow,
Lost in the woodlands,
Blending with the trees, and fading into the night-
As shy as the deer, but invisible-
I scream with the locusts,
I dance,
I chant.
Invisible to this world, here I am powerless and fearful, though as
I disappear into the horizon,
Hidden inside a mountain of clouds, I return to my power.
I have found here another place in time where
No one can harm me.
I am my own person, strong, brave and angry-
Lost somewhere in these clouds,
I have found a safe haven.
I dissolve into nothingness, and follow my dreams.
Whether it be in a dream or in reality,
I shall be found and never lost.
There will always be shadows dancing with the rhythm of the
Changing of time…

Peace Like A River
My peace is like a river
Winding slowly to the sea
My heart is deeper than the ocean
Filled with love He gave to me
Oh love that knows no ending
Rise up and set me free
I shall sail forever on this ocean
Forever, ever closer unto thee
Fill my sails oh precious Jesus
Wind of the Spirit propel me on
Over seas of tranquil beauty
To the horizon and beyond
I have sailed through stormy waters
When all my days had turned to night
I have sailed though windless days
Often tempted, tired, and no more fight
Sometimes the sun it seems to set
And we fight the rising tide
Of fear and darkness and regret
Yet thou art always by my side
So sail on my heart, to journey's end
Sail on into the night
And neither wind nor rain nor stormy seas
Shall diminish the morning light

Anywhere
I WALK THE MAZE OF MOMENTS
BUT EVERYWHERE I TURN TO
BEGINS A NEW BEGINNING
BUT NEVER FINDS A FINISH
I WALK TO THE HORIZON
AND THERE I FIND ANOTHER
IT ALL SEEMS SO SURPRISING
AND THEN I FIND THAT I KNOW
YOU GO THERE YOURE GONE FOREVER
I GO THERE ILL LOSE MY WAY
IF WE STAY HERE WERE NOT TOGETHER
ANYWHERE IS
THE MOON UPON THE OCEAN
IS SWEPT AROUND IN MOTION
BUT WITHOUT EVER KNOWING
THE REASON FOR ITS FLOWING
IN MOTION ON THE OCEAN
THE MOON STILL KEEPS ON MOVING
THE WAVES STILL KEEP ON WAVING
AND I STILL KEEP ON GOING
YOU GO THERE YOURE GONE FOREVER...
I WONDER IF THE STARS SIGN
THE LIFE THAT IS TO BE MINE
AND WOULD THEY LET THEIR LIGHT SHINE
ENOUGH FOR ME TO FOLLOW
I LOOK UP TO THE HEAVENS
BUT NIGHT HAS CLOUDED OVER
NO SPARK OF CONSTELLATION
NO VELA NO ORION
THE SHELLS UPON THE WARM SANDS
HAVE TAKEN FROM THEIR OWN LANDS
THE ECHO OF THEIR STORY
BUT ALL I HEAR ARE LOW SOUNDS
AS PILLOW WORDS ARE WEAVING
AND WILLOW WAVES ARE LEAVING
BUT SHOULD I BE BELIEVING
THAT I AM ONLY DREAMING
YOU GO THERE YOURE GONE FOREVER...
TO LEAVE THE THREAD OF ALL TIME
AND LET IT MAKE A DARK LINE
IN HOPES THAT I CAN STILL FIND
THW WAY BACK TO THE MOMENT
I TOOK THE TURN AND TURN TO
BEGIN A NEW BEGINNING
STILL LOOKING FOR THE ANSWER
I CANNOT FIND THE FINISH
ITS EITHER THIS OR THAT WAY
ITS ONE WAY OR THE OTHER
IT SHOULD BE ONE DIRECTION
IT COULD BE ON REFLECTION
THE TURN I HAVE JUST TAKEN
THE TURN THAT I WAS MAKING
I MIGHT BE JUST BEGINNING
I MIGHT BE NEAR THE END

Dark Crescent Moon Waves
Walking on the beach,
Staring at the sea of eternity
on how it is so serene at night,
watching the dark water is lit up by the crescent moon that is sunken
into the sea of life
Hearing the water crashing to the beach,
and seeing the swirling twilight sky is reflected on the dark water,
like it's the mirror to my soul
The push and pull of the waves,
is cursed by the black magic that moons hold
a curse that is so beautiful and so powerful
Like a picture in a sky
that is burn to my mind,
The dark mist of cloud covering the moon and sky like a blanket,
but sailing in the dark sea sky
Soon the sky of twilight fades away
as the phoenix's sun rise breaking through the clouds of dusk
and now the sea becomes in rage
as tides come down like god's hammer
and the sun's lights the sea in emerald green
The ocean is like another realm of life
where can it be beautiful and dangerous

Return To Fantasy
Searching every day
Looking every way
Trying to make a connection
To find a piece of the action
Like a hungry poet
Who doesnt know
He is close to perfection
Choice is the question
Moonlight night
After moonlight night
Side by side
They will see us ride
But if they cared to look
Then they would see
Its our return to fantasy
Fantasy, fantasy
Can you understand
That in every man
Theres a need to unwind
Thats never been defined
Somewhere deep within
Theres another being
You are somehow abusing
By the person youre using
Moonlight night
After moonlight night
Side by side
They will see us ride
But if they cared to look
Then they would see
Its just our return to fantasy
Fantasy, fantasy
Travelling faster than lightening
Closer than ever before
We can go on for you
And take you nearer to
The legend of mystery
From the beginning of time
Dreaming... time ... dreaming
We can return to
The land of the good and the kind
Time... dreaming... time... dreaming
Why dont you come to our party
And open your minds
In another place
Theres a newer face
Like an unfinished painting
Your creator is waiting
The brush and pen describe
What it is inside
That will set your mind thinking
While the others are sinking

Sonnet II
As strong, as deep, as wide as is the sea,
Though by the wind made restless as the wind,
By billows fretted and by rocks confined,
So strong, so deep, so wide my love for thee.
And as the sea; though oft huge waves arise,
So oft that calms can never quite assuage,
So huge that ocean’s whole self seems to rage;
Yet tranquil, deep, beneath the tempest lies:
So my great love for thee lies tranquil, deep,
Forever; though above it passions fierce,
Ambition, hatred, jealousy; like waves
That seem from earth’s core to the sky to leap,
But ocean’s depths can never really pierce;
Hide its great calm, while all the surface raves.

The Wild Dogs
They are here
where winds of hope stir
but they are here to tear
not to serve hope but despair
The wild dogs licking
with their tongues dripping
and with their legs limping
in terror seething
all the children leaving
claws of greed tearing
into the womb of the nation
canines of power biting
into the foundations of our heritage
growls of shame lingering
in the hearts of our leaders
so wild but for a while
where power corrupts absolutely
so foreign but not forever
we pray they come back home
to share our plight; and lead the fight

If I Were A Painting
If I were a painting
Captured on canvas
Alone in the portriat I would stand
And brush strokes bold
Yet soft as a whisper
The work of a feminine hand.
Caught in a still life
Surrounded by shadows
And lost in a background of blue
If I were a painting
My price would be pain
And the artist would have to be you.
I imagine the colors
Would all run together
If you ever allowed me to cry
So don't paint the tears
Just let me remember me
Without you in my eyes.
It's only the frame
That holds me together
Or else I would be falling apart
If I were a painting
I wouldn't feel
And you wouldnt be breaking my heart...

Fury Of The Wild
Sighs - The fury has electrified my mind
Sighs - The hatred burns inside by the mark of vengeance I will grind
Sighs - The sound of metal falling to the ground
Sighs - By blood we will unite by blood we are forever bound
Vengeance calling me
Oh, please set me free
The Fury of the Wild
Locked up in this cage
Can't you feel the rage?
The Fury of the Wild
Sighs - Your silence will not sanctify your crime
Sighs - When revolution calls I will be the first in line
Vengeance calling me
Oh, please set me free
The Fury of the Wild
Locked up in this cage
Can't you feel the rage?
The Fury of the Wild
Now as you stand on your own
With the future, face to face
Take a look at me now
Feel the fury, taste my rage
Come taste my revenge
Unbent - Unbowed - Unbroken
Vengeance calling me
Oh, please set me free
The Fury of the Wild
Locked up in this cage
Can't you feel the rage?

Captured Memory
stuck in a moment
a split second
a picture of joy or even lament
You may have smiled
or maybe not
without the picture you would of forgot
Stuck in a scapbook
stuck in time
I am the picture and the picture is mine
Forever in my memory
forever in my mind
I have my pictures of memory sealed and signed
A split second it was captured
Into my past
A way to remember, and a memory find

There Are Waves Breaking Foaming Around Me
There are waves breaking foaming around me
hitting with angry power,
while a storm is unleashed on the sea and in my life,
a boat in the distance is twisting as if it is sinking
while it is dangerously recoiling up and down
with stormy winds bashing at it,
it seems as if it is going to disappear under the swelling water
and still You are there to protect that boat and me
and today I want to make You the helmsman of my life,
I ask You to steer me safely to the harbour of rest,
I pray that You will protect me in my ways
and like that boat I am missing on a stormy sea
where only Your almighty hand
can bring me safely to land, to the other side of darkness.
