The Bench

I saw her and felt very sad
There she was, thinly clad,
Sitting on a bench on a railway station,
Motionless, there was no animation,
No showing of any observation,
Her aura was one of devastation,
Although things were happening all around her,
Nothing seemed to make her move or even stir,
Actually no movement of any kind,
She was acting, totally blind,
No spark of recognition,
Or of making a decision,
Staring blankly into space,
As if lost without a trace.
I wondered what was making her this way,
All I could do for her, was to silently pray,
And watch the tears go sliding down her face,
Oblivious of the place, that was her location,
Which was, sitting on a bench on a railway station.

Space Station Mia

Sitting on a slow train-watching the grey sky
I smell your closeness as you take a seat close by
And soon I fantasize over your reflection
You don't see my advances of deception

Ain't it funny how someone so near
Can act as if they are on the Space Station Mia

Tickets please-the fat man says
You lend me a smile as he waddles away
I am fascinated to see what your text message says
Is it from your lover-does he miss you today

Ain't it funny how someone so near
Can act as if they are on the Space Station Mia

Every station that passes- every stop we make
Adds another word to what I should say
Were slowing down-your walking away
My lost conversation - my sunshine today

Ain't it funny how someone so near
Can act as if they are on the Space Station Mia

I Saw a God With a Beard!

That railway station abandon
No more trains stop,
He sits the beggar on a wooden bench
And he shares his scanty cold meal
with a stray dog!
Moon witnessed the strange dinner
with me.

Bench

Sitting on a bench watching people go by.
Smiles and frowns, Stares and glares
Wondering what they are thinking?
Is it me greeting them one by one
Or me sitting on a bench.
The seat of comfort and distractions
a place to think and read
Feed the birds, Friendly chats
Surprising hellos, A lot of old fellows
wanting the seat, for they are beat!
Everyone's favorite seat
The bench of life

South Station Blues

Got no place to run
Got no place to hide
Sittin at the railway station
Destination far behind, behind
Lived my life for love
Love thats hard to find
Some are givers, Im a taker
Love can make you blind
Make you blind
Got no time to lose
Time you just cant find
Give a dozen yesterdays
To make tomorrow mine
Make it mine
Got one life to live
That just borrow time
Dont close or blink your eyes
You lose your chance to fly
Chance to fly
Got no place to run
Got no place to hide
Sittin at the railway station
Destination far behind, behind
Lived my life for love
Love thats hard to find
Some are givers, Im a taker
Love can make you blind
Make you blind

At the Pond

As I looked around the pond
I see people playing in the snow
Laughing and throwing snowballs at each other
Making snow angles with great pride
Children sledding down the hill as if flying

As I look on the pond
I see people skating
Skating like soaring eagles
Twirling like tornadoes
But graceful as a ballerina dance

As I look around the pond
I see a people having fun
Enjoying themselves
Helping each other as if they were their little sister
I see a peaceful and fun world

But I
I am having no fun
No fun at all
For I am sitting on the bench
Sitting on the bench like a lost dog
For I am cripple

Secret World

I stood in this sunsheltered place
til I could see the face behind the face
All that had gone before had left no trace
Down by the railway siding
In our secret world, we were colliding
All the places we were hiding love
What was it we were thinking of?
So I watch you wash your hair
Underwater, unaware
And the plane flies through the air
Did you think you didnt have to choose it
That I alone could win or lose it
In all the places we were hiding love
What was it we were thinking of?
In this house of make believe
Divided in two, like adam and eve
You put out and I recieve
{chorus:}
Down by the railway siding
In our secret world, we were colliding
In all the places we were hiding love
What was it we were thinking of?
Oh the wheel is turning spinning round and round
And the house is crubling but the stairways stand
With no guilt and no shame, no sorrow or blame
Whatever it is, we are all the same
Making it up in our secret world [x3]
Shaking it up
Breaking it up
Making it up in our secret world
Seeing things that were not there
On a wing on a prayer
In this state of disrepair
[chorus]
Shh, listen...

Parenthood

The family sat on a bench at a station
with joe's son and his wife acting in a certain fashion
His son went up to the stall to order a drink
In a subtle way, he added a tablet to sink
'have it dad', son said, his tone morose and deep
The drink, actually, did steal the light and put joe to sleep
As he heard the train passing by
Joe yawned and got up with a sigh
with his son, sitting in the train, there alone joe stood
His tears having valued the worth of his 'parenthood'.....

My Beloved

' My beloved, my angle
Sweetest girl on this earth for me.
I love her so much
But she din't gives a chance to me.'
' I din't love her for her beauty or anything
But I love her for manythings.
At the railway station I was thinking that
I got the punishment of loving someone.'
' I did love her so pure
I want to spend my life with her for sure.
I did love, I did respect, I did care
But she din't wants to see my face anywhere.'
' May she gimme a chance one day
Otherwise she will regret some day.
I tried to talk to her manytime
But she has one answer no! every time.'
' At the railway station I was thinking that
I got the punishment of loving someone.
People says that there is another after every train
But there is only one which get u home.'
' The confusion is growing up such as
Child growth after having complain.
I love her so much by my soul
But she say's that is that the all.'
' I do pray for her all the day
I want her smiling face all the day.
May God give her all the happiness
May she understand my love's deepness.'
'My beloved, my angle
Sweetest girl on this earth for me.
I love her so much
But she din't gives a chance to me.'

The Boy who Sees His Dark Face After a Long Time

A market place where nearby
The old Railway station
Under the hot Sun,
The shoeshine boy
Not yet ten
With his holey satchel
Who shines the old retired
Bachelor Station Master's shoes
And he sees on the toe his dark face
After a long time since the day
Broke the mirror
And kicked his Mom away
By the drunkard father!

Opening of the Railway Line

The opening of the railway line...
The Governor and all,
With flags and banners down the street,
A banquet and a ball,
Hark to them at the station now !
They're raising cheer on cheer,
The man who brought the railway through,
Our friend the engineer.

Here I go again

Here I go again.
Another attempt I try to make.
I pray the suicide angel will come and get me.
I pray for it to be soon.
I don't want to see noon.

Here I go again.
I go and buy the pills.
I go and get the blades.
Down I go to the station.
And hide in the shelter.
Here I hide at the deserted train station.
Only two trains a day.
I shall be gone before then.

Here I go again.
Sitting waiting for death.
As I draw my last breath.
It wont be here we go again

Farewell

My far away dumb lass
I hear your unsung sad song
from your talking eyes.
Your shattered lips
will not allowed for a kiss.
With my faded dreams
I sat on an isolated bench
in this ruined station.
I am sure that your express train
won't stop here.
I see the parallel railway lines
which stretched over to the promiseland.
My stringless lute cries with me
and I know this is the last goodbye train
to the eternity.

Dedication to the speechless souls who died in warfare.

Chatting Today

I worked for the union and on my very first communion, you know,
It never ever, ever, ever worked out right
So I spent the night sleepin on the railway
I worked for the foundry and man my mind it nearly drowned
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
It never, it could never work out right
So I said so long, amigo. good night and slept on the railway
The railway, theres no better way, ooh the railway
And its nice to talk to you today
I worked for the miller, a very, very nice type of fell-a {fellow}
But I could see that it was never gonna work out right
So I split and spent the night sleeping on the railway
I worked in the subway arc, oh yeah, yeah
You know it never, no no never, no never no, ever no, worked out right
So I said so long and spent the night on the railway
The railway, give me a bottle of whiskey, ooh the railway
Ooh, theres nothin like the railway
And Id like to thank someone for mascara and good things that I done
And for the time ya spent and the friendship begun
And most of all starry nights on the railway
Ooh, I dont know no better way
Than just, ooh, lyin back an drifting away
I can hear it, I can hear it

The Old Man On A Bench...

An old man on a withered bench
Down by the ocean's end
Staring at the stormy sky
wondering if she's there up high
watching him sit in their favorite spot
where he wrote - forget me not...
'Here is the bench where we would sit
you and I a perfect fit'
He whispers softly to the wind
and wishes she would hear
how he misses her
or wipe the tear
that silently creeps down his face
as he remembers a time and place
Her lively eyes
Her soft grey hair
Memories so bitter-sweet
are all he has of her
And in his gnarled old hand
he lovingly holds her wedding band

Available free

We are on loosing spree
Death is available totally free
We have destroyed the trees
We soon may be bending our knees

Time is not far off when there will be turn in atmosphere
We won’t find safe place to go anywhere
Where is the space to move here and there?
We are acting irresponsible and not fare

The nature is giving in to mad race
The natural wealth is loosing its face
There complete hollowness in earth’s belt
The consequences may be known later or felt

The earth is sliding and gradually and making way
The extraction of oil and coal has taken security away
The secret movement under the earth belt is causing worry
The day is not far off when we will feel compete sorry

There may be devastation all over
We are loosing shield and nice cover
The sky is over burdened with useless objects
There is no control over stupid and unreasonable acts

Tidal waves are rising to dangerous level
The rivers are in spate as bad sequel
The banks are threatened with complete destruction
It may swallow it anytime with dangerous inductions

What to think of sea, air or land?
We can’t blame it on unseen hand
The nature has always acted as friend
We are hell bent upon bringing an end

The end may not be easy and quick
We must stop playing the dirty tricks
The generation may be faced with dangerous diseases
It will be an appropriate reason to go down and cease

City crowd

We are absolutely unaware of city crowd
So much is spoken about progress and feel proud
It has been felt very comfortable at all the luxury
No one wants to look at city slums and misery

It is mad race to reach at working spot
Everybody is reserved for certain slot
In railway coach also you have space
You are rushing with so many worries on face

Life schedule is very tight
Everybody wants to be perfectly right
There is no room for slight error
Even no time to check the face in mirror

Life has become very fast
No one knows when life will end at last
Whether it will be on the road with accident
Or in the mortuary as unclaimed incidence

It is pure mechanism where human values find no place
You will be lost in crowd without any trace
No one has time to look at and offer kind words
Simple mathematic to earn and just move forward

Not an inch is spared for ground worms
So many times it has been forewarned
Yet we encroach and push others behind
We have only aim for the right place to find

Life is constantly on move and stagnated
The relations are strained alienated
No one has time to review the action
Life is just undone within fraction

We are skeptical about any thing
Life has lost its charm and got no meaning
It may go on endlessly till some solution is found
Life comes in sense and on alert with all the time around

Everything is on sale except sentiments
There is hectic activity and unstoppable movement
No one is in position to waste single second
This is the life and to be lived with same trend

A Place To Sit

Smoochers and snoggers, and resting joggers
all seem to stop at this concrete bench.
Ramblers and walkers, and street hawkers
all seem to stop at this concrete bench.

Mini’s and Roller’s, and lady strollers
all seem to stop at this concrete bench.
Old folk and young folk, and dogs with no folk
all seem to stop at this concrete bench.

Market traders and cavers, and money savers
all seem to stop at this concrete bench.
Children that play who meet everyday
all seem to stop at this concrete bench.

Students and teachers, and lay preachers
all seem to stop at this concrete bench.
Loose women and boys the ‘for sale’ toys
all seem to stop at this concrete bench.

Addicts and dealers, and police squealers
all seem to stop at this concrete bench.
Dogs out for a pee who can’t find a tree
all seem to stop at this concrete bench.

Drunks in the night who like to fight
all seem to stop at this concrete bench.
Spray painters and doodlers, and bench abusers
all seem to stop at this concrete bench.

Vandals and hooligans, and booted ruffians
all seem to stop at this concrete bench.
Demolishers and breakers, and obliterators
never stopped until they destroyed this concrete bench.

Homeward Bound

I'm sitting in the railway station. Got a ticket to my destination. mmmm
On a tour of one-night stands, my suitcase and guitar in hand.
And every stop is neatly planned for a poet and one-man band.
Homeward bound, I wish I was, Homeward bound,
Home where my thought's escaping, Home where my music's playing,
Home where my love lies waiting, Silently for me.
Every day's an endless stream, of cigarettes and magazines. mmmm
And each town looks the same to me, the movies and the factories
And every stranger's face I see reminds me that I long to be,
Homeward bound, I wish I was, Homeward bound,
Home where my thought's escaping, Home where my music's playing,
Home where my love lies waiting, Silently for me.
Tonight I'll sing my songs again, I'll play the game and pretend. mmmm
But all my words come back to me in shades of mediocrity
Like emptiness in harmony I need someone to comfort me.
Homeward bound, I wish I was, Homeward bound,
Home where my thought's escaping, Home where my music's playing,
Home where my love lies waiting, Silently for me, Silently for me.
