Inspiration

My pen is poised, what shall I write,
The mind is 'dark', it needs some light,
Some 'inspiration' would be enough
To trigger the fingers and do a rough
Transcript of thoughts which might be pleasing,
But somehow at present, I'm into squeezing
My brain, to think up a suitable start,
Why aren't I a person who's 'grey matter' is smart,
When out of the blue a sentence appears,
The brain reacts and the numbness clears,
To reveal a startling piece of Lit,
That suddenly becomes a Hit,
That would be great, but the chances are,
A million to one! Oh! Lets retire to the bar!

Author's Inspiration

My fingers do not type the words on the page; they do not draw delusions on a thin piece of white lined paper. They are not meant for the works of art to be used and unworthy for. My fingers are worthy enough to paint pictures inside your cognizance, more than painting a paintless sheet that means nothing to me. My fingers work as if every picture I paint in my mind, inspires them to write the unwritten page, to make it a master piece. But not every inspiration inside my mind, will take merely a second to create. It takes time, patience, and art to smear the writings onto a page. Author inspiration is from what comes from the heart; deep and dark, inspring and light - it's as if it was left inside its cage. No freedom, no light, no darkness, no being of a creature that the render of the paper, simply gave up on inspiring the little ones'. It's as if this mere creature was left within a white blank world. No colors to paint, no words to express. An author inspiration is formed when they see or hear other works of art, whether it's music to their ears, movies they wish to be in, life and feelings that they feel or positioned in, or other writings that they write something else about - but as an inspiration from them. An inspiration can be from anything from the outside world, from what happens inside one's life, to what creates such imagination within one's thoughts that coats the page with color and creativity. Anyone can be talented. Anyone can have an inspiration. You just have to feel and be it.

Why is it that so often, the poems you try to write,
Only come into your mind, in the middle of the night,
Suddenly, a really wonderful, sentence comes to mind,
And then you start to mould some more, and that is when you find,
That come the morning, it has gone somewhere within your brain,
And however much you try a recall, it will never come again.
But if you get up to jot it down, it's not at all a good idea,
As once you've become wide awake, your sleep is never near.

Why can't we have a file in there, to which these 'flashes' go,
And with a www.poemsinthemind.com, we could reproduce them, so
That every time we start to think, we need not have to fear,
For then, when we get a super line, it's kept for all to hear.

Mind Searching

I was drifting through the chambers
of imagination, deep in my mind,
searching desperately for inspiration,
but it was proving so hard to find.

Visions of nonsense appeared,
as a smoke screen in my head.
It seemed the brain was delaying
creative ideas from being read.

Imbalances of clouded colour
flooded the chambers of my mind.
One by one, thoughts became stifled,
visualization I couldn’t find.

For some strange unknown reason
there was disagreement in my head.
Mind and brain were in turmoil
until the problem was sorted.

Attempts by the brain to cloud my mind
this time thankfully failed.
Inspiration is now clearly flowing,
but next time, which will prevail.

Grey Is The Sky.

Grey is the sky, no wonder why
My thoughts won't fly, up soaring high.
Dull clouds hang low
And that is so depressing!
The blessing of inspiration, creation
Depleted, defeated.
But when that shade of grey
Is pushed away
By sunshine's hue
Of brilliant blue,
That warms my heart,
Gives me the start
To fly and soar once more
Will thoughts be free, and I can see
What only then is clear again:
The path to inspiration
And creation.

Mind Power

Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
So when you walk through the door
Is this the bottom word
The fortress of violence will fall
When the tide will turn
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Is there a place you belong
When there is no love
The light that shines is so strong
When you come out of the dark
Yeah
Were living in a violent world
It makes our heart just freeze
Lets melt the ice with heart and soul
To heal a world that bleeds
(to heal a world that bleeds)
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
So when you walk through the door
Is this the bottom word
The fortress of violence will fall
When the tide will turn
So when you walk through the door
You can make it too
The fortress of violence will fall
If you want it to
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power

Once Again I Write...

This pen, this paper is once again my savior.
I write to save my sanity.
I write to ease my heart.
I write to cleanse my soul.
I write to feel alive.
I write to keep my mind strong and my thoughts clear.
I write my words of sorrow, despair, pain, and love, as well as words of wisdom.
I write so that one day someone will truly know me.
This paper, this pen is once again my inspiration.
It is the inspiration to what I see.
It is the inspiration to what I hear.
It is the inspiration to what I feel.
It is the inspiration to the art I create.
It is the inspiration to what I draw.
It is the inspiration to the love for my daughter.
It is the inspiration to the love for my husband.
This pen, this paper is once again my savior.
Once again I write to say thank you my timeless friends.
Thank you for saving me time and time again.

Bad Brain

I used to be an A student
I never used to complain
I used to be a truant
But I'm still the same
Bad bad brain
Bad bad brain
I used to go to parties
I used to drink champagne
Now I'm beginning to feel the strain
Bad bad brain
I used to be in show biz
I used to have fortune and fame
I used to have pleasure and pain
I used to have a name
Bad bad brain
Now I'm on the Bowery
I can't remember my name
Bad bad brain
Bad bad brain
Bad bad brain...bad bad brain...

Like a seed

It’s impossible to force
A good piece of writing
It can only come from inspiration
It should flow from the mind
To the fingers and then
Through the keyboard
To the screen

A good piece of writing
Will come of it’s own volition
Without urging, yet with compulsion.
A certain musical phrase you’ve read
A lyrical play of words
That sticks in your mind
Can be the impetus for the lifting
Of the flood gates of inspiration

And once opened, has a compulsive
Addiction, that can be indulged freely
And yet will not be denied
Write down every sentence
or fragment thereof, any phrase
That catches your fancy
and feels good on the tongue

A good piece of writing
Has a sensual quality
That one can almost taste
As it’s written, and can be shared
Wantonly with readers
who choose to indulge

A good piece of writing
is a seed that is planted
In one’s mind, and from which
The words effortlessly grow
It can never be forced
or be pushed to the fore
It will grow from that seed
And will blossom before your eyes

It can grow freely, unfettered
From the most minute idea
But good writing, like a seed
Can never be forced to grow

What I Call It

I had a brain injury.
I have a brain injury.
I injured my brain.
There.
I said it four times.

Wrote poem once about
a moth flew round light
in circles till dead.
It
flies through my mind still,
time after time.
Afraid.
What I've lost.
Not quite the same.
Does it matter?

Don't think.

The Voice Says In My Heart

Dreaming of a life of peace,
Though I am shattered to pieces.
A damaged spirit, resulting from a defective mind.
Broken and irreparable, so I think.
But my thoughts got me here in the first place.
On my knees, looking up, I see the light.
Shining down on me from above.
It connects with the light inside.
The voices in my head silence.
My mind clears, true vision appears.
'Pick up the pieces.', the soft voice whispers from within.
'Many pieces, put together, makes a piece.'
'That is what you seek isn't it? '
'Give them to me, for the pieces are heavy'.
'What I have created, only I can fix.'
'It was broken by you in the first place.'
'Because I was not your first place.'
'I was your last. I was your end.'
'But now you have reached me, '
'Let me show you what I can do.'
'For I come with an eternal warranty and a misery back guarantee.'
Piece by piece, I was put back together.
Until I was one.
Not one with my thoughts, but one with my maker.
No longer listening to what the voices in my head say.
But to what the voice says in my heart.
As it whispers to me, I can feel it's voice.
'Peace.'

Grey, Grey Sky

Someday I will ride the great bird
Into the sky, into the grey
And will take a bright secret of mine
Into the grey, grey sky.

And the light will come, piercing my eyes
Out of the sky, out of the grey
Come blinding and searing these eyes
Out of the grey, grey sky.

And I will find comfort in this
In the wide sky, in the wide grey
In the painful dark brightness of light
Light of the grey, grey sky.

My secret will fly away home
Into the sky, into the grey
And the great bird will follow it there
Into the grey, grey sky.

And I will be riding that bird
Bird of the sky, bird of the grey
And I will come home once again
Home to the grey, grey sky.

But for now I am weighted, earthbound
One of the mud, one of the ground
And I write this sad song to sad sound
Girl of the pavement sighs.

Your Brain Will Rot

Write a poem every day
don’t let anything get in your way

No inspiration? So what the hey?
Just sit down and write a poem every day

Write about nothing
if that’s all you’ve got

Keep your mind active
If you don’t it’ll rot

They don’t have to be good
They can even be lame

But keep up the writing
Keep your hand in the game

Listen to what I have to say
Write something…anything my dears

Each and every day
in any way and without fears

for if you don't, your brain will rot
and leak out through your ears

My Different Poem

I have the feeling that I
Want to write some words that gel;
To put a hidden sentence in, to
Write them very well.

A piece of work, a
Poem all my friends can read and say:
'So this is how you make up
Different poems all the day! '

From all of my experience, all
My knowledge of our tongue, the
Other works were written, but my
Efforts are unsung.

And if my different poem is
Challenging for my brain, I know
For sure it's no-one else but
Me I'll have to blame.

My Thoughts

Thought in the eyes,
The ears.
Thought in mind,
The brain,
Thought in heart,
The soul.

Great thought is great
when it becomes great deeds.
With my thoughts within
Building my world within

Learning with thought;
Is great learning wisdom.
Learning without thought,
Is opportunity lost.

Thought for others
Thought for God
Thought for good
Thought for God’s blessing

Thoughts teach me,
Thoughts educate me,
Thoughts clarify me,
Thoughts enlighten me.

Thoughts make me wise
Thoughts make me patience
Thoughts make me trust others
Thoughts make me clam.

Thoughts before act
Is smart and wise
Act before thoughts
Is stupid and foolish

That’s my thoughts
They make thinking clear
They make belief deepen
They make confidence high.

In thoughts, my world
In my world, make my thoughts.
In thoughts, my words
In my words, make my speech

It’s my thoughts count
Counting my thoughts
To endless counting thoughts
Thinking the thoughts endlessly
My thoughts and thoughts again.

Too Much To Think About

Sister help take this pain from my heart
Help me stand up and find out whats right
Dont want to exist here in the dark
When the gates of eden offer so much light
But theres too much to think about
Too many problems in my brain
Yeah, theres too much to think about
How could I ever make up my mind
Young man lay down your guns
And hold your woman in your arms
The concretes not worth dying fo
They say theres more to this life
But theres too much to think about
Too many problems in my brain
Yeah, theres too much to think about
How could I ever make up my mind
So what am I living for
They say the truth is not hard to find
Its right here in front of my eyes
If I could just open my heart sometimes
But theres too much to think about
Too many problems in my brain
Yeah, theres too much to think about
How could I ever make up my mind
But theres too much to think about
Too many problems in my brain
Yeah, theres too much to think about
How could I ever make up my mind
Make up my mind
Make up my mind
Make up make up my mind
Make up make up my mind

Like a Freight Train Coming

I am a poet, writer and psalmist,
Thanks to the events of a wedding reception.
Those three titles have been added to my list,
And now I write like my life is almost done.

I receive inspiration from just about anything,
From memories of old and new.
Thoughts of friends and family to me do spring
To mind, and my hand has a lot of work to do.

However, there are times when I am empty,
I can't think of anything to write.
I try so hard, it almost frustrates me
When my poem mill is void, therefore adding to my plight.

But then, there I'll be, not even trying to write,
When all of a sudden, like a frieght train coming,
Like a bolt of lightning, inspiration strikes. So, right
Then and there, I grab my book, and words from me start humming.

A mile a minute, word after word appears,
My pen can barely keep up
With my heart as it bears
The words like wine filling my cup.

Soft rain...

A soft rain is falling down across my brain
And the time of thoughts it’s lightning
A piece of heaven runs out, and still I know
The tired clouds rain on tears...

I do not know whether it is spring or autumn
A meaningless season has entered in the midst
Somewhere grizzled hair nor all fallen down..
Somewhere wet grass refreshed with daw...

Time, an invented notion, ephemeral
Moves in and out without asking my brain
tousle, sit, stand up in her eyes
make as if I feel, I love, nor shout...

On this crossing time over the plane
I measure it with light, water, leaves...
And my thoughts dissolve days and months
As throughout my brain the rain falls in silent...

Grey Matter

They say youre stupid
That youre too young to vote
They say youll swallow anything
That they shove down your throat
They say you cant think
That you havent got a brain
That youre just there to listen
That youre just being trained
Chorus
Theres something inside your head
Theres something inside your head
Theres something inside your head
Theres something inside your head
They say you lost the ability to even think
That your tiny little brain
Slipped down the kitchen sink
They say that youll buy anything
That they turn your way
That youll listen to everything
That they decide to play
Chorus
Grey matter grey matter ooh . . .
Grey matter grey matter ooh . . .
Grey matter grey matter ooh . . .
Grey matter grey matter ooh . . .
Bridge
I think you like it--like it
To be told what to do--isnt that true
I think youre better--better--better off
Stone cold dead--without your head
They say youre stupid
That youre too young to vote
They say youll swallow anything
That they shove down your throat
If they say lie down, youll do it
If they say--buy it now--youll do it
If they say--turn around--youll do it
If they say--hit the ground--youll do it
If they say--bite the big weenie--youll do it
If they say--wasnt that good--youll do it
If they say--bend over baby--youll do it
If they say--take it and like it--youll do it
Chorus

Unharnessed

Oh how my mind
keeps racing to you,
no matter what I seem to do.
It stops me dead
right in my tracks.
This is how my mind
reacts- to you.

My thoughts are drifting
just like me,
aimlessly like a log
on the sea.
No destination in my sight,
just endless blue
that keeps my mind unharnessed
and racing back to you.

Grey Blue Eyes

I feel for the light
Your glory was lost that night
And no mind can't get me right
And now I'm praying that you'll find me out
Stone, stone has pulled me down
But my faith has got me bound to your grey blue eyes
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Don't forget my broken heart
You remember it from the start
You made it and it's all a part
Of your grey blue eyes
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
You're gone and I know I'm dead
I've lost my way
Can't find me in your grey blue eyes
