All Renowned

The rusted pier stands on its flaking frame,
and has withstood the pounding of the sea
for years. So long its been a devotee.
Yet distant music tells of revelry.
in times gone by, when all was fun and fame.

The theatre which once was filled with song,
with comedy and drama at its best.
Now lives no longer with it merry jest,
no cheering, no applause, all laid to rest.
Where once there was a joyful sing-along.

The clowns, the acrobats, magicians too,
would walk the boards and thrill the waiting crowd.
Shouting their jokes and yarns, feeling proud,
the audience applauding, shouting loud.
Many a Star making their first debut.

Those days have vanished now, memories die
somehow then pleasures were joyfully found.
Joys that now seem dull, did then abound,
and like the entertainers, all renowned.
with the pier have all said their goodbye.

Shouting...

i cannot sleep for this constant shouting...
the shouting of trees, the shouting of alleyways,
the shouting of rats crawling through trash.
the shouting of needles and Family Bibles,
the shouting of flags folded and given.
the shouting of machines, abandoned and morose,
the shouting of fields gone barren.
the shouting of poverty ripping color from being,
the shouting of hunger in faces silent.
the shouting of guns loaded and unloaded,
the shouting of clinics, filled without names.
the shouting of prayers wriiten in pavement,
the shouting of rivers filled with sewage.
the shouting of birth, and the shouting of death...
the shouting of love, distant and forgotten.
the shouting of god, in doubt's innumerable forms.

Hush goes the crowd

(The music plays, the stage is lit, the crowd come in and a man starts to sing)
Hush goes the crowd,
While I sing this sad love ballad,
The story of my heart,
And I continue singing,
One by one,
The leave the theatre,
And soon I’m left alone,
Singing this ballad,
While I weep before every word,
From daybreak to midnight,
From spring till to winter,
I sing this melancholy filled ballad,
Murmuring these words,
As my throat dry’s,

(The man is on his knees)
Now in a empty theatre,
This song still plays,
Even though I’m alone,
My speech does not stop,
And from a sad ballad,
This song his turned into screams,
Shattering through,
Deafening every living being,
But it isn’t even heard,
No not even listened to,
By the muse of this song,
If only she heard my voice,
If only she would come to this theatre,

(Sound of weeping, tears hit the stage floor; the light slowly fades, till there is only silence and darkness)
Then the Hong is hit,
And I awake to sing again,
The same old lyrics,
There is a new audience in the seats,
But she is not here,
She will never be,
Where she is,
Is far away,

(The music plays again and he starts to sing then hush say’s the crowd)

Those Great Entertainers Of Ghana

Those great entertainers of Ghana to their drumming they dance and sing
Music, song and dance an integral part of their culture with them 'tis a natural thing
Compared to them I feel quite ordinary as if my feet are tied to the ground
They sing, dance and drum with a passion in them talent seem to abound
They bring to this great Southern Country their culture from so far away
In these simple lines I do thank them for bringing great joy to my day
So dark and so handsome and lively their whole beings are bubbling and bright
They dance, sing and drum with a passion in the Australian warm sunlight
A long way from tropical Ghana to this sunny Southern Land
They bring their joyful culture with them this marvellous African band
This town that is not known for culture is becoming more multicultural of late
A World without cultural borders is a thing that we should celebrate
And these great entertainers of Ghana they have brought great joy to my day
And I'll retain fond memories of them what better of them can I say.

Is There Anyone Out There?

Staring at the stars at night
it makes you wonder
if this is the only planet with life
in the vastness of space.
You feel like shouting at times.
Is there anyone out there?

People see things in the night sky
that they cannot explain.
Even in the daylight
mysterious objects appear unexplained
and all the time you feel like shouting.
Is there anyone out there?

Years from now when
we might have learned to listen,
we might find someone else
is really out there listening
to us shouting.
Is there anyone out there?

It is quite possible one day
in the truth we might find
that all the time we’ve been shouting
someone else has been out there
shouting back at us too.
Is there anyone out there?

I thought our song was this..

A picture frame Hangs on a wall And I'm surprised I even noticed it at all The years have warped the frame A crack runs through the paint It’s begun to fade But the pictures still the same If you look close enough you’ll know

Sing me your song I’ll sing my song You had to go You know you’re my hero Time keeps marching on This is our song

Now I stare At an empty room But memories Give my soul a different view Of all the lives you touched You taught me so much Now angles lift you up To a place you loved so much And you’ll be welcome there
I know

Sing me your song I’ll sing my song You had to go You know you’re my hero Time keeps marching on This is our song

This is our sad goodbye (this is our sad goodbye) But it’s not a bad goodbye

Well I don’t know What I believe All I knowsoul a different view Of all the lives you touched You taught me so much Now angles lift you up To a place you loved so much And you’ll be welcome there
I know

Sing me your song I’ll sing my song You had to go You know you’re my hero Time keeps marching on This is our song

This is our sad goodbye (this is our sad goodbye) But it’s not a bad goodbye

Well I don’t know What I believe All I know Is that there more to it than me Its time for you to go To say goodbye I know I cross my T’s real slow I close my eyes If you look close enough you’ll know

Sing me your song I’ll sing my song You had to go You know you’re my hero Time keeps marching on This is our song

This is our sad goodbye (this is our sad goodbye) But it’s not a bad goodbye This is our sad goodbye (this is our sad goodbye) But it’s not a bad goodbye
This is the lyrics to Our Song By Goodnight Nurse.

I thought this could be our song, But you lied to me hurt me in everyway

why didnt you tell me you said you didnt want to loose me but you

wouldnt of. Do you think I'm that easy to get ride of? Babe I love you

but you need more trust in me. The thought of you with another girl kills

me you think its funny when you talk to me about them or I see you

I thought this could be our song, But you lied to me hurt me in everyway

Goodbye Davy Jones

Goodbye Davy Jones
Your music fills our memories
They are the soundtracks of our lives
Thank you so much for giving these.

Our high school days come back in song
The laughter, stockings, Twiggy looks-
It seems it has not been that long
When we hid your photo in our books.

Those days were filled so much laughter
Mop-head hair and bobby socks
Guitar in hand, sang 'I'm A Believer'
And with your music, did we rock!

Rest in peace, as we bid goodbye
Your songs will always have a part
In this our life, though now we cry
We love you, Davy - from the heart!

Salvation Road

Sung by everybody
Hear me brothers, hear me sisters,
Citizens and comrades hear my song.
The old lifes dead the orders changing
Its time for all of us to move along.
Got no time to live a life
With old worn-out traditions
Swallowed my pride,
Changed my ways,
And found a new religion.
There you go.
Sick and tired of living on loans,
Driving around in a car that I dont own.
Tired of looking at wealthy faces
Flying off to far out places.
The workers of the world
Shall give the profits to the people.
Class will disappear
And we will live our lives as equals.
There you go.
And well all walk along
And well all sing a song
And well all mark time as we go.
Yes, well all walk along
And well all sing a song
As we walk down salvation road.
Goodbye youth, goodbye dreams,
The good times and the friends I used to know.
Goodbye freedom, hello fear,
A brave new world has suddenly appeared.
Got to be hard,
Dont look back
And no more reminiscing.
Times are rough,
Weve got to be tough,
And concentrate on living.
There you go.
And well all join hands,
And well all march along
And well all mark time as we go.
Yes, well all walk along,
And well sing a song,
As we walk down salvation road.
Well all walk along
And well all sing a song
And well all mark time as we go.
Yes, well all walk along
And well all sing a song
As we walk down salvation road.

25, 30 years ago, that meant something, they were making some money. And they were doing all sorts of comedy, screaming at the audience, basically crowd control. And then there was the whole urban comedy scene.

The Sound Of The Crowd

Put your hand in a party wave
Pass around
Make a shroud pulling combs through a backwash frame
Find the copies in a carbon mount
Pass around
Stroke a pocket with a print of a laughing sound
Get around town
Get around town
Where the people look good
Where the music is loud
Get around town
No need to stand proud
Add your voice to the sound of the crowd
The shades from a pencil peer
Pass around
A fold in an eyelid brushed with fear
The lines on a compact guide
Pass around
A hat with alignment worn insde
Get around town
Get around town
Where the people look good
Where the music is loud
Get around town
No need to stand proud
Add your voice to the sound of the crowd
Get in line now
Get in line now
Stay in time with the rhythm and rhyme
Get around town
Get around town
Where the people look good
Where the music is loud
Get around town
No need to stand proud
Add your voice to the sound of the crowd
Get around town
Get around town
Where the people look good
Where the music is loud
Get around town
No need to stand proud
Add your voice to the sound of the crowd

Waiting For You

Waiting For You
Written by: Wilfred Mellers, Friday, August 27,2010, @ 8: 50: 43 AM

In my days of solitude for melancholy interludes so rude
Imaginings once thought everlasting are now shades of grays for happier days
Thoughts once shared have now all disappeared
Hollowed now are memories from distant countries

Wavering in my mind of happier times so kind
Solis seeking words no longer speaking
These words in the vernacular once spectacular
Saying my goodbyes as my dreams dies

Joys once bountiful to love so beautiful
Filled with anger as days grow longer
My heart beats from stress while working with less
Yet still trying my best without rest

What more can I say to you for respect long overdue
My heart won’t divest beating loudly in my chest
Seldom can I unwind for memories set in rewind
Life so unkind for that’s how it’s designed

Yellow walls now confined and the sun no longer shined
For the heart is blind and wont leave you behind
How long will it last as all hope fades fast
All roads incline from letters I no longer sign

Is it true that I still love you?
For you I’m dumbfound for my life ends when you’re not around
Days go on forever for these ties wont sever
I’m so lost without you and I don’t know what to do

These days I hate and only serve’s to frustrate
Searching for an updat so I wait
Ideas I review for hopes I try to rescue
Standing in a cue for life I renew

This line should I pursue a new?
Waiting for a breakthrough I make-do
Abused and always standing accused
It will only end and I will ascend when I’m in your arms again

Linda

Seven ships without a sail
Seven cats without a tail
Boy, its weird here
On this spooky old pier tonight
But Im not frightened 'cause I know what it is
Evrything is just the same as it was
Im in trouble because of linda
She hurt me so badly
She said shed be here
On our special pier
I lover her
Linda, the carousels playing
But that merry-go-round
Is bringing me down
'cause I remember what it meant to you
Linda, linda
I love you

Limelight

Lead vocal - gary brooker
I can see the glow of a distant sun
I can feel it inside
Maybe this day could be the one
I can hear the roar of a distant crowd
They are waiting for me
Calling my name
Shouting out loud
Holding on isnt always easy
I aint gonna change my mind
Limelight you were all I ever wanted
Since it all began
Limelight shining on me
Telling the world who I am
Limelight dont let me slip right through your fingers
Theres a long way to fall
After the years of waiting
Im gonna show them all
I can see the world in a different light
Now its easy to say
Where I went wrong
What I did right
I can hear the beat of a different drum
Take it all in my stride
Hold my head high
Second to none
Holding on wasnt always easy
Nothing can change my mind
Limelight you were all I ever wanted since it all began
Limelight shining on me telling the world who I am
Limelight dont let me slip right through your fingers
Theres a long way to fall
After the years of waiting Im gonna show them all
Maybe the roles not easy, maybe the prize is small
After the years of waiting Im gonna show them all

A Fishing Poem

A Fishing Poem

He was a gentle old man
Who reluctantly spoke
And he’d sit on the pier
And he’d fish and he’d smoke
His eyes and the lines on his face told a tale
While his leathery hands drew the bait from a pale

This man once a lad on this very wharf stood
And he leapt and he shouted as loud as he could
For each tiddler that wriggled on the end of his hook
With excitement and pride he would offer a look
To everyone passing “hey see what I caught”
And he’d show them his fish and he’d ask what they thought

But a lifetime had passed for that excited, fair boy
Many years filled with heartache, discovery and joy
Countless friends that have gone, fortunes both made and lost
And yes lessons were learned but each came at a cost

Now he sits and he lands every fish with such ease
And in silence he packs up each days end and leaves
Many times I’ve fished by him not so close to offend
And I’ve learned from his actions and regard him a friend
Though we speak very little and trade only a nod
And we focus our stare at the end of a rod

One day I’ll replace him in his spot on this pier
At my side another young face will appear
To ask all of the questions, then it will, be my turn
To quietly say “son, just watch and you’ll learn”

Days Of Our Lives

How many times have you walked through my door
How many times have you heard my song before
How many lines until the end of time
These are the days of our lives
How many times did you hear mother say
You would do fine if you didn't sleep all day
Oh mother dear, I'll get a job next year
These are the days of our lives
How many times did you walk down the street
Avoiding cracks that were thrown at your feet
These rainy days were sent to make us pay
But these are the days of our lives
How many roads must a woman walk down
How many walls will surround the town
All that I am could get us out of here
These are the days of our lives
Did you believe in the stories at night
Weren't you afraid when they turned out the light
Oh, such a gas, I'm sorry it won't last
These are the days of our lives
These are the days that some of us regret
These are the days we learn to forget
These are the days that turn us out this way
These are the days of our lives
Of our lives

Singer/Songwriter (Leddra Chapman)

(This poem was inspired by the singer/songwriter, Leddra Chapman.)

This singer songwriter, of only nineteen years of age,
Is met by warm applause, as she takes to the stage.
She acknowledges her fans and bids them a cheery ‘hello.’
This evening, she’s accompanied by keyboard and cello.

As she stands on stage, tuning her guitar,
She still can’t believe that she has come this far.
She soon launches into her first song.
Her fans join in and joyously sing along.

With her audience, she happily interacts.
Fans, into every venue, she manages to pack.
She is able to light up an entire room,
When, all around us is doom and gloom.

Her outfit gives her a slightly hippie appearance,
Which, with her long blonde hair, gives her endearance.
Her manner is easy and light.
Her smile always beams so bright.

She often plays at small, intimate venues,
But quite a few festivals, she’s played at to.
She’s still studying at music school,
But, already, her music is considered really cool.

Her first album has already been released.
Soon, there’ll be a second. Another musical feast!
Her songs have often been played on Radio Two,
And she’s also been on TV, singing and doing interviews.

This young lady who’s still up and coming,
Stands with her guitar, her fingers gently strumming.
At the end of her set, she and her band take their bows.
The applause from the audience is extremely loud.

After finishing one of her wonderful shows,
She’s happy to sign autographs and pose for photos.
She’s one singer, who will never grow too big for her boots,
As she stays down to earth and remembers her humble roots.

My Vengence Song

All alone with nothing to lose
vengence is sweeter, only if i choose,
A lifetime of revenge to all that done me wrong
getting hit or pushed around, this is my vengece song.

I'll sing it loud, i'll sing it proud for all of them to hear,
My vengence song carries me on and says there's nothing to fear.

Vengence is sweeter than ever before, as i press on i am wanting much more,
My vengence song is still going on, after years of revenge im not feeling so strong.

The years are still passing, my time is near done,
it's time now for my song to be sung.

But was it all worth it all those years of hate,
im now living behind bars i guess now it's too late.

My vengence song has now been sung so goodbye to the hate and malisious ways of the person i had become.

Hard Times

(stephen foster)
Let us pause in lifes pleasures and count its many tears
While we all sup sorrow with the poor.
Theres a song that will linger forever in our ears,
Oh, hard times, come again no more
tis the song, the sigh of the weary.
Hard times, hard times, come again no more.
Many days you have lingered all around my door.
Oh, hard times, come again no more.
While we seek mirth and beauty and music light and gay.
There are frail forms fainting at the door
Though their voices are silent, their pleading looks will say,
Oh, hard times, come again no more.
tis the song, the sigh of the weary.
Hard times, hard times, come again no more.
Many days you have lingered all around my door.
Oh, hard times, come again no more.
Theres a pale drooping maiden who foils her life away
With a worn out heart, whose better days are oer.
Though her voice it would be merry, tis sighing all the day,
Oh, hard times, come again no more.
tis the song, the sigh of the weary.
Hard times, hard times, come again no more.
Many days you have lingered all around my door.
Oh, hard times, come again no more.

Song from My Heart

Song in my heart,
Speak to me,
Sing me your sweet melody.

The days been hard,
Evenings long,
Sing me tonight a joyous song.

So many times
When all hope was gone,
I listened to your cry, a painful mourn-

But now all is serene,
The night is still-
Hum to me softly, if you will.

Oh song from my heart,
Music within me,
Sing me a song filled with melody.

Dry Your Eyes

Words and music by neil diamond and j.r. robertson
Dry your eyes and take your song out, its a newborn afternoon.
And if you cant recall the singer you can still recall the tune.
Dry your eyes and play it slowly like youre marching off to war;
Sing it like you know hed want it, like we sang it once before.
And from the center of the circle to the midst of the waiting crowd,
If it ever be forgotten sing it long and sing it loud and come dry your eyes.
And he taught us more about giving than we ever cared to know,
But we came to find the secret and we never let it go.
And it was more than being holy and it was less than being free,
And if you cant recall the reason can you hear the people sing.
Right through the lightning and the thunder to the dark side of the moon,
To that distant falling angel that descended much too soon
And come dry your eyes.
Come dry your eyes.
