Voting In Egypt
they're voting in Egypt
this morning....
they had all the oppression
they could take...
and they rose up
at the risk of their lives,
and took their country back!
will we have to follow
in their footsteps?
how many will have to die
before we can restore our dignity?
when you have nothing left
to live for....
then the price of your life isnt much!
freedom calls, will we answer?

The Basic Rights (Of All People)
can we not learn
from our brothers and sisters
in Egypt....
how hard it is to take
freedom back once they take hold?
can we not see the value,
the right to vote and be counted,
the right to speak and be heard,
even at the cost of lives?
can we not see
that this battle is worldwide?
to restore freedom and dignity
to the human race!
the basic rights of all people
to work, to eat, and have shelter....
to breathe, and be human,
are at stake!

We Are Not Cattle!
they destroyed the Native Americans,
killed, raped, converted them
to slavery with a sword....
and built freedom on this premise...
on the backs of African-American slaves,
and immigrants that fled oppression....
now the actions of the past
are demanding their price!
and the battle again
will be fierce and harsh!
freedom isnt built on oppression!
they'll be no more herding,
we are not cattle!

There is a certain nobility and dignity in combat soldiers and medical aid men with dirt in their ears. They are rough and their language gets coarse because they live a life stripped of convention and niceties. Their nobility and dignity come from the way they live unselfishly and risk their lives to help each other.

The Song of Freedom - A Prayer Reflection on Mee Kamocha
When did we leave Egypt
And when did Egypt leave us?
When were the chains of slavery broken
And when did we finally truly feel free?
Freedom came in steps
It was part of the journey
From Egypt to Canaan
Our people took
And we can still take.
Freedom is courage and hope and clear vision
Freedom is walking to places we can’t see
Freedom in knowing that we can find food in the desert
Freedom is feeling safe though our houses are booths.
Freedom is choosing good rules to live by
And freedom is singing our very own song.
So with Moses and Miriam and all those who went with them
With all those before us who brought us to today
We still sing these words, our first words of freedom
'Freedom is having no sovereign but God.”

Footsteps
As I follow my dear Savior, He guides my path and my behavior,
By His Spirit God makes my life, a shadow of The Savior, Christ.
This, as my footsteps follow Him; Christ, who died for all my sin,
For Christ leads me to my Calvary, to live my life for men to see.
As Christ who paid all sins price, guides me as a living sacrifice.
Living in the power of His Name, with God’s Gospel to proclaim.
His footsteps get me to a place, that He fills me with His Grace,
So that I can be Christ’s light, as God’s testimony in men’s sight.
The Lord above says follow me, upon a new pathway to Eternity,
For me, new footsteps had begun, as I chose to follow The Son.
My steps took me from my night, into my Blessed Savior’s Light,
From my world of darkened sin, to a holy walk, modeled by Him.
His footsteps never waver friend, but guide us safely to the end,
Leading all believers, day by day, safely down life’s narrow way,
Veering not to the left or right, but straight ahead in God’s Light,
The Light of the Word of God, upon our path on this earthly sod.
God has put us on an eternal path, far from God’s coming Wrath,
Upon a path prepared by Him, who took that wrath for all our sin.
By Christ becoming a sacrifice, believers gain entry into Paradise,
Following the steps of Jesus Christ, we will enter into Eternal Life.
Bright Sunny Day
If you wake up in the morning light
Something doesn't seem
or know is right
Lay back and let your feeling show
Come on and let the people know
Oh, that's the price that you pay
Oh, that's the price that you pay.
Just ?? money
Your baby ??
??
Now come on boys,??
Oh, that's the price that you pay
Oh, that's the price that you pay.
Oh, that's the price that you pay
Oh, that's the price that you pay.
Bad news is just an excuse
Get down and
let yourself keep loose
Go on and live for tomorrow
So much spent today in sorrow
Oh, that's the price that you pay
Oh, that's the price that you pay.

Say It Isnt True
In the still of the night
Lying in the darkness
I listen to my heart
Say it isnt true
In the dark and the quiet
The movements of my love
And the breathing of our children
Say it isnt true
In the streets and the buildings
The people in their lives
And the jobs they do for a living
Say it isnt true
And when you think of all the people
In the cities of the world
Who could vanish in a moment
Say it isnt true
Say it isnt true
That there always has been and always will be war
Say it isnt true
And apart from all the fine things that men have struggled for
Say it isnt true
There always has been and always will be war
Say it isnt true
Im alive in a city
In a country of the world
And I want to go on living
I want to see my life unfold
You know its hard to go on looking
At the stories of our day
And the dangers were all facing
Growing worse in every way
And you would think with all of the genius
And the brilliance of these times
We might find a higher purpose
And a better use of mind
Say it isnt true
That there always has been and always will be war
Say it isnt true
And apart from all the fine things that man has struggled for
Say it isnt true
There always has been and always will be war
Say it isnt true
Say it...
Say it isnt...

What Price
What price peace n' freedom?
How much will we endure?
To keep from losing forever
what others suffered for.
Ask first the loved ones
of warriors who went away.
The price they paid as well.
Fearing death's visit day by day.
Consider then those brave ones.
Who without question stepped forward.
Defied and defeated evil's challenge.
Peace n' freedom their only reward.
What price peace n' freedom?
Does the yield equal the demand?
Are we willing to pay the fare.
To keep oppression from our land?
Let us remember well
when these ideals we abuse.
If we are not prepared to pay.
These treasures we shall lose.

The Poor Give To The Wrong Type Power
The poor so sad to say do not see far
They vote for one who drives expensive car
And one they don't see after voting day
From where they live he lives long miles away.
The poor don't ever seem to understand
That they vote for one who for them little care
To one greedy individual they give power
And when they need him he is never there.
Who is this person the poor voted for
He lives in a big house leads the high life
And you won't see him in a second hand shop
When he is buying a present for his wife.
The poor to the wrong type always give power
And they make the worst choices on voting day
They ought to vote for one of their own kind
And for mistakes made there is a price to pay.
The poor give to the wrong type of person power
To greedy individual they give all the say
On voting day the wrong choices they make
And what little power they have they give away.

This Rose. After the Sufi.
This rose - red, scented, rich, without price –
is it speaking to me?
I cannot hear what it says. And yet…
is it watching me?
it does not blink. And yet…
is it urging me to action?
it gives no sign. And yet…
this rose – so gloriously – is…
so does it know all this?
is it beyond all this?
for while I watch it
and wait for an answer
I know myself more.
perhaps the rose
is not the answer
but the question
and I the answer
and the answerer

Say It Isnt So
[say it]
[say it isnt so]
[say it]
[say it isnt so]
Say it isnt so painful to tell me that youre dissatisfied.
Last time I asked you I really got a lame excuse.
I know that you lied.
Now wicked things can happen...you see em goin down in war.
But when you play in a quiet way that bites it even more.
[say it]
Tell me what you want yeah
Ill do it baby I promise right now.
[say it]
Who propped you up when you were stopped low motivation had you on the ground.
I know your first reaction you slide away hide away goodbye.
But if theres a doubt maybe I can give out a thousand reasons why.
You have to say it isnt so...
[it isnt so].
I say it isnt so
[it isnt so]
I say it isnt so
[it isnt so].
I say it isnt so
[it isnt so]
[say it]
We like to be the strangers at the party, two rebels in a shell.
[say it]
You like to move with the best of them you know we move so well.
Dont need someone to lean on. I know that theres an open door.
But if Im faced with being replaced I want you even more so baby say it isnt so...
[it isnt so].
I say it isnt so
[it isnt so].
I say it isnt so
[it isnt so]
I say it isnt so
[it isnt so]
[say it]
[say it isnt so]
[say it]
[say it isnt so]
Why you gonna go do you hafta say you wanna go ooh ooh baby say it isnt...
[say it isnt]
Say say say it isnt
[say it isnt] so
[so say it isnt]
Why do you have to say it isnt.
[say it isnt]
So
[say it isnt]
So
[so say it isnt]
I know its so hard for you...
[say it isnt]
So hard
[say it isnt]
Dont say baby.
[so say it isnt]
There must be some other way.
Dont have to.
[say it isnt]
Some other way.
[so say it isnt]
Aah
You dont have to say.
[say it isnt]
Oh dont you say
[so say it isnt]
Oh you know I want to make you...

Humanity Always Rises From Slavery
freedom is a choice
some have no choice
some embrace freedom
embrace freedom aspired
to with life risk abandonment
life given on cusp freedom
threshold mind enlightenment
we embrace our true birthright
born separating mind into heart
mind soul demands free spirit
history records tyrant oppression
history records slave rebellion
history teaches freedom liberation

The We In I, The I In We!
thermal meltdown, final countdown,
democracy defines itself!
our own soldiers, we grow bolder,
chased by the ghosts of hell!
1st amendment,6th commandment,
freedom exacts a price.
national boundaries, personal boundaries,
mice become men, men become mice! .....
all men equal, all men free..
all men want their dignity.
freedom of choice, freedom to be....
the we in i, the i in we!
faceless jobless, hopeless homeless,
living hard on the streets.
selling pills, shotgun thrills,
gotta be quick on your feet.
hospitals turn away, old men dont pray,
got nothing left to lose.
gunshots, speed off, tag number, all's lost,
somebody pays the dues....
all men equal, all men free....
all men want their dignity.
freedom of choice, freedom to be...
the we in i, the i in we!

Love Is The Price
RAP 1:
BABY'S IN THE PARLOUR
WAITING FOR THE RAIN
BEATING LIKE A HAMMER
WASHING OUT HER PAIN
CLEARING LIKE THE ONE
SEVEN YEARS AGO
WHEN HER FIRST BIG LOVE
MELTED LIKE SNOW
BACK THEN SHE DOUBET
IF SHE WOULD EVER FIND A MAN
WHO COULD LOVE HER THAT WAY
THE SAME WAY AGAIN
AND JUST WHEN SHE THOUGHT
SHE'S LIVING IN VAIN
THE MAN OF HER DREAMS
CAME LIKE THE RAIN
REFRAIN:
WHEN LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
AND JUST WHEN YOU THINK
EVERYTHING IS LOST
LOVE WILL BE YOUR PRICE
AND I KNOW I WOULD NOT CHANGE A THING
YES I KNOW I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING
RAP 2:
THEY SPOKE ABOUT HER DREAMS
THEY SPOKE ABOUT LOVE
THEY SPOKE ABOUT THE THINGS SHE WAS SO AFRAID OF
HE HAD THE KEY-WORD
FOR EVERYTHING SHE FELT
SO IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG
TILL HE GOT HER NAILED
PIN ONE'S HOPE ON SOMEONE ELSES LIFE
AND ALL YOUR DREAMS
WILL HURT YOU LIKE A KNIFE
SHE SOON GOT LOST
WHEN LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
REFRAIN:
WHEN LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
AND JUST WHEN YOU THINK
EVERYTHING IS LOST
LOVE WILL BE YOUR PRIZE
AND I KNOW I WOULD NOT CHANGE A THING
YES I KNOW I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING
RAP 3:
SHE DIDN'T TRUST THAT VERY FIRST MAN
TO COME INTO HER LIFE TRYING TO UNDERSTAND
WHAT NOBODY EVER COULD BEFORE
HE ONLY MADE HER SEE
THERE IS SOMETHING MORE
TO LEARN ABOUT FREEDOM
TO LEARN ABOUT LOVE
TO HANDLE ALL THE THINGS SHE WAS SO AFRAID OF
TO ALWAYS FOLLOW WHAT SHE REALLY FELT INSIDE
EVERYTHING ELSE WAS A ROLLERCOASTER RIDE

The Many Live Through The Sacrifices Of The Few
The many live through the sacrifices of the few-
The old continue because the young have died for them-
The soldiers of who gave their lives in Israel's wars,
The soldiers of Freedom who risk their lives still,
Enable their people to live.

Deep Level Concern
deep level concern;
our own national parks
used as collateral
on loans from China!
water rights to the Great Lakes,
and other bodies of water here...
sold to China!
our jobs, Joe blue collar working
families.... sold to China!
our oil profiteer wars,
financed by China!
sleeping with the country
with the worst human rights record,
dancing with the devil!
and now, our own police forces
committing acts of violence
and oppression against Americans!
against American people protesting,
standing up for freedom and equality!
standing against the profiteers!
reacting the same way,
and with the same types of oppression,
as China!
our rights,
...our freedom,
......our dignity.
even our rights to work and survive....
sold to....
.....and even worse,
...........sold by!

I Hear A Call
(tony arata)
I hear a call
Now will answer
Forsake my all
To serve another
Though darkness falls
Stay a believer
I hear a call
Now will answer
I see a light now will I follow
Fill up this life
That grows more hollow
Make joy reside
Where there lives sorrow
I see a light
Now will follow
I hear a call
From out of nowhere
And from anywhere I go
I hear a call
Now will answer
I feel a touch
Now will I hold on
Be there with love
For those with no one
With a kindness such
It lives though Im gone
I feel a touch
Now will I hold on
I hear a call
From out of nowhere
And from everywhere I go
I see a light
Now will I follow
I feel a touch
Now will I follow
I hear a call
Now will I answer

Dream Tomorrow
I shall think it a dream tomorrow
I wont believe you returned
That once again I saw and touched you
And youre so unconserned, unconcerned
You must have known that your cruel silence
Would be so hard to bear
And yet you let me wait, you let me wait and
Wonder
Neither here nor there, here nor there
I came back with just one intention
For one last look, one last taste of you
Revenge on those who still despise me
And take my own life too
But theres a long and twisted journey
Between this callous thought and deed
And youre a sweeter way to give me
All the things I need
Two ambitions coincidind
Will only happen now and then
Never hope or dream tomorrow
Will restore your faith again
Never hope or dream tomorrow
Will restore your faith again
How I hope its no dream tomorrow
But Im scared the light will fade
And today will be a vague recollection
Just a fools escapade, escapade
I never cared much about the future
Yesterday was always there
So when you give me hope, hope or a promise
It just isnt fair, isnt fair
Any plan, any calculation
Any plot or device at all
Runs into anothers dream
Runs into a wall
No matter what premeditation
In our three score years and ten
There are only fractured moments
Wed want to live again
Two ambitions coinciding
Will only happen now and then
Never hope or dream tomorrow
Will restore your faith again
Never hope or dream tomorrow
Will restore you faith again

Next Great War
the next great war
this country will face
will be a war within
it's own boundaries...
the stench of poverty and
injustice has become too foul...
the old, the homeless, the
forgotten ones have been pushed
too far, left with too little...
and the sound of righteous anger
rips through the air...
now the largest minority
is the common man and woman...
the faceless ones bought and sold,
and left to die on black and white tv's...
and the time has come
when there's no more taking
to be done.... unless, it's the
taking back, of our lives,
our country, and our freedom!
