This Old Spicket
this old spicket
always drips...
having stood the test
of time and weather,
heat and cold....
surrounded by weeds,
occasionally covered
by a lone spider's web...
rusted and tarnished.....
just waiting....
for someone to
turn the knob!

Buried...
a half a fifth of brandy
sits quietly on the shelf...
a tired old hat hanging
on a forgotten peg.
the flower garden bare,
the windowpane sighs.
the old rusted spicket,
covered by the spider's web.
empty boxes in the closet,
filled with nothing that remains.
wood stacked against the porch,
even the old dog knows.
letters falling from the mailbox,
the ink wet with rain.
my hand buried by the wellhouse,
my heart buried neath the gravel!

Thermostat
When the hands that operate the motor lose control of the lever
When the mind of its own in the wheel puts two and two together
When the indicator says youre out of oil should you continue driving anyway?
Theres a thermostat that regulates the temperature
That might not be reliable
That should be disconnected
Turn it up, turn it down
Turn it up when the cold brings you down
When the heat bothers you turn it down
Turn it up, turn it down
As I was just saying
As I was just saying
As I was just telling you a minute ago
I was just talking and someone interrupted
Or was it a loud explosion?
Or is the thermostat engulfed in flames
Or is it just me?
Turn it up, turn it down
Turn it up when the cold brings you down
When the heat bothers you turn it down
Turn it up, turn it down
As I was just saying
As I was just saying
As I was just saying
Turn it up, turn it down
Turn it up when the cold brings you down
When the heat bothers you turn it down
Turn it up, turn it down
Turn it up, turn it down
Turn it up when the cold brings you down
When the heat bothers you turn it down
Turn it up, turn it down

The time helps
A frame that stood the test of time
Stands as a monument.
A thing that stood the test of time
Stands as an antique.
A writing that stood the test of time
Stands as a classic
A name that stood the test of time
Stands as a great.
There might be numerous
More valuable than them,
As casualties of accidents.

1. Two Red Candles Burning Through Night
chinese wedding
two red candles burn
though the night
wax sizzles,
drips, drips
with our red hot
passion for each other
drips, drips
fluidly down the bar
the whole night
drips, drips, with
each pause of
our desire
each hug of our
affirmation for
each other
drips, drips
with our thirst
for each other
drips, drips
and clings to
the bar, warm
as our bosoms
drips, drips
solidifying
the night into our
assurance
for each other
drips drips till
the morning
turning the night
into an ecstatic
tour de force,
a union crystallising in
a mass of bliss
resting quiet on
the base of two
exhaust candles

The Lady Of The House....
travel has become one form of negligence.
in the house the words are waiting
they become grass
turning into weeds, they grow thorns on their stalks
warning you of a revenge
when you come back the path is barred
you have to cut weeds to enter the door
the door cannot embrace you
it hints you with a door knob to welcome you back
the computers suffer a breakdown
and the fan has become a throttle less the air
you have so many things to tell the room
but the blankets are still covering their ears
your lady who had been waiting impatiently
removes her dress
and you see how wounded are her breasts.

Propped Against The Wall
beneath the thunderous clap
of coming storm,
shadows scurry from limb to limb.
sunlight weeps through pregnant clouds,
and the spider builds his web.
with the feathered taste of sparrow's wings,
in the rhythm of marching ants.
logs cut and split, stacked against the house,
the spicket drips, and no one cares.
poverty tugs at the walls,
while voices tense with hunger's beat,
are lost in empty rooms.
children run between the cars,
with dirty faces, without shoes.
dogs bark from rib cages exposed,
as water boils on the stove.
the smell of time and elderly feet,
fans turn in paint peeled windows.
the old man tunes his guitar,
perched on the stoop like an owl.
with fingers gnarled he plays the blues,
his lips groan with pages burnt.
as love and whiskey intertwine,
and small children stare in awe.
the revolver waits beside the Bible,
and the picture yellowed with time.
while angels ride their demonic steeds,
with swords drawn and fiery eyes.
the court brought to order,
with the gavel's brassy thud.
as life stands before itself,
both executioner and savior.
small moments stolen by random kindnesses,
burn like candles in the darkened gloom.
and forever then is nothing more,
than fingers, chords, and pick.
when eternity tastes like whiskey's lips,
and curls in cigarette smoke.
who am i to suggest
this wisdom known by ants and snails.
that the voice of god is but the bark,
that the owl hears and understands.
and the clap of distant thunder,
perhaps not as far as it seems.
the anarchy of naked poverty,
in the tears that fall like rain.
and still the spicket drips in silent prayer,
the axe propped against the wall!

Traffic Jam: The Trap Of Traffic Light
It's not only test your luck, but also test your patience
It's not only test your guts, but also test your instinct
It's not only test your sanity, but also test your obedience to law
It's not only test your ethics, but also test your fidelity
It's not only test your sight, but also test your reflex
It's not only test your estimation of time, but also test your street knowledge
It's not only test your ego, but also test your kindness
It's not only test your control, but also test your awareness
It's not only test your attitude, but also test your responsibility
It's not only test your priority, but also test your humanity

Spiderman
Spider man, spider man
Does whatever a spider can
Spins a web any size
Catches thieves just like flies
Look out!
There comes the spider man
Is he strong?
Listen, bud
Hes got radioactive blood
Can he swing from a thread?
Take a look overhead
Hey, there!
There goes the spider man
In the chill of the night
At the scene of a crime
Like a streak of light
He arrives just in time
Spider man, spider man
Friendly neighborhood spider man
Wealth and fame
Hes ignorant
Action is his reward
Look out!
Here comes the spider man
To him, lifes a big bang up
Whenever theres a hang up
Youll find the spider man.

The Spider And The Ant
I curiously observed an ant as it meandered,
ever closer to the spider's web.
In the corner of the window sat the spider,
a strand of web beneath its leg.
A waiting game was being played by the spider,
as the ant went this way and then the other.
How could it miss the web's support strands.
The spider bided its time and didn't bother.
The ant finally came across a strand and hesitated,
it tested its safety and then stepped back.
Surprisingly it climbed up to the labyrinth's centre,
the spider's sensors couldn't miss that.
It ran up the web and began to encase its prisoner,
but the ant fought hard against the thread.
Seconds later the spider returned to its corner
satisfied that its prey was almost dead.

You See My Smile?
Your wishes are mine to fulfill?
And your happiness is based on my reactions?
And your dreams are in my eyes?
Well...
See that door?
With that knob?
Turn that knob on that door.
And believe you are on the other side of it!
I was prepared to have a nice date.
It has been awhile.
However...
You see my smile?
I am determined to keep it,
Right where it is.
You or anyone else will not take it away!
Not after it took some time to find my face!
And out of my place,
You can begin taking your pace!
Slow if you wish...
But do it!

Shivery
This cold cold weather, bids me not
to energetic spree
I stand and shiver, wondering how
To warm that cold cold me
If only I could make a start
It would not be bad it seems.
But somehow I just linger on
And do it, in my dreams.
My ideas are brilliant
They are plain to see
But ho, this cold cold weather
Does waste my time for me.

Silet
When I behold how black, immortal ink
Drips from my deathless pen - ah, well-away!
Why should we stop at all for what I think?
There is enough in what I chance to say.
It is enough that we once came together;
What is the use of setting it to rime?
When it is autumn do we get spring weather,
Or gather may of harsh northwindish time?
It is enough that we once came together;
What if the wind have turned against the rain?
It is enough that we once came together;
Time has seen this, and will not turn again;
And who are we, who know that last intent,
To plague to-morrow with a testament!

Comes the Snow Storm
Heat still clings to the night air
as the dog days of summer roll on
the party in full swing
the snow storm now just minutes away
Sent the weather man for an updat the revelers did
waiting for his forcast
wanting the whitest of snow
All the party goers turn there heads
as the weather man returns
and with him
Comes the snow storm

Lone Founts
Though fast youth's glorious fable flies,
View not the world with worldling's eyes;
Nor turn with weather of the time.
Foreclose the coming of surprise:
Stand where Posterity shall stand;
Stand where the Ancients stood before,
And, dipping in lone founts thy hand,
Drink of the never-varying lore:
Wise once, and wise thence evermore.

I Will Be Grateful For This Day
I will be grateful for this day that God gave me
That is full of sunshine during this winter day that is cold at the same Time
But I wished that God would take the cold back with him and leave me with the warm weather
But maybe it will be too hot when he brings the warm weather
So I will have to live with the cold weather for now

The Simplest Of Things...
there is a rare beauty
in the simplest of things...
the door knob tarnished,
the book with the worn cover.
the hallelujah shout of the snail,
rain water standing in an old tire.
the lampshade covered with dust,
the iron sitting unattended.
the child's toy left on the floor,
the hand that always somehow fits.
the old woman's heavy breathing,
the coffee cup stained half empty.
the cry of young lovers from a distant window.
the dog's low growl at something unseen.
the tattered remnants of the robin's nest,
the broken eggshell clinging to grass.
the old hymn sung by the man working his garden...
the swing of the axe, the stacking of wood.
the spider clinging to the outhouse wall,
potatoes laid out in the cellar for winter.
the grave solitary three days after the funeral.
the cat cradled on the step while it rains.
the laughter of a love long in journey.
the cup of coffee shared with the transient stranger.
the prayer of the child, and the room gone dark....
words spoken from the heart with hands and feet.

Sonnet XII....
Give in to the heat
Or simply
Give in to me.....
I have the same damn seasonal weather.....
low cold low heat
or high cold and freezing heat
All are the same
state
.....
cause....i am plasma... a mix of the universe consciousness and a percentage of organic minerals left over of a start dust.
But,
you.....in contrast,
are.....a simple
chemistry.....
a simple nature,
a simple world,
a simple metaphor.

Waiting For The Rain
Im waiting for the rain
Im waiting for you
Im waiting for the rain
To clean my soul
Im waiting for the rain
Nothings gonna be better
Without you
The day you left me
The day you came
Ill never forget you
Feel you in my pain
The time stood still
The time was flying
I wonder why
Im not dying
Im waiting for the sun
Im waiting for a new day
Im waiting for the night
To close my eyes
Im waiting for the dark
Oh its gonna be harder
Without you
The way we danced
Ill always miss
Ill never forget
The way we kissed
The time stood still
The time was flying
I wonder why
Im not dying
Na na na na na
Na na na na na

Winter's Cold
As the Weather turns colder
the landscape changes colorfully
beautiful shades of greens to lovely fall colors
to the cold of gray and whites
leaves tumble from the branches above
the temperature dropping so fast
send chills down our spines
time to bundle up for a cold winter season
Snow and cold will be upon us, sooner than we want
each winter brings a new tale
either freezing temperatures on heavy snows, sometimes both
snow brings skiers, sledders, skaters, ice fishermen to life
snow forts to snowmen everywhere
the beautiful white landscape comes to life
the sun's rays reflecting off the crystal snow
like glitter tossed around
so breathe taking to see and to enjoy
bundled up inside drinking hot chocolate
waiting for summer to come
beautiful winter turn your cold off and send us our summer sooner.
I miss the summer heat and beautiful outdoors
old man winter does bring some joy,
but for most it brings cold and snow
time for stories around the fireplace with Mom and Dad
hot cocoa and homemade cookies
stay warm for winter will come and go

Cold Cold Change
Cold cold change, we were so excited
But you came and went so soon
Cold cold change, we were not invited
We smiled all the while we were taken in
Cold cold change, bringing in the winter
Freezing up the water, closing up the mind
One more danger, gonna have to deal with
One last moment fading all the time
But no lasting change, well we were turned around
We jumped in the air to see over the wall
No master plan, its a bad design
Significant time in spite of us all
Cold cold change, we were so excited
Waiting on the outside, waiting to begin
Left us all angry and bewildered
Laughing at the way we were taken in
You better lock the door, turn it off (the light)
Well leave the nights alone, better keep me hoping
That the change is over, the ice is gone
And when the weathers warmer you can hear me shouting yeah
(hirst/moginie)
