Sonnet: Such Blaming is Futile
Why blame poor Death when it does its duty?
Why blame the land for becoming desert?
Why blame Nature for unleashing fury?
Why blame dame Luck for being so inert?
Why blame the Sun for scorching summer’s heat?
Why blame the winter for its freezing cold?
Why blame the Wind for turning land less neat?
Why blame women for asking diamonds, gold?
Why blame the Sky for not bringing the Rain?
Why blame the Air for becoming so foul?
Why blame the nerves for sensation of pain?
Why blame the devils for your sinful soul?
Why blame the Stars for good or bad life brings?
Why blame your God for bad turn of some things?

Sonnet: Why Blame?
Why blame the eagle for its swoop on mice?
Why blame the tiger for hunting its prey?
Why blame the drug-peddler for playing dice?
Why blame the donkey when it can but bray?
Why blame the wind that makes the branches sway?
Why blame the snake for its poison-fangs?
Why blame the sun for a hot summer’s day?
Why blame the police for the thieving gangs?
Why blame the night for being dark and cold?
Why blame the devils when they will tempt man?
Why blame our fate when we are getting old?
Why blame the Maker for how Man began?
Why blame the circumstances for our sins?
Why blame the tongue, whenever our words mince?

I Blame You
Ten miles from nowhere
Theres a story thats true
About a fine girl
And a boy just like you
They fell so deeply
But then fell apart
Now they say the same words
Of what used to be
What used to be
I blame you (I blame you)
I blame you (I blame you)
I blame you (I blame you)
He drops his car keys
And crawls on the ground
Finds her old haircomb
Shed wear into town
Cant bear to keep it
Or throw it away
Gets back down on his kness
Put it back where it lay
Back where it lay
I blame you (I blame you)
I blame you (I blame you)
I blame you (I blame you)
Notes
There is a different song on dial-a-song with the same tune as this. it is titled free birds rebirth, and goes:
Listen dear people
To a story so sad
About a poor boy
Who never went bad
He got some chain mail
But he broke the chain
Now he must sing free bird
Again and again
Again and again
Again and again
Free bird
Free bird

0004 Rilke to a Young Poet 1
There is only one single way. Go into yourself.
Search for the reason that bids you write;
find out whether it is spreading out its roots
in the deepest places of your heart,
acknowledge to yourself whether you would have to die
if it were denied to you to write.
This above all - ask yourself
in the stillest hour of your night:
MUST I write?
Delve into yourself for a deep answer.
And if this is 'Yes! I must! '
then build your life according to this necessity;
your life, even within its most indifferent and slightest hour
must be a sign of this urge
and a testimony to it.
Then draw near to Nature.
Then try, like some first human being,
to say what you see and experience and love and lose.
Do not write love-poems;
avoid at first those forms that are too facile and commonplace:
they are the most difficult, for
it takes a great, fully matured power
to give something of your own
where good and even excellent traditions
come to mind in quantity.
Therefore save yourself from these general themes
and seek those which your own everyday life offers you;
describe your sorrows and desires, passing thoughts and
the belief in some sort of beauty -
describe all these with loving, quiet, humble sincerity,
and use, to express yourself,
the things in your environment,
the images from your dreams,
and the objects of your memory.
If your daily life seems poor, do not blame it;
blame yourself, tell yourself that
you are not poet enough to call forth its riches;
for to the creator there is no poverty
and no poor indifferent place.
Go into yourself and test the deeps
in which your life takes rise;
at its source you will find the answer to the question,
whether you must create.

Bang And Blame
If you could see yourself now, baby
Its not my fault
You used to be so in control
Youre going to roll right over this one
Just roll me over, let me go
Youre laying blame
Take this as no, no, no, no, no
You bang, bang, bang, bang, bang
Then blame, blame, blame
You bang, bang, bang, bang, bang
Its not my thing so let it go
If you could see yourself now, baby
The tables have turned
The whole world hinges on your swings
Your secret life of indiscreet discretions
Id turn the screw and leave the screen
Dont point your finger
You know thats not my thing
You came to bang, bang, bang, bang, bang
Then blame, blame, blame
You came to bang, bang, bang, bang, bang
Its not my thing so let it go now
Youve got a little worry
I know it all too well
Ive got your number
But so does every kiss and tell
Who dares to cross your threshold
Or happens on you way
Stop laying blame
You know thats not my thing
You came to bang, bang, bang, bang, bang
Then blame, blame, blame
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang
Its not my thing so let it go
You bang, bang, bang, bang, bang
Then blame, blame, blame
Its not my thing so let it go
You kiss on me, tug one me
Rub on me, jump on me
You bang on me, beat on me
Hit on me, let go on me
You let go on me

A Toast to the Men
Here's to the men! Since Adam's time
They've always been the same;
Whenever anything goes wrong,
The woman is to blame.
From early morn to late at night,
The men fault-finders are;
They blame us if they oversleep,
Or if they miss a car.
They blame us if, beneath the bed,
Their collar buttons roll;
They blame us if the fire is out
Or if there is no coal.
They blame us if they cut themselves
While shaving, and they swear
That we're to blame if they decide
To go upon a tear.
Here's to the men, the perfect men!
Who never are at fault;
They blame us if they chance to get
The pepper for the salt.
They blame us if their business fails,
Or back a losing horse;
And when it rains on holidays
The fault is ours, of course.
They blame us when they fall in love,
And when they married get;
Likewise they blame us when they're sick,
And when they fall in debt.
For everything that crisscross goes
They say we are to blame;
But, after all, here's to the men,
We love them just the same!

Put The Blame On Me
(words & music by twomey - wise - blagman)
If they say we were doin wrong
If they say we were out too long
Well, you can say
My arms were just too strong
Put the blame, put the blame on me
Felt so good when I held you tight
Couldnt stop when we kissed goodnight
So if they tell us we dont heave the right
Put the blame, put the blame on me
What I feel is deep inside
This is real and I wont hide
Go ahead, use my name
Ill be proud to take the blame
You just did what I made you do
You love me and I love you
So if the way they talk can bother you
Put the blame, put the blame on me

Incarceration Cause And Effect
bad choices usually
have bad outcomes
cause and event
crime and time
everyone is innocent in prison
is the perpetual not guilty plea
blame it on de man who taught
blame it on de man who fought
blame it on de fool who wanted to be cool
blame it on de location of a bar room stole
blame it on de hard drug pushed or alcohol
blame it on de police sting or sell out mole
prison incarceration in punitive prison
result of poor self choice made decision
locked inside can result in fatal incision
from this education few great have arisen

The Biggest One
The water running down that pipe
Looks like a snake to me
By docs sugar bowl my coffee gets cold
Because I dont want to see that
Ive got no one to blame but my fat self
Ive got no one to blame but my fat self
Im the biggest one
Im the biggest one
Ive got no one to blame but my fat self
Should have changed that stupid lock
Should have thrown away the key
No, no, not i, I will survive
Right down here on my knees cause
Ive got no one to blame but my fat self
Ive got no one to blame but my fat self
Im the biggest one
Im the biggest one
Ive got no one to blame but my fat self

Sonnet: Just Correct Yourself
Don’t blame the door for creakiness when old;
Don’t blame the oven for burnt cakes it bakes;
Don’t blame the seller of the things bought/sold;
Don’t blame the cot for squeaky noise, it makes.
Don’t blame the stars or dates or time of year;
Don’t blame the pen for writing bad verses;
Don’t blame the pedestrian, stone-deaf by ear;
Don’t blame the voters for your reverses.
For, failures could be pre-destined by God,
Or they could happen on account of us;
Our human reasoning can’t explain things odd;
Why blame the cyclist hit by our ‘spare-bus’.
Set-backs will come in all the things we do;
But they should never serve to perturb you.

Call My Name
Ive seen a new sensation
I heard you call in pain
But running round in circles
Wont make it right again
The telephone keeps ringing
Your head is in the sand
The future is unfolding
But its not what you had planned
No matter what you do
Theres no escape for you
You say we go too far
You say Ill take my car
So it always ends the same
Theres no one else to blame
But Id die
If you would call my name
Caught between two evils
You should have stayed at home
To wish upon and walk upon
A planet of your own
No matter what you do
Theres no escape for you
You say we go too far
You say Ill take my car
So it always ends the same
Theres no one else to blame
But Id die
If you would call my name
Yes Id die
If you would call my name
No matter what you do
Theres no escape for you
You say we go too far
You say Ill take my car
So it always ends the same
Theres no one else to blame
But Id die
If you would call my name
Oh yes Id die
If you would call my name

Don't Blame Me
(dorothy fields, jimmy mchugh)
Don't blame me
For falling in love with you.
I'm under your spell
But how can i help it?
Don't blame me.
Can't you see
When you do the things you do
If i can't conceal
The thrill that i'm feeling,
Don't blame me.
I can't help it
If that doggone moon above
Makes me need
Someone like you to love.
Blame your kiss
As sweet as a kiss can be,
And blame all your charms
That melt in my arms,
But don't blame me.
(interlude)
Blame your kiss
As sweet as a kiss can be,
And blame all your charms
That melt in my arms,
But don't blame me.
(interlude)
Blame all your charms
That melt in my arms,
But don't blame me.

Blame It On The Sun
(stevie wonder/syreeta wright)
Where has my love gone?
How can I go on?
It seems, dear
Love has gone away
Where is my spirit?
Im nowhere near it
Oh yes, my love has gone astray
But Ill blame it on the sun
The sun that didnt shine
Ill blame it on the wind and the trees
Ill blame it on the time
That never was enough
Ill blame it on the tide and the sea
But my heart blames it on me
Who poured the love out?
What made this bitter doubt?
Is peace not here for me to see?
Wish I could tell you what I am feeling
But words wont come for me to speak
Oh, Ill blame it on the sun
That didnt fill the sky
Ill blame it on the birds and the trees
Ill blame it on the day
That ended much too soon
Ill blame it on the nights
That could not be
But my heart blames it on me

Show Tune #4 I
You're the one
my heart dreams on
and I swear
that nightly bare
I want to see you
but if you say forget it, no way, hey,
I wouldn't blame you if you do!
If you said
'check your head
I think some parts are missing
I couldn't live
on what you give:
of huggin' and kissing'.
I wouldn't blame you if you do!
Then I might say, dear
riches' star
never shone my way, dear
and though you might be right, love
I can get new ones
when the war is over
So, I wouldn't blame you if you do!
So now you know
this old show
will soon be closing
and that fame
made my name
an anagram for nothing
I....

Inheritance
Don't blame me,
for staying alone.
Don't blame me,
for abandoning you,
in the Garden.
Don't blame me,
for crucifying you,
with my words and deeds.
Don't blame me,
for the sacrifices,
that you have done for me.
As I resemble the Creator,
who created me on his own image,
I have inherited His characters.
