Knock Upon My Door...

as i sat quietly thinking,
i was startled by a knock
upon my door..
i got up and crossed the floor,
and opened the door.
a disheveled man stood there,
without speaking...
i felt uneasy...
there was something,
i just couldnt place.
his hair was long and grey,
his eyes were like fires.
his hands were beaten,
but there was a strength there,
and a sense of purpose.

i finally stammered,
'who are you? '...
he smiled, 'i am you! '
i let him in!

Knock On Any Door

Knock on any door
Look through any window
Baby knock on any door
Knock on any door
Is there any place you want to go
Baby who you lookin for
Yeah, yeah, baby now you know
Its a cold world like they told you so
Knock on any door
Save your tears for some occasion
Keep your heartache to yourself
Knock on any door
Its a simple operation
Just trade your memory for your health
Knock on any door
Look through any window
Walk on
Knock on any door
Look through any window
Walk on
Its insane girl, you cant run away
Its the same world it was yesterday
Knock on any door
Look through any window
Walk on
Knock on any door
Look through any window
Walk on
Now, now, now how do you survive
With a pain so real, in a world so jive
Knock on any door
Look through any window
Peek through any shade
Knock on any door
Look through any window
Walk on

Call It Evil (demo)

I've been around watching little late shows
Drink a lot of beer
Like playing cards with my friends
Call it evil
Call it pain
It goes knock, knock, knock-knock-knock-knock, on my door
It goes knock, knock, knock-knock-knock-knock, on my door
That rock and rock, yeah, call it evil
That rock and rock, yeah, call it evil
Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, on my door, Yeah!
Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, on my door
Going to get as my babe.
It goes knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, on my door
Playing sopwith in the back of my head
What you trying to be crazy?
People look at me, they look at me, but you're dead
Call it evil
Call it pain
It goes knock, knock, knock-knock-knock-knock, on my door
It goes knock, knock, knock-knock-knock-knock, come on
Knock-knock-knock-knock, one more
Knock-knock-knock-knock
That rock and rock, yeah, call it evil
That rock and rock, yeah, call it evil
Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, on my door
Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, on my door

Knockin On Every Door

Hey now honey
You got to face the floor
You headed for the heart
But you couldnt find the door, could you?
Could you?
Well, Im standing in the sun
But Im living in the rain
I got to get a-whirlin like a human hurricane over you
Over you
Now youre looking like a fox on the run
And youre faster than a shot from a gun
Im pointing at you, oh you
Talking bout you, hey you
I thought we had love in store
You keep on knockin on every door
Babe, Ive seen it all before
You keep on knockin on every door
Aint no lovin you ignore
You keep on knockin on every door
Keep keep knock knockin on every door
You keep on knockin on every door
Hey now honey
Time is all youve spent
You moved into the bed
But you couldnt pay the rent, could you?
Could you?
In the twinkle of an eye
You electrify
I got to get a-shootin like a rocket in the sky, bye bye
Goodbye
Now youre burning like youre hot on the scene
Dont you love to steal a part of my dream?
Im looking at you, oh you
Talking bout you, yea you
I thought we had love in store
You keep on knockin on every door
Babe, Ive seen it all before
You keep on knockin on every door
Aint no lovin you ignore
You keep on knockin on every door
Keep keep knock knockin on every door
You keep on knockin on every door
I thought we used to have love in store
You keep knock knockin on every door
Hey babe, dont run around here no more
You keep on knockin on every door
Aint no sugar you ignore
You keep on knockin on every door
Keep keep knock knockin on every door
You keep on knockin on every door
Youd better learn your lesson now...

Delilah

I saw the light on the night that I passed by her window
I saw the flickering shadows of love on her blind
She was my woman
As she deceived me I watched and went out of my mind
My, my, my, delilah
Why, why, why, delilah
I could see that girl was no good for me
But I was lost like a slave that no man could free
At break of day when that man drove away, I was waiting
I cross the street to her house and she opened the door
She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
My, my, my delilah
Why, why, why delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me delilah I just couldnt take any more
[insert trumpet solo here]
She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
My, my, my, delilah
Why, why, why, delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me delilah I just couldnt take any more
Forgive me delilah I just couldnt take any more

A glimpse

a glimpse
the half opened door
some would say
a half closed door
it all depends on the
state of mind you are in
well half closed for pessismist
and half opened for optimist
half opened or half closed door
so long as it is open
and not close
a good exercise for the mind
of a story teller, novelist, a film maker
a glimpse at the half closed door
the mind is thrown open
like the kick you would give
a half opened door
so that you and pet cat could
glide through easily
the stories that start coming out
from a glimpse at the half opened door
agatha's murdered corpse lying behind
a stalker, a ghost in the corridor of the mind
from the glimpse of the half closed door
a million possibilities, ideas pouring forth
half closed door, half opened door
whichever way you may say
it is an opened door
a million stories, ideas, possibilities
knock at the door of my mind
a glimpse of the half closed, half opened door
my half closed half opened eyes
open themselves to my ever curious mind
boundless as the universe

A Glimpse
A GLIMPSE, through an interstice caught,
Of a crowd of workmen and drivers in a bar-room, around the stove,
late of a winter night-And I unremark'd seated in a corner;
Of a youth who loves me, and whom I love, silently approaching, and
seating himself near, that he may hold me by the hand;
A long while, amid the noises of coming and going-of drinking and
oath and smutty jest,
There we two, content, happy in being together, speaking little,
perhaps not a word.

God, love and autumn

While I was driving to my office
I was thinking of you
While I was listening to Elton John in my car
I was thinking of you
While I was driving to gas station
I was thinking of you
While I was filling her up
I was thinking of you
While I was parking my car in our parking place
I was thinking of you
While I was taking the lift
To the third floor
I was thinking of you
While I was knocking the door knocker
I was thinking of making love with you
As the door opened
We were one!

I will be knocking on the door
Knock knock knock
Knocking at deaths door
Begging to be let in.

I'm near to deaths door
An overdose
And slit wrists
Along besides me.

Knock knock
Please let me in
deaths door
Please open

Please let me in
I hate my life
I cant cope
I'm desperate
plase let me in

Deaths door has opened
Now I've left it all behind
I'm in deaths world
Im gone
Im free

The Lockless Door

It went many years,
But at last came a knock,
And I thought of the door
With no lock to lock.

I blew out the light,
I tip-toed the floor,
And raised both hands
In prayer to the door.

But the knock came again
My window was wide;
I climbed on the sill
And descended outside.

Back over the sill
I bade a "Come in"
To whoever the knock
At the door may have been.

So at a knock
I emptied my cage
To hide in the world
And alter with age.

A Girl From Nowhere

The electric blue of a lightning sky
lit up the country lane momentarily.
She walked alone
with her scarf blowing in the wind
and her clothes soaked from the light rain.
But who was she and where was she?
She did not know.
Her eyes scanned everything
looking for something she recognised.
There was nothing there and she kept walking.

A crack of thunder startled her.
She jumped and looked around.
Lights of a car lit up the hedgerows
as it raced towards her.
She moved to one side
to allow it to pass.
The driver braked abruptly
along side of her.
The passenger window
wound itself down.
The driver smiled
out from the interior of the car.

“Are you all right miss? ”
The voice was low and warm.
She felt immediately
that she could trust it.
She looked in with large innocent eyes.
“Can you help me?
I cannot remember who I am or where I am.
The passenger door swung open.
“I think you had better get in.”

Cautiously she moved towards the car.
She climbed onto the passenger seat
and closed the door.
She glanced across
at her Good Samaritan.
“Thank you.” She whispered
as the car purred and moved forwards.
“There is a Police Station
about five miles ahead.
I will take you there;
they should be able to help you.”

She looked at him
as the car raced through
the quickly darkening lane.
“Haven’t you got a handbag? ”
He asked glancing across at her.
“Handbag? What is that? ”
“Where you keep your personal possessions in.”
She looked at him with a questioning look;
it was as if he was talking a strange language.
“My name is Jim Middleton.”
He said in his low warm voice.

She looked at him again
as the hedge rows disappeared
and streetlights and buildings
began to appear.
Scattered at first,
then more and more
as they moved into the town.
He stopped outside the Police Station.
He smiled. “We are here.”
Switching off the engine, he opened the door
and walked around the car.
He opened the door
to escort her into the station.
He stood mouth opened.
She was not there.

The Urn....

He finally pulled in the drive.
Another endless night at work.
Exhausted, he turned off the car,
and stumbled for the back door.
The neighborhood cat rubbed
against his legs as he fumbled
for the key.
As he opened the door, he noticed
that the light over the sink was on.
Shaking his head, he shrugged, and set
down his lunchbox.
He reached in the cupboard for the
bottle and a glass. He poured a small
shot, and hesitated for a moment.
He could hear the night just outside
the window. Something inside of
him let down. He kicked back the shot,
and headed for the bathroom.
A quick shower, and he found his way
to the bedroom. Lying naked on the
bed, he lit a smoke, trying not to think.
He could hear the ticking of the clock in
the hallway. He put out the cigarette, and
dozed.

He awakened to the scent of her perfume.
He heard her voice, whispering, 'be still'.
He felt the presence of her body in the bed.
Her long hair draped across his face. He
felt her on top of him, her heat and her desire.
He raised his face to kiss her....
And then she was gone! Startled, he groped
at the bed, clutching air. He sat up and flipped
on the lamp.
The room was empty. A few crumpled dirty
clothes in the floor. The book he'd been reading
on the nightstand. But no sign of her!
His hands shaking, he lit a smoke, and blinked.
He looked around the room again.
Every nook, every cranny, every crack in the paint.
Finally, his eyes fixed on her dresser.
A picture of her on their wedding day. A half empty
bottle of her favorite perfume. And the urn.... the
urn, with her wedding ring lying on the base.
He flipped off the lamp, and wept.

Time to Lose.

She was there
in the church
arranging the flowers

at the altar end
where her mother said
she'd be when you knock

at the parsonage door
some moments back
and you entered

through the old oak door
into the silence
and smell of age and flowers

seeing her
in her summer dress
unaware you stood there

her hands touching
flowers in vases
moving them into place

an intenseness
on her face
you moved slowly

down the aisle
not wanting to disturb
or cause alarm

then Jane turned
and smiled and said
I've nearly done

and tapped the flowers
in the final place
Where shall we go?

You moved closer
to where she stood
and said

To Heaven
if we're good
they say

she shook her head
and said
I meant where

about outside?
Wherever you like
you replied

studying her hands
as she wiped them
on her summer dress

how the fingers lay
how some god
brought them

to such beauty
and her eyes
and hair

and her
just standing there
enough

you mused inside
not out
to bring one to a faith

of some creative god
and she said
Why do you stare?

What holds you
rooted there?
Let's go climb

the Downs and look across
the vast expanse
of fields and trees

and birds in air
just you and me
and this love

just being there
Oh how romantic a mood
holds you today

she said and put her arm
through yours
and moved you on

and down the aisle
between the pews
unaware as youth

too often does
of hours passing
and having time to lose.

Dont Go Knockin On My Door

(rami/jake/a.kronlund/m.martin)
Dont go knock on my door
Dont go knock on my door
Time is up
No more cheat n lie
No more tears to dry
You and i, were like so bye-bye
Finally
I am over you
Totally unblue
And I can hear myself saying
I am better off without you
Stronger than ever and i
Im tellin you now
Chorus
Dont go knockin on my door
Gotta stay away for sure
You say you miss me like crazy now
But I aint buyin that
You better get off my back
Dont go knockin on my door
I can see
Its no mystery
Its so clear to me
What we had is all history
Its ok
I can sleep at night
It will be alright
I can hear myself saying
I am better off without you
Stronger than ever and i
Im tellin you now
Chorus
Dont go knock on my door
Dont go knock on my door
Dont go knock on my door
Do what you want
As long as you dont come back
Dont go knockin on my door
Gotta stay away for sure
And now I aint buyin that
You better get off my back

In The End

I Saw Red
Warrant
Oo it must be magic
How inside your eyes I see my destiny Every time we kiss
I feel you breathe your love to deep inside of me
And if the moon and stars should fall
They'd be east to replace
I would lift you up to heaven
And you would take their place
Then I saw red
When I opened up the door
I saw red
Heart just spilled on to the floor
And I didn't need to see his face
I saw yours
I saw red then I closed the door
I don't think I'm gonna love you anymore
Everyday I wake up
I thank God that you are
Still a part of me
Opened up the door to which
So many people never find the way
Snd if the sun
Should ever fail to send its light
We will burn a thousand candles
And make everything alright
Then I saw red
Wnen I opened up the door
I saw red
Heart just spilled onto the floor
And I didn't need to see his face
I saw yours
I saw red then I closed the door
I don't think I'm gonna love you anymore
I've been hurt
And I've been blind
I'm not sure that I'll be fine
I never thought it would
End this way
Oo it must be magic

Knock, knock
Who’s there?

It’s me the breeze
Want to caress your cheeks.

Knock, knock
Who’s there?

It’s me the full moon, roll up the blinds
Want to flood you with my silver light.

Knock, knock
Who’s there?

It’s me the pigeon, want you to know
I understand what its like to feel low.

Knock, knock
I just listen to tick tick of the clock.

Swallow some bile.
Don’t answer for a while.

It was very very still.
Got up to take a pill.

Felt I was not alone.
Stopped to moan.

He stood with his kind eyes.
I smiled, Lord a real good try…

(Oh you) know that I love you no other will do, Please tell me darlin' why can't you be true, But now you are gone it's over and so, Never again will I knock on your door. Someday you'll be so lonely and blue, Then you will know just how much I love you, But now you are gone it's over and so, Never again will I knock on your door.
