I Want To Believe!

i want to believe
that change is possible.
i want to believe
that tomorrow will come.
i want to believe
that equality will be realized.
i want to believe
that parity will become fact.
i want to believe
that diversity will be celebrated.
i want to believe
that knowledge will replace ignorance.
i want to believe
that compassion will defeat apathy.
i want to believe
that humanity will become human!

do you?

Against Amendment One!

equality...
should never be defined
by personal moral values.
equal means equal.
each person's values are different.
we are not qualified to judge!

every person...
has the right to love,
and to be loved.
has the right to happiness.
we cannot define love by fear,
cannot define justice by ignorance.

if we were all meant to be just alike,
we would be clones.
we are not!
the beauty of life
is in our diversity.

whether you are gay, straight,
or bi...(i hate labels) ,
you are human...
i wish for you love,
peace, respect, and happiness.

i vote against amendment one,
and for humanity!

Wind Of The Human Spirit... (Part Four)

i stood on the brink of tomorrow,
wading through the ashes of yesterday's failures.
i choked on the oil in the oceans,
and the smoke that filled the air.
i wiped the tears from my face,
and the blood from my own hands....
and felt the weight of humanity's sins,
the deep mark upon my brow...
and when each had finished their task,
mine had just begun.

'who am I? ' you cry,
'how dare you speak! '
i am nobody, i am everybody,
i am not me, but i am!
i am not you,
but i couldnt be else!
i am not more, yet i am not less...
and this task is shared by all!

for i am the wind of the human spirit,
where i come from nobody knows.
my destination does not hold me,
for i am because i blow.
i blow in the name of freedom,
justice, equality, and dignity....
my language is compassion,
my name is every name!

Roll Away The Stone!

do we roll away the stone
again this morning?
if so, what do we find?
the body of Jesus?
our own body?
the bodies of those
we have killed out of greed?
of those we've let die
out of apathy?
or empty grave clothes?
the choice is ours!
resurrection is the choice
that the human heart awaits!
the gospel is compassion,
and compassion,
that which makes us human!

I Am For

i am for...
justice, equality,
equal distribution of goods.
the right to work,
to speak out, to stand up...
i am for truth at all costs,
for freedom of religion...
i am for peace right now,
right here, and always.
i am for education for all,
for growing our own food.
for breaking the curse of oil...
i am for gay rights, and their right to marry.
i am for diversity, and unity,
and yes you can have both.

i am against...
war, bigotry, greed,
and anything that divides.
i am against the use of force,
the use of fear and manipulation.
i am against narrow minded thinking...
i am against the banning of books.
i am against progress
at the cost of nature.
i am against the wealthy
ruling the poor.
i am against anyone
who wants me to follow,
to change or adapt to
his or her standards.
i am against judgements
made by self righteous people...
i am against ignorance, most of all!

i am for...
people being people,
humans being human.
i am for you!

The Knowledge

Insight to what's going on
Information keeps us strong
What you don't know can hurt you bad
Take it from me you'll be walkin around sad
Cryin for a better day
Until you educate for a better way
So if you wanna be in control
Ya gotta get yourself in the know

Get the knowledge
That you really want
The knowledge
Do you really want
It's the knowledge
What you really want
The knowledge
That you really want

Spreading vise don't believe the hype
You don't find the knowledge in a pipe
Too many lives go up in smoke
It's nice to laugh but don't be the joke
To get over get better
Try to be the possessor
Of the one thing we all need in life
To succeed take my advice

Get the knowledge
That you really want
The knowledge
Do you really want
It's the knowledge
What you really want
The knowledge
That you really want

Prejudice No!
Ignorance No!
Bigotry No!
Illiteracy No!

Listen it's up to everyone
If we're gonna change the way the world is run
The way to start is to rid the children of
Prejudice and ignorance
We've gotta teach our kids to read and write
That's the only way to win this fight for life
Education is the goal so
If you wanna be in the know
Get the knowledge
It's the one thing we all need in life

Flock together to defeat Evil

Swarming you from out and in
Rising in all around
Come to advance
To defeat the evil
Possessed in the land

The earth including you
Goes into a pit of darkness
In your own land
While painting black oil
On the justice and humanity

Even in impossibility
The Sky brings thunder
The Sea brings storms
The wind brings cyclones
To be convinced the nature

Realized nature around you
Looking at everything
Till comes the time
If you are not a human being

You can see if you are wise and clam
Then you will be said by nature
Only you can change
Within yourself and around you
If you are ready

If you are ready
Put a side your egoism
Evil covets to creep into that
And you are decayed unknown

So you subject
Remove your old clothes and masks
And flock together to struggle
And to drive away the evil
For the freedom
With humanity and dignity

Surgery

I can change I can cut it open
Look at me the way you did before
I can change
diagnose the symptom
buy the anecdote but not the cure

Hold me under
cut away this empty
Hold me under
change the way I feel about you

I can change
I'll correct the defect
repair the injury called you and me
I can change
I'll surrender to it
I can suffer with the best of them

Hold me under
cut away this empty
Hold me under
change the way I feel about you

I can't change
I'll replace the decay
make you second guess your everyday
I can't change
I'll survey the damage
Kill the narcissist with his reflection
until tomorrow

Hold me under
cut away this empty
Hold me under
change the way I feel about you

Hold me under
cut away this empty
Hold me under
change the way I feel about you

until tomorrow

What Color? (Hope)

what color
was the dust
from which the stars

were made?
what color is the hunger
written on the child's face?

what color is justice,
forgiveness, desire, truth?
what color is the wind....

the rain, gravity,
and knowledge?
what color is equality?

what color is freedom?
what color is eternity?
what color is redemption?

what color is God?
what color were the nails
that hung Jesus on the cross?

what color was enlightenment
falling on the Buddha as he sat
'neath that tree?

what color is prejudice, hatred,
fear, greed, apathy.....
what color your skin?

nay, what color is your blood?
and what color are the eyes
of humanity staring through the darkness?

and what color is hope?

Apathy 83

(ian hunter)
Standin on the edge of vesuvius - my mouth is runnin dry
Drunk on wine & wisdom - giving it all away
Old enough to hate tomorrow - young enough not to know where to run
Oh there aint no rockn roll no more - just the music of the young
Apathy for the devil apathy for the devil
Apathy for the devil ,n apathy for the son.
The moon shines brightly on some summer lawn -
And envy caught like a leaf
Comes floating down upon this frozen desert sand -
Spitting bullets through the night
The siren wails on the ambulance - compassion touches my head n it bleeds
There aint no rockn roll no more just the sickly sound of greed.
And its apathy for the devil and its apathy for the devil
And its apathy for the devil n apathy for the creed
No more gardens for the gardenless - no more - havens for the havenless
No more helpers for the helplessness - no more - somethings for a less
For the law is now the lawless
n the flaw is now the flawless
n the crime is now accepted
n the criminal respected
n now evil gets elected
n now sinful get selected
Heed a president proven rotten now officially forgotten
Was it your general sheridan who once said the only good, good man is a dead good man.
It was not me babe
I just said keep your head n your bread well down under them floorboards
n you - you look like you gone with the wind
Running naked through the streets
Wired out - tired out - transcendental mental - only laughing in your sleep
Nostalgia is starting to focus too late, imagination is starting to itch
There aint no rockn roll no more just the music of the rich
n its apathy for the devil n its apathy for the devil
n its apathy for the devil apathys at fever pitch

Here today&Gone tomorrow

As i look at my surrounding's,
I realized i could be here today and gone tomorrow,
My mom's said to live my life and enjoy it,
Because i could be here today and gone tomorrow,
I always thought that life was a fairytale & i would always be a princess,
But i didn't realize i could be here today & gone tomorrow,
People always say the world would end in 2012,
But the world could be here today & gone tomorrow,
As i continued to walk down the streets & look at my surrounding's,
I realized that i'm no longer on earth,
I realized this pathway instantly when the gates appeared,
I realized that i was there yesterday but gone today,
No more suffering
No more pain
I'm gone today

After A Conversation With A Bigot (ed/repost)

'When you cut me, I will surely bleed
blood-red; and just the same, indeed
as every person of every race,
of every creed and hue of face;
and though the rivers of blood may flow
it's not because (we surely know)
of any policy or legislation
or measure against discrimination;
no; for sure, on the contrary
Tiberian foaming, it seems to me
results from the evil of human intent;
ignorance - mental negligence.
Law and policy cannot curb
idiotic voices that wish to be heard;
and sticks and stones may indeed break bones
but remember the impact of words alone.
I have no time for the prejudiced mind,
with vacant heart, unseeing eyes blind;
so if you wish to converse with me
I expect to hear humanity.
Yes, cut me and I will surely bleed.
I hope for the day when all might heed
equality of humans; and, further, that
one need not seek to 'prove' that fact.'

Justice, Equality, Compassion, Human!

i spit hammers and nails,
can taste bullets and swords.
my eyes are the bodies
of the innocent that lay dying.
my fingers touch the ribs
of small children starving.
my tongue's made of coal dust,
oil, and death by profit!
my ears hear the cry of freedom
from the cells of the oppressor.
my heart sleeps neath the bridge
with the homeless family at night.
my fists smash the lie and the liar both,
my arms carry the weight
of the working class's lives.
covered with the stink of poverty,
i shed the clothes of pretensions,
apathy, and human greed.
and my desire grows hard
when i see a better day...
my back bears the stripes
of man's mistakes and failures...
i cry justice, i am equality,
i breathe compassion, i am human!

Diversity

Diversity is sought...
And thought could exist!
But those wishing to practice it...
Seek to administer it to adhere
From positions that are clear,
That they are in control.
And 'that' is understood by those...
Still kept at a distance,
With thoughts about it to themselves.
With eyes open and lips closed!
Making sure diversity,
Is something approved...
To smooth tensions.
But not of a blended equality mentioned.

A Sparrow's Thoughts... (Number Two)

forgiveness comes easy for those
who have dared to look in the mirror!
it is most difficult to judge the
reflection of ourselves!
hate is merely love poisoned by fear...
and fear, the bloody sword of ignorance!
if we spent less time preaching about
superficial morality, and more time
acting out of compassion, being aware
both of our own humanity, and the
humanity of all others....
we would come much closer to being godly!

The Wall

We built a black wall in our white space
To create two different worlds, where you and I
Could live separately
It was an internal wall of human misery
Almost invisible from the outside.
Then, we sought the knowledge.
We were husband and wife,
But we separately sought the same knowledge.
We had been seeking the knowledge until
We couldn't feel any thrill of love.
We had been seeking the knowledge in spite of love,
Until we realized that
We could not live without love any longer.
Knowledge would have no sense
If we could really and permanently die
In nothingness.
Therefore, we started looking for love again.
We realized we had to break down
The wall we had built some time ago.
Meanwhile, the wall has become white and the spaces
Have become black.
We tried to break it down,
But the wall remained white.
We realized it belonged only to God.
Therefore, we asked God to demolish it
And God created a window in the wall
For us to be able to see each other.
We looked at each other
Being so surprised and terrified,
Because we couldn't recognize ourselves.
At least, we understood that our relationship was
Almost impossible.
In that moment, we've asked God to make a miracle
And God gave us the tears.
