I Am The Door!
i have no need of religious balm,
no need of doctrines or spurious cures.
i do not close my eyes when i sleep,
i do not falter, i do not follow.
the path i walk is mine alone,
the light i seek bears my name.
the burden i carry is mine by choice,
the cost of living is this life.
yet the freedom i long for must be shared,
the part feeds the whole, the hand the foot!
for there can be no justice if not for all,
and redemption the bridge that all must cross.
who am i if not you, you if not i?
the hunger i feel wears your face!
eternity comes and goes in moments shared,
if you be the heart, then i am the door!

The Things I've Lost
in the things i've lost i found god....
not in the things themselves,
but in the empty spaces left behind!
in moments given and forgotten,
in laughter that never took a name.
in the sound of breathing that is peaceful sleep,
in the tiny light of a single flame.
in random snowflakes that need not redemption,
in callouses that become the hand.
in stories shared with small children,
in the sky seen through a prison window.
in the dog curled against my feet,
in a meal shared with strangers.
in the beautiful eyes of the dying child,
in the touch of the old woman's hand.
in the sound of wings saying farewell to autumn,
in the crunch of frost covered grass.
in the anger of my enemy,
when we both sat down to talk.
in the stories old boots could tell,
and the dreams that eyes reveal.
in the hand in mine and the feet beside,
in the 'thank you' whispered over the grave.
in the silent conversation of old friends,
in the rose that bloomed out of season.
in the sacredness that stinks,
of human endeavor and holy compassion!

Pledge Of Freedom
if the cost of freedom
be my hand or my foot...
cut them off, take them,
let it be so.
if to see equality,
you must take my eyes,
pluck them out,
they are yours!
if the price of compassion
be the scars on my back,
then so be it.
if my body be the bridge
you must cross to find the truth,
then i lay it down!
if my heart in your hands
be the cost of responsibility,
then i give it!
for i cannot go there...
without you!

Snail Crossing.... (Part Six)
the life well lived is composed
of small things, small happenings,
and small touches...
for it is in these most simple and
real of moments that we evolve...
a word spoken in kindness....
a meal shared, an hour or two
of listening...
a choice made from selfless compassion...
these are the moments of eternity,
the trace of our living that remains...
and the steps to the temple,
of understanding, and freedom.

Burden To Carry
Every man has a burden to carry
And some seem to carry it very well
While others complain, about the burden and strain
And as their fall from grace to all they must tell.
They will blame all others for the life they live
And then brag and lie for pity and shame
They will tell themselves to halt, that it was never their fault
So they figure their loss will also be their gain.
Every man has a burden to carry
And some need to carry that burden alone
As they don't seek help, from no one but themselves
And only GOD will feel their pain or hear them moan.
The burden they have is their right of passage
As they walk through life to become a man
Every step that they take, another worry they will forsake
And truly that a vigilante only he should understand.
Every man has a burden to carry
And so many carry it with a vigor and pride
As they head down the road, with their own life's load
While keeping a happiness and love and joy deep inside.
They live the life that was presented to them
And never once do they complain or quit
They take life in it's stride, they throw their chest forward in pride
And what they lost or will loose, they will never miss.
Every man has a burden to carry
And to see it just look upon a mans face
He will either be wearing a smile, like holding a child
Or else you'll see pain and sorrow and even disgrace.
Just walk in his footsteps at least one time
Take his journey as he run's or walks or even tarries
Then you will feel the weight, that man can't escape
As every man has a burden, that he must carry.

His Will, Not Mine
Friend, when I face a mountain high, I look to The Lord up in the sky,
God changes mountains into hills, as God changes things as He wills.
Friend, even if my path seems long, I know that I am where I belong,
For God has planned my path for me, it’s one that ends up in Eternity.
His will for me in this present life, is to follow the steps of Jesus Christ.
And our Lord’s earthly path my friend, had indeed a very tragic end,
“Not my will” He said that day, as His Father’s will was the only way.
This is God’s will for us indeed, as we must follow The Savior’s lead.
As I am crucified with Christ you see, I don’t live, but He lives in me.
Friend, now my life I live for God, this in each and every day I trod.
When I pass through waters friend, I remember Christ’s tragic end,
When the waters get too deep, it was on that cross He died for me.
And when they become a flood, it was for me that He spilt His Blood.
It’s the power from His sacrifice, that sustains me in the waters of life,
So that in my life men may see, that it’s The Lord Jesus living in me.
For my friend God’s will in my life, is to be for Him a living sacrifice.
Christ gives me the power to fulfill, not mine, but God’s Eternal Will.
So when I face a river or a hill, I know that it’s God’s Sovereign Will.
Soon Christ will come for His own, to take us to our Heavenly Home,
Safe at last with The Lord we’ll be, to be with Christ through Eternity.

The Sadness Of Other People
when i see the sadness of other people
those that walk without aims and look beyond what they have
at the hold of their hands
something inside me says
all is fair in this world
to each his own now
each man carrying his own burden
his cross
and as i too carry mine, shall they too carry theirs
without asking when will this myth of suffering end?
when will this sadness last?
this misery that looks for company
their load that lightens mine
the feeling that
theirs is heavier somehow tell about the comfort
of this situation
everyday to each his own and in order to have hope
one says
mine is lighter and
i always have the reason
to move on with my life and just be silent

A Call For Revolution!
a call for revolution...
rivers rise, and overflow their banks!
branches bud with leaves in the autumn,
butterflies arrive to bring the snow!
every window opened, every lock is broken,
every pot is filled, every table shared.
the language of ears sees no colors,
and dignity wears no chains.
prophets return to being carpenters,
and poets till the earth.
soldiers lay down their guns to become fathers,
nations give way to family.
the faces of god all become one,
the hands of god become many!
freedom becomes a verb not a dream,
hunger is buried by compassionate hands.
forgiveness a way of living,
respect the bridge all must cross.
truth is applauded for asking questions,
as the young and old exchange gifts.
every moment sacred and shared,
the earth revered and protected.
a call for revolution....
just as far away as near!

A New Love
(dave loggins)
Loves the only thing I know in this life
Thats cut me deeper than the sharpest knife
And once again here I am and Im paying the price for a new love
I still hurt the one I lost
Standing here on a bridge that I cant get across
And I cant burn but I will when I walk with a new love
Chorus:
I believe
Its gonna be better then ever before
Thats why Im looking for
A new love
For this old heart
A new love
And I just cant wait to start
I wanna feel that way again
Oh when I find a new love
For this old heart of mine
Say Im looking for a new love
Somebody tell me where I find a new love
For this old heart of mine
Loves the only thing thats ever made me cry
Nothings ever made me feel more alive
Thats why once again here I am
Looking for the eyes of a new love
I know that somewhere in this world tonight
Theres a guy (she goes high on this part and I have no clue what she
Says)
Id even look if I thought I might find a new love
Repeat chorus x2
Oh Im looking for a new love
For this old heart of mine
Oh Im looking for a new love
For this old heart of mine
Say I need a new love
For this old heart of mine
Oh Im looking for a new love
Somebody tell me where Ill find
For this old heart of mine

I Walk The Line
I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the ties that bind
Because youre mine I walk the line
I find it very very easy to be true
I find myself alone when each days through
Yes I admit it, I am a fool for you
Because youre mine I walk the line
As sure as night is dark and days light
I keep you on my mind both day and night
And happiness Ive known proves that its right
Because youre mine, I walk the line
Youve got a way to keep me on your side
You give me cause for love that I cant hide
For you I know Id even try to turn the tide
Because youre mine, I walk that line
I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because youre mine, I walk the line
Because youre mine, I walk the line
Because youre mine, I walk the line
Im gonna walk it
Im gonna walk the line
Im gonna walk it, walk it, walk it
Im gonna walk that line
Im gonna walk it because youre mine
Im gonna walk it, walk it
Im gonna walk the line
Im gonna walk it, walk it
Im gonna walk the line
Im gonna walk it
Im gonna walk the line

Love Will Follow
I run out of breath and start to shake
I love you with all my heart can take
I hold you beside me in my sleep
And long to be dreaming in my sleep
Weve come into a place in time
Where I am yours and youre mine
A circle filled with love
If youll come away with me
I could show you ecstasy
Close your eyes and we will lead
And love will follow
Take a chance and hold my hand
I know youll understand
Well find a special land
And love will follow
A smile on your lips and in your eyes
A stranger adrift in paradise
You touch me and slowly move away
Take all of the night you need to take
Just wait a little while and see
What you mean to me
Ive waited all my life
If you come away with me
I could show you ecstasy
Close your eyes and we will lead
And love will follow
Use your wings and fly away
And come with me today
Your heart will lead the way
And love will follow
(if this was just a chance of make-believe)
(youd never feel it this way)
Ive always wanted to love somebody
As much as i, I wanted you now
Weve come into a place in time
Where I am yours and youre mine
A circle filled with love
If youll come away with me
I could show you ecstasy
Close your eyes and we will lead
And love will follow
Take a chance and hold my hand
I know youll understand
Well find a special land
And love will follow
Girl, I swear Ill never fall
Its a natural pure law
And everywhere we go
Love will follow
Use your wings to fly away
And come with me today
Your heart will lead the way
And love will follow
(hold me long, all night long, where you belong, my baby)
(hold me long, all night long, where you belong, my baby)
(hold me long, all night long, where you belong, my baby)
(hold me long, all night long, where you belong, my baby)
(hold me long, all night long, where you belong, my baby)
(hold me long, all night long, where you belong, my baby)
(hold me long, all night long, where you belong, my baby)
(hold me long, all night long, where you belong, my baby)
(hold me long, all night long, where you belong, my baby)

Stepping out of the shadows..
Stepping out of the shadows to feel the warmth of the light.
To come to an understanding of leaving a lose/lose situation,
and yet feel victorious.
The heart slowing down... thoughts are getting focused. To only
understand the true love I have is called freedom.
The freedom to walk around without stumbling.
The freedom to feel the wind in my face.
The freedom to think about my short past, and my long future.
The freedom to enjoy my life with a view of clarity.
The freedom to count the milage on my long motorcycle rides.
The freedom to count on my friends and never fear.
The freedom to understand some peoples mistakes.
The freedom to walk away and never worry.
Into the light I walk..a new vision.. a new life.

Reasons
Living on the streets of nowhere
Nobody understands and nobody cares
Nobody Listens, so who can I tell my life is just a living hell
I'm going back and forth no one to turn to
Slowly losing my mind so what am I doin'
If you could only see the pain and hurt in my soul
But you don't understand me so how could you know
Sometimes it gets so bad I think I'm losing it
Can't get a hand out of life so I'm losing my grip
And when you lose your grip, then you begin to slip
Death is just waiting one to trip
Heading down the path to nowhere
No one can hear me, 'cause nobody's there
Life gets darker and there's no light at all
When the ways of this world just prepare me for the fall
What can I do, what can I say
I don't know love, only hate
What would you do if you were mep
I guess you'll never know
How would it feel to walk in my shoes
A victim of this world only used and abused
Trapped in a box with the walls coming down on me
Suffocated by my sin, it keeps drowning me
They say they know how I feel
Let's end it all, right now, that's how I feel
Don't have a care in the world, life means nothing
Don't look back, don't look back, just keep running
Run - Keep running
Run - Keep running
How long, o Lord?
Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
And everyday have sorrow in my heart
How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Look on me and answer, o Lord my God
Give light to my eyes or I will sleep in death
My enemy, will say "I have overcome him"
And my foes rejoice when I fall
But I still believe in you Lord
And I know that you're real, you're so real Lord
Come and take me away from this place Lord
Everyday I will follow and seek your face Lord
But I trust in your unfailing love
My heart rejoices in your salvation
I will sing to you my Lord
For he has been, for he has been
Good to me
You're the one who rescued me
And you're the one who set me free
I kept on running, but there's nowhere to hide
You took me in with your arms open wide
You loved me first when no one else would
You died for me so I give my life to you
False hopes and lies
But you're the one who's next time I run
I'm running straight to you

This Book!
small, tiny wondrous things,
all too easy to overlook.
moments of laughter shared,
soft conversations about nothing,
that were about everything!
meals cooked together and shared,
long walks on autumn evenings....
watching old movies and in the hero
finding the same path, the same journey,
the same mistakes, the same triumphs.
cutting wood and building a fire;
making love, and the moments after shared.
harsh words, and then forgiveness,
as easy as turning the page....
this book we've written together,
another chapter, another day!

The Woman at the Crossroad Who Laughed
As I walked up the pavement, up the slight hill
to the traffic lights at the crossroads outside the station,
I saw her waiting to cross.
Or rather, I saw first, her laugh..
She held the hand of her son
as she exchanged words with a passing friend
and laughed..
and what I saw in her eyes, her whole face,
as she laughed, was that as she laughed -
(did she know this? How could I tell her, a stranger?
Lady, lady, at the crossroad of our lives,
I’m writing this poem for you now…)
as she laughed, while she laughed,
I saw that she was in touch, the whole of her,
with her deepest self – just that… all that…
and as I saw that self, which was
(Lady, are you reading this?)
the perfection of perfection, all that’s perfect…
it was as if – no, it was just so –
her self looked at me, and so
the perfect looked at the perfect;
herself and mine together laughed,
laughed at imperfection
and as the perfect looked, it saw perfection
spreading through my eyes from our shared self
so that her son was perfect; and her friend was perfect;
and all around us, every they and it were perfect..
(Lady, Lady, at the Cross’s foot,
was it like this for You?)
the light turned green. And we were free
to cross the road; and
free to live; and
free to laugh away illusion; and
free to be ourselves; forever,
in that time which is forever.
Lady, by my faith, this by my hand;
and with my life I do yet swear
upon my life, this to be true;
Lady, hear, in this my orison,
there are no sins
to be remembered.

Believe In Angels (feat. Graeme Revel)
Where the silence falls
There the river runs deep
Where the shadow ends
So begins the dream
Where the hunger leads me
It's hard to believe
I'll be lost to you
It's the blood that ties
It's the hurt that heals
It's the face you hide
Hides the pain you feel
So hold me up now
Yeah, I'm afraid to breathe
An' I'm lost to you
Yeah, I'm lost to you
I believe in a heaven
I believe in the night
I believe there's a path to follow
I believe in the light
Part of you is the devil
Part of you is the light
I'm gonna fly
Through the city of angels
Hold me under
Let the river wash away my sins
Let me drown and you
Let the water and the love rush you
You can hear me whisper
When you're listenin'
And I'm lost to you
Yeah, lost to you
I believe in a heaven
I believe in the night
I believe there's a path to follow
I believe in the light
Part of you is the devil
Part of you is the light
I'm gonna fly
Through the city of angels
It's the blood that ties
It's the hurt that heals
It's the face you hide
Hides the pain you feel
So hold me up now
I long to believe
And I'm lost to you
Yeah, lost to you
I believe in a heaven
I believe in the night
I believe there's a path to follow
I believe in the light
Part of you is the devil
Part of you is the light
I'm gonna fly
Through the city of angels
I believe in a heaven
I believe in the night
I believe there's a path to follow
I believe in the light
Part of you is the devil
Part of you is the light
I'm gonna fly-ac

Where Can It Go
(robert palmer)
When love comes in
And takes your heart
Just let it go
And play your part
When love comes in
And takes your heart
Just let it go
And play your part oh oh
A searching love
Is a precious thing
Easy to spoil
And so hard to give in to
The blame is shared
When we meet half way
Desire is real
Its a path to be taken
Even sleep can turn cruel
When your hearts confused
Whether we spend our lives together
Or we never see each other again
Ill always celebrate
The times that we both knew
Baby your love is here
Is mine with you?
In the deep of our eyes
We just wait to be taken
Sometimes weve been mistreated
By the love we gave
Honey were not pretenders
We both know life isnt only a game
Ill always celebrate the times that we both know
Baby your love is here
Where can it go?
When love comes in
And takes your heart
Just let it go
And play your part
When love comes in
And takes your heart
Just let it go
And play your part oh oh
When love comes in and takes your heart
Let it go and play your part

Pleasant Places, Beautiful Borders
God grants me joy to love the Lord, He taught my heart to sing
For each new blessing and reward that only God could bring...
From Adam's line, each child was born and I was made aware
That God is able to forewarn each time I kneel in prayer...
For who am I and whose am I? God called me out by name...
No more a child that's prone to cry with sins to cause me shame.
My God, to me, is ever near, His Spirit guides my path,
Such that I walk devoid of fear, such that I'm prone to laugh...
Consider what the Lord has done that I should feel so blessed,
His light, to me, outshines the sun, His love has proved the best...
I marvel at the grace bestowed on someone such as I...
My very life to God is owed... His love for me won't die...
How can that be? What can I say? He fills me to the brim.
I think of God by night and day. I'll always think of Him...
What pleasant places He has spared, as if just mine alone...
Beautiful borders He has shared, this land is mine to own...
What can I do, but take His hand? He leads me tenderly,
Grants wisdom I can understand, because it's meant for me...
No wonder that I praise the Lord and teach new songs as well,
For love like His can't be ignored by hearts that long to tell.

The Sound Of My Silence
we arrive at the end of the road
and there is a single pebble
there staring at us
smooth and round
and too light for our burden
i decide the fate of two souls
yours and mine
i lift my eyes to see your sorrow
and mine
i lift my foot to walk away
leaving an awkward cloud
beneath the sand
i run away and you vanish from my mind
you take your gaze towards the horizon
i pack mine towards the sunless sea.

Pages in the Book
in the midnite hour 'neath the street lamp shadows,
where lifetimes come and go, and salvation follows.
and the heart stripped bare has no need to lie...
the taste of your lips, the tears that i cant cry.
with beaten hands and swords into plows;
giving all that i am, more than i can do without.
i'd trade eternity for one moment by your side...
with your hand in mine and nothing left to hide.
making love in the dirt by the cementary stones,
the yip of the dogs while the wind howls and moans.
your fingers dig into my back, i dive into your soul...
where fire was discovered, spinning out of control.
you close the book, turn the page, walk out the door,
call it all a lie, say you dont love me anymore.
the scars of passion in the shadows 'neath your eyes...
hymns of hope and redemption where the sparrow flies.
pour me a drink, light a smoke, my hat and my heart,
looking for your image in the hunger of the dark.
truth and freedom and justice dissolve into dust...
struck blind and deaf, my soul turned to rust.
down the road past the house where nobody lives.
where love looks in a mirror, repents and forgives.
every moment wasted, every word unspoken turns...
the heart beats faster, but the fire slowly burns.
kiss my lips and bury me down by the willow tree.
take this weight from my heart, set my spirit free.
in the eyes of God and time you are my destiny...
i'm nothing but a river that flows into your sea.
say no prayers, now the time of praying is past.
what's last is now first, what's first is now last...
the song of the poet dies with a fatal look...
all that we are now... pages in the book.

Walk Away
By marcy levy and richard feldman
You leave a trail of tears wherever you go.
One of us will hold you, the other one wont.
But I could never share your love or leave it behind.
Break his heart, not mine.
Do you remember tender moments we shared?
How could this true affection vanish into thin air?
Hes not worth the trouble, baby; hes just a waste of your time.
Oh, break his heart, not mine.
Dont you walk away,
You know youre gonna miss me.
Dont you walk away, walk away.
Youre gonna miss me,
Youre gonna miss my love.
So dont you walk away,
Dont you walk away, walk away.
Dont you walk away, walk away.
So Ill be waiting in the backroom, baby, when you kiss him goodbye.
Oh, break his heart not mine, but...
Chorus
Dont you walk away, walk away.
Oh dont you walk away.
I know youre gonna miss my love.
Dont you walk away, walk away.
Dont you walk away.
Youre gonna miss my love.
Dont you walk away, walk away.
