Conversations Angels And Demons (Part Four)

standing in the middle of a parking
lot, talking to an old man...

he said: 'i've never seen it
this bad... everybody on edge,
struggling, scared...
nobody knows what's going to
happen...
and hell, half of everybody you
meet, or more, taking them damn
pills...'

'yea, they come in here all the
time, middle of the day, whacked out...'

'pills and poverty go together... you
cant make it, cant stand the pressure,
they prescribe you the pills.'

'i think the medical profession got it
started, and it's mushroomed... into
some kind of evil disease.'

'i know a man, worked with him for twenty
years... him and his wife used to come over
and eat with us, play cards... they were
like family.
him and her got to having problems, he started
beating her... found out he was on the pills.'

'what happened to them? '

'well, he lost his job. they lost the house,
pretty much all they had. she left him. he tried
to kill her, but the law stopped him.
i tried to talk to him the other day. he told
me 'he couldnt live without her'...
i told him, 'no, he couldnt live without the
pills'...
tried to talk him into getting some help...
but he wouldnt listen...'

'yea, it's tough. you cant help somebody
that wont admit they need help... the woman
all right? '

'she's working, trying to start over... it's
hard for her...'

i shook his hand, and walked away. pills...
another weapon of ignorance!

Pain Pills

I took too many pain pills
To see what it would do
I took too many pain pills
Now i'm thinking about you

I took too many pain pills
My body's shutting down
I took too many pain pills
I'm lying on the ground

I took too many pain pills
I'm wishing you were here
I took too many pain pills
My death is drawing near

I took too many pain pills
It's messing with my head
I took too many pain pills......

And I think i'm finnaly dead....

Pills, Pills, Pills
Pills I do adore

Pills, Pills, Pills
Yes, that's right-
Give me more!

'Look at her!
She's such a fien'd! '
'No, I'm not! '
-I try to scream
But, I know the truth
And, so do they
I'v got no chance
In them believing what I say
I'm addicted now
Completely hooked
It's not only my life
But, my sanity they took
All of my pain
All of my frustration
My pills took away
My fantasies of self mutilation
They make feel great
They make me complete
My neurosis they erase
My paranoia they delete
So I eat them for breakfast
For lunch, and for dinner
And, I no longer care whether
I'm a loser or a winner
I eat them all day
Shovel in one right after another
As I try to erase the pained faces
Of my Father and my Mother
And, it's like everybody watches
Yes, they just sit and they listen
As my eyes are tear streaked
So shiny they glisten
It is my pills that I love
It is my pills that I need
It is my pills that I live off of-
Live off of and feed
They make me feel happy
When I'm feeling sad
They make me feel good
When I'm feeling bad
They stop all the thoughts
They seem to flood through my brain
And, they make me feel normal
Even though we all know I'm not sane
Yummy.
I ate them again.
You know its funny?
They have become my only friend
All of this I explain
I scream and I shout
I just want my pills!
I don't care what anything else is about!
You can't have my pills
Give me them back
Give me ten more
Hell-give me a stack!
'Cause I'll die on these things
And, I'll do it in vain!
Because they feel so fu*kin' good
Painkillers really do kill all the pain.

Overdose

As I overdose these pills,
Watch me die,
Bring me back to life if you can,
Pump these pills out of me,
Save me,
Can you save yourself,
Overdo on things,
Watch me as I overdose,
Watch as these doctors pump these pills out of me,
Go up on the hill,
Go scream your heart out,
I might hear you but I might be dead,
Poison leading through my body,
As I lay dying on floor,
Overdose these pills,
As I sleep,
Sleeping forever,
For know one knows what had happen to me,
The story of my life will end soon,
As soon as I overdose these pills,
Remember me when I am done,
Just one memory of me,
As I overdose on these pills that will end my life,
Thinking why should I end my life or how I should I get it,
I guess it natural for me to think these thoughts,
But someday soon I will overdose.

Pills for Pain. Blood for hurt

How much can a person endure
Before realising pills make the pain stop
They numb all feeling and leave you cold
Cold and dead inside
Pills for pain blood for hurt

It trickles slowly out
The harder you push the faster the hurt escapes
How can a person hurt themselves
When all they do is hurt
When you hurt emotionally physically is easier
Pills for pain blood for hurt

To be nobody to no one
To be unloved and unknown
I am know by the pills
They know me
They make me a someone
Pills for pain blood for hurt

To have a heart broken
Shattered and screaming for less hurt
To feel so much love and the next day non
Pills for pain blood for hurt

Love leads to pain
Caring leads to hurt
Pills for pain
Blood for hurt
Nobody to save me

Purple Pills

Purple pills
cure all ills.
Keep them close
to mop up spills.

Fractured temple,
Cursed mind,
Not unstable,
Not unkind,
Not instructive.
Understood,
Purple pills
for greater good.

Take them first,
Take them last,
Take them always,
Take them fast.
Lesser evil,
Greater score.
Purple pills
will give you more.

Purple pills
cure all ills.
Take them quickly,
fill our tills.

Purple Pill Palarver

I take my little purple pills each morning and each night.
My Doctor says I need them and he thinks that he is right.
But I don't really think i need them I just wanted you to know
I take 'em, 'cause I like 'em and they really make me go...

They make me hop and skip and jump and do the things I please.
They make me walk on water and talk to birds and trees.
I love my little purple pills and what they do for me.
They fill me with the feeling of pure ecstasy...

Though I'm really not addicted I can stop 'em if I must
But why take drastic measures my purple pills I trust
My Doctor called me in last week and said 'You'll have to stop.'
But I jumped up on his shiny desk in one tremendous hop.

I said 'Listen you old geezer, and listen very close.
You write a script out here and now and double up me dose.
Try to think about the suffering, try to think about the pain,
When my fingers wrap around ya' throat and strangle off your brain.'

I love my little purple pills and what they do for me.
They keep me calm and regular as you can plainly see.
If my Doctors say they're needed then who am I to doubt them.
But I'm really not addicted I just can't seem to live without 'em.

His People

the old man sat out here on the porch,
shaking, smoking a cigarette... waiting
on his ride.
i sat down to talk to him, mostly to listen...
'you know, my daughter and her husband
lost their jobs, and their house. so we
moved them and their kids in with us...
they're strung out on them pills, we cant
get them off... hell, she's took everything
in the house she could sell....'
and i just listened.... him, and his wife,
both on disability... barely able to get
from point a to point b...
every day i hear these stories... all different,
but all the same in the end.... no jobs,
nowhere to stay, no health insurance...
and dependence... usually pills...
these are the forgotten people, the people
without a voice... if Jesus were alive today,
these would be His people!

Pills

Some have side effects
Some don't
Some will help you
Some won't,

Some will damage kidneys
Some your heart
Some will make you sick
Some will give you a new start,

Pills that make you sick
And pills that make you well
We have to have them
Or we feel like hell!

What's My Name Again

Heads a mess, can't think straight,
mental status is up for debate.
Constant state of delusion,
eyes only see optical illusion.
Inner voices cloud the mind,
can't deal with the daily grind.
Popping pills helps to think,
otherwise would be driven to drink.
Pills in the morning, pills in the night,
without warning, could start a fight.
One minute Jekyll, one minute Hyde,
split personality standing side by side.
Sometimes country, sometimes rock,
sometimes pussy, sometimes cock.
Sometimes naughty, sometimes nice,
sometimes fire, sometimes ice.
Pills must not be working,
more personalities are slowly lurking.
Every day is something new,
remembering the days of just a few.
Not alone in this padded cell,
its very obvious I'm not well.
Sometimes Mike, sometimes Dave,
both of them to young to shave.
Sometimes John, sometimes Frank,
together their plotting to rob a bank.
Sometimes Mary, sometimes Beth,
Sam shoots heroin, Amy smokes meth.
What's my name again?
Maybe Gary, maybe Glen,
can't remember way back when.

The Great OD

One Pill
Two Pills
Three Pills
FOUR.

Ten Pills
Twenty Pills
Fifty Pills
FLOOR.

Fall down-
Hit the gorund.

Eyes they blur,
Can't make out a word.

Spinning in circles
Can't seem to breathe
Legs they are swollen
Feet they feel weak
Laughing and crying
It seems like a joke
Like a game you're not playing
With the clear of the smoke
Reaching for help
Needing a hand
Can't even try
To sit
Or to stand
Falling back down
Breaths become weaker
You're starting to drift
Drift even deeper
Hopsital visit
At four in the 'mourn
Heart it seems broken
Yes, heart it seems torn
Parents-awake!
Daughter is dying...
She's left in a heap
On the floor crying
Carted away-
Strapped to a bed
'You're luck you're still-
Alive and not dead! '
But, it seems like a play
It just doesn't seem real
Yet, it's this pulse that they want
It's this life that they steal
Vials of blood
They seem to take
As smiles and sanity
You continue to fake
Grinning through tears
You try to hide
All of the pain
You hold onto your pride
Regurgitation
Takes over now
Out with the bottle;
Out with it somehow
'Everything will be okay-'
You hear in your sleep
You hear them say
But, then you are choking
And, dreaming and done
And, there just simply is no way
That it's these pills that have won
When you awake
When you come to
The pills are now gone
And, you are once again you
And, the pain it subsides
For merely one day
As you fall to your knees
And you begin to pray
You thank the lord
You're still alive
And, you let out a breath
And, you let out a sigh
As you finally see
You finally realize
That it just simply was not
Your time to die.

Here and now

Right here and now.
All I want to dod is cry!
Here and now I want to die
Here and now I swallow the pills.
Drowned with the vodka.
Soon right here and now.
I will be dead by morning.
Cold and stiff In my bed.
Atleast I can be at peace.
No more of lifes troubles to face.
For the pain I felt I just couldnt brace.

Right here and now.
I am dying.
I took the plunge.
I did what I thought was best.
I swallowed the pills.
Drowned with vodka.
Please dont save me

Suicides Hand

Today I'll be gone
I'm going to take your hand now Suicide.
Please please lead me to freedom.
Release me from my fears.
Please no more tears.

Today I'm leaving this world,
Suicide has shown me the way.
Told me sadness I need not bear.
Dont need to be a burden no more.

Suicide told me go on,
Go on take them pills,
|You'll soon be free.

Now I'm on my way with suicide
The pills taking over me
Sleepiness is at hand.
The peace and tranquility

You suicide are my best friend,
Freedom and releasement you give
oh suicide thankyou
thankyou for showing me to heaven

A Wonderful Woman

A good talk is so up lifting
Taking one away from drifting
No thinking of if-ing

Just a good talk
One that make you want to walk
But not stalk...

One that take you back in years
Remembering your young tears and fears.
The laughter of childhood...

Damn! a good talk is so good.
Filling your heart with warmth
Putting dreams out of place...

Adding to your world lace...
And not haste.
A good talk and the world stands still...

What a thrill...
taking away ones ills...
Forgetting about ones pills...

Damn! what a good talk will do for you.

Opening up things within...
That you re-live again...
That good talk is with a woman.

A woman you enjoy...
A good talk taking from toy of being a boy.
The things a good woman is capable of...

Without making love.

So I thank the good LORD above...
For speech...
And what a good woman can teach.

All in a good talk...
A conversation without a face...
But on the over side woman.

A woman with grace.

Consequence Of Laughing

Take all your pills and divide them
By color & size
Take all your problems and advise them
That everythings fine
Since you ran away youve been beating
Your habits to death
But if you were to stay would you feed them
This white happiness
Nobody wants to harm you
When youre outside
But its hard to believe
When everyones killing time
Somebody knows
That youre not laughing
Take all your pills and divide them
By number and might
Take all your problems chastise them
Because everythings fine
Since youve ran away youve been beating
Those ladders instead
But if you were to stay would you feed them
With violence

Ellens' Story-Almost Dead

Suicide, will that happen to me? It is not I, who will
cause this final act in life, it is the dark side of
who I am. I want to live, however, the monster, who
resides inside me...wants to commit suicide.

Everything I do...everywhere I go, blackness, inevitable
doom, trails me. I hear his voice,
'Do it...commit suicide. You have nothing to live for...do it! '

Alone, I sob. 'What about the people that love me?
I don't want to hurt them.' His voice again...
'Do it. Kill yourself. You'll be doing them a favor.'

I stare at the bottle of sleeping pills. Suicide...suicide,
it seems a way to solve all my problems.
'YES! The voice blared! Suicide is the answer! '

Suicide? No. Yes.No...what...what to do?
I need to talk with someone. Who? No one!
God...if you're up there, help me. Give me
a sign. I wait...Nothing. No word. No sign.

Slowly, I move to the closet, remove my clothes
and slip on my favorite robe. Tears roll down
my cheeks, as I turn on some soft music.

The voice again: 'That's it. Make yourself comfortable,
then...do it! '

I move to the bed, sit down and reach for the glass
of water. With one hand, I snap off the cap on the
bottle of sleeping pills. Slowly, I move the bottle
toward my mouth.

''Ellen...Ellen? '
From outside my bedroom door, I can
hear my little brother calling me.
'Ellen....'

I hesitate, I don't want him to be the one
that finds me. Quickly, I place the pills
on the nightstand, and replace the cap.
I move to the door and open it.
My brother, is standing there, smiling at me.
'Ellen, watcha ya doin''

I couldn't say committing suicide.
'Just watching a little t.v.'
'Can I come in, ' he said.

I thought about how much he and my family
loved me. I thought about a bunch of other
things I had to be thankful for. I gave serious
about life, and I treasured it. Suicide?
Not tonight.

I look at my little brother and never loved
him more.

'Sure...come in, we'll watch t.v. together.'

Pain-Free

Teenage girl, seventeen years of age.
Tired of making stupid mistakes.
Tired of being put down.
All she wants to do is be happy.
And make her family proud.
She's locked herself in her room.
Her only safe haven.
Wondering what it would be like if she was never born.
Her mind a jumbled mess.
Tired of the constant scorn.
Tired of regret.
Tired of causing it on her family.
She looks at herself in the mirror.
And a stupid girl stares back at her.
Telling her: 'you're worthless all you do is cause pain, your ugly, annoying and weird you don't deserve to live! '
She sees the pills staring back at her.
Inviting her to be pain-free.
Telling her that all her pain and problems will go away.
She takes the pills and knows she will inflict no more pain on her family, friends, and herself.

(Drugs&Suicide Poem) A Last Resort

I'm on the pills again
I'm on the drugs again
I'm on a binge again
So high tonight
The lights are just to bright
Blinding

Defining you and me
Who are we going to really be
My thought are my needs
My blood looks like thick red water
I will not wake tomorrow
Death comes so slowly
You are never ready
Its like that pop up confetti
Did you bring it to the party

I'm on the pills again
I'm on the drugs again
I'm on a binge again
So high tonight
The lights are just to bright
Blinding

I'm rewinding my video of memories
Which lies in my head
The good
The bad
The sad
The cationic state
That most will never be able to relate
Why do I lie still
Have I lost all my will

I'm on the pills again
I'm on the drugs again
I'm on a binge again
So high tonight
The lights are just to bright
Blinding

Never ending
Is this a game of pretending
The screams
The shouts
They are the clouds reflections
They can be seen from the inside
The oceans comes with the high tides
The hole has gotten so wide
I need a fix

Give me the pills
Give me the drugs
I'm going on my very last binge
Before life hands me my sweet revenge
Angel of darkness take me to a place
I would not other wise ever know
Please lets go
Lets just go

Dance

No more than chance,
I'm told it's quite surprising
I could walk out and just impress myself
I need to hurt,
I need to crash for my sake
You are something
that I could do without
And I could always
take the pills and leave
But you have to stay awake
to stay away
And I would die for you
And I would cry too
And I would sing like rain
And I would find you
I dream of rumours
like a favourite pastime
With conversation like
"I need to breathe"
This celebration makes me
crawl away and hide
And you must know that
I would die for you
And I could always
take the pills and leave
But you have to stay awake
to stay away
And I will die for you
