Changing The Dressing!

changing the dressing,
carefully, so as not to hurt,
prayerfully, with old hands...

that have loved you for years....
stirring fires and creating worlds
of passionate fission....

that have worked with you,
believing against all odds....
that have wiped away tears,

and held our children gently....
on the edge of distress,
like so many others....

we are an open wound,
to be tended with care.
we are the scar of love's doing

against all that has been done!

The Hand Song

The boy only wanting to give mother something,
And all of her roses had bloomed.
Looking at him as he came rushing in,
without knowing her roses were doomed.
All she could see were some thorns buried deep,
And tears that he cried as she tended his wounds.
And she knew it was love, it was what she could understand.
He was showing his love and that's how he hurt his hands.
He still remembers that night as a child, on his mothers knee.
She held him close and she opened her Bible, and quietly started to read.
Then seeing a picture of Jesus, he cried out:
"Mama he's got some scars just like me!"
And he knew it was love, it was what he could understand.
He was showing his love, and that's how he hurt his hands.
[instrumental break]
Now the boy is grown and moved out on his own.
When Uncle Sam comes along.
A foreign affair, but our young men are there.
And luck had his number drawn.
It wasn't that long till our hero was gone, he gave to a friend what he learned from the cross.
But they knew it was love, it one they could understand.
He was showing his love, and that's how he hurt his hands.
It was one they could understand.
He was showing his love, and that's how he hurt his hands.

My Stories Of You (Chapter Nine)

She had giants following her scented footsteps,
and worlds of murderous blue, creating words of love
outside her heart.
But she loved no one that loved her.
She loved me, but as long as I didn't love her back.
Between the stars I travel, collecting the words
that keep slipping from my love letters of you.
They don't want to be finished, someone tells me.
He must be right.
At the edge of the world, I whisper to you, that I love you,
but there's no answer to comfort me,
no kiss to return the favour.
I haven't even seen you today, but my worlds
will still mean nothing without you.
Sadness is good, it means something to me,
for it makes me write more of you,
and I don't want to stop loving you.

Dublin Sky

I've been down a lonely street tonight
And I don't know what's wrong with me
I don't know what's wrong with me
The clouds cover up the Dublin sky
I don't know what's left of me
I don't know what's right with me
And I've tried to keep my distance
And I've sung Amazing Grace
I've tarnished all our memories
But there'll always be a trace of you
Of you
I remember laughing on that river's edge
Trying to get you to jump with me
Trying to get you to fall for me
And your trembling heart it beat so fast
Holdings hands you promised me
Holding hands we counted to three
And I felt your slipping fingers
And I saw you change your mind
If I hadn't dragged you in with me
You would have let me dive without you
Without you
They sent you all the way from Hollywood
And maybe that Dublin sky was changing you
It put diamonds in your eyes
I always thought we were going to make it through
But I wanted to hear it first from you
How many days am I going to regret you?
How many nights till I forget you?
Have I been wasting all those years?
Held down by these tears?
How many dreams have I left deserted?
How many hopes have been diverted?
Have I been buried in the dirt?
Held down by this hurt?
How many loads did I let you hijack?
How many ways can I study the playback
How did I end up lying here
Crying underneath the Dublin sky?
How many days am I going to regret you?
How many nights till I forget you?
Have I been wasting all these years?
Drowning in my tears?
How many nights am I going to regret you?
How many days till I forget you?
Have I been wasting all these years?
Drowning in my tears?
No (no, no, no)

Laus Mortis

I bring to thee, for love, white roses, delicate Death!
White lilies of the valley, dropping gently tears,
The white camellia, the seal of perfect years,
The misty white azalea, flickering as a breath.
White flowers I bring, and all the flowers I bring for thee,
Discreet and comforting Death! for those pale hands of thine;
O hands that I have fled, soft hands now laid on mine,
Softer than these white flowers of life, thy hands to me,
Most comfortable Death, mother of many dreams,
And gatherer of many dreams of men,
Dreams that come desolately flying back again,
With soiled and quivering wings, from undiscovered streams.
I have been fearful of thee, mother, all life long,
For I have loved a warm, alluring, treacherous bride,
Life, and she loved thee not; to hold me from thy side,
She closed her arms about my heart, to do thee wrong.
O gay and bitter bride of such divine desires,
Too fiercely passionate Life, that wast so prodigal
Of thine eternal moments, at the end of all
Take my forgiveness: I have passed through all thy fires.
Nothing can hurt me now, and having gained and lost
All things, and having loved, and having done with life,
I come back to thy arms, mother, and now all strife
Ceases; and every homeward-flying dream, wind-tossed,
My soul that looks upon thy face and understands,
My throbbing heart that at thy touch is quieted,
And all that once desired, and all desire now dead,
Are gathered to the peace and twilight of thy hands.

I Dreamed.... (Hands)

i dreamed last night...
and all i could see were hands.
sometimes hard and calloused,
sometimes soft and feminine.
skilled hands, laborer's hands,
loving hands, nurturing hands....
fingers digging in the dirt,
fingers holding a pen.
fingers playing a piano,
fingers unbuttoning blouses.

hands extended, hands gripping the rope,
hands holding the shovel,
hands covered with resin.
hands folded in prayer,
hands balled into fists.
hands stuffed in empty pockets.
hands that define both history,
and destiny!

hands scarred and bruised,
hands covered with age spots.
hands that speak many languages.
hands that know mistakes, and failures.
hands that built fires,
hands that put fires out!
hands that wiped away tears,
that picked up trash,
and revealed souls....

whose hands?
my hands, your hands?
god's hands?
does it really matter?
hands engaged and involved,
in the very act of living!

Are You Going To See Your Mom?

'Mom,
I come back again.'
I shouted
in my mind.
It is said that
Plane flies fast.
But my heart
flew to my Mom
before the plane landed.

I knew
that my sisters come here
in turn everyday.
Now this day
I would be on duty.
When I stepped into the nursing home,
I saw Mom in a wheel chair,
with more white hair,
and more wrinkles on face.
I gave her a hug,
'Hi, Mom.' I shouted near her ear.

Mom stared me with dull sight,
then held my hands,
'Sister' she called me,
She couldn't recognize me!
I couldn't hold my tears any more.
Mom didn't cry,
just wiped out my tears
using her hand.

When lunch was ready,
I fed her one spoon after another;
Mom nodded her head while she's chewing;
A little smile showed up at the edge of her lips.

I hated that It's time to leave,
I stood up, and said
'Good bye, Mom.'
She looked at me,
held my hands, and asked me:
'Are you going to see your Mom? '

* Mom had dementia two years before and moved into a nursing home.
Also, she has hearing problem.
Are You Going To See Your Mom? *

Wound

a wound will always
be a wound.

a scar may come
to say you are healed
but soon it will
remember the wound.

perhaps you have not
loved enough
to learn from those
whose hearts
are broken, they

say: forgive and forget.

After Nights

I've hated to talk about it,
but there has been so many after nights.
I've needed to work out, one more story.

Trying to end, my often very sad's.
Another one, of my, the most incredibly bad's!

My heart, was shaking as I knelt on the ground.
My hands, were pressing his wounds.
Pressing hard, prayng, deeper and deeper.
Begging God, Help, Shouting, Holding back the Grim Reaper

Like his mother, my shaking hands
With a sobbing, torn chest
Held him tightly to my breast
Gently wiped the blood from his face and lips
I watched, and felt his soul, escaped my grip.
Raining tears washed the blood from his face.
Even now, I've often wished that God.
Would've let me take his place!

I couldn't bare to see my brother die!
The shouting of my heart, screaming why? God. Why?
Please! God! Why....?
I felt my buddies tears, they were hugging our backs.
Even though, I knew he was dead.
God,
I held him close, I kissed his head.
Like a mother with hurt child.
I sat, rocking him in the mud.
Filling a rice paddy with tears, and blood.

So now after all these years.
I've tried to tell, my life story. Of so many tears.
I've had enough, to make rice paddies flood?
My tears as I've relived, nights, after nights.
How I tried. To stop. My buddies blood
So, just, how, many tears, does it take to make a rice paddy flood?
I've seen that much, and his filled it with blood.

So when you read this, try to understand.
I'm doing the best that I can.
I fight every day the things that make me so sad.
But it helps to talk about it, and the many after nights!
The days and days, the nights after nights.
I've called my life stories, just incredibly bad...........

Old scar, new scar

Old scar, new scar
Stitched together by excellent tailor
Old scar on the hand
New scar on the head
Same pain, different trouble
First came shock
Then hurt became blue
Blue’s gone leaving scar
Old scar, white scar
New scar, hidden well
When morning’s gone, nights always come
Craving old scar, leaving new scar
Old scar, new scar
Stitched together by excellent tailor

The beauty within

The beauty of choice is you get to choose,
Wheather to live your life, or ruin it,
to live or die,
love or hate,
care or not care,
break, or heal,
steal, or buy,
help, or leave,
stay or go,
many possibilities.
Just hopefully you are not like a person I know,
He says he dont care but I know he does,
He says he hates the world but I know he loves it,
He says things he dont mean,
yet they hurt people around him,
He has seen many tears,
He has seen many years of pain,
He doesnt deserve anymore but that is merely his choice,
On wheather to love or to hurt,
to be nice or be crude,
To be happy or depressed all the time,
So its his choice on wheather people care anymore or not,
He is the owner of his life and no one can change his mind.
He can say he needs to hurt all he needs to,
He can hurt himself if he thinks that is what is right.
He can be the guy to ruin his life over nothing,
No one is going to help him if he doesnt let them.
If he dont listen no one will save him,
So he can either be saved or be left,
and frankly I think he is choosing death over life....
Sad isnt it? I tried helping but nothing worked.
So be it. He can do what he will do. Im done.
Im done with everything, every pain every hurt, every tear.
IM DONE. Bye.

When It Was Over, You Did Not Tell Me Where It Really Ended

you show me a scar
in your heart,
you assure yourself it was once the wound
of things that ended
years ago

of the wound
that i inflicted

you had anger and
now when we meet again
you are smiling
you now
have happiness beside him and your children

i look deeper inside your eyes
showing you also my scars
in my own way of telling you about
my loneliness for years
accumulating like layers of mud and
rocks

this loneliness
that never ends like doors that always open
to the night skies
without stars

on the surface of my skin
lies a wound that never heals
you caused it too
but i did not tell you

let them believe that i am the guilty party
the fault of your earth
the murderer convicted but was never heard

i smile at you this day
i am happy on this casual meeting

it will be the last
i am dressed but i am not prepared to go anywhere
on the surface
how can you see what is on this deep
sinking eyes?

the sharks, the pointed rock, the deaths on the ocean floors
the corpses there rotting
unearthed unnamed.

Divorce.. To My Children I`m So Very Sorry

With every divorce there is marriage,

Are we talking love and fairy tales, horse and carriage.

Let me burst the bubble of those with fantasies,

It starts we, us and ours, and soon become I, my and me`s.

Marriage is hardwork, trying, and many a sacrifice,

Its two people who have loved, but soon learn to despise, to be precise.

But remember these words from a synical divorcee,

Your children will suffer, with your actions believe me.

I was vengeful and wanted my pound of flesh,

He was vicious and mean, creating an awful mess.

The childrens emotions all over the place,

Anger, tears, confusion and blame, normal for divorce in any case.

You wanted a life, you 'needed to move on' you`d say,

The kids forced into this, new woman, her kids, the disarray.

If only you`d seen the hurt, wiped the tears from their face,

Listened to the crys as they mourned your place.

Raised their hopes, made false promises, watched the let downs,

I saw, I watched what we`d to our own, such evil clowns.

Dont get me wrong I`m glad we divorced, dissolved our sad marriage,

I hate that we hurt our children and caused so much damage.

Your new life was emotionally a costly affair,

Scars worn like badges and crosses to bare.

So heed what I say, and think hard before you divorce,

Make time, talk, be civil and try before you take this course.

Children grow so quick and leave home, its not long,

So give them the best start be PARENTS sing the same song x

Here, There & Everywhere

(John LennonPaul McCartney)
Here making each day of the year
Changing my life with one wave of his hand
Nobody can deny that there's something there
There running my hands thru his hair
Both of us thinking how good it can be someone is speaking
But he doesn't know she's there
I want him everywhere and if he's beside me I know I need never care
But to love him is to meet him
Everywhere knowing that love is to share
Each one believing that love never dies watching his eyes and hoping I'm
always there
To be here and everywhere here there and everywhere
I want him everywhere and if he's beside me I know I need never care

A Cave Like A Grave

I've put your love in a cage
I've held your love and your pain
With both of my hands with my regrets
I've dumped your love and my regrets in the cage

Since the day that you've gone
Journey for me has begun
I've hidden your love and It's pain
I've dug the cave like a grave

I've held the memories with my hand
I've touched the pain, Ah I cried vain
One by one I've added them to the cave
All your promises were undone
You've gone.
I've put the cave like a grave
Upon my shoulders I held your ache unaware
Years long years you were there
Inside my heart never went

I've held you with me in rough
I cried, I suffered pain, oh in vain
I held you with me all these years. Never could leaving the past years
I've held them like a bag
filled with fires and with pain
Since the day that you've gone The misery of love for me was begun
Today I want you to know
I've thrown away the cage including all your aches
I left my soul free, out of the grave of your love
The journey for me has found an end.

Open Verdict, Closed Book - Current Version

The ageing coroner carefully cast
an open verdict there,
gently judged soul blown by [s]own blast
with voice even and fair.

Accidental overdose, case was classed,
still questions sightless stare,
as atmosphere hung overcast,
self-murder stung harsh air.

When budding rose finds stem cut short
and parents bury child,
Nature revolts, and mourns soul caught
in limbo, loss reviled.

Self-sacrifice society's outcast
poured through pores everywhere,
sweat-shadowed cold courtroom ugly, ghast,
echoed by benches bare.

Sad, hurt hemlocked heart had heaved its last.
Eyes open unaware
as Adam's scar[r]ed sons rush past so fast
that none has time to care.

Two Different Worlds

I know this girl, shes always on my mind
She lives in her world and I live in mine
I should forget about her and Ive tried
Lord knows Ive tried
But I want to know her, and heres the other side
Ive got someone waiting for me every night
Shes the only one Ive ever loved
And its been that way for the longest time
Shes the one that makes my world go right
And it tears me in two because I know where Ill be tonight
I think she knows it
I think she knows
Two different worlds, two different worlds
One that belongs to me, one could be wrong for me
Two different worlds, two different worlds
Oh, two different worlds
Is she that different or is it the thrill of someone new
Strung out on her, I need her love
I need it bad, and I know, I know its true
Im the one that lies awake alone
I know, shes the one that makes me stray from home
And I know it
Yeah, I know it
Two different worlds, two different worlds
One that I may regret, one that I cant forget
Two different worlds, two different worlds
Oh, always two different worlds
No, I cant explain this emptiness
No, I know I cant go on like this
Two different worlds, two different worlds
Two different worlds
I live in two different worlds
One that I may regret, one that I wont forget
Two different worlds
But I cant live in both, I know
One world I must let go

Unconditionally Open

these hands,
that took yours
and walked away from all
we knew.

these hands,
that laid brick,
cut wood,
plowed gardens,
picked up trash

built fences for the dogs,
held the children
when they were small,
held your hands
at the hospital

stroked your body,
touching forbidden places
with gentleness and
passion

wrote the poetry
hidden in your eyes

these hands,
now old and calloused,
sometimes tremble,
sometimes hard as stone

these hands are open,
without fear or trepidation,
unconditionally open
waiting for yours.
