A Room... (You Dare Not Enter)
there is no hope among vagabonds,
infidels' prayers return 'address unknown'.
Jesus rode a donkey to India,
to burn incense by Buddha's grave.
while Magdalene wept,
in her childbearing bed,
for the sound of small feet unheard...
so then must love betray,
the bed defiled by neglect?
as the tears of hunger fall
on pillows creased by ghosts!
the throb no more,
than the heart inside walls,
of the room you dare not enter!

Teardrops Will Fall
I read your letter, darlin'
Tears filled my eyes
All of the promises you made were nothing but lies
So I turned your photograph around face to the wall
And when I dim the lights in my room tonight
Teardrops will fall
Teardrops will fall tonight
Tears I can't hide
Tears that I'd rather keep
Deep down inside
Tears fall
And love is gone beyond these walls
And when I dim the lights in my room tonight
Teardrops will fall
I'm gonna pray tonight, baby
Hopin' you will hear
And maybe you'll write all those wrongs
And dry each tear
I sit alone tonight
Hopin' you will call
And when I dim the lights in my room tonight
Teardrops will fall
Teardrops will fall tonight
Tears I can't hide
Tears that I'd rather keep
Deep down inside
Tears fall
And love is gone beyond these walls
And when I dim the lights in my room tonight
Teardrops will fall
Teardrops will fall tonight
Tears I can't hide
Tears that I'd rather keep
Deep down inside
Tears fall
And love is gone beyond these walls
And when I dim the lights in my room tonight
When I dim the lights in my room tonight
Teardrops will fall

Children's Playground In The City
THIS is a place where men laid their dead,
Each with his life-tale of good or ill;
Here prayers were murmured and hot tears shed,
And passionate anguish moaned its fill.
Silent now is each voice that cried,
And the tears that were wept have all been dried
In the dust; and dust are the hearts that bled
With hopeless longing for hearts grown still.
Dead and forgotten! for Death, requiter
Of love, taught Memory how to forget!
The love that remembered them died. Grow brighter,
Oh, dim grave-garden, with dead hearts set!
Room for the small flying feet to pass,
The feet of the children over the grass!
The dead, if they knew it, would feel them lighter
Than the weight of a stone that no tears make wet.
We must die too, and the grief that will live
Must die as surely--death comes to all;
But you who come after--let Nature give
To our graves her tears, to our dust her pall:
Let her hide us away in her cold broad breast,
Let us be forgotten, and be at rest,
And over our heads let the great world strive,
And the children's voices carol and call.
If your heart on the flower of remembrance is set,
There is one way to pluck it--and only one:
Dare you ask your country not to forget
A name that needs to be graved on stone?
By grief, strife, sacrifice, scorn of fame,
You may grave on the people's hearts your name,
Or your name may die, and your soul live yet
In the cause you died for--the work you have done.

Sad Story
The old house stood in silence,
no one lives there anymore.
Only memories of the past,
fill each empty room.
Once you stood so proud,
laughter rang out from your walls.
Now only cobwebs and decay inherit there.
What sad story has lead to your decline?
The lights from your windows,
don’t shine there anymore.
Only ghosts from the past,
live in every room.
Ghosts that once brought laughter.
That rang out every night,
are silent and no more
What sad story marks your fall from grace?
Once upon a time,
children played outside your door.
Now only weeds and brambles,
fall across your welcome path.
No more the smiling faces,
greet everyone at your door.
Now that sadness and neglect has fell.
What sad story do you have to tell?
Were there newlyweds,
with their hopes so high?
Did they have their hopes dashed some how,
or was it some great tragedy,
that within your walls befell?
So tragic that it made the silence fall.
What made them desert you to neglect?
What was the sad story, pray tell?

Raining On The Inside
When all goodbyes
Are said and done,
And nighttime finds you home,
Are you all right
To spend a night
Of being all alone?
And do you hide
Between the lines
Of conversations past?
A wall of words,
A heart unheard,
That hides behind a mask?
Im raining on the inside;
My heart wells up with tears that start to pour.
Im raining on the inside,
But then your cries of love break through,
And I fall in love with you once more.
When friends who care
Cant be there
To ease away my pain,
And peace of mind,
Its hard to find,
Like sunlight in the rain.
God sees my heart,
The deepest part,
Inside this lonely me,
And reachin in,
His love begins
To heal the heart in me.
Im raining on the inside;
Oh, my heart weels up with tears that start to pour.
Im raining on the inside,
But then your cries of love break through,
And I fall in love with you once more.
Sometimes were raining on the inside,
And our hearts well up with tears that start to pour.
But when were raining on the inside,
Let his cries of love break through,
Know that he loves you, once more....
Sometimes Im raining on the inside,
But then your cries of love break through,
And I fall in love with you once more.

The Witch In The Old Castle Nearby...
as you, foolish dog of my life,
my life in utter peace, a pond of less ripples,
as you, stupid dog of my life
barks at my feet, and tries to distract my own
solitude, that of the candle still in the middle
of my room, the blankets soft on my bed,
the pillows all too silent like flower petals
on a dew filled morning leaf,
as you, twitchy wicked witch
calls my name, i finally give up and
face myself, and leave you, all cracked up,
and i go inside my room and lock my door
and tell my windows, to shut you up,
do not ruin my life, do not ever attempt to do
that which creases my blankets and
stabs my pillows,
for i shall return to you and burn your
furrowed faces, dissolve you in the acids
of my test tubes,
erase you like some misspelled words,
i am a man of peace, and i am stone.

My Spooky Life
At times, my life borders on the paranormal,
witnessing things and hearing things
I cannot readily explain.
Ghosts enter and exit my life on a regular basis.
I’ve witnessed a ball of light fall from the night sky
and then return back to the heavens.
I’ve seen a house burn down until there was nothing left
and a year later I witnessed it do it again
on the anniversary of the first time.
I’ve seen a woman open a door and enter a room,
but when I went to find her moments later,
there was no one there.
I had a conversation with myself to a friend
and a week later, that conversation
took place word for word for real.
It may sound spooky,
but it brings me no fear
as not of it can hurt me
and only I can do that with fear.

Hero's Return
In a time of fear and confusion,
silence charging the air
The sunlight is gone, darkness lives on
in the heart of the dragons lair
Lost in a world of illusions
No trace of the missing ore
Stealing our souls, were out of control,
knocking at deaths door
All our beliefs fading into ashes
Heed the words that we pray
For a Heros Return our hearts still yearn
Rise and conquer, let the infidels burn
Now we charge, the battle is raging,
blood runs everywhere
Our anger is fierce, avenging the years
No time for a final prayer
Behold, the might of the hammer,
elliptical bolts of fire
Theres nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
Youre down to the wire
Somewhere out there lies a new tomorrow
for me and those who believe
For a Heros Return our hearts still yearn
Rise and conquer, let the infidels burn
For a Heros Return our hearts still yearn
Rise and conquer, let the infidels burn
Oooh
Now, Ive returned from a place far beyond
My mission I set, let it be done
We still belive in a brighter future
The dreams are ours to fulfil
For a Heros Return.

The Allegory Of The Cycle Of Doors
and so there is this door that appears before you
and you open it
and then when you enter the room
another door appears
this is the cycle of doors that keep on appearing and you
keep on opening
but the room still appears from a distance
always distant
from your eager feet to enter
you say to enter the room i must please the door
but the room moves away just the same
and the door tells you
to keep the room
you have to burn it and when the room is burned
the door finally disappears
and then both the door and the room shall tell you
now be happy
for you now have a house of your own

As long as time is not pressing one does not burn incense; when it becomes urgent one kisses the feet of Buddha.
Life Erupting...
i walk the hymn of life erupting,
the urine prayers, the sweat, the pus.
the gutteral cry of need evolving,
the phlegm of god, the bodies rotting.
the snow wiped faces
and the naked earth.
in constant rhythm with hunger's howl,
the candle flame, the silenced tongue.
the whisper shake, of shadows wanting,
nails, blocks, and colored glass.
the crippled dance,
and the distant drums.
who am i? i am you!
the second son of an unknown father.
born in an alley neath a starless sky,
my feet stink of human,
my eyes lit with desire...
talk to me when words are done!
the wet birthed babe,
the hot blood of giving.
the life caved in,
the searh for nipple.
the whiskey breath,
the cigarette memory,
the love torn chest,
the beak plucked heart.
the identity of the unknown soldier
who died in the ashes, unheard, unseen.
the hands that built with determined faith,
with common trust and common hope...
the weeping beneath the silence,
the silence beyond the grave....
talk to me when words are done!

Magdalene
Magdalene, are you thinking of the gentle man
Who turned your life around
Magdalene. did he leave you any reason to go on
Magdalene, does it make it any better
That you know he really loved you
Magdalene, all your sins have been forgiven, and hes gone.
Magdalene, did he give you back the freedom
To be something you believe in
Magdalene, are you strong enough to make it on your own
Magdalene, I believe he loved you deeper
Than you ever dreamed of loving
Magdalene, and nobody ever left you so alone.
Oh, magdalene ...
Magdalene, are the shadows in the stillness
Of the evening full of tears
Do you wonder how much sorrow you can hold
Are you haunted by the ghost of something
Gone but not forgotten
Will it fill the empty silence when youre old.
Magdalene, are you thinking of the gentle man
Who turned your life around
Magdalene. did he leave you any reason to go on
Magdalene, I believe he loved you deeper
Than you ever dreamed of loving
Magdalene, all your sins have been forgiven, and hes gone.

Without Hope Of Redemption....
it is then that we dance,
sitting hunched in silent contemplation...
without moving a finger,
perhaps it is in the eyes.
as leaves most certainly dance,
turning color awaiting the fall.
and old glass bottles turned on their side,
are filled with something we cannot fathom.
it seems saviors come and go,
while detours become some kind of destiny.
the only scriptures i know curl from chimneys,
to haunt the wings of nameless birds.
i am not alone, small creatures make good companions.
there are things they know that need no definition.
i sleep with mountains no face has seen,
and know well the scent of their longing.
do you love me, dare i ask?
my heart mows the grass beside your grave.
while cattle graze on silent hope,
and my fingers walk the grain of weathered oaks.
as hunger stands with a shovel and an axe,
and time pays the cost of heartbeat.
i love you, i do dare say...
without hope of redemption!

Sweet aroma of love
The room was crowded, but not deterred
she was determined to reach her Lord.
With tears of repentance from her eyes
she washed Jesus feet to their surprise.
Showing such tenderness and loving care
she then dried His feet with her long hair
and from the jar which she opened wide
took out the sweet perfume from inside.
The room was filled with aroma sweet
as she rubbed the ointment over His feet.
Such acts of love though misunderstood
did not pass unnoticed by her Lord.
**********
What extravagant love Mary showed
and upon the Lord Jesus bestowed.
I wish that I could as loving be
so fearless and unrestrained as she.
Written after reading Luke 7: 36-47
Everybody’s Breath
In this fragile life,
I burn candles
In the incense room.
I utter prayers
In secret places
For gentle souls.
I return with my memories
To joyful times
And forget unpleasant thoughts.
There will be coffins
To gaze into
And one in which to lie,
But I cherish everybody’s breath
And know we’ve gained more in living
Than we’ll ever lose in death.

3 Kisses
1 The kiss of betrayal
Thirty pieces of silver paid for a kiss!
The price to betray You was no more than this.
For when Judas came with an armed mob that day
he was so determined his Lord to betray.
Gazing into Your face as Your eyes met his
he gave you that treacherous betrayal kiss.
A dastardly deed was done that awful day
handing You to the mob he went on his way.
No forgiveness was sought by this wretched soul.
No blood applied to cleanse and to make him whole.
Throwing the coins into the temple he left
to hang himself because he felt so bereft.
2. The kiss of love
Praise God that a kiss does not have to betray
but acts of love and devotion can display.
This poor woman was so determined and showed
her gratitude and the debt of love she owed.
The room was crowded but she was not deterred
she just wanted to reach out and touch her Lord.
With tears of repentance flowing from her eyes
she kept kissing Jesus' feet to their surprise.
Showing her tenderness and deep loving care
she then kept drying His feet with her long hair.
From the alabaster jar which she opened wide
she took out the sweet perfume contained inside.
The room instantly filled with aroma sweet
as she rubbed the perfume onto Jesus' feet.
Such acts of love though often misunderstood
did not pass unnoticed by Jesus her Lord.
3. The kiss of God
When You created the first man dear Lord
You did not do it by just speaking the word.
Instead You stooped down kneeling upon the ground
and gathered the dust of earth into a mound.
Knitting the atoms of man together there
forming him by Your tender loving care.
Then, wonder of all wonders, Your lips met his
and that man of clay came alive with Your kiss.
The life giving kiss God gave Adam that day
is still available to mankind today.
For justice and mercy kissed at Calvary
when God laid down His life for both you and me.
Fall At Your Feet
Im really close tonight
And I feel like Im moving inside her
Lying in the dark
And I think that Im beginning to know her
Let it go
Ill be there when you call
And whenever I fall at your feet
You let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain
Youre hiding from me now
Theres something in the way that youre talking
Words dont sound right
But I hear them all moving inside you, go
Ill be waiting when you call
Hey and whenever I fall at your feet
Wont you let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain
The finger of blame has turned upon itself
And Im more than willing to offer myself
Do you want my presence or need my help
Who knows where that might lead
I fall
Whenever I fall at your feet
Would you let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I fall, ever I fall

In Prayer
in prayer you kneel you make your pleas
you signify
your lowliness in supplication
you behave
like a slave
you mumble you juggle your words
choppy sometimes as you are in deep sorrow
in hunger in thirst
in dire need of comfort
asking wanting that your prayers
be granted
you genuflect to a certain extent
you are crying
you are silent
yet you are so confused and crowded
you need your prayers to be answered
at once
the soonest
you are dying
or someone you love is dying out there
you want to live
you want the other you love to live some years
you want to be together
hence your prayers
some tears fall on the floors now wet and salty
a flood of tears
a rush of a thousand words in supplication
you fall on the floor
face down the earth hands stretching body flat and so tired
i watch you and i pity you and if i were God myself i could have
heard and granted all our prayers
the prayer room is so silent
it is cold tonight and i am too, so confused hearing nothing
outside a storm is raging
the rain so strong like the wind is coming
i close the door and the windows so there may still be silence
so our prayers may be heard
who knows? maybe, maybe, who knows? we must still continue....

Window
If you have a window,
In your little dark room,
Four walls can't bind you,
The ray of the sun,
Will jostle, willingly,
To enter into your tiny world.
The sky will peep into,
To get you away from the shadow.
A singing bird will sing,
Beside it, to tinge your,
Mind with the melody.....
Air will pass thru it,
Bearing the fragrance of
The first blooming rose.
The window will show you,
The road to the unknown...
The horizon where, the
Earth and the sky embrace,
Each other, calling you,
To be out, out there,
To make the stars guide,
The sky, your philosopher,
And the sun, your friend.
If you have a window,
Keep it open and it will,
Give you the address of,
The unknown, unexplored paths.

Love Defiled
spirits wail in the napalm night,
bodies without faces walk deserted streets.
dreams whisper from cardboard boxes,
ants walk with angel's feet.
the sound of mouth's stricken,
deeper than just need.
the soul of fire shudders,
while glass eyed leeches feed.
history written with grave cost,
we are what we have done.
while outside the door anger lurks,
and the bullet seeks the gun!
gods? i think not....
even demons fear to tread.
the hand takes from its own heart,
and leaves the hunger for dead.
bells ring with hollow haunt,
fear drives the nails in the cross.
even tears of blood cannot repair,
what love defiled leaves as loss!

Buddha Within....
Buddha's tears...
on the faces of every
hungry child in the world.
Buddha's emptiness,
in the hearts of every
person who has no home.
Buddha's sorrow,
in the eyes of every
victim of the bombings.
Buddha's silence,
at the roar of every
religious fanatic.
Buddha's compassion,
in the dirt of every
human being fallen.
Buddha's forgiveness,
in the anger of every
person driven by prejudice.
Buddha within,
seeks to evolve!
Buddha within,
just to be!
Buddha within,
already there.
Buddha within,
always has been!
