The biggest challenge for everybody to realize out there is that we're in a very complicated business world and that were all under one umbrella and it's very challenging for everybody to figure out where the priorities lie and where the loyalties lie.

Umbrella Man
When the sun just refuses to shine on through
And its cats and doggies all over you
You need some protection so what do you do
See the umbrella man
Go and see the umbrella man
When its raining - umbrella man, umbrella man
You can see him when its sunny, when the rain comes down
You ought to find a corner where hes always found
A reflection in a puddle, just turn around
To see the umbrella man
Go and see the umbrella man
When its raining - umbrella man, umbrella man
There are some things in life on which you can depend
Dont try to guess when itll rain again
You dont have to worry cause youve got a friend
Come see the umbrella man
I will be your umbrella man
When its raining - umbrella man
Go and see the umbrella man
Dont forget the umbrella man
When its raining - umbrella man
I will be your umbrella man, umbrella man

The Faith of Baha'i
We cling to multiple identities;
Such identities impel us to show
Loyalties based on identities.
Multi-loyalties bring conflict in us.
Loyalties propel us to side or fight.
Religions and politics take much toll.
Language and territories are not behind.
Racial identities still raise their heads.
Leave identities; leave loyalties.
Both tell that you are led by prejudices.
A world community formed without them
Is what Baha'u'lla'h preached as his faith.

So Complicated
So complicated, so complicated
Just wanna blow my horn
So complicated, so complicated
Just wanna know the score
Are you telling me that everythings fine
When I cant even tie my shoes
Better get into a new frame of mind
When I dont have to think about the business no more
'cause I just wanna blow my horn
The telephone is ringing out
But it dont understand my blues
And how much longer will it take
Until they get the news
The weather man said it was good
He forecast it was truly great
So if you change your train of thought
You know it wont be late
Too complicated, too complicated
You know this crazy scene
Too complicated, too complicated
No one says what they mean
Are you telling me that everythings fine
When I cant even tie my shoes
Better get into a new frame of mind
When I dont have to think about the business no more
'cause I just wanna blow my horn.

Complicated Melody
If he were a color
Hed be a deep dark forrest green
If he were a car
Hed be a long stretch limousine
With room for all of humanity inside
Cause he is so giving
And he is so wise
If he were a number
Hed be a five cause he has such a brilliant mind
If he were an animal
Hed be an ass cause hes so stubborn sometime
But if he were a song
Hed be a complicated melody
That complicated fellow he
I almost can not sing it on key
But he means the world to me
If he were a building
Hed be a beautiful cathedral
Cause hes so traditionally spiritual
If he were a dance
Hed be complicated like the tango
Exotic like a mango
But if he were a song
Hed be a complicated melody
That complicated fellow he
I almost can not sing it on key
But he means the world to me
He aint the reason for the sun and the moon
He is just the reason for this here tune
Cause he means the world to me (ooh ooh)
Said he means the world to me
Me me me yeah
He means the world to me yeah
Complicated melody that complicated fellow he
Hes a complicated melody
I almost can not sing it on key

Complicated
How long can you hold out against me
How long can you resist to kiss me
'Cause you know you want to
You know I want to
I know I want to
You know you want to
But you can't let this be the reason for a session of love
You're so complicated and I can't figure you out
You're just so complicated in every one of your ways
As I've often stated
Girl, I'm not messing you about
You're just so somplicated in every one of your displays
How long must I pretend to like you
When it's so plain to see I love you
'Cause I want to have you
I want to hold you
I want to always be there for you
So please don't be frightened by the strength with which
I'm holding your heart
You're so complicated and I can't figure you out
You're just so complicated in every one of your ways
As I've often stated
Girl, I'm not messing you about
You're just so somplicated in every one of your displays

The greatest challenge I think is adjusting to not playing baseball. The reason for that is I had to come out of baseball and come into the business world, not being a college graduate, not being educated to come into the business world the way I should have.

An umbrella tree
As an umbrella without an umbrella,
A tree stands under the Sun all the day,
Serving you and me as an umbrella.
Giving oxygen and sucking poison,
A tree clears the air for us to breathe.
Offering its all parts to all animals,
Does it demand anything in return?
With no shield to defend with, nor a sword
To offend with, it stands for our mercy.
We are indebted to plants much more than
To animals and humans for our lease.
To kill it is to murder it, a crime.
To be ungrateful to it is a sin.
To dig your own grave is the biggest fun.
Be a tree for each house, planted and grown.
Be a tree for each child, to grow along.
Things made of wood be gone out of demand,
With carpenters rehabilitated.
New roads be cut with pits made for trees.
Like orphanage, stray trees may get a home.
Youngsters, unless you resolve it with faith,
The world to the future will have no mirth.

I think one of the most difficult challenges in show business is the challenge of longevity and to constantly realize and reveal what's already been there - like doing stage and singing and dancing in New York. I haven't been that far out of my comfort zone in a while.

Complicated Suicide
Another Complicated Suicide,
it all went according to plan.
Another Complicated Suicide,
will be the one that killed me.
The one that i tried to cut myself down,
i belong to heaven.
The one that I will do over again,
I will be gone for good.
Another Complicated Suicide,
another one that failed.
Another Complicated Suicide,
and it is the same old shit.
Tried to cut myself to die,
i guess it is not my time.
Same old trip,
that did not work.
Another Complicated Suicide,
Man, I did not do it right or something.
Another one of my stupid suicide's,
Why am i still alive.

Simply Complicated
When you find out things about yourself
that you hadn't thought to know.
When your grandma calls
and books you on the Jerry Springer show.
And you find out you and your wife for ten years,
just might be related
Brother, life's not over,
it's just simply complicated.
There's other situations
that might challenge you, I guess
When your daughter tries out for the footbal team
and your son tries on her dress
And you start to think that the devil's in charge
of how you're situated.
Life is still worth livin
It's just simply complicated.
Life is complicated with its
ifs and ands and buts.
It's alright to be crazy,
just don't let it drive you nuts!
My daughter wants to go on dates,
I think I'll let her go.
But she better not be movin'
at the movin' picture show.
Her stops by all those honky tonks
and getin' aviated
aint it all a caution?
Its just simply complicated.
Now I'm havin a big problem
with my present-day career
My ship, she has a rudder
but I don't know where to steer.
Am I country, pop or rock-and-roll?
I know they are related.
I'll just let you be the judge.
It's simply complicated.
Life is complicated with its
ifs and ands and buts.
It's alright to be crazy,
just don't let it drive you nuts!

Challenge
Something obsessed...
That has to be possessed.
And It can not be obtained too easily,
Or it will quickly be left like the rest!
It has to be tested
To ensure it's complex.
There has to be a struggle to get it...
Or it becomes a challenge,
Considered not the best one done
To test and satisfy as one can get!
These things are tricky to predict and forget!
But when a challenge comes...
And there's possible fun attached,
That's the one that traps!
And one enjoys!
Be about 'your' business...
And the challenge you choose,
Will be the one you can say you've won!
With no inner 'blues' to share with anyone.

If the material is challenging, it forces you to challenge yourself when handling it.
Detainee policy in this war is hard, it's complicated, but we must get it right. We would be better off as a nation if we could close Gitmo safely and start a new prison that he could use that the world would see as a better way to doing business.
