For years this dusty track trekked
Most times on empty stomach
But always full of enthusiasm
Flowing from pride and hope
The pride of being a scholar
The hope of becoming a giant
Like the city heavy weights
We had cause to make it happen
For years their trivial takings exhausted
Most times own pleasure forfeited
But always beaming with conviction
Emanating from pride and hope
The pride of being a responsible parent
The hope of breeding a star
Like the few celebrities around
They had ground to make it happen
For years we studied seriously
Most times having sleepless nights
Always pushed by conviction and awareness
The conviction that education is key to success
Awareness of the fact, very obvious
Success stems from hard work
Persistence, passion and poise
These weapons made it happen
For many years our dreams kept alive
Fuelled by unwavering hope
Hope of future bright
Future void of this poverty, blight
Equipped with tool to change families’ plight
Ushering comfort and self-esteem to parents
Parents who extracted wealth from soil
To invest in our education
To ensure we reached our destination

I was never in a league of noble gentlemen
To whom she'd cast polite and flitting smiles,
Only distant hope and dying dreams for me!
Or perhaps descent into a game of wiles
To give a chance of sipping wine on heady nights
With her angelic presence to declare;

I hope things are well with us;

Keeping Hope Alive!
A person without hope is inwardly dead,
keeping hope alive.
There's nothing,
nothing,
that anyone has ever done
without the power of hope.
Hope is always about
a desire for something
you don't have.
If you can't imagine it,
you don't hope for it.
Hope is that thing
that keeps us going
and keeps us believing
in our potentiality
when you loose hope,
you get depressed, and when you lose
enough hope,
you die.
Hope beyond hope.
A hope that can keep you going
when you can't find a reason.
Hope is a state of heart that
always keeps you positive.
When we are without hope,
I think we erect a wall
around ourselves.
The economy is limping,
benefits are at risk,
the national mood is bleak,
collective depression,
egoism,
greed
and self-righteousness.
The future isn't bright,
and the solution isn't visible.
Hope has diminished,
especially around business people.
They are angry and frustrated.
There's a lack of confidence
in what can be done,
there's a sense of loss
of social justice,
and this goes deep
into the soul of America.
The government has not justified
in the public's eyes,
the need to reform system
and how far this reform goes.
American people pride themselves
on integrity and fairness.

Never Give Up On Hope
Never give up on hope never give up who knows what tomorrow will bring
Keep on hoping for a happier future for hope is a marvellous thing
Lady luck she may smile on you good things come to those who wait
Who knows in the not distant future you may have cause to celebrate
A first division win in tattslotto or some other unexpected windfall
Life does have it's good and it's hard times and it's good and bad memories to recall
Never give up on hope always keep on hoping your good times for you may be ahead
You cannot hold much hope for the future if hope in you is all but dead
If you succumb to feelings of negativity the universe out there you do tell
That you are happy with the hard life and you accept an earthly hell

When stars dim up in the sky
When things seem so hard to try
When raging sea billows roll
When all seems bad and all seems cold
When giving up seems to become your goal
When stale bread is the only meal
When all options fail and there's more with to deal
Faith and Hope can make your wounds heal
Faith is the belief that it would happen
