I'm not obsessed with being in the public eye. It's not my job to impress people - I'm really just a working actress and I like to pick projects and do things that really inspire me.

Actress
Some day I'm going to grow up
And be every man's dream
Some day I'm going to grow up
And forget this sad little me
I'm going to shine in the spotlight
Wear sexy clothes
Be somebody everybody wants to meet
And no one ever really knows
No one will ever know me
I'm an actress through and through
And to my bones
I'm an actress through and through
And to my bones
Critics will adore me
At least they will at first
But you see I already know this
So it can't never really hurt
And if it does, I'm an actress
I'll play it nonchalant
In the total scheme of things it's insignificant
(sure I can take the knocks)
Cause I'm an actress through and through
And to my bones
I'm an actress through and through
And to my bones
I may not be that pretty now
But who's the referee
Standards of beauty
Will be redefined because of me
And then they'll be the scandals
Everywhere my name
Men will jump from balconies
And I'll just shrug and take the blame
(yeah, they'll say I died for love)
Cause I'm an actress through and through
And to my bones
Well, I'm an actress through and through
And to my bones
My acceptance speech will be a milestone
Never will such a star
Have ever graced the microphone
And of course I'll thank my agent
The way they always do
Though I could have done it without him
And that goes for the Academy too
And the makeup people and the lighting designers and everybody else
Cause I'm an actress throughand through
And to my bones
I'm an actress through and through
And to my bones
I'm an actress yeah, yeah, yeah
I'll be gracious to the lesser stars
And generous to the unknowns
And if another actress threatens
My position on the throne
Well, I don't know exactly what I'll do
I don't exactly know
But I know that it could turn into
One of my most poignant roles
Everyone will have their handkerchiefs out
And they'll have to leave the theater early
And then they'll go home
And what'll they do?
They'll have a big glass of alcohol
Cause I'm an actress through and through
And to my bones
And if I make it to the top I won't be overthrown
I'm an actress ah, yeah, yeah

I'm so happy in the projects that I'm able to make, to be involved in projects like this. This isn't always where it was at for me, I started working when I was a kid. I'm just a different person now, I'm 30. I started working when I was 11 and it's a different ballgame.

They are damn good projects - excellent projects. That goes for all the projects up there. You know some people make fun of people who speak a foreign language, and dumb people criticize something they do not understand, and that is what is going on up there - God damn it!

People forget what it's like to be a child. When you're a child actress, people sometimes regress into being obnoxious and patronizing. But there's no reason to dumb things down just because you're working with kids.

People so far have been very fond of the Robert Altman movie, as I am, and when one things goes well it shines light on your other projects and now I seem to have a number of projects that are moving forward.

There Is No Such Thing As Writer's Block
i am part of the
lousy writers' club
restless people
with nothing to do
but write
hopeless cases
of paranoia
biting their pens
speeding their fingers
on the keys
without much thought
whether
people believe in their
causes
we are part of this
useless endeavor
the objective of which
is only to express
and not really to impress
i am part of the lousy people
our business is to write and write
and writer's block is
a crime
we write not really to impress
but only to express
we are depressed
we are oppressed
we are obsessed
to a fly and wasp and
termites and trite
we are not afraid of our
own self infected cliches.

People can get obsessed with romance, they can get obsessed with political paranoia, they can get obsessed with horror. It's isn't the fault of the subject matter that creates the obsession, I don't think.

Values
Sometimes we do things
hoping to succeed
only to impress someone
to make them like us more,
but in our haste to impress
we are flawed by mistakes
and success eludes us
at every turn of the road.
Then when those we wanted to impress
fade out of our lives
and we look back
at what we have done
we realise we don’t
need to have to impress anymore.
We then start to do things
for ourselves
and slowly our success
is finally realised.

I have an older sister named Haley and she wanted to be an actress. So I wanted to be an actress. It's really funny the way that some people don't give kids enough credit for like really being driven, and really wanting to do things so badly.

Am I obsessed with death?
Stroking a head of a snake
Feeling a tiger’s breath
Am I obsessed with death?
Am I obsessed with death?
Daydreaming while crossing a street
of life that I want to have
Am I obsessed with death?
Am I obsessed with death?
When shit start hitting fans
at results I will quietly laugh
Am I obsessed with death?
Am I obsessed with death?
Laying sick on a bed of death
I will cling to what I still have
I simply enjoy the life
Don’t care about death

Merit is not correctly measured.
An actress decries her fellow artist in secret.
A leader criticizes his rival in public.
A painter probes his fellow painters’.
But the public admire theirs without reservation.

Get going, impress her
forget humility
work yourself
red, black, white,
blue, to impress
to go places
take a lesson
from the flowers
the best ones
land themselves
on fair ladies' laps
royal palaces and
religious altars
walk around
the cemetery
on all souls' day -
even the dead
people reckon
crave for things
that really impress them!

Actress, Model...
Dear Mom
I'm dating an actress
And I'm just writing to let you know
Why I'm so far from home
I followed her to Stella Adler
A method man was what she was after
She must have seen them on TV
She's my actress model dancer whatever
I've been watching you
I've been wanting you
Actress model dancer whatever
You're so over there
You're so everywhere
I met her over a cigarette
And though I don't really know her yet
I could see she sees something in me
A thousand bucks won't pay the rent
And I don't know where the money's spent
But it shows Lord cause nothing's free
She's my actress model dancer whatever
I've been watching you
I've been wanting you
Actress model dancer whatever
You're so over there
You're so everywhere
She made a promise
she'd never act with me now
But I saw her move her lips
They were reading scripts
She made a promise
she'd never act with me now
And I saw her move her lips
Line please line please
Dear Mom
I'm dating an actress
And I'm just writing to let you know who who
Actress model dancer whatever
I've been watching you
I've been wanting you
Actress model dancer whatever
You're so over there
You're so everywhere
Dear Mom
I'm dating an actress
Dear Mom
I'm dating an actress
Now I'm an actor too
