Womanhood
She must be honest, both in thought and deed,
Of generous impulse, and above all greed;
Not seeking praise, or place, or power, or pelf,
But life’s best blessings for her higher self,
Which means the best for all.
She must have faith,
To make good friends of Trouble, Pain, and Death,
And understand their message.
She should be
As redolent with tender sympathy
As a rose is with fragrance.
Cheerfulness
Should be her mantle, even though her dress
May be of Sorrow’s weaving.
On her face
A loyal nature leaves its seal of grace,
And chastity is in her atmosphere.
Not that chill chastity which seems austere
(Like untrod snow-peaks, lovely to behold
Till once attained – then barren, loveless, cold):
But the white flame that feeds upon the soul
And lights the pathway to a peaceful goal.
A sense of humour, and a touch of mirth,
To brighten up the shadowy spots of earth;
And pride that passes evil – choosing good.
All these unite in perfect womanhood.

Integrity
Immortal life is something to be earned,
By slow, self-conquest, comradeship with pain,
And patient seeking after higher truths.
We cannot follow our own wayward wills
And feed our baser appetites and give
Loose reins to foolish tempers, year on year,
And then cry, 'Lord, forgive me, I believe --'
And straightway bathe in glory. Men must learn
God's system is too great a thing for that;
The spark divine dwells in each soul, and we
Can fan it to a steady flame of light,
Whose lustre guilds the pathway of the tomb
And shines on through eternity, or else
Neglect it till it simmers down to death
And leaves us but the darkness of the grave.
Each conquered passion feeds the living flame;
Each well-borne sorrow is a step toward God.
Faith cannot rescue, and no blood redeem
The soul that will not reason and resolve.
Lean on thyself, yet prop thyself with prayer,
For these are spirits, messengers of light,
Who come at call and fortify thy strength,
Make friends with thee and with thine inner self,
Cast out all envy, bitterness, and hate.
And keep the mind's fair tabernacle pure;
Shake hands with Pain, give greeting unto Grief,
Those angels in disguise and thy glad soul,
From light to light from star to shining star,
Shall climb and claim blest immortality.'

Take Me To That Place
Oh take me to that place where the sun never sets
and the warmth of your smile mind never forgets.
Where the light from your eyes kindles a secret fire in my soul
as the love hidden there begins to reach out towards life's goal
and how much one does appreciate of your grace and pleasure
when knowing as I do that you hold the key to love's treasure.
Oh take me to that place where the sun does always shine
and the fragrance of your love intoxicates like good wine.
Where the bliss of your presence removes all sorrow from the heart
as tears of joy well up from within acknowledging we're never apart
and the words that you do speak are heard and lodged within the mind
when it is thinking of you only wondering why and how you're so kind.
Oh take me to that place where no darkness ever comes
and the glory of your being illuminates like a million suns.
Where everything is perceived being perfect because it really is
as the hidden beauty in all of nature is thus revealed to be of this
and the atmosphere around you is so peaceful everywhere
when the working mind has gone no troubles remain there.
Oh take me to that place where there is always light
and the stars seen in that sky are so invisibly bright.
Where all division into form does not exist or is known
as the illusion of separation like a mist away has blown
and the unity of all life is the permanent true vision of the eyes
when seeing the all pervading Spirit there can be no compromise.
Oh take me to that place where the source of elusive light is in being
and the days of the past, present or future only in ignorance are seen.
Where there is no birth or death and shadows never actually fall
as they do in duality which is false and hiding Reality behind it all
and the essence of Your being is the only underlying eternal existence
when living in accordance with Thy will all is a harmonious subsistence.
Oh take me to that place which is the abode of peace within
and a kingdom of the soul about which all true religions sing.
Where one comes face to face with God and experiences ecstasy
as there isn't any greater happiness that can overcome all misery
and the meaning of all life is known after achieving that goal
when realising the divine nature of which an image is our soul.
Oh take me to that place where we belong or should all really be
and the feeling of oneness with all creatures is just right for me.
Where there is no beginning or ending in the everlasting now
as the world of name and form exists only in illusion somehow
and all that we could ever hope to get we have already secretly got
when experiencing our true infinite nature all the universe is our lot.
Oh take me to that place to which the mind without light cannot go
and it's only by intuition that what's beyond the mind one can know.
Where infinite love, bliss, power and wisdom are always residing
as ever ripe fruit on a tree hang for those people who're desiring
and whom by Thy grace and blessing have dissolved all their ignorance
when doing what You tell them to do implicitly trusting their obedience.
Oh take me to that place which is free from all worry and fear
and the light of knowledge shines in the mind bright and clear.
Where there is no lust, greed or anger and neither any hunger nor pain
as these are all to do with the lower self which has passed away in vain
and actions performed aren't binding being for the ultimate good of all
when having supreme faith in oneself and God the ideal is had for sure.
Oh take me to that place which is at the end of the long weary road
and life's being is Light Effulgent without any dark or unknown load.
Where whatever is in Reality is what one really forever will be
as an Eternal consciousness in which nothing but Itself can see
and in which everything evolves and dissolves in its own time and space
when existing as One without a second does there can't be another place.

A Cool Atmosphere Of Nature!
Hot day transforming into cool atmosphere by clouds
Makes it look winter continuation even after the season!
Concentration of winter though diluted the chill is there
Making setting of next season slow due to natural change.
Still heavy rain with floods in some parts of the world,
Snow accumulation in some parts and hot season beginning
Nature never relents to man’s exploitation very easily ever
Till everyone understands and respects Nature with care!
Reminds it that under the mercy of nature everything functions
And nothing can change the dictum whatever be man’s skill
To create a modern world of technology against Nature ever!
To have a good end means followed should also be good;
Bad end nobody likes indeed though means followed is bad;
Nature never allows greed to excel natural order by any means!

A Higher Power Watches
A Higher Power Watches
Who deliberately causes
The innocent to flout
The sweet to become bitter
The peaceful to become upset.
A Higher Power Watches
People who provoke
The good to do evil.
To speak unkind
To deceive to live unclean.
A Higher Power Watches
How the family behaves
How friends are engaged
Or how who ever interrupts
Or encourages a Life.
A Higher Power Watches
Consciously every move.
Inspirations and righteousness
Cleanliness and courage
Ameliorations and aspirations.
A Higher Power Watches
What every insight sees.
Every intellectual knowing
Every attitude existing
What life's breath blows.
A Higher Power Watches
Every humilation
Every honesty and sincerity
Every forgiveness
And every loving thought.

Peace
Peace is white
White be, a dove, a flag
High snow, higher clouds, higher more twinklings
White is tranquil, honarable, reliable, honest and decent
But white is dubious too
As the sparklings dotted in black sky
And black is immoral, bad, evil and sorrow
Yet black is utile too
Like these writings on peaceful white
White is the most sought
As wite is peace disliking conflicts
Yet peace is stuck with wars 'cause
Providence eventuates agitating criminal energy
Beyond love and hate, pain and pleasure
Hidden in is peace special
An exclusive providence unknowing to create evil

Chastity, a myth
A prey of the pursuit
Or a pawn of the assault
Though one may fall,
The one is not unchaste.
A victim of the molestation
Or a ruin of the rape
Though one is made,
The one is not unchaste.
A model, a nude
Or love embrace on stage,
Though one may do,
The one is not unchaste.
Enough to be a coquette,
No need of adultery,
One practices infidelity.
Tumbles down the chastity.
Never in nakedness,
Never in sexy touch,
But only secret relation,
Chastity is tarnished.
Seduction of mind,
Followed or not by
Seduction of body
Tells upon ones chastity.
Whoever lived
That has lived not
Without the seduction of mind?
Then where is the chastity?
Chastity is a myth
Without a pith.

Fifteen Million
Earth reels to cold night
yet everything
stays
the same.
I wait for morning
when grey light
might brighten
somber skies.
Another day’s lies.
I don’t understand
my sadness,
for my life is good,
full of love and rich in faith.
So why do these clouds
hold me fast
in this dark place?
I observe winter’s brutal grip
squeeze tender spring leaves
and curse with frost new-flowering trees.
I understand how the wading white bird
startled by blare of a frantic train
might die from panic
where she stands.
But mostly I see
how ruin fills my nation’s streets
with yard-signs
foreclosing
on fifteen million
dreams.

Engraved marble
Why can’t I propagate my faith?
Why m I afraid of sure death
Who can lead me to real religion?
Professors, preachers or so called villains
I find my almighty always around
Bells ring and make me sound
I forget all bitterness and good sense prevail
All propaganda comes to an end and fail
I shall not be carried away by any trick
Even though they torture me with any stick
I shall believe him an his peaceful message
I shall have to prove my worth till the end of an age
No one may remember me by any faith
They may even hesitate to lay wreath
I shall be laid to rest by unknown people
I shall lay here peacefully without any trouble
I wish to put engraved marble near by
People may read the message and try
Who is this unfortunate soul trying to tell?
Life is not worth if we try to prove it as hell
I see nothing special in any religion
Even though they are prevalent in most of the regions
Each one is dominant in belief and conviction
Yes there is love lost and frictions
Peace may evade till you come clear
You will live amidst uncertainty and fear
No religion may guarantees you for safe conduct
They lack moral courage and power to instruct
I shall love to be buried live
Rather face fury and witness nose dive
Fall in moral values and humanity at low ebb
What shall I engrave “Don’t come again and try to stab”?

Sorrow and Guilt
Sorrow is evil,
Sorrow is blind,
I once was happy,
Now I have no mind,
Depressed and lonely,
Here I lay,
I feel the guilt,
Till the end of day,
Every night,
Is an endless jail,
I lay down thinking,
I deserve to be nailed,
Because of sorrow,
I want to die,
I think about it,
Till morning nigh,
Friends have been torn away,
All my love,
Has been stolen from me,
From a once peaceful dove,
It may have had its reasons,
But my heart now has a hole,
I can't seem to find the piece,
So now I have my goal,
A goal that seems absurd,
But to me it's all I've got,
I try not to think about it,
But I think quite allot,
My goal is to live,
Live until I die,
And not kill myself,
Because then my family would lie,
They'd lie and say I loved life,
It's not true AT ALL,
To me life sucks,
I just want to fall!

The Flower.
I.
The flower in its own scent breathes till it dies
As if the scent its very birth-breath were
(As love is life's) which, while it occupies
Like a mesmeric light the living air,
Feeds every portion of the tender hue
In which it manifests so subtly fair
The faery form, which as in a dream grew
Out of the dark earth with ethereal power
Quickening its limbs, as those of a babe who
Draws from its mother's life a vital dower
Of warmth and beauty, thrilling breast and brain
Till it too comes to birth — a perfect flower
With its own aura, like a subtle strain
Which must vibrate to every joy and pain.
II.
The seeing eye and hearing ear are fed
With nature's nurture, and the mind imbues
Earth and all things within it, even the dead,
With its own sap that with thought's mystic hues
Bourgeons in every waking hour, and e'en
When sleep does all the inner life transfuse
With its own radiance, and the unseen
Becomes a part of us too, as we were
Back in some other sphere where we had been
Before the new thought breathed in the old air,
And the new body budded into birth,
Making us all that we are now who bear
The signs in us of all the woe and mirth
That came and has gone on with man on earth.
III.
Far back in the unstoried past, whose rune
No sage has ciphered and no bard has sung,
In the beginning of the sun and moon
When e'en the oldest hill was very young —
Ah! then perchance the seed that was us first
Took root in th' mystic soil whence we have (Unclear
Under the very hand of God, and burst
Into the secret being it has had,
All through the enchanted aeons strangely nursed
From death to life between the good and bad;
E'en as it were a spirit-germ that grew
By some mysterious process, and was clad
E'en like the flowers with varying form and hue,
Till it ends in what all may end in too!

The Evil I See In Others
The evil I see in others in my own self I see
And the so called evil people are no less evil than me
'Tis not my place to judge others leave the Law take it's course
Than us mere living mortals there is some far greater force.
Look at the power of Nature no greater force than she
She claims all living creatures yet of guilt she is free
None ever say she's evil what's evil anyway?
The words of good and evil just words that people say
About those they see as good or evil others we like to pigeon hole
Have I right to condemn others when there's darkness in my soul
I'm only good and evil come tell me what are you
Since you tell me that you have a God but to your own self are you true?
For a callous act of one individual we condemn an entire race
And people are judged by their postal address and the colour of their face
We talk of love and harmony whilst war we do embrace
By making yourself a better person you'll make the World to live in a better place.
The evil I see in others in my own self I see
But you there Mr Perfect of all sin are you free?
You say that one is evil leave that person alone
You are not one that's free of taint so you should not cast the stone.

Little Henry
Air -- "Minnie Lee"
Oh! come listen to my story
Of a little infant child --
His spirit is in glory --
It has left us for a while.
Death has robbed us of our Henry,
He is with our Savior now,
Where there is no pain or sorrow
Comes to cloud his little brow.
CHORUS:
God has took their little treasure,
And his name I'll tell you now,
He has gone from earth forever,
Their little Charles Henry House.
His cheeks were red as roses,
And his eyes were black as coals,
His little lips were red as rubies,
And his little hair it curled.
Oh, they called him little Charley,
He was full of joyful mirth --
Now his little form is lying
'Neath the cold and silent earth.
It was the eleventh of December,
On a cold and windy day,
Just at the close of evening,
When the sunlight fades away;
Little Henry he was dying,
In his little crib he lay,
With soft winds round him sighing
From the morn till close of day.
Parents, brothers, sisters weeping,
For their cup of sorrow's full,
And his little playthings keeping,
That he thought so beautiful --
Tears from parents' eyes were starting
For their little loving one.
Oh! how painful was the parting
From their little infant son.
Oh! how often have they kissed him,
And caressed his little brow --
To his little voice have listened,
But his place is vacant now.
They called him little Charley,
And his loving name they called,
But they could not keep their darling
From the loving Savior's call.
But they must now cease their mourning,
His little soul is at rest,
Where there can no storms of trouble
Roll across his peaceful breast.
Now his little form is sleeping
In the cold and silent tomb,
And his friends are left a weeping,
In his dear and loving home.
It was the eleventh of December,
Eighteen seventy was the year,
Kind friends will all remember --
Silently let fall a tear.
But we must not trouble borrow,
For the God of heaven is just;
No one knows a parent's sorrow,
Till a child some friend have lost.

Be Not Dismayed
Be not dismayed, be not dismayed when death
Sets its white seal upon some worshipped face.
Poor human nature for a little space
Must suffer anguish, when that last drawn breath
Leaves such long silence; but let not thy faith
Fail for a moment in God's boundless grace.
But know, oh know, He has prepared a place
Fairer for our dear dead than worlds beneath,
Yet not beneath; for those entrancing spheres
Surround our earth as seas a barren isle.
Ours is the region of eternal fears;
Theirs is the region where God's radiant smile
Shines outward from the centre, and gives hope
Even to those who in the shadows grope.
They are not far from us. At first though long
And lone may seem the paths that intervene,
If ever on the staff of prayer we lean
The silence will grow eloquent with song
And our weak faith with certitude wax strong.
Intense, yet tranquil; fervent, yet serene,
He must be who would contact World Unseen
And comrade with their Amaranthine throng;
Not through the tossing waves of surging grief
Come spirit-ships to port. When storms subside,
Then with their precious cargoes of relief
Into the harbour of the heart they glide.
For him who will believe and trust and wait
Death's austere silence grows articulate.

To Sensibility
In SENSIBILITY'S lov'd praise
I tune my trembling reed,
And seek to deck her shrine with bays,
On which my heart must bleed!
No cold exemption from her pain
I ever wish to know;
Cheer'd with her transport, I sustain
Without complaint her woe.
Above whate'er content can give,
Above the charm of ease,
The restless hopes and fears, that live
With her, have power to please.
Where, but for her, were Friendship's power
To heal the wounded heart,
To shorten sorrow's ling'ring hour,
And bid its gloom depart?
'Tis she that lights the melting eye
With looks to anguish dear;
She knows the price of every sigh,
The value of a tear.
She prompts the tender marks of love
Which words can scarce express;
The heart alone their force can prove,
And feel how much they bless.
Of every finer bliss the source!
'Tis she on love bestows
The softer grace, the boundless force,
Confiding passion knows;
When to another, the fond breast
Each thought for ever gives;
When on another leans for rest,
And in another lives!
Quick, as the trembling metal flies
When heat or cold impels,
Her anxious heart to joy can rise,
Or sink where anguish dwells!
Yet though her soul must griefs sustain
Which she alone can know,
And feel that keener sense of pain
Which sharpens every woe;
Though she, the mourners' grief to calm,
Still shares each pang they feel,
And, like the tree distilling balm,
Bleeds others' wounds to heal;
Though she, whose bosom, fondly true,
Has never wish'd to range,
One alter'd look will trembling view,
And scarce can bear the change;
Though she, if death the bands should tear
She vainly thought secure,
Through life must languish in despair,
That never hopes a cure;
Though wounded by some vulgar mind,
Unconscious of the deed,
Who never seeks those wounds to bind,
But wonders why they bleed;--
She oft will heave a secret sigh,
Will shed a lonely tear,
O'er feelings nature wrought so high,
And gave on terms so dear.
Yet who would hard INDIFFERENCE choose,
Whose breast no tears can steep?
Who, for her apathy, would lose
The sacred power to weep?
Though in a thousand objects pain
And pleasure tremble nigh,
Those objects strive to reach in vain
The circle of her eye.
Cold as the fabled god appears
To the poor suppliant's grief,
Who bathes the marble form in tears,
And vainly hopes relief.
Ah, GREVILLE ! why the gifts refuse
To souls like thine allied?
No more thy nature seem to lose,
No more thy softness hide.
No more invoke the playful sprite
To chill, with magic spell,
The tender feelings of delight,
And anguish sung so well;
That envied case thy heart would prove
Were sure too dearly bought
With friendship, sympathy, and love,
And every finer thought.

Missed opportunities
Once opportunity missed means gone out of hand
Work remains undone as promised by friend
They are all missed and gone forever,
Will not come back again and lost for ever
Have you ever tried for bright carrier and success?
Constant thrust and work without any recess,
New avenues, areas and seeking complete access,
With calculated move without making excess,
Perfect seeding with good and honest intention
Sides all secured with full prevention,
Zeal coupled with enthusiasm for bright future,
Taking utmost care for ideas to nurture,
Never suffered a set back or even failure
Plugging all loop holes and making it sure
If today is missed then let it not tomorrow,
Happiness and joy on face not reflecting sorrow,
One step forward with two steps backward,
Journey should go on with aim forward,
No hurdles should block or make us to leave
Always look beyond………………….
Believe in self and work with own hands,
Never put blind faith even in friends,
May be not good but prove at the end,
Sufferings to be undergone with simple amends,
Today's work may not pave the way,
Bright future should have complete say,
Friends brought near and foe kept away,
Success to wed and failure not in pray,
There is no use crying over split milk,
If cotton is in store then why cry for silk?
Only concerted efforts with dedicated approach,
Why we need advice and lessons from coach?
Have a sense of good humour for good or bad,
Not to laugh at success and at failure not sad,
Uniform dealing at matters with determined will,
Success may lie at your feet but destiny not still

Jealous Nature
Earthly love so soon corrupts,
And others peace, it interrupts:
The jealous human nature fears
A loss, if other love appears.
It's not our choice; second place
Means loss of power, loss of face;
To give up our own sovereign crown,
And sense the ties that bind, unbound.
If our magic touch seems gone
We think it best to move along;
Place faith then in another heart,
Till death or some new love, doth part.

A Single Candle/Death Herself
A single flame lights her face
The face of death
A single candle holds her fears
The fears of death
Her hands clasped anrond their souls
The souls of the dead
She feeds of their screams
The screams of the dead
Her legs lay bellow her
Bellow death
Her black gown over her body
The body of death
Her chest rises and falls with her breath
The breath of death
Her cloak drawn over her long flowing jet hair
The face of death
Her eyes unmoved unfeeling
Do you see it?
Do you see the soul of death?
Do you feel it?
Her skin as white as snow as it fades into darkness
The snow of tears
Her cloths as dark as night that swallows the light
The dark we all shall see
Her eyes close as she feels their souls flow
Flow from the dead
She leaves them there to lay in darkness
She steals from the dead
A single candle lights their faces filled with her
Filled with death
They fall into the darkness of her eyes, of her heart
The darkness of death
A single candle shall stay to light their way
Their way through the dark
A single candle holds their past
The pain and trials
A single candle lights her face
The face of death
A single candle holds her fears
The fears of death herself
A single candle

The Gospel in a Nutshell
Here’s The Gospel in a nutshell friend, from the beginning to the end.
The message displayed for all to see, so all men can live for eternity.
A message made loud and clear, so that sinful man needs not to fear.
The message is seen in Jesus Christ, so all men can have Eternal Life.
Jesus Christ died on a bloody cross, The Perfect Man for sinners lost,
For Jesus Christ died in our place, and this friend was all God’s Grace.
God sent to earth The Perfect Lamb, to bleed and die for sinful man,
As the wages for sin is death, He said “Forgive them” in His last breath.
By Jesus the penalty for sin was paid, then on the ground His body laid.
He was then placed in a tomb my friend, for the cross was not His end.
After being placed in the tomb, the Jews thought they sealed His doom.
Being In the ground for three days, sorrow began replacing men’s praise.
But the grave could not hold Him friend, for death was not Christ’s end,
And after three days came and went, Christ from that grave rose again.
He rose again just like He said, for He couldn’t remain among the dead.
Christ ascended again to His Father’s side, even though for us He died.
To help the fainted heart believe again, He returned to be seen by men,
To five hundred men He did appear, to put to rest any doubt and fear.
After forty days He would ascend, reminding all He would return again.
This is the Hope we have in Christ, that we will be raised unto New Life.

New Begining
Let me close my eyes,
till I gather a few sun rays,
to keep it safe, for my dark days
to brighten my life and end the pain,
of my mistakes.
Let me close my eyes,
till the rose buds blossom
on a beautiful day,
to start all over again, unbound
into the fragrance and freshness
on thy green earth.
