Peek-A-Boo

The cunningest thing that a baby can do
Is the very first time it plays peek-a-boo;

When it hides its pink little face in its hands,
And crows, and shows that it understands

What nurse, and mamma and papa, too,
Mean when they hide and cry, 'Peek-a-boo, peek-a-boo.'

Oh, what a wonderful thing it is,
When they find that baby can play like this;

And everyone listens, and thinks it true
That baby's gurgle means 'Peek-a-boo, peek-a-boo';

And over and over the changes are rung
On the marvelous infant who talks so young.

I wonder if any one ever knew
A baby that never played peek-a-boo, peek-a-boo.

'Tis old as the hills are. I believe
Cain was taught it by Mother Eve;

For Cain was an innocent baby, too,
And I am sure he played peek-a-boo, peek-a-boo.

And the whole world full of the children of men,
Have all of them played that game since then.

Kings and princes and beggars, too,
Everyone has played peek-a-boo, peek-a-boo.

Thief and robber and ruffian bold,
The crazy tramp and the drunkard old,

All have been babies who laughed and knew
How to hide, and play peek-a-boo, peek-a-boo.

Peek-a-boo!
I can see you
And I know what you do
So put your hands on your face
And cover up your eyes
Dont look until I signal
Peek-a-boo! peek-a-boo! peek-a-boo!
The way that we werent is what well become
So please pay attention while I show you some
Of whats about to happen
Peek-a-boo!
I know what you do
Cause I do it too
Laugh if you want to or say you dont care
If you cannot see it you think its not there

Old Gold Diggin' Geezer

Peek a boo doo peek a boo doo,
Peek a boo doo boo!
Poppa dada poppa.
Poppa dada poppa.
Peek a boo doo peek a boo doo,
Peek a boo doo boo!
Poppa dada poppa.
Poppa dada poppa.

You just wanna ride in my car.
Poppa dada poppa.
Poppa dada poppa.
And take you to places to feed your greedness.
Poppa dada poppa.
Poppa dada poppa.
Peek a boo doo peek a boo doo,
Peek a boo doo boo!
Poppa dada poppa.
Poppa dada poppa.

You just wanna have an easy life.
Poppa dada poppa.
Poppa dada poppa.
And you think I'm the one gon' give it!
Poppa dada poppa.
Poppa dada poppa.
Peek a boo doo peek a boo doo,
Peek a boo doo boo!
Poppa dada poppa.
Poppa dada poppa.

You ain't got a mortgage or a lease on me.
None that we've agreed upon.
And none that you can see.
You ain't got a ring or a title to keep me leashed up tight.
And what you think I've got,
You're not gonna get that close to take a bite!
With or without your teeth behind your 'grill'...
You old gold diggin' geezer!

Peek a boo doo peek a boo doo,
Peek a boo doo boo!
Poppa dada poppa.
Poppa dada poppa.
Peek a boo doo peek a boo doo,
Peek a boo doo boo!
Poppa dada poppa.
Poppa dada poppa.

You just wanna ride in my car.
Poppa dada poppa.
Poppa dada poppa.
And take you to places to feed your greedness.
Poppa dada poppa.
Poppa dada poppa.
You old gold diggin' geezer!
Poppa dada poppa.
Poppa dada poppa.
You old gold diggin' geezer!
Peek a boo doo peek a boo doo,
Peek a boo doo boo!

'I thought you said you were a friend to ALL people?
YOU are a fraud.
You ain't even a friend to some! '

Peek a boo doo peek a boo doo,
Peek a boo doo boo!

Creepin' Up On You

Creepin' up on you is the wrong thing to do
I found your address got your phone number too
Visit all the stores where you buy all your clothes
Been to secret places you think nobody knows

If I have to breathe without you
Nobody should......
I need to be around you
Watchin' you

No one else can love you like I do
Feel it when I'm creepin' up on you
I know that it wouldn't be right
If I stayed all night
Just to peek in on you
Creepin' up on you..

I been hanging round all the places you haunt
Spying on your friends to find out what you want
Drinking from the glass that you left on the bar
Follow you around driving home in your car...

Do I have to breathe without you?
Coz nobody could
I need to be around you
Watching you

No one else can love you like I do
Feel it when I'm creepin' up on you
I know that it wouldn't be right
If I stayed all night
Just to peek in on you
Creepin' up on you..

This must be wrong
It can't go on
This kind of thing
It's taking all my sanity and making a mockery
This must be wrong
It can't go on
So Won't somebody free me from this misery
Bring my baby closer to me

No one else can love you like I do
Feel it when I'm creepin' up on you
I know that it wouldn't be right
If I stayed all night
Just to peek in on you
Creepin'

No one else can love you like I do
Feel it when I'm creepin' up on you
I know that it wouldn't be right
If I stayed all night
Just to peek in on you
Creepin' up on you...

A total lunar eclipse poem

total darkness on a wedding night
except the flickering candle that
plays out out his anxiety to take
a peek of the moon (bride)
the sun (father) has afforded him

he would tilt the veil to let the light
of a hundred moons shine through her face
he would look at her the way an eclipse has
cleared the path for the moon to shine
the full moon that turns into a crescent
to be shrouded in his bossom so that
it glows a warm and sweet orange

and she will peek into his face the way
the eclipse reveals the secrets of the full moon
first a crescent and then its full splendour,
a husband at last to light the way to her future days

###in the old days in China a man would only know how his wife looked
like on the wedding night and vice versa. the eclipse looks very much
the way a chinese man tilt the veil over the head of wife as he takes a peek of her face.

Only Within Their Reach

Many living inside their boxes,
Peek.
Not realizing dust collects,
Under their feet.
Or there is fresh air outside,
To breathe.
Although they believe,
The sky above them...
Is only within their reach.

And they from within their boxes...
Have the right to dictate,
How high others should fly...
At what height and pace.
And which dreams those they choose,
Are approved to seek.
As well as the ones they can also deny.

Although they secretly wish,
Their insecurities would free them...
To experience such ambitions.
But fearing many living inside their boxes,
Peek.

A Squint and a Peek

With a squint and a peek
I popped into this world
With a yell and a breath
I took hold

As to why I was here
I had not a clue
And I still scratch my head
as I wonder

Why me and why now
are questions I ask
While the reason for all
stays well hidden

Why do I think
and incessantly ponder
And what does it mean
to be sentient

Will science explain
why all is as it is
Or is there divine
all-encompassing purpose

And are we alone
in our vast cosmic home
Or do unknown others
ponder with us

What I feel deep inside
is that life is a gift
And it's a proper response
to be thankful

When I do leave this world
if I squint and I peek
I may glimpse answers
to some of my musings

Lip Lock Smacking

A peek was set to catch.
Quickly slipped by a glimpse giver.
Cruised at first to tease.
Laid to seek a heat.
And if returned,
Two do this agree to meet.

This chemistry attracts.
A sudden seduction is a fact.
Tingling blends and begins to start.
Between these hungry starving hearts.

And nothing else is added to that.
With stripping nakedness,
They are in the sack.
Touching, stroking and giving love back!

A peek was set to catch!
And a lip lock smacking done...
Churned up a racket with smacks!

Stop Your Peeping Through Those Keyholes

Stop that peeping through those keyholes.
Open the windows and doors you've closed.
And take advantage of the time,
Bestowed upon you...
To stretch your mind.
Do this...
And you are certain to grow.

Stop your peeping through those keyholes.
Get fresh air and let yourself be exposed.
To all that is offered,
Beyond suspicions you guess..
And from rumors heard with gossip proposed.

Follow you must...
Each rising Sun.
From dawn 'til noon...
Until the dusk of twilight,
Invites nightfall that comes.

Stop that peeping through those keyholes.

Don't welcome your troubles,
To undo a happiness...
To chase away on the run.

Stop that peeping just to peek.
Stop that peeping just to peek.
Stop your peeping through those keyholes.

Stop that...
Peepng through those keyholes.
Open your windows and doors shut closed.
Stop that...
Peepng through those keyholes.
And take advantage of a life unlived.
One you have yet to accept.
Or come to know.

Stop your peeping through those keyholes.
And live a life to live to be bold.
Stop your,
Peeping through those keyholes.
And live a life to live that is proudly told.

Stop that peeping just to peek.
Stop that peeping just to peek.
Stop that peeping before you're too old.

Stop that,
Peeping through those keyholes.
And live a life to live to be bold.
Stop your,
Peeping through those keyholes.
And live a life to live that is proudly told.
Live a life to live that is proudly told.
And live a life before you're too old.

Stop that,
Peeping through those keyholes.
And live a life to live to be bold.
Stop your,
Peeping through those keyholes.
And live a life to live that is proudly told.
Live a life to live that is proudly told.
And live a life before you're too old.

Stop your,
Peeping through those keyholes.
And live a life before you're too old.
Stop your,
Peeping through those keyholes.
And live a life before you're too old.
Stop your,
Peeping through those keyholes.
And live a life before you're too old.

Stop your peeping through those keyholes.

Love Talk After the Kids Are Asleep

He said when I see you at night my toga expands
She said when I see you from behind I think of cantaulope pistons

He said when I see you in your nightgown I think of milkshakes

She said I always notice when you scratch and hold.

He said I like when you dress up like a pirate and think of Johnny Deep

She said I like to see you get in the car in tight jeans.

He said I like it when I see you get in the car in a tight dress

She said I dream of coming to the office in nothing but a trench coat.

He said, I like to point at you without using my hands.

She said, I like it when you play horse

He said I like it when you play cowgirl

She said I like it when you feed me snickers bars

He said I iike it when you gave me a beer bath.

Ditto she said on the milk bath.

He said I like to pull your hair gently and think of shampoo

She said, when I come down the stairs all dressed up I want to see you faint.

He said I like you to to rub your hands over my chest, look up and have your eyes roll back in your head.

She said I like when you sneak a peek at me in the shower.

He said I like when you sneak a peek at me in the shower.

They pulled the moon down for the night to use as a night light.

Routine of Deeds

From the rear is kept a preference.
Suffocating...
And yet,
Unwilling to glance ahead.
Or peek to see what it takes to lead.

From the rear is kept a preference.
Suffocating...
And yet,
Unwilling to glance ahead.
Or peek to see what it takes to lead.

And a whining done,
Is as consistent as one's routine of deeds.

Dangerous Veils

Desert candle in a tented space
Throwing softer shadows on a covered face.
Sister, silent to the likes of me --
Pay my respects to her propriety.
Is this some crazy woman here,
Dancing behind her thin black veil?
Am I misreading those mysterious eyes?
Duet impossible to harmonize.
Im not inviting any stiff reaction.
Im not one for naming holy names.
And I wont peek behind those dangerous veils.
Though you might hate me just the same.
Name of the father ringing in her head --
Thinking over what the prophet said.
Words and tradition bind her in their spell.
Dont drink the water from this holy well.
Im not inviting any fierce reaction
And Im not one for naming holy names.
I wont peek behind those dangerous veils.
Though you might hate me just the same.
Desert candle in a tented space
Softer shadows on a covered face.
Sister, silent to the likes of me --
I tip my hat to her propriety.
Im not inviting any fierce reaction
And Im not one for naming holy names.
I wont peek behind those dangerous veils.
Though you might hate me just the same.

I Saw Mama Kissing Santa Claus

(tommie connor)
Christmas toys all over the place
Little shelby wears a funny smile on his face
Shelby has a secret
And the secret he must share
He wants to tell somebody
So he tells his teddy bear
Chorus:
I saw mama kissing santa claus
Underneath the misteltoe last night
She didnt see me creep
Down the stairs to have a peek(it says peep but go with peek)
She thought that I was tucked up in my bedroom fast asleep
Then, I saw mama tickle santa claus
Underneath his beard so snowy white
Oh, what a laugh it would have been
If daddy had only seen
Mama kissing santa claus last night
Repeat chorus

Fantastic Is This Magicness

It's magic is,
Wrapped fantastic.
And efficiently preserved to eat.

Its magicness,
Is fantastic.
And fresh enough,
Whenever the need.

It's magic and wrapped fantastic.
And never to be used as one would please.
Leaving all a quality that's hard to believe.

It's magical,
And fantastic.
To satisfy like nothing could.
With the coulda wouldas wishing they understood.

Oh it's magical,
And fantastic.
To satisfy like nothing could.
With the coulda wouldas wishing they understood.

Fantastic is this magicness.
With the wannabees sneaking a peek.
Fantastic is this magicness.
With the wannabees sneaking a peek...
Wishing they could get a piece of this recipe.

Dont Cry Baby

Written by dan peek, 1977
Found on harbor.
Starlight falling through your hair
Sometimes I wonder if you know Im there
Awake in the morning a smile on your face
The same old feeling that I just cant place
And you say dont cry, baby
You know Ill always be the one who cares
Dont cry, baby
Come closer let me wipe away your tears
A man came in with a violin
He played for me like Ive never been
Courted before and forevermore
As the bow touched the strings
He made the whole world sing
Dont cry, baby (baby, dont you cry)
You know therell always be someone who cares
Dont cry, baby (baby, dont you cry)
Come closer let me wipe away your tears
I know Ive been wrong
Youve had to be strong
I guess I belong to you, my baby (baby, dont you cry)
You know Ill always be the one who cares
Dont cry baby (baby, dont you cry)
Come closer let me wipe away your tears
The sound of your voice singing songs in the night
Have taken me far away and mystified
The songs of the lovers brought tears to my eyes
The words that youd spoken made me realize

Dirty Water Dog

No candidate would I support
His platform could I endorse
Another accomplice slinging dirt
Campaign promises falling short
I dont belong to any race
Pledge allegiance to a place
No borderline in the sand Id trace
Im just a sucker for a pretty face
Uncomfortable in the realm of the political
Positions always been a little left of cynical
Im fundamentally for the individual
Preoccupied purely with the physical
When heavy is the weight of the world
And the river runs a little too deep
Like a hound dog chasing a bird
Sometimes a certain toms gotta peep
Im a peek-a-boy, looking at girls
And I think I like, I think I like, I like what I see
I dont wanna find religion
Or another mans opinion
I cant choose whats not my decision
When theres only one under the sun
Theres no need to be denied
Chew before swallowing pride
I want to live so let me die
Oh by the way, whats your sign?
Cant comprehend the meaning of the metaphysical
Id rather leave that to your so-called intellectual
But what I do know I know feels only natural
Im just a red-blooded heterosexual
When heavy is the weight of the world
And the river runs a little too deep
Like a dirty water doggin a bird
Sometimes a certain toms he gotta peep
Im a peek-a-boy, looking at girls
And I think I like, I think I like, I like what I see
When heavy is the weight of the world
And the river runs a little too deep
Like a dirty water doggin a bird
Sometimes a certain toms he gotta peep
Im a peek-a-boy, looking at girls
And I think I like, like a hound dog, chasin a bird
And I think I like

Old Man Whiskery-Whee-Kum-Wheeze

Old Man Whiskery-Whee-Kum-Wheeze
Lives 'way up in the leaves o' trees.
An' wunst I slipped up-stairs to play
In Aunty's room, while she 'uz away;
An' I clumbed up in her cushion-chair
An' ist peeked out o' the winder there;
An' there I saw--wite out in the trees--
Old Man Whiskery-Whee-Kum-Wheeze!

An' Old Man Whiskery-Whee-Kum-Wheeze
Would bow an' bow, with the leaves in the breeze,
An' waggle his whiskers an' raggledy hair,
An' bow to me in the winder there!
An' I 'd peek out, an' he'd peek in
An' waggle his whiskers an' bow ag'in,
Ist like the leaves'u'd wave in the breeze--
Old Man Whiskery-Whee-Kum-Wheeze!

An' Old Man Whiskery-Whee-Kum-Wheeze,
Seem-like, says to me: 'See my bees
A-bringin' my dinner? An' see my cup
O' locus'-blossoms they've plum' filled up?'
An' '_Um-yum, honey!_' wuz last he said,
An' waggled his whiskers an' bowed his head;

Release That Joy and Feed Us

Overcome that struggle you have,
To mask your hidden pride...
And peek from inside,
That casting shadow.

Free yourself from this false image.
You keep displayed.
For fear someone may steal,
Your quest...
To shine with exhilarating light.
The basking in this ray you gave...
Is missed by others,
Who enjoyed it when they bathed.

Overcome that struggle you have,
To mask your hidden pride...
And peek from inside,
That casting shadow.

Your flower blooming in radiance is missed.
Restore the courage within you that still lives.
Resist like you have...
From all of those conflicts had in your past!
And let us share and witness,
That which you unselfishly give!

The 'you' you 'are' from within is desperately needed.
To help assist all darkness from us to leave,
We plead.

Come out! Come out!
And glow like that bright star you are!
Come out! Come out!
Release that joy and feed us.
Please don't let us starve.
