Epigone
I am not an epigone
Tho' I read Hesiod's Theogony.
.
I love Ajax the greater,
Though I did not feature
In Homer's Iliad.
.
I love Dante Alighieri,
If not for his comedy
Why should I tease Jami?
.
How could I forget Taban,
If He is just another Caliban.
.
If I dared ignor Soyinca,
Perhaps today another man may die.
.
Dear Uncle J.P yes
Should be a Clark.
.
We need another Agbor dancer,
To end this drama of ours.

Fantasy Of My Dreams
I am drousing
in my dream
the muses
are singing.
Uncle J.P;
in my sleep
that Agbor girl
still dances.
Over there,
the Sirens;
they are
humming,
and my ship,
I think
it is sinking.

Oh, Orpheus
where art
thy music?
Who else could
lure me from
the charm of
the Sirens
if not my
sweet Jami?
The girl that I see;
the fantasy
of my dreams.

Oh Tutuola
art thou sober?
together let us
visit the land
of the dead,
and capture death,
and put him
in his Hell,
I promise to be
your new tapstar,
I was also born
in a bush of ghosts.
May we reap from
what we had sown.
People really
don't kno life,
till they stare death
right in the eyes.
I want to live
the right life
so I can have my
place with Christ.

The kisses

felt to real.
Your sweet kids,
I think they love me
I wish I could be

I tease Jami
I tease Jami
If you see her, please
Tell her this for me,
She is my Beatrice,
She steals my dreams
She is too beautyful for me,
But I think she's made for me.
.
I kiss Jami
Though it's only a dream
But to me it feels so real.
.
I tease Jami
She's always had my poems,
Though she's never liked them,
So I rewrote them.

I tease Jami
For Mr. Petty she had sweet kids
She's never liked distant dating,
But for me she did it.
.
I tease Jami
She's had her heart fixed on Petty,
But with Dante Alighieri, I stole it.
.
I tease Jami,
She wouldn't want to leave America
But for me,
She chosed Africa.

I tease Jami
I made her fell for me,
Though she never cried infront of me,
But Cupid's never stupid,
Together with Aphrodite we
Made another Beatrice for Benjamin.
.
I tease Jami
She's always had my poetry
Like Beatrice in Dante's comedy
And for sake of Benjamin's enemies
Let them burn in Hell for me.

I tease Jami
She's too pretty for my liking,
Sophistication is an understatement
Not common with Nigeria's government,
Even a goddess from Greek mythology

And Aphrodite herself cannot compare.

I tease Jami
I wish tomorrow she will marry me
But for Becky's sake, she's leaving me,

But yours Jami, I found on the outside.
.
Once again I tease Jami
And she's alway too busy for me,
So I left her for Naomi,
But later I found out Naomi
Is just another Becky
So back I came running
To my sweet Jami.

Man Have Killed His God
Tho' I did not walk
With Ajax d'greater
Nor Ajax d'Lesser,
And I know also
I did not feature
In the Iliad of Homer.
But if today you call me
Benjamin the greater
My name you would've
made brighter
'Because tomorrow you
might never
Find anther Benjamin better.
.
This poem I had written
In a cold weather,
And my girl,
She would make me feel better,
But to Church she had gone
With her grandfather.
.
Gone are days, religion
Was near to God.
Today, hell had taken
Over the Church
And pastors now rule
The billboards.
.
When Lucifer
Was cast to earth
He made his Hell
With a legion of
Demons by his side.
If there were to be no Christ,
Right by our side,
Who else would bring us light?
.
Leaders today
Mind what you say,
Tomorrow there
Might be no state,
Just Lucifer, Hell,
And your fate.
These are the things
You cannot escape.
.
Lost are days, there
Was faith in religion,
In heart and actions,
Man have killed his God.
.
Where is the love from
Which our world was made?
Yet we die, and lie in state.
.
Oh mighty Lord! God
Of the Abrahamic Religion,
Today your world is ruled by hate,
Once again we plead,
Bring Christ to our aid.

Jami Nduwimana Petty [With You Only I Have Had Perfect Communications]
How now can I forget so soon
How when we first met
Just two years ago
In the nook and thorns
Of my beloved Africa
And you, far away in America
I was bathing in hell and fire
And the other angels watching
And singing hymns of praises
To the almighty in highest
Praise be to religion
Mohammed and Jesus Christ.
Who invent hell, fire and heaven,
But of cause the camel
Can never pass through the
Needles eyes at the gate
And so certain was my fate
And they all knew how bland a sinner I was
That they needed no Minos
To show me my place in hell.
Purgatory will be too mild for me.
Dante, Beatrice, Homer and Milton
Who has grown a new set of eyes
And can now see as clearly
As a fish under water,
They all passed me by
And wouldn't even say hi,
For I had been a great
Disgrace to the race
Of poets that has ever graced
The face of this searth.
And Nietzsche too, I met in inferno
Shouting in my brains 'God is dead'
But of cause Nietzsche is dead
And Age will certainly die
But before then, let us not confound
Ourselves with such ideas
As foolish as religion.
Those that brought it up
Had only wished to confuse us.
But I must say this here and now
About Hell, well, Heaven,
I don't understand.
But you must say this to my mother
Who was made by my father
Tell them their children are dieing
In thousands;
Tell the we are burning
In Hell and fire
Will they condemn us to another?
And please say this to Jami too
I love you like no other,
For I was dead and gone in oblivion
And just when I thought all hope lost,
You came and dragged me through
The gates of Hell, to life
You gave me a song
A new song,
Though I can no longer sing now,
But you did not only give me a song
You also gave me a love, your love
You gave me kisses, and your lovely kids
I'll never forget that
My dear Jami
I want you to know one thing;
This poem this poem is not finished.

I tease Jami [ Reprise ]
IMAGINE!
This morning,
My girl broke up with me
Because I teased Jami,
She said I'm crazy,
Stupid, and mentally sick
To tease Jami
While she's with me,
Now she's leaving me.
Is this funny?
But its hurting.
She wouldn't even listen.
And now I'm lonely,
Who will comfort me?
Jami doesn't want me,
She doesn't even trust me.
They all think I'm crazy.
And now I'm rhyming
Out on nothing,
Isn't this stupid?
Who will help me beg Becky,
She's as lovely as Naomi.
Tell her to come back to Benjamin.
Jami is far away in America,
How I wished I was a Jamaican,
Maybe she would be my lover,
If I was a Raster,
But I am nothing.
Just a stupid baldy.
And they are all leaving me.
Good God, who wouldn't lose sanity?
O Jami, can't you trust Benjamin?
In your love he's sinking,
O I wish I was jamaican
They don't trust Nigerians
They think we are all fraudsters.
But not all lawyers are liars,
There are good people in Africa.
