The Time We Have

Sometimes when I awaken at night
I reach to feel if you're there.
I've gotten so used to your closeness,
the closeness that we share.

I glance at the clock to see the time
and the numbers that I view
remind me of how much time I have
to share my bed with you.

I try not to think of a time that will come
when one of us will be in bed alone.
For then if it's me and I reach for you,
I'll be there on my own.

And if I leave before you do
I want you to remember
all of the best we two have had
each January through December.

Temporary Leave

If 'ever' our closeness,
Should become estranged...
Slap me quickly to awaken,
Dear Father.
Know this...
If 'ever' our closeness,
Should become estranged...
I have taken temporary leave,
Of my consciousness.

IF You should 'ever',
Doubt my faith...
As I wish for you to believe,
As I say it is as it is perceived to be...
Dear Father.
I have been drugged without my knowledge.
And in need of Your serious counseling.
I have been strickened with abnormal indecision.
Something defective has come to bait my attention.

Know this...
If 'ever' our closeness,
Should become estranged...
I have taken temporary leave,
Of my faculties.
And I am in dire need!

Someday

Lying herethinkin' about
When you told me that you just don't care
Sleep alone every night I'm dreaming
'bout the love we used to share
Something's lost, it's a feeling that's gone
Inside I know that it won't be long
Chorus:
Someday
Love will find you girl you'll be with me again
Someday
Will remind you and then we'll be together again
Loving you, everything you wanted
Why'd you have to break my heart
All along both of us remaining
But you chose to let it fall apart
Holding back what you're feeling inside
When I know you can reach out and find
(Chorus)
This time, this time I know we can make it
This time, come on and reach out and take it
(Chorus)
(Solo)
(Chorus)

September Song

Oh its a long long time from may to december
And the days grow short when you reach september
When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame
And you aint got time for waiting game
When days dwindle down to a precious few
September november, and these few golden days Id share with you
Those golden days I share with you
When the days dwindle down to a precious few
September november, and all those golden days Id share with you
Those golden days Id share with you
Those golden days Id share with you
Those golden days Id share with you

Will You Hold Me Close?

Will you hold me close to you tonight
and take my fear away?
For in my mind I know that this
closeness just won't stay.
But if you hold me close tonight
then I can always remember
how you made me feel so good
in the dark of night.

And even though I know my world
will never be the same,
I made the choice to love you
so I will share the blame.
And so this night, this final night
when you hold me close to you
will give me memories that will have to last
for my whole life through.

In the morning when you leave
I'll close my eyes in bed.
I'll think of how you held me
and all the words we've said.
Those words I must remember
so they'll stay inside of me.
For nothing else will soothe my heart
as far as I can see.

Remember! Remember! Remember!

As you look in the mirror remember;
Remember as clock bells chime.
Remember, remember, remember
You’re living on borrowed time.

From the future you borrow the present
With nothing but an I.O.U.
Remember there’ll be a payback
When all the presents come due.

So cherish all your loved ones.
Never forget to say,
“I love you, I need you, I want you
Each in your very own way.”

Gaze at the brilliant sun
Or marvel at each cloud formation.
Every fleeting moment enjoy
This wondrous, yet transient creation.

From January through June to December
Remember! Remember! Remember!

King Of Souls

I'm the Scarecrowman, I'm swingin'
swingin'-I'm the Scarecrowman,
swingin' swingin' from the hangin'
tree-the clock-clock-clock
on the wall is ticking away
my time-the sentence is
past, now I'm paying for my
crimes-I reach out-out for the
hands of time, but they're
out of reach-I said I reach out-
out for the setting sun but
it's out-gone out of my reach-
the dust in the wind is blowing its
way back to Horror Hill-little girls
voodoo dolly sitting-on the windows sill-
the broken glass sparkles in the light-sign
on the door tells me No One Home Tonight-
Said I'm the Scarecrowman wasting
away and I'm swingin' swingin'
on the hangin' tree

In The Brong Ahafo Region

My friend Cain lives in'Tain',
But this is in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana;
And like the same scenatio in putting Professor John Evans Atta Mills into power.
Change came to Ghana to meet all of us one day,
But we have to iron out our differences to move the country forward.
7th December,28th December and 2nd January reminds us of the closeness of the elections;
However, Professor John Evans Atta Mills was sworn in into power!
And mathematically correct to bring back the NDC into power.
I had this dream long time ago! !
And to the 'Tain' Constituancy to greet my friend;
For the voting numbers from that area changed everything,
Despite the questionable figures produced from the Ashanti Region.
The writings were very clear on the walls,
And it was time for a change;
But in a land where polities are played on a rivalry bases between the NPP and the NDC,
And this dream that i saw was all that came and past!
For today, the NDC is back again after eight years in opposition.

There To Share With A Getting

You can find time to research my life,
From every aspect of it.
To create for yourself employment as done.
But you can not hire me as a consultant,
With a paying of a fee or any sum.
You enjoy it better when stealing from me.
At an opportunity you believe I am not aware.
Although I feel the closeness of your probe.

Since you rather pretend what it is you do,
Hasn't nothing to do with me at all.
And that is so untrue.
Yet what you've created would not exist,
If you had not convinced with insistence...
As you keep peeking over my fence,
That the only thing you want us to be is friends.
And there to share with a getting of what's on MY mind.

So Be It

So Be It

Back to the creator and the truthful word
Like a sparrow in the tree we call a bird.

The bird does not have intellect to share
But the universal God said, 'for them I will clothe, feed and care'.

Are we any less or any more so?
Think about what God the creator gives us and you'll know..

I look out my window and say from out of my soul
Thank you for the river, the birds; and the lilting voice of Nat King Cole.

Music of my time has become best of all my time
A ballad of thought with meaningful words for feelings of mine.

What I have and what I have been given is beyond compare
To sit and see and reach into my memory and to feel and share.

In the darkness of the night I look up and can not conceive
The grandiose of it all and yet how could one not believe.

I look and I look and the universal one I can not find
I fail to recognize by sight and touch what already exists inside my mind.

How much time did I spend in a relationship with my God
Will my mind form any more images when I lie in the sod?

My Fathers Chair

My fathers chair still standing there
All alone since the long night
Now its three years on and I still feel
Hell come home, well be alright
So wheres this healing time brings
I was told the pain would ease
But it still hurts like the first night
That night my brother, my mother and i
Were looking up at a distant star
And wishing we could reach that far
And back in the house
And alone for the first time
We told each other we cared
We avoided my fathers chair
I watch my family, we hold on
We are strong and well be alright
The clock continues counting down, all the while
And every child will share the long night
But do the spirits meet again
Why am I still so filled with doubt
Is my soul everlasting
And the far distant future
When I knew youd be gone
Came too fast and stays too long
Why do they leave the weak of spirit
And take the strong
When the world turns sour
And I get sick from the smell
And I cant find no comfort there
I climb into my fathers chair

Out Of Reach

Every day just seems so long
Every minute that I'm here without you
Will tomorrow ever come
Will I ever get a chance to feel you
I need you so much
You're out of reach
You're out of reach but you're so close
I hear you cough I feel you fall
But you're out of reach

Another room I can't hide
Another night without you here beside me
Cause I don't want to fake it
I'm just trying to make it yeah
I need you so much
You're out of reach
You're out of reach but you're so close
You're out of reach
You're out of reach but you're so close
You're out of reach
You're out of reach but you're so close

Let Me In You Believe

Come lay down close beside me now
And let me share your fears
Let us find comfort in the closeness

Let me feel the life within you
And let me in you believe.

Please Remember

Time, sometimes the time just slips away
And your left with yesterday
Left with the memories
I, Ill always think of you and smile
And be happy for the time
I had you with me
Though we go our seperate ways
I wont forget so dont forget
The memories we made
Please remember, please remember
I was there for you
And you were there for me
Please remember, our time together
The time was yours and mine
While we were wild and free
Please remember, please remember me
Goodbye, theres just no sadder word to say
And its sad to walk away
With just the memories
Whos to know what might have been
Well leave behind a life and time
Well never know again
Please remember, please remember
I was there for you
And you were there for me
And remember, please remember me
Please remember, please remember
I was there for you
And you were there for me
Please remember, our time together
The time was yours and mine
While we were wild and free
Then remember, please remember me
And how we laugh and how we smile
And how this world was yours and mine
And how a dream was out of reach
I stood by you, you stood by me
We took each day and made it shine
We wrote our names across the sky
We ride so fast, we ride so free
I had you and you had me
Please remember, please remember

Time Clock

we all have a time clock ticking every moment
of every day.
until the last gasp of breath
which slowly slips away.

so while here on this earth
use every second that goes by.
for we pass through this world but once
no matter how we try.

we will be remembered by friends and family
for the goodness when we care.
for that is something that they'll always share.

when you share the joys and sorrows
the heartaches and the pain
the warmth and tenderness that you feel
for them is still the same.

open up your heart for all the world to see
that what you have locked up inside
has finally been set free.

enjoy life to the fullest
for there is no turning back
the time clock keeps on ticking
and does'nt ease up the slack.

I Hear The Sound Of Time

Often at midnight I wake up,
I hear the sound of time.
It showers from eternity,
The Clock tells with its chime.

I find me in utter darkness,
As only waking man,
The cranky voice of a bird,
Reminds I have short span.

As a haunted person I brood,
Over the bygone days.
Is my life a story which ends,
Without its last pages?

From where we come, to where we go,
Unknown is that notion.
With the flow of time we will reach,
Perhaps a big Ocean.

But all my tasks are halfway done,
I must leave a good mark.
The night makes me to feel the truth,
The clock reminds, lo, hark! !

Please Come Home Soon

Where are you tonight
Without you I am lost
All through the night
I turned and I tossed

You are my good half
With you gone I'm not whole
Your absence leaves emptiness
Which soon takes a toll

I reach out but can't touch you
And that's just not right
As I think how your closeness
Would soften the night

I knew I would miss you
But knew not how much
As I yearn for your presence
And pine for your touch

My spirit is restless
Sensing something amiss
As spaces seem empty
Without hugs and a kiss

Please don't stay gone long
As I may not endure
For this ache deep inside
Only you have the cure

Your absence reminds me
Of the richness we share
But too much reminding
Just would not be fair

So please come home soon
That our halves may unite
As your nearness and touch
Once more makes life right

Reach Out And Touch

(nickolas ashford/valerie simpson)
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can
(just try)
Take a little time out of your busy day
To give encouragement
To someone who's lost the way
(just try)
Or would i be talking to a stone
If i asked you
To share a problem that's not your own
We can change things if we start giving
Why don't you
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can
(just try)
If you see an old friend on the street
And he's down
Remember his shoes could fit your feet
(just try)
Try a little kindness you'll see
It's something that comes very naturally
We can change things if we start giving
Why don't you
Reach out and touch
Why don't you (why don't you)
Reach out and touch somebody's hand
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can

The Throne of Grace

You can reach The Throne of Grace, my friend, any time in any place,
Where you can reach The Lord of all, from above, He’ll hear your call.
Friend, you can call on Him today, He’ll listen to what you have to say.
You can speak to The Lord audibly, or simply from your heart silently.
While in prayer, you get closer to, the very God, who has created you.

We can approach Him in confidence, for His Mercy in any circumstance.
He my friend is a personal God, who knows all about the path you trod.
Christ sent The Spirit to intercede, who knows our deepest inner need,
Conveying needs to be addressed, with groans words can not express.
And The Spirit’s groaning is in accord, to the sovereign will of The Lord.

He desires to have with you friend, a real relationship that has no end.
God wants an intimate relationship, so do not just shoot from your hip.
Share with Him what’s on your mind, and this at any place at any time.
Share with The Lord all your fears, and all your sadness and your tears.
Do not approach Him being coy; instead share all your gladness and joy.

Being a Loving God who truly cares, He will listen to all of your prayers.
You can cast all your cares on Him, remember, He died for all your sin.
If you’ve never prayed to God above, today consider His awesome Love.
God sent His Only Son Christ to die, as reconciliation for both you and I.
So that God in Heaven once again, could commune below with all men.
