Terror In Sand

Is it terror to live in desert sand
and fear exploring the dried out land?
Of course it is. What do you think?
Not even a dropp of water to drink.

Is it terror to die in desert sand
and fear expiring because of man?
Of course it is.
How would you feel
ending up as a snakes's last meal?

Desert Blues

Cant get no this,
And I cant get no that,
Cant get no you know,
I dont even know where its at.
Aint got the smoke and uh, aint no booze,
Got them low down dried out desert blues, yes I do.
Um, a george carlin said I had to go,
Just what he wanted I did not know,
Im over here dug in so far from home,
Lookin all around try and see whats going on.
I got the sand in my collar,
Got the sand in my hair,
Got it in my pockets,
Got it everywhere.
I got sand in my shirt,
Got it in my shoes,
Got them low down dried out desert blues, yes I do, how how how.
Joined up in the army
Where it was hard to find,
End up over here, got my ass on the line,
But Ill be right here until my work is done,
If I get back home I hope I never see no more guns.
Here across the ocean,
I left some of my good friends behind,
I hope somebodys thinking about me,
Especially that sweet little woman of mine.
Cant get no this,
And I cant get no that,
Cant get no you know,
I dont even know where its at.
Sand in my collar,
Got the sand in my hair,
Got it in my pockets,
Got it everywhere.
I got sand in my shirt,
Got it in my shoes,
Got them low down dried out desert blues,
Yes I do.

Desert journey

Sun with its glowing grace raised,
Bending my knees for the divinity I praised,
To start my journey on that land,
Sunny and stromy the land of sand,
Sitting over a humpy animal to ride,
From my land to the sand side,
it seemed as the ocean dried,
in which no dropp of water laid,
Sun over my head was glowing,
Under the glowing sun I was streaming,
As I moved aside a oasi of blue water,
Its not less than a miracle matter,
As my camel moved his steps foward,
My journey in the desert continued further.

Dessert

(Carly SimonMike Mainieri)
I was in the desert
Amazed by all that sand
I as in a sea of white
Swimming through the land
Nobody shocked me
Nobody locked me up
Nobody took my time
Nobody shook me up
All that happened was the white night
The endless sand in the moonlight
I was in the desert
In the opalescent moon
Watching the horizon
And waiting for the moon
Nobody talked to me
Nobody looked me up
Nobody walked up to me
Nobody shook me up
All that happened was the white night
The endless sand in the moonlight
I was in the desert
Free to live or die
Looking in the mirror
And seeing just the sky
Nobody got to me
Nobody said what to me
Nobody shoved me
Nobody loved me
All that happened was the white night
The endless sand and the moonlight

In The Sandy Desert We Were Silent

In the sandy desert we were silent;
where white and brown sand lies next to each other
we saw aloes and lilies growing together,
a sand-grouse or maybe another bird
and still we did not say anything
but thirstily did not spill a dropp of water.

The vastness, the intensity,
the sun that burnt scorching
brought us nearer to God
whose love pierces through all things,
even in places of dry rock and sand
and total forsaking.

The Crying Desert

Each and every sand of desert
Asks me as an expert
Where you were
When she was doing this crime

She left me alone, all alone
In the roaring desert zone
I just wanted her to phone
But she was not in the home

The scene was so horrifying
I searched and every sand
The desert called me crying
She is now in their hand

Afraid To Shoot Strangers

Lying awake at night I wipe the sweat from my brow
But its not the fear cos Id rather go now
Trying to visualise the horrors that will lay ahead
The desert sand mound a burial ground
When it comes to time
Are we partners in crime?
When it comes to time
Well be ready to die
God let us go now and finish whats to be done
Thy kingdom come thy shall be done... on earth
Trying to justify to ourselves the reasons to go
Should we live and let live forget or forgive
But how can we let them go on this way?
The reign of terror corruption must end
And we know deep down theres no other way
No trust, no reasoning, no more to say
Afraid to shoot strangers
Afraid to shoot strangers

Desert

The land of desert,
the land of sand
blows in the eyes
and sifts in the hand.
And yet there we are,
esconced in a war
searching for Al Quaeda
in death's dusty door.
Pointless it seems
to civilian's screams.
Endless caves
in a barren land.
Beautiful poppies
for the Taliban
with ragged heads covered
to keep out the dust.
Uniformed soldiers,
who can they trust?
Suicide missions
in the sand.
Fear in the hearts
of Afghanistan.

Starforsaken

Whipped in the eye by the sand
Malicious have light of day obscured
The sun has burned my skin
Open wounds are licked by sand
To be punished by this vortex of scorn
Wrists and ankles are chained upon this land
Drawn through the desert to be their sacrifice
So this is my golgatha, so this is my grave
The thieves, the liars, the hypocrit scum
Id slay them if I only could
The endless sand, the blackest land
A cyclone of spinecrushing anger
Meant for me
The overlords of the desert
Not one was meant to be
All human force now flee
Rules of anatomy lost
Rage into the extreme

Questions to Desert Wind…

You wonder,
Did the desert wind already forgotten to past?

No dearest, it has always blown so gently…
Crafting this dry open desert,
Shifting mystical sand dunes,
Bringing precious droplets to a thirsty bird,
To comfort her broken heart!

You further asked,
O desert wind…
Why erased my written message in the sand?

So let it be a permanent secret,
Cause I have already engraved it in my heart.

I loved all the love away

I loved all the love away
Left with mine prodigal hand
Mine heart through my fingers play
To soft white sensual sand
In a desert of sheer famine
Bereft of love and love's sea
I scavenge the ground and examine
The desert of what's left of me
Nothing but white sand and shore
Where the moon tide's waves
move rippled sand of desert galore
to taunt and with will depraves
The love I need, but shows the love I had
Lost in the desert delusional I'm utterly mad…

Philosophers Bones

He’s given them all to a Desert Man
Underdog bitten holes of the head
He’s given them all to a Desert Man
Unleashed sunflower sunward led
He’s given them all to a Desert Man
In windblown power the dinas bled
He’s given them all to a Desert Man
Like tears in the desert rose shed
Stone alone atoned in the last sand clock
Soul alone attained keyed within the lock

How spiny the cactus raised itself

how spiny the cactus raised itself
into the desert
how red the sand
burnt under the mid-day sun
how scorched the scorpion moved
across the red sand

and in that silence
a sudden whirlwind blows
a red, red cloud of sand
from the dunes rises
how spiny the cactus raised itself
into the tempest:

and yet
and yet
the tempest was subdued and fell
as happened long ago and now
and still
and spiny the cactus raises itself
into the desert
and the red sand
burns under the mid-day sun

Grain....

when life one dark night says
that it is tasteless and so bland like the air
the leaves of the mahogany trees hear it
and the following morning confide it with the
sea breeze
who tells it all to the sands who spread same story
to the waves of the shores
who deliver it to every desert in the sand
who keep all these in the heart of their
sacred solitude
and the wisdom stops in there
every dry sand of the desert
thrives upon this story
and sleeps so soundly.

'it is a fact and we are not surprised' the grain
of sand so proudly tell the others.

Caravan

Moses went into the desert
Moses came back with the law
Jesus went into the desert
God only knows what he saw
Hitch up your ass and your camel
Fill up your skin at the well
Roll up your tent, whisper your prayers
Are you ready to ride through hell
Caravan moving through the night
Sleeping in the light of day
Caravan spinning through the void
On our way to anywhere
Caravan time is just a joke change is all we
Understand
Caravan life is a mirage,
Only a mirage dancing on the desert sand
How I recall all the mountains
How I remember the farm
Oh how I miss the big city
With a pretty girl on my arm
Sell my best friend for some water
Cut off my leg for some shade
Sunburn these thoughts from my memory
If I live I will be remade
The sand is like a razor
Slashing at my face
Everyones in panic but you cant see any place
Its a sand storm, taken by surprise
Hide beneath your wrappings and cover up your eyes
Well I lost my kit and camel
Maybe I will die
Feel so lost and helpless and I think Im gonna cry
Its a sand storm, nothing you can do
No one knows if it will last
No one knows if you will make it through
Its been so long without water
Vultures are filling the air
Where is that bloody oasis
Must be around here somewhere
Time for some strong meditation
Time for the ultimate change
Time to make peace with your maker
Everything has been prearranged

Island In The Sand

You are walking across the desert,
under a hot blazing sun;
you eyes search the horizon
for an oasis somewhere.
Places of palm trees,
and a pool of cool water there,
a little island in the sand.

Finally you see something,
you run headlong towards it,
dive into the cool water.
This is what you think you see,
but you end up bathing in the hot sand,
it is only a mirage you see.

Love can also be,
very much like that,
island in the sand.
Once you get close,
it may also disappear.

Islands

Island in the sea
Are so much like me
They dont ever change--no emotion, no emotion
Islands on the land
Dry like desert sand
Island in the city
All alone its such a pity
Chorus
Its just a masquerade
Just painted laces
When will it change
Never
Islands in the seas
Whats come over me
We are both surrounded by the water--empty water
Give me mystery--and the fear it brings
Anything at all to break up the monotony
Chorus
Islands in the sea
Forever . . . forever

My Desert Serenade

(words & music by stan gelber)
Come here my serenade, my desert serenade
A lovers melody, to bring you close to me
Its a tender lullaby, born of golden sand and sky
The song is new, and its calling you
Tonight beside the desert palms
Come let me take you in my arms
Come here my serenade, my desert serenade
Wherever lovers dwell, it weaves its magic spell
Soon a thousand dreams will start,
And romance will fill your heart
My lips conceal, love thats warm and real
Give me a chance to hold you near
Youll see a brand new world appear
So come and hear, my desert serenade, my desert serenade,
My desert serenade

The Fear

And now my love the terror
Is surrounding everything
Even the red wheelbarrow
The trembling of the sky
In the rising heat of fire
Fear of the recession
Sleep-walking off the cliff
Fear of a new rainbow
With nothing at the end of it
Fear of blackened rivers
Return of the sickness
Fear of everyone else's fear
As they patrol the stage
Bars raised on the cage
By their fear of change

Fear of the Israelis
And the brown girl on the train
Fear of Ms America
And what she's doing to her face
Self - immolation
Self - mutilation
Bearing arms and burning hearts
Terror of intelligence
Allergic to complexion
Fear indeed of anyone
Living without fear
Fear as fever, fear as balm
His excuse to minimise
The meaning of ideas
Fear to stand stock still
And run from every fear

Fear is here but I
Myself am different now
I have changed my shape
From the inside to the out
A shell that hides on shore
As camouflage, I dive
Under the surface of seabed
When the tide pulls back
At the command of fear
He no longer sees me here
Through prison walls I slide
I am man no more
I am liquid in my shell
Viscous, moist and free to run
And fear cannot find his mark
To enter anywhere.

My Texas Desert Heaven

There's no tree,
As far as I can see,
The cactus are always green.
There's alot of sand,
But oh man,
This is my Texas desert heaven.
The stars are nice and bright,
The moon shines over desert sky at night,
That's My Texas desert night.
It's like being in Heaven,
When it rains it smells so great.
This is where my heart roams and stays,
This is My Texas Desert Heaven.
