How Can I Be?
How can I be something I'm not?
How can I be what I thought you forgot?
The years have taken their toll on me.
How can I be how you remember me?
How can I be completely yours?
The years have closed some of those doors
that were open wide and slowly did close.
But it never sealed completely for love always goes
and frees itself from ending too soon.
For you look at the stars. You look at the moon
and you feel that love inside.
Then you realize that it never died.
And so you become something you're not.
You become the one he never forgot.
As the years disappear from your view,
you become just as he remembers you.

Siege
Your love threw me
In the land of wonders.
It took me by surprise
From my neck
While I was
At my preferred café,
At my preferred table,
While I was teasing my poems,
While my poems were teasing me.
I forgot my preferred café
And I forgot my preferred table
I forgot my poems
I forgot whom I was teasing
And who was teasing me.
.
Your love surprised me
While I was reading my hand
For luck
And fate.
I forgot my hand,
I forgot my luck,
And I forgot my fate.
Your love invaded me
the same way a tsunami
Invaded the moon
In its ecliptic wedding
With the sun.
I woke up weak
Thirsty,
And thirty million light years faraway
From my birth galaxy.
I forgot the moon,
I forgot the sun,
I forgot the wedding
And I forgot my birth galaxy.
Your love surprised me
Like the Christ surprised the ancient world
I forgot Christ
And I forgot the ancient world.

To Be Honest With You
the christmas songs are played
and i do not remember anything anymore
these songs come and go and my years are shorter.
last year
is just like today.
there is no meaning anymore.
and i am not giving any chunk of me anymore.
i am sealed. i am a house with doors and windows closed.
i am sleeping inside it.
and it will be years before i wake up.
don't worry. i will not tell them that you are a
part of me.

Recollections
I.
Years upon years, as a course of clouds that thicken
Thronging the ways of the wind that shifts and veers,
Pass, and the flames of remembered fires requicken
Years upon years.
Surely the thought in a man's heart hopes or fears
Now that forgetfulness needs must here have stricken
Anguish, and sweetened the sealed-up springs of tears.
Ah, but the strength of regrets that strain and sicken,
Yearning for love that the veil of death endears,
Slackens not wing for the wings of years that quicken -
Years upon years.
II.
Years upon years, and the flame of love's high altar
Trembles and sinks, and the sense of listening ears
Heeds not the sound that it heard of love's blithe psalter
Years upon years.
Only the sense of a heart that hearkens hears,
Louder than dreams that assail and doubts that palter,
Sorrow that slept and that wakes ere sundawn peers.
Wakes, that the heart may behold, and yet not falter,
Faces of children as stars unknown of, spheres
Seen but of love, that endures though all things alter,
Years upon years.
III.
Years upon years, as a watch by night that passes,
Pass, and the light of their eyes is fire that sears
Slowly the hopes of the fruit that life amasses
Years upon years.
Pale as the glimmer of stars on moorland meres
Lighten the shadows reverberate from the glasses
Held in their hands as they pass among their peers.
Lights that are shadows, as ghosts on graveyard grasses,
Moving on paths that the moon of memory cheers,
Shew but as mists over cloudy mountain passes
Years upon years.

The Day Old Shep Died
it's been thirty years,
that he's been gone,
the day he died, brought tears,
all day, i played his song.
for nine long years,
i loved him and he loved me,
the day he died, broght tears,
toward the end, he could barely see.
when he died, i was seventeen years,
my child hood died that day,
the day he died, brought tears,
during his youth, we were always at play.
him and i was, so close in years,
when i got shep he was five and i eight,
the day he died brought tears,
he always ate his meals, off our plate.
he died at eighty-four in human years,
he lived to a ripe old age,
the day he died brought tears,
for this poem, he set the stage.
i can't believe, its been so many years,
i think about him, all the time,
the day he died, brought tears,
but old shep, was all mind.
of all these many years,
no dog has taken the place of old shep,
the day he died, brought tears,
i'll always remember, that dog with pep
in memory of old shep 1946-1960 written june 21,1990
Further Than You
Come to wind, carry it from the sun.
Come to rain, turns up the corners of my mouth.
And I like this wide open view
But Im not looking further than you
Come to stranger, wants to know my name.
Come tomorrow, I still feel the same.
And I like this wide open view
But Im not looking further than you
Oh, on a day like this you can see forever but thats okay.
And I like this wide open view
But Im not looking further than you
Come to moon, floating like a fish.
Come to first star, whod have thought itd come to this.
And I like this wide open view
But Im not looking further than you
And I like this wide open view
But Im not looking further than you

Because Of You
Because of you I have threw away all my rights
Because of you I have walked through the fires with bare feet
Because of you the sun has shine again in my life
But faded away the day that you have gone
Because of you I laughed when I was dieing inside
Because of you I forgot to live
with you have gone my years and the shine of my eyes.
Because of you I could not live I could not die
Because of you I am not alive.not even died
Because of you I have cried bloody tears and still I am
Because of you I have trew away all my desires
Because of you I have forgot that the human being love to lie
when i Leaved my Soul bared in Your arms Without doubts
And walked to you through the dangerous road of your love
Because of you I will never again fall in love

Am I To Blame
A simple hug or a kiss, that would
have been enough;
to make me feel deserving,
of any type of love.
I've never received her affection, for
her heart she kept to herself;
and the emptiness and pain it caused, to
this day can still be felt.
During my childhood years, and even
now as an adult;
I blame myself for her lack of
love, as if it were my fault.
Yet I still remember my anger,
directed completely her way;
for in my Mother's eyes, I was
a mistake that she had made.
Yet throughout the years of my
childhood, and even to this very day;
I feel as if it were all my fault,
that I brought my Mother such shame.

You Dont Love Me Anymore
(track 8 - time 3:42)
(greg barnhill/kim carnes)
She walks over to him and she says do you remember me
I think we might have met somewhere before
Southern carolina is the place that comes to mind
But hey I guess you never really can be sure
Oh theres nothing like a true love
To go and make a fool of someone just like before
And right there for a minute
I forgot that you dont love me anymore
Then an old familiar feeling
Wraps its arms around the moment
And he says so many times Ive tried to call
Well you think youd spent a lifetime
Its been two years since Ive seen you
But it seems like no times gone by at all
There was nothing like a real love
To give you back the feel of someone just like before
And right there for a minute
I forgot that you dont love me anymore
Oh and how far well travel
For a place to heal our hearts
We watched it unravel
So whys tonight the hardest part
Then he says the weathers changin
And its icing up the highway
So I guess its time for me to hit the road
So she says goodbye and then before she knows what she is saying
She says I wish that you didnt have to go
Oh theres nothing like a true love
To go and make a fool of someone just like before
And right there for a minute
I forgot that you dont love me anymore
And right there for a minute
I forgot that you dont love me anymore

I Will Not Be With You
Remember if I
cannot be with you.
I will not be with you.
My love.
The choice is yours.
For a little longer.
My love.
Not for eternity,
or for as long as
the stars,
will shine
in the heavens,
above my love.
The choice is only yours.
For a little longer. My love.
I will soon blaze away
like a comet my love.
Remember if I cannot
be with you. My love.
You should fall
under the spell
of the moon. My love.
You should follow
the passions of a lover’s
moon. My love.
You should make love
in the night, under moonlight,
with me. My love.
In the pale moonlight,
our love will shine bright.
My love.
In the full moonlight,
our love will consume night.
My love.
In the full moonlight,
as bright as the sun,
radiant for us. My love.
The years are swiftly
speeding by.
My love.
The years are coming
and going like a comet’s
flight. My love.
The years are passing
and then we must die.
My love.
Then after I die
I cannot be with you.
After I die I cannot
be with you.

I think if we study the primates, we notice that a lot of these things that we value in ourselves, such as human morality, have a connection with primate behavior. This completely changes the perspective, if you start thinking that actually we tap into our biological resources to become moral beings. That gives a completely different view of ourselves than this nasty selfish-gene type view that has been promoted for the last 25 years.

Stricken
I love you completely
I guess Im kinda mad about you
I love you, I love you I do
Love overcomes all of my senses
Lowers all of my defenses, yeah
And all of your faults vanish to a blind daze
Your bitterness erased by my sense of taste
And harsh words are deafened by love
I love you completely
I couldnt be madder about you
I love you, I love you I do
I love you completely
Theres nothin I see bad about you
I love you, I love you I do
Love welcomes me to every new day
The stars are all falling down my way, yeah
And all of the planets are lined in the sky
The lights are shining down upon you and i
My world is stricken by love
Kiss me over and over forever and ever my love
Kiss me all over and over forever and ever my love
The love I have for you
Makes me blind I cant see
The love I have for you
Cuts my throat I cant speak
The love I have for you makes me numb
I cant feel
The love I have for you makes me numb
I cant feel
But boy, oh boy, oh boy
I love you
Completely, yeah
I love you, I love you - I do do do do

Something You Forgot
I REMEMBER
THE TIMES WE SHARED
FILLED WITH LAUGHTER AND SHEERS
THE TIMES WE CRYED
WHEN WE TRIED SO HARD
NO TO FALL APART
TO STAY TOGETHER
LIKE THREADED LEATHER
BUT I REMEMBER
ITS JUST
SOMETHING YOU FORGOT
I REMEMBER
THE TIMES WE TALKED
THE STEPS WE WALKED
THE DAY IT RAINED
WHEN YOU AND I LAYED
TO REST AND MY HEAD ON YOUR CHEST
KEPT ME IN PLACE
WHILE I LOOKED AT YOUR FACE
BUT I REMEMBER
IS JUST
SOMETHING I FORGOT
I REMEMBER
IT LIKE YESTERDAY
WHEN GRANDMA DIED
I CAN STILL FEEL
THE TEARS FROM MY EYES
WHICH DRYED AS I CRIED
KEPT ME FROM DYING
BUT YET TRYING
BUT I REMEMBER
ITS JUST
SOMETHING YOU FORGOT

I Forgot
Hey, it’s been so long since I have seen you.
I had to think awhile just to remember you.
I forgot the brightness in your smile.
I forgot gleam that shines in your eyes.
I forgot the soft sweet taste of your lips.
I forgot the way you used to make me move my hips.
But wait minute before you try to ease in my arms.
Because I do remember why we did part.
I remember the harsh names that you used to call me.
I remember the hurt you used to cause me.
I remember the last time we were together and you
nearly choked me to death. So you can keep
on walking cause the abuse I remember.
Don’t you even think that I forgot?
You Passed Bad Judgement
Did it trouble you enough inside yourself,
To lock and block out my love for you?
To completely shut down.
Testing how I feel for you.
To know I have loved you then...
As I love you now and you do this to me?
Accuse 'me' of infidelity?
Me...
I've been too faithful.
Loving, caring, giving and...
Open, honest and overly grateful,
Just to have you in my life!
That's right.
And yet...
My pet.
The love of my life.
I never felt that returned to me at all.
And still you question my devotion.
To think I would cheat?
To put a stall in our relationship,
Creating my own downfall.
When you opened your mouth,
I couldn't believe what came out of it.
I am going to be grateful whether you like it or not.
Whether you feel the way I do.
Or...
Perhaps you forgot!
But I love you!
Did it trouble you enough inside yourself,
To lock and block out my love for you?
To completely shut down.
Testing how I feel for you.
To know I have loved you then...
As I love you now and you do to this me?
Accuse 'me' of infidelity?
The only thing 'that' accusation says,
And does...
Is make me wonder,
Who's fire you have been igniting.
'Cause I know it is not mine.
You want to discuss this?
Or do you want to walk out on me?
It's up to you!
Because I'm not going anywhere.
And I suspect you aren't either.
Since I see in your eyes...
You passed bad judgement,
And made a mistake...
Together we can erase.
'To assume someone else should be perfect,
while excusing our own imperfections to be tolerated...
is ego 'trippin'. Some grow tired of it. Others?
They become more sickening with their demands.
You have to go through this experience to wake up,
and know it is true. Who wants to put up with an egomanic? '
No baby,
I'm not hardly talking about you!

What would you do...
What would you do…
If your mother turns you away.
What would you do…
If your family doesn't trust you.
What would you do…
If no one needed you.
What would you do…
If you family forgot you.
What would you do…
If your friends weren't there to lean on.
What would you do…
If your friends no longer cared.
What would you do…
If you lied to your closest friend.
What would you do…
If your friends ditched you.
What would you do…
If you tried to be someone you're not.
What would you do…
If you lied to those you love.
What would you do…
If you forgot who you were.
What would you do…
If you were disgusted in yourself.
What would you do…
If you met a brilliant friend.
What would you do…
If making friends was too hard.
What would you do...
If they tried so hard.
What would you do…
If you fell in love with a friend.
What would you do…
If everything turned out all right.
What would you do…
If you learned how to love.
What would you do…
If you became the happiest girl alive.
What would you do…
If I changed it all.
Would you…
Love me.
Would you...
Hate me.
Would you…
Let me be your friend.
Would you…
Tell me all your secrets.
I know…
I am not perfect.
I know…
You aren't either.
I know…
We are completely different.
But I know…
We were meant to be friends.
Remember me…
When you're home alone.
Remember me…
When you need a friend.
Remember me…
When your life's a mess.
Remember me…
When your heart is broken.
I will always be there...

The comeback kid (song)
The comeback kid
~
I walked into am ambush I was overrun
Got caught out by feelings and thoughts
Led to into a limbo dance I became mystified
And this was just the beginning
~
I forgot about love, then remembered you
What a comeback to behold
I forgot about love, then remembered you
What a place to come back to
~
They say in every song there is a story
In every poem a tale is hid from view
The are many things we will come to say
And I guess that is just our little way
~
I forgot about love, then remembered you
What a comeback to behold
I forgot about love, then remembered you
What a place to come back to
~
Now where do we go from here
It’s a situation I am not used to
I’m all confused I have no clue
Can you take my hand, lead me from here
To where’ve you wish to
~
I forgot about love, then remembered you
What a comeback to behold
I forgot about love, then remembered you
What a place to come back to
I forgot about love, then remembered you
What a comeback to behold
I forgot about love, then remembered you
What a place to come back to

1000 Years
If only we talked it out a little more
You might never have gone away
If only I tried
Instead of making for the door
Youd be loving me still today
And if Id only been a little wiser
You knew I knew the lies you told
But you thought I didnt care
And if Id only shown my love
In so many different ways
If only youd stayed
And in 1000 years
Ill still be thinking of you
Though in 1000 years
My love will have gone
But in a 1000 years
Well probably be together
But right now youre gone
If only I had you back again right now
Wouldnt ask for a thing, I know
Except to say Im sorry, and how
And the wisdom to let it show
And if Id only looked a little deeper
Each time I saw you weeping
And how I wished I held you close
Cause if I only shown my love
In so many different ways
Baby youd want to stay
And in 1000 years
Ill still be thinking of you
Though in 1000 years
My love will have gone
But in a 1000 years
Well probably be together
But right now youre gone
And in 1000 years
(Ill still be thinking of you)
1000 years
(my love will be long gone)
1000 years
(well probably be together forever)
1000 years
(Ill still be thinking of you)
1000 years

All Through The Years
Longing to sail on
Through the night to the stars
On until sunrise
Where the moon hides her tears
All through the years
If I could see the world through someone elses eyes
If I could see through you would I cast you to one side
And if you gave it all would I throw it all away
Like the leaves in autumn winds
From the window in the kitchen
To the fireside by the chair
Sat in familiar surroundings warm night air
Under the bridges that were burning
Before we reached the other side
All the feelings I remember I cannot hide
Not for want of trying
And if you held me here would the moment fade away
Into obscurity like the night becomes the day
For all the broken promises tell me where do I begin
To throw my caution to the wind
Longing to sail on
Through the night to the stars
On until sunrise
Where the moon hides her tears
All through the years
All through the years all through the years
All through the years all through the years
All through the years all through the years
