Curiosity

Curiosity can kill a cat
and the cat will never know
how the thing that he was curious about
caused the final blow?

Curiosity

Because of curiosity
All the Vandals had to see
The golden throne
Of Ancient Rome
And brought the city to its knees
Because of curiosity
Because of curiosity
I'm just riddled with anxiety
I'm the lowest level
As a matter of fact
I often dwell for days on this
But when I see your smiling face
I'm so disgraced
And if you're holding out on me
I get curious
As curious as I can be
Curious
Because of curiosity
Curiosity killed the cat
But satisfaction brought it back
In terms of this cat
As a matter of fact
I'll meet you at the old mouse hole
I'll meet you at the old mouse hole
When I see your smiling face
I'm so disgraced
If you're holding out on me
I get curious
As curious as I can be
Curious as I can be
Curious as I can be
Yeah, curiosity

Curious Thing

There was this guy, he was down on his luck
He was truly povertys child
Well, he had no home and he had no car
And he wore a weary smile
Moved out to l.a., knocked around for awhile
But he was getting nowhere
Then he did this movie and it did really well
Now hes a millionaire
See, life is a curious thing
Life, ooh life is a curious thing
I know a man who could paint the town red
Had a college degree in fun
till the doorbell rang and a long lost flame said
This little boy is your son
Gave him a suitcase and a bear
Left em in a cloud of dust
Now hes checking out schools and driving carpools
Learning to adjust
He says life is a curious thing
Life, ooh life is a curious thing
Well, I know that it can be demanding
I know that it can be unkind
I dont really understand it
But lord sure knows I try
Life is a curious thing
Life, ooh life is a curious thing
Let me tell you bout a kid I knew
A pudgy girl back in school
She had greasy hair and geeky glasses
Object of ridicule
The other day in the check out line
They were ringing up my rice and beans
There she was, a pretty little face
On the cover of a magazine
And I said life is a curious thing
Life, ooh life is a curious thing
(chorus)
Just goes to show that you never know
Just what tomorrow may bring
But Ill tell you this that what it is
Is seldom what it seems
cause life is a curious thing
Life, ooh life is a curious thing. . .

Does Man Create His Gods?

Does man create his gods or do gods create themselves in likeness to man?
Was it not death that fist stirred in man a curiosity of his greater self?
Was it not death and knowing our loved ones and enemies to fall into the dust
That caused us to pray and pour libations in there honour?
Was it not the unknown that caused man in curiosity that would make
Alice proud, to ponder the shades of his intellect in an attempt to shed light
Upon a truth concealed within the looking glass ripples of fresh water springs?

Final Thoughts

Final Thoughts
Sigh on to you just lost the blow
Sigh on to you
Sigh on to you My friend
Fell thoughts of soul's descend
Final Thoughts
Sigh on to you My friend
Might be is this the end
The pain hurts the fear inside
Kill be the weak to ride
Countdown to fossil down
Show Me the cancerous meltdown
???, the architects of life
???
Final Thoughts
Sigh on to you My friend
Might be is this the end
Sigh on to you
Sigh on to you

Putting Pieces Of Yesterday Together

It's a funny thing about developing,
One's curiosity...
That a having of experiences,
Eventually comes to teach.

Those who are curious with a desire to comprehend,
Seem never to run out of things to do.
And those who are not curious about anything,
Are often horrified by the hearing of yesterday's news.
Often with a beginning of the blues to sing.

To then make demands with an insistence,
To know what happened and how and at what hour.
When it is the current events of the day,
That leaves them unconsiously affected.
Nor do they wish with an urgency to hear it,
With ears opened and mouths shut.

As many could care less,
Who did what, why and when to whom.
Since they have not been told yet,
They should be. But, are not concerned.
So they do not bother to be inquisitive at all,
To ask or be given a hint.
Because their time is spent,
Putting pieces of yesterday together.

Children whose curiosity survives parental discipline and who manage to grow up before they blow up are invited to join the Yale faculty. Within the university they go on asking their questions and trying to find the answers ... it is a place where the world's hostility to curiosity can be defied.

Cultivate your curiosity. Keep it sharp and always working. Consider curiosity your life preserver, your willingness to try something new. Second, enlarge your enthusiasm to include the pursuit to excellence, following every task through to completion. Third, make the law of averages work for you. By budgeting your time more carefully than most people you can make more time available. Does the combination of curiosity, enthusiasm, and the law of averages guarantee success Indeed it does not ... Success in the final analysis always involves luck or the element of chance. Louis Pasteur grasped this well when he said that chance favors the prepared mind.

Sonnet: On the Palsied-Man

Pity the palsied-man, who cannot walk,
A victim of apoplexy and stroke;
Thrombo-embolism, who cannot talk:
A vegetable now and sad a yoke!

The hemorrhage within the brain can kill
And cause brain-swelling that can be lethal;
The invalid requires nursing skill,
And life becomes sordid, worthless- a hell!

The newer gadgets show the lesions quick;
Physio-therapy stalls the final kill;
While neuro-surgery can cure some sick,
Who can bear the huge hospital- bill?

What curious states affect the brain these days!
But there is hope for mankind’s ills always!

Final Curtain

Whats left for me to see
In my ship I sailed so far
What can the answer be
Dont know what the questions are.
And after all Ive done
Still I cannot feel the sun
Tell me save me
In the end our lost souls must repent.
I must know it is for certain
Can it be the final curtain
As long as the wind will blow
Ill be searching high and low.
Who knows whats really true
They say the end is so near
Why are we all so cruel
We just fill ourselves with fear.
And heaven and hell will turn
All that we love shall burn
Hear me trust me
In the end our lost souls must repent.
I must know it is for certain
Can it be the final curtain
As long as the wind will blow
Ill be searching high and low.
Final curtain

Curious

Straight as a dye
On us we rely
Yet watch how my head is turning
Distracting my eye
Its no reflection on you, yet who would believe me
Troubled by the thought of it, I cant deny
That Im curious, never meant to hurt you
Just curious, I cant deny
That Im curious, never have decieved you
Just curious, I cannot lie
Give me a reason
Ill hide my delight
Shamelessly Ill seize the moment
Just my needs in sight
Its no reflection on you, yet who would believe me
Troubled by the thought of it, I cant deny
That Im curious, never meant to hurt you
Just curious, I cant deny
That Im curious, never have decieved you
Just curious, I cannot lie
Its no reflection on you, yet who would believe me

The Boy Racer

Hes just too good-natured and
Hes got too much money and
Hes got too many girlfriends
Im jealous, thats all
Have you seen him go, though, oh ?
Have you seen him go, though, oh ?
Boy racer
Boy racer, oh
Were gonna kill this pretty thing
Boy racer
Boy racer, oh
Were gonna kill this pretty thing
Hes got too many girlfriends
He thinks he owns this city
He overspeeds and he never gets pulled over
Have you seen him go, though, oh ?
Have you seen him go, though, oh ?
Boy racer
Boy racer, oh
Were gonna kill this pretty thing
Boy racer
Boy racer, oh
Were gonna kill this pretty thing
He thinks he got the whole world in his hands
Stood at the urinal
He thinks he got the whole world in his hands
And Im gonna ... kill him !
Oh, no !
Oh, no !
Oh, no !
Oh, no !
Oh, no !
Oh, no !
Oh, no !
Oh, no !
Oh, no !
Oh ....
Boy racer
Boy racer, oh
Were gonna kill this pretty thing
Boy racer
Boy racer, oh
Were gonna kill this pretty thing
Boy racer
Boy racer, oh
Were gonna kill this pretty thing
Hes just too good-looking
Hes just too good-looking
Hes just too good-looking, and
And, and ...
Boy racer
Boy racer, oh
Were gonna kill this pretty thing
Boy racer
Boy racer, oh
Were gonna kill this pretty thing

Bad Fit

How many nails do I have to have
hammered into my brain to realise
we don't fit?

This liaison has always been flawed.
Gel, we never did, but we had passion.
A wealth of it.

Should I take this hammer
and strike the final blow?
I don't know.

Hammers strike memories,
as though they're all piano keys
and the sound is harsh..

They have me re-visiting old war wounds
that I should have buried years ago.
They are awakening.

They've been dormant for so long.
Maybe I should have one final strike
and put them to rest.

The trouble is, if I pick up the hammer
and strike the first blow,
I may never stop

To finish a work? To finish a picture? What nonsense! To finish it means to be through with it, to kill it, to rid it of its soul, to give it its final blow the coup de grace for the painter as well as for the picture.
