And Pray Tell

And pray tell why was it you
that came and took my mind?
Was it that you searched for me
or was I not your find?
Why not some other one to seek
and take over their brain?
Whatever the reason, I am lost
and so I do remain
entranced by the seeking
and feeling the weakening
in my ability to have you gone.

'Don't go. Don't leave.' that's what I hear
repeating in my brain.
Its incessant call is a constant,
like a melodic refrain
that never wants to end.

You and your Career

Your ears were choosing what to hear,
When mighty jungles claimed noises,
The reason behind the brain and what is clear.

My sight detained me and made me disappear,
Where was I situated, afterwards with afterimages?
Your ears were choosing what to hear.

Your instrument is heavenly in this world and atmosphere,
Like music has spoken and never abuses,
The reason behind the brain and what is clear.

I ride on a faith too majestic and pure to adhere,
Such innocence exhibits the advantages,
Your ears were choosing what to hear,

My mind is passing a test, like drinking beer,
Inner fighting has survived the ambushes,
The reason behind the brain and what is clear.

I can never refuse a man to speak about a career,
The laughing is acted due to this and never ceases,
Your ears were choosing what to hear,
The reason behind the brain and what is clear.

Refuge

(david henman)
Published by summerlea music, ltd. - bmi
Im but a lad, oh for Im twenty, tuned in to dreaming
Gazing at your sign, for mad men only, my poets screaming
I searched for you, but I cant find you
I searched for you, but I cant find you
Take me to the wild black seas of madness, the savage dancer
Clothe me in insanity and leave me, to find the answer
I searched for you, but I cant find you
I searched for you, but I cant find you
I searched for you, but I cant find you
I searched for you, but I cant find you
I searched for you, but I cant find you
I searched for you, but I cant find you
I searched for you, but I cant find you
I searched for you, but I cant find you

Bad Brain

I used to be an A student
I never used to complain
I used to be a truant
But I'm still the same
Bad bad brain
Bad bad brain
I used to go to parties
I used to drink champagne
Now I'm beginning to feel the strain
Bad bad brain
I used to be in show biz
I used to have fortune and fame
I used to have pleasure and pain
I used to have a name
Bad bad brain
Now I'm on the Bowery
I can't remember my name
Bad bad brain
Bad bad brain
Bad bad brain...bad bad brain...

Brain Dead

Turn me off
Pull the plug
Leave me with some dignity
I am not
What I was
And I dont need the sympathy
Alive inside me
No one can hear me
Brain dead
Im not
Brain dead
Sentenced
Forgot
Paralysed
In my shell
Enduring every
Endless day
Immobilized
On my back
Aware of everything
They say
Extricate me
Eliminate me
Brain dead
Im not
Brain dead
Drip fed
Forgot
I cant blink my eye or cry
Or even speak
They crowd around my bed
Condescending words are said
Thinking I dont hear or know
What is going on - hello!
Cant you suckers hear my cries
From inside Im still alive
Its my decision to abort
Turn off the goddamn life support
Let me pass
From this world
So I fade away in peace
Comprehending
Unrelenting
Brain dead
Im not
Brain dead
Sentenced
Forgot
Brain dead
Im not
Brain dead
Drip fed
Forgot

As A Perfume

As a perfume doth remain
In the folds where it hath lain,
So the thought of you, remaining
Deeply folded in my brain,
Will not leave me: all things leave me:
You remain.

Other thoughts may come and go,
Other moments I may know
That shall waft me, in their going,
As a breath blown to and fro,
Fragrant memories: fragrant memories
Come and go.

Only thoughts of you remain
In my heart where they have lain,
Perfumed thoughts of you, remaining,
A hid sweetness, in my brain.
Others leave me: all things leave me:
You remain.

A mystery

Eyes don’t see.
With them I see.
Ears don’t hear.
With them I hear.
Who is the doer of I?
If it is mind
Where does it stay?
If it stays in brain,
Does it control the brain?
If so, don’t you doze
When you drive or
When you watch night play
Against your will?
Who controls then brain?
It must be something,
Neither corporal nor emotional.
Can it be soul?
Can it be genes?
A mystery unsolved.

Mind Searching

I was drifting through the chambers
of imagination, deep in my mind,
searching desperately for inspiration,
but it was proving so hard to find.

Visions of nonsense appeared,
as a smoke screen in my head.
It seemed the brain was delaying
creative ideas from being read.

Imbalances of clouded colour
flooded the chambers of my mind.
One by one, thoughts became stifled,
visualization I couldn’t find.

For some strange unknown reason
there was disagreement in my head.
Mind and brain were in turmoil
until the problem was sorted.

Attempts by the brain to cloud my mind
this time thankfully failed.
Inspiration is now clearly flowing,
but next time, which will prevail.

Gain Using Brain

Think carefully thrice
Throw decisions' dice
On the fine brain-floor
Success will knock at your door

You must be brave
Do not think about the grave
Surely from worry-fever
You will soon recover

The World you must leave
But before leaving, you must leave
Principles for ambitious youth
Living in East, West, North and south

Make cowardice face death
For this stop fear's breath
Valuable thoughts you must contribute
Forever then the World will pay tribute

If thought -fertilizers are scant
How can grow brain-plant?
Let brain make the right move
Then only obstacles you can remove

Wonderful plans brain can easily invent
Any hardship it can surely circumvent
A sharp brain is hard-work's gift
For coming up in life, it is the lift

Man has developed great cultures
Remain the same all other creatures
The obvious reason is brain
Thinking is to the brain grain

Life-river when you cross
Hindrances will come across
So skilfully construct the brain-bridge
Keep guiding thought-boards in the edge

If brain remains dull and negative
How can actions become superlative?
Brain is the basic root
That gives sweet success-fruit

If life-land is arid
Sweat can help get rid
Of aridity which is a success -killer
Provided brain becomes an expert-tiller.

Too Much To Think About

Sister help take this pain from my heart
Help me stand up and find out whats right
Dont want to exist here in the dark
When the gates of eden offer so much light
But theres too much to think about
Too many problems in my brain
Yeah, theres too much to think about
How could I ever make up my mind
Young man lay down your guns
And hold your woman in your arms
The concretes not worth dying fo
They say theres more to this life
But theres too much to think about
Too many problems in my brain
Yeah, theres too much to think about
How could I ever make up my mind
So what am I living for
They say the truth is not hard to find
Its right here in front of my eyes
If I could just open my heart sometimes
But theres too much to think about
Too many problems in my brain
Yeah, theres too much to think about
How could I ever make up my mind
But theres too much to think about
Too many problems in my brain
Yeah, theres too much to think about
How could I ever make up my mind
Make up my mind
Make up my mind
Make up make up my mind
Make up make up my mind

Crazy Me

Am I crazy? Maybe I am?
In everything I give my heart soul as hard as I can
So I over think, whirling brain analyses a lot
But does that mean I’ve lost the plot
Others give up when they don’t understand
But I remain questioning an answer I demand
So does this really make me mad
Looking for answers that won’t be had
My mind it turns round and round
Searching for answers not to be found
When people leave and they move on
I my brain seeks to understand what Ive done wrong
However much I try to understand they don’t speak
But does that make me crazy and weak
I look at life and things happening in the world
And question if the truth, peace ever be heard
Some call me crazy that is true
And maybe I am still mad to you
But I guess at the end of the day
I’m me crazy like it or not I’m this way

I Believe

Give me a reason
Why it's time to call it quits
Give me a reason
And I don't believe a bit
Give me a reason
To never let you go
Give me a reason
I've always told you so
I believe, yes I believe
Refrain:
I believe in me and you
Give me a reason
For the need of changing me
Give me a reason
I'll never change indeed
Give me a reason and I will call it quits
The mirror might be broken but
I know how to fix it
I believe, yes I believe
Refrain:
I believe in me and you
Four seasons in a year
One reason makes it clear
Im not the one receiving
I guess you dont oppose
I know were getting close
Im the one retrieving
Cause I believe!
Refrain:
I believe in me and you

Sonnet IX: As Other Men

As other men, so I myself do muse
Why in this sort I wrest invention so,
And why these giddy metaphors I use,
Leaving the path the greater part do go.
I will resolve you: I am lunatic,
And ever this in madmen you shall find,
What they last thought of when the brain grew sick
In most distraction they keep that in mind.
Thus talking idly in this bedlam fit,
Reason and I, you must conceive, are twain;
"Tis nine years now since first I lost my wit;
Bear with me then, though troubled be my brain.
With diet and correction men distraught
(Not too far past) may to their wits be brought.

Mad Kow

I'm watchin' and waitin'
I'm disintegratin'
I know that you'd hear me
If you could come near me
But no one can save me now
I'm lost just like a cow
Madness, burnin' inside my brain
I'm fallin' to pieces
Breakin' my leases
I know that you'd hear me
If you could come near me
But no one can save me now
I'm lost just like a cow
Madness, burnin' inside my brain, my brain
I know that you'd hear me
If you could come near me
But no one can save me now
I'm lost just like a cow
Madness burnin' inside my brain, my brain
Oooooooooooo, oooooooooooo
Oooooooooooo, oooooooooooo
Oooooooooooo, oooooooooooo

We Grow And We Die

May we die as we have delivered,
Natures of the brain are compact;
Nested in the rights of Our Word
Is the brilliant brain and the well-spoken heart.
May we die like the spring and not winter;
Offered to the mind is the brain,
For they both grow with each other,
Finding strength to resolve a certainty
That we have delivered.
The death of someone is a brain,
The mind has much to consider.

Feeling, Colour And Meaning

Cannot see myself doing routine work today
cannot understand why this life on this planet
in this universe, feeling spiritually blind means
I cannot find a reason to do boring things - yet
my body breathes mindlessly, I am the ghost in
the machine seeking wisdom and insight as I can-
not feel anything and nothing has inherent priority

I simply follow the dictates of time to move through
this day to get to the end in order to be at leisure to
wonder some more, the day becomes one long maths
sum and I cannot do it, religion and spiritualists teach
we know the answers in advance and work backwards
from the end back to the beginning where I am sitting
now, but this knowledge does not help, I am still stuck

With a brain that cannot fulfil its function of relating to
the reality outside its own enclosure, my mind only exits
in short explosive flames of understanding which imme-
diately disappears leaving the inner me in darkness, I
love the ability to enact stories and plays yet cannot
create a script for today, left with shadows only I
long for feeling, colour and meaning

What I Call It

I had a brain injury.
I have a brain injury.
I injured my brain.
There.
I said it four times.

Wrote poem once about
a moth flew round light
in circles till dead.
It
flies through my mind still,
time after time.
Afraid.
What I've lost.
Not quite the same.
Does it matter?

Don't think.

Please Keep Repeating

Do you find,
That your mind,
Doesn't hold,
Information told.

What's to do,
Makes one blue,
Mind's depleting,
Please keep repeating.

Can't slot things in,
To 'My Computer Bin',
In the memory section,
Can't make a connection.

Need robotic brain,
Should I retrain? ,
Before it's too late.
Say that again, Mate?
