Shadows

Beside the Narrow Crossing-Place
(And night was falling gray),

Two Shadows met, the legends tell. .
Each Shadow went its way.

But there was anguish in their eyes,
And tears in both their hearts.

Beside the Narrow Crossing-Place,
Where Shade from Shadow parts.

For they had seen the Rising Sun

In opal and in rose,
For they had seen the Rising Sun,

Who saw the long day close.

And had they met at Mom or Noon
Who met the shades between?

Ay! had they met at Morn or Noon
And so — the Might-Have-Been !

Solomon To Sheba

SANG Solomon to Sheba,
And kissed her dusky face,
'All day long from mid-day
We have talked in the one place,
All day long from shadowless noon
We have gone round and round
In the narrow theme of love
Like a old horse in a pound.-
To Solomon sang Sheba,
Plated on his knees,
'If you had broached a matter
That might the learned please,
You had before the sun had thrown
Our shadows on the ground
Discovered that my thoughts, not it,
Are but a narrow pound.'
Said Solomon to Sheba,
And kissed her Arab eyes,
'There's not a man or woman
Born under the skies
Dare match in learning with us two,
And all day long we have found
There's not a thing but love can make
The world a narrow pound.'

In the shadow of Your wing

There's a place where safety resides,
Where I can hide from all my enemies,
There's a place where The Father gracefully provides,
Where I can hear Victor's melody.

There's a place where any scar is healed,
And all my tears are wiped away,
There's a place where my soul with peace is filled,
A place where I would always happily stay.

To that place, I often run,
I lay down my fears and woes,
I enjoy the rising sun,
And my new white as snow clothes.

In the shadow of Your wings,
The safest place I have known,
Beside the still waters and the cooling springs,
In the shadow of Your wings, never alone.

When the storms of life are coming,
When the winds so angry roar,
When I feel my world is crashing,
I dream of that Golden Shore.

Antidote for J.T.Ellison

Before me lies a narrow road
with hedges, high on either side.
With only sunlight for my load
I am content to boldly stride

I care not where the road may lead
but I am sure it leads somewhere.
That’s knowledge that I do not need
I am not burdened down by care.

For two whole weeks I am quite free.
I chose a walking holiday.
There is so much I wish to see.
How could there be a better way

The sun is warming on my back.
My shadow always runs ahead
on metalled roads or dusty track
and I must follow where I’m led.

Once noon is passed I start to look
I am not fussy not at all
A wayside on or sheltered nook
protected by a dry stone wall.

My sleeping bag is very light
but waterproof and warm withal.
I do not fear the fall of night.
I’ll sleep lulled by the night birds call.

The first rays of the rising sun
will serve in place of my alarm.
Then I will rise and carry one
and breakfast at some friendly farm.

I have sufficient cash to pay
for what I need as I pass through
small villages along the way.
Where I may spend an hour or two.

Or stay the night If I so choose.
I have no deadline I must keep.
My ready cash they won’t refuse
I’m sure to find a place to sleep.

But holidays like all good things
come to an end eventually.
But until them my heart still sing
as I store up new memories.

I must return and be confined
in narrow grimy city streets.
Which seem to me to be designed
for those weighed down by life’s defeats.

I am refreshed and ready to
endure the drabness of each day
with brick walls limiting my view.
Remembering my holiday.

Shadows

There are two of me
One does the right thing,
One cannot see.
Standing back to back,
Who is the strong one
In the last act?
Every path I take,
Roads I go down,
Choices I make,
Take me right between
Patches of light and
Darkness in me.
Oh, we have to keep
A watch on our shadows--
Every move
They secretly make.
We try to be
So close to heaven,
But then our shadows,
They run away.
They pull away.
Oh....
And the shadows prove,
Falling behind,
Tracing each move, oh,
When I do some wrong,
There is no hiding;
Shadows are long.
So we have to keep
A watch on our shadows--
Every move (every move)
They secret make, yeah, yeah,
We try to be
So close to heaven, (mmmm....)
But then our shadows,
Pull us away.
They pull away....
We have to keep
A watch on our shadows--
Every move (ooooh....)
They secretly make, yeah,
We try to be
So close to heaven,
But then our shadows,
They pull us away.
Oh, we have to keep
A watch on our shadows--
Every move (oooh....) they secretly make, yeah,
We try to be
So close to heaven,
But then our shadows
Pull us away.
Pull us away.
Pull us away.
(ha, hu ha, oh no, cha cha.
Oh no, gotta keep our watch.
Keepin it under my shadow.
Oh no, gotta keep our watch.
On my shadow.
Oh no, gotta keep our watch.
Keepin it under my shadow.
Oh no, gotta keep our watch.
Keepin it under my shadow.
Oh no, gotta keep our watch.
Keepin it under my shadow.
Oh no, gotta keep our watch.
On my shadow.
Oh no, gotta keep our watch.
Keepin it under my shadow.
Oh no, gotta keep our watch.
Keepin it under my shadow.)

Shadows Thinning Out

you all know
that the shadow thins out at noontime

at high noon
the shadow and the body become one

there is no more speculation
about why the shadow and the body are different

on extreme light
you see the truth casting no shadows of doubt

something false flashes not shadow
at this moment

such thing happens on the power of the stare
when an eye looks straight to another eye

when the other sobs into a cry
then the telling of the true story begins.

Nightlife When Theres A Murder

deep in the nights
shadows that is where
i stay, darting and crossing
that is where the shadows play
sometimes they're scary sometimes
they're nice depends on the night
depends on the life once in a while
me and a shadow sit and watch
the bright moon with its blazing crevices
and splits but now i am running away
from something real its hunting me down
and as i run my foot gets caught i go down without a thought
and their they are standing over me they take me to a place i will
never forget a small cabin that was a small fit now i am dead without
a cry they bound my mouth and left me to die

At the River-Crossing

Oh! the quiet river-crossing
Where we twain were wont to ride,
Where the wanton winds were to sing
Willow branches o'er the tide.

There the golden noon would find us
Dallying through the summer day,
All the waery world behind us -
All it's tumult far away.

Oh! thoe rides across the crossing
Where the shallow stream runs wide,
When the sunset's beams were glossing
Strips of sand on either side.

We would cross the sparkling river
On the brown horse and the bay;
Watch the willows sway and shiver
And their trembling shadows play.

When the opal tints waxed duller
And a gray crept o'er the skies
Yet there stayed the blue sky's color
In your dreamy dark-blue eyes.

How the sun-god's bright caresses,
When we rode at sunet there,
Plaited among your braided tresses,
Gleaming on your silky hair.

When the last sunlight's glory
Faded off the sandy bars,
There we learnt the old, old story,
Riding homeward 'neat the stars.

'Tis a memory to be hoarded -
Oh, the follish tale and fond!
Till another stream be forded -
And we reach the Great Beyond.

Dark the shadows haunt the night

If I began to cry
The tears would never end
If I lowered my guard
Then how could I defend?

From every side the walls close in
And there is no place that you could stand
That would hide you from this world
And all that it demands

Whoever said that life was fair
Has not lived long enough
When the path takes you along the edge
You'll see them fall off the bluff

But the problem is
If your guard is high
You will wither away
And begin to die

How could something so small
Cast such a shadow on the land?
How was it that it stood so tall
Yet it was just a grain of sand?

I made my way through this world
With the Sun forever at my back
And the shadows went before me
And the shadow it was black

One grain of sand in my eye
Tormented me for many years
And I could never hope to fly
For I was blinded by my fears

Then Jesus came and turned me round
To face the rising Sun
His light it shone upon my face
And my journey had begun

When you walk into the Son
The shadows fall behind
The Sun removes the grain of sand
Now you're no longer blind

Who is your grain of sand my child
That made you stumble, made you fall?
In the light of Christ perhaps you'll find
That persons not so very tall

Dark the shadows haunt the night
That cause you to run and hide
Look to the Son that shines so bright
And He will shine that light inside

O to be filled with the light of Christ
And see the shadows disappear
To lift my eyes to heavens heights
And finally to shed a tear

Forgetting The Moon

i invite you
to sit upon a hill
under the acacia tree
to view the moon

it is full tonight
rising from the shadows of
the mountains

i hold your hand
and your long hair
touches my shoulder

we sit tonight
silently admiring the moon rising
from the shadows of the mountains

i gaze upon your eyes
and we kiss under the cool shade
of the acacia trees

after that night
i lay upon my bed inside my room
still thinking about you
and that kiss

i have forgotten about the full moon
rising from the shadows of the mountains

i am the poet
who first scribbles the most beautiful poem about you.

Inseparable (Shadow)

Where on earth
Will my shadow go
When on this earth
My time ceases to be?

Will it have
no place to go,
No other choice
but faithfully follow me?

Is there a place
Where shadows go
To spend
In eternity?

Or will my shadow
Shine finally,
And happily jump
In the box with me?

I truly hope
it comes along with me
When from this realm
I'm dispatched

It's never left my side, you see
I'm not sure it can live alone
I feel it's become a part of me
A part which I've become quite attached

So follow close behind…
close tight the lid my dark companion!
We've so many things yet to see…
Stardust, infinity, magic and mystery
My friend, my shadow…and me

Man’s best friends as crossing guards

The ashy dust settled gracefully
On the blue flame
While the supersonic train walked slowly
As if a glamorous fashion show was taken place
At the behest of the anorexic supermodel
Who got tripped on the narrow one way.

Like a thin thread, the man-made centipede
Waned effortlessly
Before acquainting
The passengers who stood perplexed
Despite the ken of the speed
Of this incredible flying machine.

Not too far from the kiosk of the train station
Two dogs came running like crossing guards
To stop two shy lads playing hooky
From crossing the dangerous tracks.

The Girl Who Loved Her Own Shadow

The girl who loved her own shadow
Once had a nightmare for all times.
She saw in it boys and men without shadows at all!
They were men indeed.

Men with muscles and moustaches as ever
But none had a shadow of their own!
Her father and brother were there
They too had no shadows of any size!

Scared and doomed she was
As she saw that her mother and elder sister
Too had either no shadows or they were very short!
But she saw her own shadow close to herself!

As the nightmare ended, she was seen
Lying in the flood of sweat.
But as she opened the window and she saw another sky
And her sun of resolution was there alone.

She walked along the gravel track
And saw and felt somebody following close to her.
It was her own shadow, another self of tall heights.
She was the first girl who loved her own shadow.

Look back never!
A shadow may be or may not be there.
Sleep not ever!
A dream and a nightmare chase us ever.

Sing Aurora Sing

See the symphony of light o’er the sea.
Softly the agony resends softly.
Free rising orb setting harmony free.
Brightly absorb with a song so brightly.

Aurora light from morning aurora.
Song of the night is now operas' song.
Flora delight; like blossoms of flora.
Long is the sight with emotions so long.

Rising crescendo with morning rising.
Serene innuendo leaves mind serene.
Surprising opera; light surprising.
Pristine genera of human pristine.

So open your heart let the light sing so.
Know symphony light, and your mind will know.

Crossing The Border

Hey, take it and run, child
Ill ask you no questions
We traded our fortunes
Crossing the border
I hope you got lucky
You needed a change
I--i made it without you
Crossing the border
We were like a couple of wetbacks running
Standin on the banks of some dangerous river
Lookin into a brave new country
Risky business
Crossing the border
Ahhh, you--you doubled my chances
I--i sure do want your freedom
I--Ill never forget you
Crossing the border
Back when we were out there
Crossing the border
Layin it on the line
Crossing the border

The Senators Daughter

Hockey teams have playoff dreams
Teenage girls red magazines
No one hears the despirate screams of the techno dj
What does he say?
He say
Sha la la la la la
He say
Sha la la la la la
Im floating away
On oceans of grey-blue water
Im rising above
Im falling in love with the senators daughter
Im floating away
On oceans of grey-blue water
Im rising above
Im falling in love with the senators daughter
Crossing gaurds star traffic jams
Soccer moms drive minivans
No one sees the anchor man on the instant replay
What does she say?
She say
Sha la la la la la
She say
Sha la la la la la
Im floating away

Shade and Shadow Dark and Night

Shade and Shadow
Dark and Night
Demons move
Beyond your sight
Moving slow
Cross the ground
Never do they make a sound
Shade and Shadow
Dark and Night
A murder has
Taken to flight
Stirring up the
Cold dead air
Does it matter?
Do you care?
Shade and Shadow
Dark and Night
Thoughts fill your mind
You think you might
These toughts they
Circle in your head
More and more you
Wish your dead
Shade and Shadow
Dark and Night
Capitulate
Give up the fight
It's too much effort
To go on
You're going
Going going gone

Rising Sun

On the street of villains taken for a ride
you can have the devil as a guide
crippled by the boundaries, programmed into guilt
'til your nervous system starts to tilt.
And in the room of mirrors you can see for miles
but everything that's there is in disguise
every word you've uttered and every thought you've had
is all inside your file, the good and the bad.
But in the rising sun you can feel your life begin
universe at play inside your DNA
you're a billion years old today
oh the rising sun and the place it's coming from
is inside of you and now your payment's overdue
oh the rising sun, oh the rising sun.
On the avenue of sinners I have been employed
working there 'til I was near destroyed
I was almost a statistic inside a doctor's case
when I heard the messenger from inner space
he was sending me a signal that so for long I had
ignored
but he held on to my umbilical cord
until the ghost of memory trapped in my body mind
came out of hiding to become alive.
And in the rising sun you can hear your life begin
and it's here and there nowhere and everywhere
though it's atmosphere is rare
oh the rising sun and the place that it's coming from
is inside of me and now I feel it constantly
oh the rising sun, oh the rising sun, oh the rising
sun.
But in the rising sun you can feel your life begin
universe at play inside your DNA
you're a billion years old today
oh the rising sun and the place it's coming from
is inside of you and now your payment's overdue
oh the rising sun, oh the rising sun, oh the rising
sun.

His Shadow

When I was young
the shadow he cast was long.
When I was afraid.
In his shadow I could be brave.

Walking together
watching his shadow by mine.
I yearned for the time
like his my shadow would be long.

As the fledgling finally
flies alone from the nest.
To step away from his shadow
my time came.

One day long after
my child at my side.
Two shadows I saw.
One long joined one small.

In my thoughts
I reflected to when
the longer shadow.
My father cast.

I realized
the time had come.
The father's shadow
now my shadow.

The Red Rose

The red rose wept for long
Upon the autumn sad song

And then recovered from grief
And shattered the wet green leaf

The spring is there but the tears
Of lover, the autumn how bears

The little heart in search of charm
Is beating and beating and warm

The red rose is watching the gloom
Of the lover’s heart being in boom

His beloved had nodded him back
The rose from him she does not take

The nature feeling warmth is now cold
The autumn will take him in firm hold

The beauty will go leaving the scars
Of drowning moon and falling stars

The thorns will curse the rose to retreat
The red rose weeps on nature’s treat

It doesn’t matter what have gone
The rose will wait for the dawn

The spring no more helps the friend
His beauty will shatter like wall of sand

His days of life will end very soon
At morn, at noon or after noon

The rose sees autumn in the spring
A wave of sorrow his end will bring

The red rose weeps and weeps more
Upon these tears his eyes will sore

No spring can stop, no joy can amaze
With each passing moment his death he chase

So times are when autumn comes in spring
No joy can touch you no nerve can sing

Sweet Love

Baby I want your body close, you on top of me, can you feel it
Im gonna make your body drip all over me,baby me inside of you
So take off all your clothes and throw them on the floor
You wont need them
Cuz I wanna give you every little thing you need and more
Let me tell you what you wanna do
I wanna make love , sweet love , all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right , dont let go of me
I wanna make love , sweet love, all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right dont let go of me
Baby I can give to you any way you like it
You just let me know
Im giving you the key so you can ride me fast or slow
Cuz on this ride of love , were gonna go
To places you and I aint never been before
Baby imagine me kissing all over you
Your bodys trembling, I know youre feeling me
Ooh I know its getting serious
And Im tired of being curious
Cuz my body is filled with lust
Cant take it no more bet you whisper ooooh
I wanna make love , sweet love , all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right , dont let go of me
I wanna make love , sweet love, all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right dont let go of me
I wanna make love , sweet love , all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right , dont let go of me
I wanna make love , sweet love, all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right dont let go of me
Girl the chemistry between us, I cant explain
I love to hear call my name
I can see it in your eyes that you want me too
Dont you be afraid of what Im bout to give to you
Girl the tears you cry are out of happiness
Pleasure instead of loneliness
Baby every single part of me inside of you
Pleasing you , pleasing you, make you scream louder
I wanna make love , sweet love , all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right , dont let go of me
I wanna make love , sweet love, all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right dont let go of me
