To Be Afflicted
Members,
Driving,
Previous,
To be afflicted!
Following the seven hills of Rome;
And like the Catholic Church with the Roman Army! !
But, with confused judgement all over the world today.
Rumours of wars!
Shaken,
Exceedingly,
Transgression,
Accounts,
But read it for yourself!
And from place to place;
Because, hatred had betrayed love on this earth today.

Compromise In Leadership
Media and Catholics
keep telling me
the Pope is the head
of the Roman
Catholic Church
for me God
Jesus the Holy Spirit
is the trinity head
of the Roman
Catholic Church.
Does the Pope
live up to his vast
responsibilities?
Show me
any man
or women
on earth
who lives up to vast
responsibilities?
Politics governments
compromise in leadership
compromise corrupts.
Who has not heard
"all power corrupts"
"absolute power corrupts
absolutely"?
The touchstone
of accountability
was is Ten Commandments
given directly by God.
This was is yardstick
measure to apply
to leadership
politics religion
all decisions.
But rogue rulers
leaders governments
have discarded
the Ten Commandments.
Historically over history
globally like dominoes
all such Empires
all when corruption
endemic infuses
any organization society.
Either there is repentance
restoration of justice
human rights applied for all
a return to divine
inspired God's laws.
Or arrogance injustice
animates bedrock
common foundation families
shaped building blocks
comprising all societies.
What blood
price compromise
World War Two
Roman Catholic Church
Sacred Pope Vatican City
Nazi Germany Hitler treaty
in total innocent
European lives lost?
What blood guilt
judgement
awaits from God?

The dog of God
No pet that ever plays around
and lays its head
down on a prayer mat,
or hunting dog that sniffing
follows the track,
rather he is a wolf
that rips apart in hate
when he gets the sent of blood.
Still, certainly he is unique
armoured like a dragon
with fire that devours
when he opens his mouth.
How many girls
did he fry as witches
and for how many men of God
fire was his resort?
Even for Jeanne d'Arc
that with help from above
(or so she believed)
tried to rescue her nation,
there was no absolution
and fire was his word and law.
[Reference: Die hond van God by NP van Wyk Louw. “Domini canes” – “The dogs of the Lord” – is how Roman Catholic Dominicans are known and to whom the leaders of the Inquisition primary belonged. This verse illustrates how easily man can make mistakes, where the church and state are one. Who reads this verse as an assault on the Roman Catholic Church misinterprets it.]

Rumour Has It
Spoken:
Rumour, rumour hear all about it
Rumour has it and i'm gonna shout it
Rumour, rumour hear all about it
Rumour has it and i have got to shout it
Thank you so much alright
Now i'll tell you what i heard
Rumour has it all around the town
Someone's looking for a girl like me
Where can she be found
I hope it's who i think it is
I wonder if it's really him
It's got to be the man i love
No one else but him
There's a rumour, rumour has it
There's a rumour
They say he's gonna make this girl his everything
He's gonna love her and surround her
With all those beautiful things
It was the most wonderful moment in my life i had
My life ended on that evening
I lost him, lord it hurt so bad
There's a rumour, rumour has it
There's a rumour
You never know just what you've won until you've lost
And the object of the game is not to pay the cost
Anyone can play the game, there are no rules
And you never know just what you've won until you lose
There's a rumour, there's a rumour
Rumour has it
There's a rumour, there's a rumour
Rumour has it, rumour has it
There's a rumour, there's a rumour
There's a rumour, such a rumour

When In Rome
Well, you must be from the city
'Cause you sure ain't from round here
There ain't no smoke free section
We don't sell no import beer.
You been throwin' round that attitude
Since you walked in that door
I don't know where you come from
But you ain't there anymore
When in Rome,
You can do like the Roman's
But, when your down home
You better do like us.
You been lookin' down your nose
At our water tower town
Ain't no one getting rich
But, there's enough to go around.
If ya don't like tracy's cookin'
Well, ya best still leave a tip
She's back there in that kitchen
With a baby on her hip.
When in Rome,
You can do like the Roman's
But, when your down home
You better do like us.
You put your best foot forward
When you go to meet a man
Look him in the eye
And put a good grip on his hand.
Don't cuss around the ladies
Tell us how to raise our kids
We like doing business
Like our daddys, daddys did.
When you drive off in your beamer
If ya don't do 35
Don't give no lip to Beuford
Or he might just dot your eye.
And when your at the courthouse
Before Ole judge McCall
You best not say a word
About them comandments on his wall.
Naw!
When in Rome,
You can do like the Roman's
But when your down home
You better do like us.
Yeah, Yeah Yeah
When in Rome,
You can do like the Roman's
But when your down home
You better do like us.
Mmmm Hmmmm
Better do like us boy
Don't you come in here talking all that trash
Ya just might get your nose smashed.
When in Rome,
You can do like the Roman's...

Rome
O thou newcomer who seek’st Rome in Rome
And find’st in Rome no thing thou canst call Roman;
Arches worn old and palaces made common
Rome’s name alone within these walls keeps home.
Behold how pride and ruin can befall
One who hath set the whole world ’neath her laws,
All-conquering, now conquered, because
She is Time’s prey, and Time conquereth all.
Rome that art Rome’s one sole last monument,
Rome that alone hast conquered Rome the town,
Tiber alone, transient and seaward bent,
Remains of Rome. O world, thou unconstant mime!
That which stands firm in thee Time batters down,
And that which fleeteth doth outrun swift Time.

Postcard From Paris
(Webb)
Dear friend of mine, the weather's fine. Today I saw some ruins of the Roman world's decline.
And I climbed all those Spanish steps, you've heard of them, no doubt.
But Rome has lost its glory, I don't know what it's about.
I wish you were here (when the shadows fall and all the rushing traffic stills).
I wish you were here (And the bells are ringing on the seven hills).
I make my way to a small caf, I wonder what you did today.
Wish you were here, dear one at home, I just flew in from Rome.
And Paris is a postcard, all decked out in color chrome.
And so I climbed the Eiffel Tower and prayed at Notre Dame,
but I just can't find the romance and I wonder why I came.
I wish you were here (On the Champs Elysees, lovers walking hand in hand).
I wish you were here (They take one look at me and seem to understand).
This city of light is a lovely sight, the first bright star I see tonight.
Wish you were here, now I write this from the plane, drinking cheap champagne.
Wondering why two people got so far apart.
I wish you were here (Here in London where the rain is pouring down).
I wish you were here (On this airplane headed back to New York town).
I'll never leave you alone again, I'm coming home, but until then,
Wish you were here, wish you were here, wish you were here.

Where a Roman Villa Stood, Above Freiburg
On alien ground, breathing an alien air,
A Roman stood, far from his ancient home,
And gazing, murmured,
'Ah, the hills are fair,
But not the hills of Rome!'
Descendant of a race to Romans-kin,
Where the old son of Empire stood, I stand.
The self-same rocks fold the same valley in,
Untouched of human hand.
Over another shines the self-same star,
Another heart with nameless longing fills,
Crying aloud, 'How beautiful they are,
But not our English hills!'

The Catholic church does, for some people, leave lots of scars. And I have to say I didn't come out smiling from my Catholic childhood. I had lots of problems, you know, lots of hang-ups. But you get over it and get on with life. Whatever was good, take that with you. Whatever was bad, get over it, get it out of your head, leave it behind. And that's what I think I did. I don't go to church very much any more, you know.
