The War In You
Stealing is wrong,
But try to give out what you have in order to help someone else;
For you spent 99 days in Agege and someone else spent 99 years in prison.
Stop the war in you and do the right thing always,
For that which was sweet is now sour! !
But let your 'no' be 'no' and your 'yes' be 'yes',
And respecting others rights benefits you and as well as them.

I've Spent To Long
I've spent to long not caring,
I've spent to long away,
And now you want me back,
To live just like before,
You want to take my hand again,
You want my love to stay,
But I've spent to long not caring,
And my love it flew away.
I've spent to long in solitude,
I've spent to long in hope,
And now you want me in your arms,
To stay and hold you close,
You want to take my love again,
Feel despair take it's place,
But I've spent to long in solitude,
And you've lost this blood soaked race.
I've spent to long not caring,
Spent to long away,
Spent to long denying,
I've spent to long awake,
And now you want my slumber,
You want a love to stay,
But I've spent to long not caring,
And love? It fades away.

Moral Individual Decisions
At Teacher’s College in Christchurch New Zealand years ago.
The tutor gave us teacher trainee students a moral lesson.
She said ‘If a student asks you a teacher this moral question.’
‘Is it wrong to steal? ’ You must answer the student thus.
‘There is no right or wrong each person decides by individual right.’
‘No right or wrong? ’ ‘Really? ’ ‘The laws are not written so.’
Stealing is a crime prison is conviction caught punishment.
Crime does not pay ultimately bursting packed prisons say.
‘So is stealing right or wrong? ’ Crime is ticking time bomb.
To break laws a serious state offense prison sentenced penitence.
Moral individual decisions politically correct concept gone astray.

Consider Me
I wonder if you think of me
Now and then, now we're apart.
Do memories of bygone days
Make you smile and warm your heart?
Do you ever stop to wonder
If I'm happy, or sad and blue?
Are you curious to know if I
Am thinking of you, too?
Did those years we spent together
Leave their mark on you at all? ...
Well, just pick up the phone, my darling...
And give your old mother a call! ! !

30 Days Out
We fell in love and I made you the world
I spent all my time tryin to satisfy you, girl
Just one thing that I cant figure out [? ]
Closer I get, farther baby I am out [? ]
30 days, 30 days out
Well Im six days runnin but Im 30 days out
30 days, 30 days out
With every kiss you leave a little shadow of doubt
The roof was leakin honey where we live
And Im wonderin whats that something that you wont give
I started loving you but I gotta stop
You got me mostly waitin for that other shoe to drop
30 days, 30 days out
You keep me six days runnin but Im 30 days out
30 days, 30 days out
With every kiss you leave a little shadow of doubt
Tried to talk about whats goin on
You just smile and tell me baby there aint nothin wrong
In your smile theres a sign in red
It said thousand miles of hard road dead ahead
30 days, 30 days out
Yeah Im six days runnin but Im 30 days out
30 days, 30 days out
With every kiss you leave a little shadow of doubt
30 days, 30 days out
Well Im six days runnin but Im 30 days out
30 days, 30 days out
With every kiss you leave a little shadow of doubt

Spent Lonely Days
They are very different
These spent lonely days
They leave a terrible mark
On the person who spent
Those lonely days.
Spent lonely days
Are quite likely
To be
Days of inactivity
For inactivity
Is a major reason, you see
Why people are lonely.

Short Shrift
‘I’ve failed! ’ How many times have sons
And fathers’ fathers echoed me?
‘I’ve failed! My life was spent in dreams, ’
We said, ‘in shallow misery.
In dreams and steel and soot and grime,
In screams, and what would seem some crime
Of trying to live beyond our need...
Our lives were spent in some black creed! ’
‘Too short, too short, the days we spent
In trying to right the days before,
Too long, too long, the years we struggled
Knowing not what struggled for.
What goal, what aim, what discontent,
What loves we lost, what life we spent
In wondering what such life could be?
Short shrift for you - harsh words for me! ’
‘I’ve failed, my sons, I’ve failed you all
And so my failure tortures me,
As in that innocence divine
Your love loves all the failed in me.
If I could strip this flesh, or tear
These eyes that cried hot fire for you
To save you from the same despair
My father’s father brought me to...’

Everything I Own
everything i own
You sheltered me from harm
Kept me warm, you kept me warm
You gave my life to me
You set me free, set me free
Of all the years i ever knew
Those finer ones i spent with you
I would give everything i own
Give up my life, my heart, my home
I would give everything i own
Just to have you back again
You taught me how to cry
I don't know why, just don't know why
You told those lies to me
You set me free, set me free
Of all the years i ever knew
Those finer ones i spent with you
I would give everything i own
Give up my life, my heart, my home
I would give everything i own
Just to have you back again
Just to hold you once again
If there's someone you know
That won't let you go
And is taking it all for granted
You may lose them one day
Someone take them away
And you don't hear a word they say
I would give everything i own
Give up my life, my heart, my home
I would give everything i own
Just to have you back again

The Love Of God The End Of Life
Since life in sorrow must be spent,
So be it--I am well content,
And meekly wait my last remove,
Seeking only growth in love.
No bliss I seek, but to fulfil
In life, in death, thy lovely will;
No succours in my woes I want,
Save what thou art pleased to grant.
Our days are numbered, let us spare
Our anxious hearts a needless care:
'Tis thine to number out our days;
Ours to give them to thy praise.
Love is our only business here,
Love, simple, constant, and sincere;
O blessed days, thy servants see,
Spent, O Lord! in pleasing thee!

My kisses try to reach your eyes but fail,
I feel like a kid who has spent his life in jail.

And the days are unending.

Happy ending
She spent her life worrying over everyone
She spent her days trying to get her kids the life they wanted
She spent her nights trying to convince her husband not to leave
She tried everything
But it never worked
Her worries never went away
Her kids ended up with dead-end lives
Her husband ended up with a 23 year old blonde
And all she wanted was a happy ending

Peretti's Dreamer
Reality bites with its wicked sharp teeth
Yet, another day of emptiness spent
Eating me alive with its caustic erosion
Each moment- another hour despondent;
The Sound looks so vast these days
It dwarfs Bainbridge and Vashon Islands green
Loving you all these years has been fathomless at times
Even though this depth has been unseen;
The Emerald City cries your name
The Evergreen States knows we are not one
Should it have been? And why wasn't it?
Questions, i ask when day is done;
A fortune in time has been spent in loving you
Far away and forever gone from me?
Surely you must have felt it over the years
Alas, as Puget Sound-your destination-The Sea;

After All These Years
Turn around.
Don't show me your back,
Give me eye contact.
Stop staring at the ground.
You wanted me to be honest.
And honesty I've given.
You wanted me to give love complete.
I'm here to deliver,
Both bitter and sweet.
Don't shut me out!
Let me in.
Help me to understand.
What have I said...
For you to lower and shake your head?
If I am wrong,
Tell me now.
Open up and communicate.
Don't be like that.
I want to comprehend.
Don't give me a cold shoulder.
Over something I'm sure,
Wont happen again.
Can you for once not be so stubborn?
What did I say to offend?
Turn around.
Don't show me your back,
Give me eye contact.
Stop staring at the ground.
I was teasing when I said,
Your head is like cement!
But don't give me the silent treatment.
Or reason to initiate another argument.
Anything but that silence!
That silence you can prevent.
'Okay! Okay...you win! '
Again!
For 'whatever' it was...
That started this 'nonsense' of yours,
To begin!
'Nonsense?
You spent my last twenty dollars,
On lottery tickets?
And you say that is 'NONSENSE? '
YEAH!
But I won a hundred dollars.
'Why did you not say that in the first place? '
Well...
You still have such a terrific behind.
And after all these years...
I took a moment or two,
Of my time to bide...and ponder!

Willingly bequeathing
I earned more than I spent.
I spent more time to earn
And less time to have respite.
I leave enough wealth behind.
I don’t wish that I spent.
I don’t regret I didn’t spend.
I willingly bequeath
Lest kids should suffer and curse.

Whats Goin On Here?
Roll me over slowly, Ive been drinkin all night,
Help me make a move, I cant stand the light.
Wake me, shake me, dont slam the door.
I aint been so bad, I just cant recall.
Spent the night chasin up a listed old flame,
Lyin on the floor I cant remember her name.
I cant stay here, theres something wrong here.
Whats goin onhere?
Went downtown, had a long way to go.
How I got there, well, I dont know.
Found myself sittin in a west side bar,
Tried to leave but I could not go far.
High class woman tryn to give me a line,
Should have left early when I felt so fine.
I cant stay here, theres something wrong here.
Whats goin on here?
When they closed up the bar, you know, they left me for dead.
I cant remember a thing I said.
Must have called the police to take me away.
They said, forty days, now Ive got to pay.
Spent the night chasin up a listed old flame,
Lyin on the floor I cant remember my name.
I cant get together while theyre messin with me,
Keep on lookin round, tell me where can I be.
I cant stay here, theres something wrong here.
Whats goin on here?
