The Race

Nature caught me uo and satan thought that she has won the race!
But like the story of the hare and the tortoise,
I moved on gradually with this motto in my mind: 'Slow but sure'!
And i finally won the race and i was presented the cup.

Their Race Yet Not Over(Kyrielle Poem)

a narrative, it tells a story.
stanzaic, in quatrains.
syllabic, each line is 8 syllables. in iambic tetrameter.
written with a refrain in the 4th line of the quatrain.
rhyme scheme may vary. Quatrain options abaB, cbcB, dbdB

Their race yet not over with that
Else way tortoise as thought to race
To run, to swim in halves, to work-
Agreed the hare willing to race

Starting speeded with hare on land
Plodding slowed with tortoise to race
To help the river came on hand
Swam fast tortoise won first the race

Knowing not to swim the hare lost
Foolish was his challenge to race
Judging oneself the best way last
Is the way best to win the race

Tortosise and the Hare: The true story

So you think tortoise
won the race,
not so.

Today the last
of Hare's descendants
passed on.

Oh his death
bed from his
lips came this,

my great, great
so many grandfather
was bribed,

to throw the race,
to the Tortoise
by the way of carrots,

his greatest weakness
you didn't really think
the Tortoise could have
won do you. Then he passed on.

Separate From Me

“Separate from me, ” said Abraham to Lot,
“our people cannot coexist with one another.”
Lot chose to live in Sodom, where it’s very hot,
and said to Abraham: “It really doesn’t bother
me that all the people there are dreadful sinners.”
Its nightlife influenced him to be the city’s chooser.
Some people do not have a knack for picking winners,
but do not pity Lot. Although he was a loser
who nearly fried to death and lay with both his daughters,
he ended up the ancestor of Israel’s kings,
when Ruth the Moabite caught up with Boaz, tortoise
that breaks its safety shell and flies with wifely wings.
This is a story that we learn in Aesop’s fables,
relating how the tortoise overtook the hare;
Boaz was a hare who didn’t care for labels,
thought anti-Ruth discrimination wasn’t fair.
In ancient Athens ostracism was ten-yearly,
a ritual that allowed return, recalling Lot’s
descendant who returned to Abraham sincerely,
by tying nuptial knots while cutting Gordian knots.

Confidence

(words & music by tepper - bennett)
When everyone thought the world was flat
Columbus said its round
He went down in history
And america was found
cause
He had confidence
A little thing called confidence
Theres no job too immense when youve got
Confidence
With a c and an o and an n and an f
And an I and a d and an ence
Put em all together and what have you got
Confidence
Youll be surprised what you can do
If you will only try
Remember the tortoise and the hare
Who had that famous race
The speedy hare wound up nowhere
And slow poke took first place
cause
He had confidence
A little thing called confidence
Theres no job too immense when youve got
Confidence
Youll be surprised what you can do
If you will only try
How do you know that you cant ride a rainbow in the sky
Youll be surprised what you can do
If you will only try
All you need is confidence
A little thing called confidence
Theres no job too immense when youve got
Confidence
With a c and an o and an n and an f
And an I and a d and an ence
Put em all together and what have you got
Confidence
Confi ..... confi .... confidence

Emotions Walk

Sorrow took the bus
to town and met
Happy at the square
but Happy was too busy
so Sorrow went on
vacation with Solitude
who though a bit crazy
was quite a listener, dude
Sorrow decided to change
his name and so became
Relieved, Relieved ran
a marathon with Happy
hare, and Sorrow the
tortoise like snail, Relieved
was not in the perpetual
competition between the
Tortoise and the Hare
and reflected the scenery
better to the spectators there

There is no ice that will never melt

There is no ice that will never melt
Slowly, gradually
Though freeze to sleep forever
Or not be moved by emotion
Slowly, gradually
It’s not needed fire arms
It’s not needed the right law
Only time
Slowly, gradually
The cold drips in my hands
Like a burning candle
Like a bleeding body
Gone into puddle

There is no ice that will never melt
Slowly, gradually
Will it be a thin hope
Or silent word
Slowly, gradually
It’s not needed genius mind
It’s not needed global warning
Only time
Slowly, gradually
The crystal vanishes in my hands
Like a crying stone
Like a dying swan
Gone into water

Mindset(Short Rondel)

It's my mindset to keep going
Like the tortoise won the racing
Being slow and steady throughout
Though slow I go steady devout
Running firm towards my target
It's my mindset

I'm proud never to lose my game
Unlike the hare that slept with shame
But to win focussed at my goal
To give my best of poetic role..
It's my mindset

One’s strength is in one’s weakness.

Beautiful Mind

Dwelling in the crown
creating illusions through imagination
raising hopes and expectations
causing perplexity and confusion
an illusion as real as the truth
and the truth subject to perception
good and evil both vie for the supremacy
like the tortoise and the hare respectively
thoughts and actions playing in their hands
abetting the fight sometimes
clouding the sunshine
but not always.
Righteous
ultimately seeking the right path slowly
casting away the seven sins
the mind wins
like the tortoise.

The Tortoise (Love Poem)

This girl came to my party,
And petted my tortoise,
In nineteen sixty four,
When I was eight, and
No-one noticed, not even me.

She still complains today
That she missed out on
Her jelly and ice-cream,
When she was seven, and
No one noticed, not even me.

I think when ten years later this
Beautiful blonde said yes, she
Would be mine, and is today, this
Tortoise slow was still around, and
No one noticed, not even me.

I tell our children now grown-up,
That I have found a tortoise is
The perfect way to find the girl,
Who will be yours forever, when
You are eight and she is seven.

God’s Story of Grace

This darkened world and all its fury, is not the end of God’s Story,
In a world, which gets darker friend, as you page down to the end.
A story that began with three, God, The Son and Spirit of Eternity,
When God’s creation was so right; a Paradise of Peace and Light.

When God created all He would, He said to Christ “it is very good.”
In God’s perfection at its very best, the devil entered in with a test,
To deceive the very heart of man, in an attempt to foil God’s plan.
But, His plan did not end at all, when Satan caused man’s evil fall.

For Grace now enters the story; this for man, and for God’s Glory,
As God determines Satan’s fall, through The Son, The Lord of All.
Satan resolute to deceive all men, by Eternal God, is condemned,
And soon will be cast forevermore, into an eternal fire by our Lord.

However, Grace for us will surely last, long after Satan’s been cast,
The Grace from God, that we receive, when in Christ we do believe.
A Grace which God gives to us, who in God’s Son, place their trust,
To save us from the one destiny, that Satan and his angels will see.

So the story that began in Paradise, lead The Son to be a sacrifice,
As our Savior on a wicked tree, moved by His love for you and me,
To grant all believers Eternal Life, through The Savior, Jesus Christ,
Who shall take us out of this night, into life everlasting, in His Light.

A Notebook And Its Cover

I sat down with resolve,
Crossed legged on the wooden bench,
Trying to wipe the frown
And stretch my spine.
Watch my breath
Pray for strength
And peace and calm, a spiritual balm.

I smiled as the cool breeze
Teased my cheeks
And flirted with my carelessly
Tied thick mane.
Told my mind, now
You be quiet;
This is me time.

My glance rested
On the notebook,
That goes with me everywhere.
It’s my secret treasure
And I just jot down
My thoughts at leisure.

It is covered with
A blue cloth;
And what… perhaps
I noticed for the first time,
A hand embroidered tortoise,
In orange and green in chain stitch.
Good heavens, I muttered
To myself, isn’t he the guy
Who won the race,
Slow and steady
Putting that smug, sly
and dandy
Hare to shame,
without much fanfare.

Thoughtfully, I muttered aloud
Who ever said don’t go by
A book’s cover?
An open mind can
Discover anything
Even if
In small measures;
Why you don’t need scriptures;
Even a hand crafted picture
Can turn out to be a guide
And a seer.

The Gallery

I fell in love in the gallery
where every painting
had a story still to tell
the portraits of nature
every hue of wild beauty
caught my soul breathless
I wandered through worlds
those places of such scenery
which caught, held my eye
I imagined the feel of the air
the scent which filled each picture
touching my skin, filling my nose
my eyes wide open feasted upon
such beauty the likes of which
I had hardly every seen
nether less thought to imagine
I walked almost listless
in no hurry to leave this place
I fell in love in the gallery
where portraits of nature
told me their story

Let Us Be Friendly With Everybody!

Rabbit and Tortoise
Went for a race;

Envy villain rabbit
Threw the stone at Hero Rabbit;

Hero Rabbit's leg got broken,
Limping Rabbit couldn't run fast!

Hero Rabbit lost the match,
This is how Tortoise won the race.

Lesson is, 'Don't have enmity'
Let us be friendly with everybody!

A Tortoise's World!

Story of a tortoise who hid in his shell
Under the rock in the well
That is where it would dwell
Until one day a frog chased by a snake, did fell

Both, tortoise and frog were friends since they met
They had so much to talk, a lot of fun, you bet
Frog wanted to go home, leave a new friend, not to forget
Frog left, promised, soon it shall return and bring friends to get

Days passed and tortoise was sad and lonely
It rained and rained, and then came the day lovely
Frog came and came Frogs, croaking and singing jolly
Also were there tortoises, fishes and snails, Joy filled the world wholly!

A Discovery of Divine Spirit!

Is it indwelling spirit or Nature activating human?
Nature kindles mind to realise divine everywhere;
Going deep in all things reach one finally to the core
Where lives the eternal spirit activating all ever...!

Unlike animal going by instinct man explores by mind
All only to be confused as peeling onion endlessly on
And willingly suspending all ideas mystically indulges
In Nature at last to find an answer conclusive ever...!

Mind in communion with Nature man feels divine spirit
That opens door of heart like opening petals of lotus
To reveal the golden yellow divine dwelling deep finally
That actually activates mind, heart and soul of man...!

Discovery of inner spirit having communion with Nature,
Universal Spirit finally brings peace and bliss all long for!
