Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo,
I need to hold your breasts and get the feelings of love;
Monte Carlo,
I need to brush your breasts along my hairy chest of mine;
Monte Carlo,
I want to feel your love all day long;
Because the law is not only laid down for a righteous person,
But also for lairs and for perjurers.

The Pigeon Shooting

They say that Monte Carlo is
A sunny place for shady people;
But I'm not in the gambling biz,
And sober as a parish steeple.
so though this paradisal spot
The devil's playground of the rich is,
I love it and I love it not,
As men may sometimes fall for bitches.

I lazed beneath the sky's blue bliss,
The sea swooned with a sequin glimmer;
The breeze was shy as maiden kiss,
The palms sashayed in silken shimmr.
The peace I soaked in every pore
did me more good than ten religions . . .
And then: Bang! Bang! my joy was o'er;
Says I: "There goes them poor dam pigeons."

I see them bob from out their traps,
the swarded green aroud them ringing;
bewildered, full of joy perhaps,
With sudden hope of skyway winging.
They blink a moment at the sun,
They flutter free of earthy tether . . .
A fat man holds a smoking gun,
A boy collects some blood and feather.

And so through all the sainted day,
Bang! Bang! a bunch of plumage gory.
Five hundred francs they cost to slay,
And few there live to tell the story . . .
Yet look! there's one so swift to fly,
Despite the shots a course he's steering . . .
Brave little bird! he's winging high,
He's gained the trees - I feel like cheering.

In Monte Carlo's garden glades
With dreamful bliss one softly lingers,
And lazily in leafy shades
The doves pick breadcrumbs from one fingers . . .
Bang! Bang! Farewell, oh sylvan courts!
Where peace and joy are sweetly blended . . .
God curse these lousy Latin sports!
My pigeons scat, my dream is ended.

Cant Take It With You

By dickey betts and don johnson
(c) 1979 emi blackwood music inc. and pangola publishing company
Cant take it with you.
Everybody knows.
Cant take it with you when you go.
Cant hide your love away.
Save it up for a rainy day.
Ya cant take it with you when you go.
And it hurts so bad when you finally have to show.
Chorus:
Cant take it with you.
Everybody knows.
Cant take it with you when you go.
Cant hide your love away.
Save it up for a rainy day.
You cant take it with you when you go.
No, you cant take it with you when you go. ooo.
No, you cant take it with you when you go, oh, no.
Play it high or low.
Break the bank in monte carlo.
You can play it just the way it falls.
Cut it like you want to.
But it just might come back and haunt you.
Lady lucks your mama when she calls.
Chorus
Hot-wire a fast car
Just to take a ride.
You can run, but you sure cannot hide.
Oh, tell her a lie
And live with it til you die, but you
Cant take it with you when you go.
Chorus

Beginner's Luck

At any gambling casino
From monte carlo to reno
They tell you that a beginner
Comes out a winner
Beginner fishing for flounder
Will catch a 17 pounder
That's what i always heard
And thought absurd,
But now, i believe every word
For i've got beginner's luck
The first time that i'm in love
I'm in love with you
Gosh, i'm lucky
I've got beginner's luck
There never was such a smile
Or such eyes of blue
Gosh, i'm fortunate
The thing we've begun
Is much more than a pastime
For this time is the one
Where the first time is the last time
I've got beginner's luck
Lucky, through and through
Cause the first time that i'm in love
I'm in love with you
(bridge)
The thing we've begun
Is much more than a pastime
For this time is the one
Where the first time is the last time
I've got beginner's luck
Lucky, through and through
Cause the first time that i'm in love
Yes, the first time that i'm in love
Oh, the first time that i'm in love
I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you

Halo Of Flies

I've got the answers
To all of your questions
If you've got the money
To pay me in gold

I will be living
In old Monte Carlo
And you will be reading
The secrets I sold

Daggers and contacts
And bright shiny limos
I've got a watch
That turns into a lifeboat

Glimmering nightgowns
And poisonous cobras
Silencer under the heel of my shoe

The elegance of China
They sent her to lie here on her back
But as she deeply moves me
She'd rather shoot me in my tracks

And while a Middle Asian lady
She really came as no surprise
But I still did destroy her
And I will smash
Halo of flies

I crossed the ocean
Where no one could see
And I put a time-bomb
In your submarine
Goodbye to old friends
The secret's in hand
With phony papers
And counterfeit plans
You never will understand

Beautiful Brown Eyes by Meena Mustafa

Beautiful brown eyes like myriad of stars that gleam
Telling stories of my life is now an open book it seems.
You can see the world in my eyes, there is beauty everywhere
Exotic places I have travelled is reflected in my stare.
From Dubai to Australia, my memories take me there
Longing to be in Johannesburg (Sun City) a penny I didn't spare.
The white sandy beaches (Maldives) the scorching sun and heat
Diving in the ocean it was such a lovely treat!
Then the drive to Monte Carlo and the lavish French cuisine
From Singapore to Jakarta…now it's just a dream
My eyes reflect my spirit, for adventure far afield
And deep within their depths …mysteries are revealed.

My Love Is With You

I was just walking down the street
Looking forward to seeing the friends I was to meet
Yet what happened so tragically
Really makes for no sense at all
Suddenly two guys confronted me
Saying I was on the wrong turf, angrily
They said their colors were black but I was wearing gray
I started to turn to go back
They up and blew me away
My love is with you where ever you are
My love is with you, where ever you are (repeat)
Though my life theyve taken
They cant take what weve shared
Spread the love Ive given
And Ill be there
I was out playing with my friends
You know, doing those silly things kids do at ten
But the crossfire I was caught in
Should not have been in the first place
A dropped monte carlo came to a screech
Someone yelled nobody gets away with dissen me
Across the street a man pulled his nine
Everybody started to run
A shower of bullets rang out
Mistakenly my life was done, oh
My love is with you where ever you are
My love is with you, where ever you are (repeat)
Though my life theyve taken
They cant take what weve shared
Spread the love Ive given
Ill be there
My love is with you where ever you are
My love is with you, where ever you are (repeat)
When youre joyful
When youre lonely
When youre happy
When tears are streamin right down your face
In the morning
In the noon time
In the evening
In the wee wee hours of the nighttime hour
In the summer
In the springtime
In the autumn
In the cold long winter, winter nights
My love is with you
My love is with you my best friend
My love is with you my brother
My love is with you my sister
My love is with you my mother
My love is with you my father
Im with you - (repeat)
Ban the hand gun - chant

One Night In Monte Alegre

i see the sun
set in Monte Alegre

A White brow
framed by the window

long white hair
flowing like a polluted river

upon the neck of
an old woman

holding a cane
such trembling hands

worn out
stopping on the edge

of uncut fingernails
eyes

fixed upon
the nothingness that

i, who sit there,
am, beginning to see

it is not horrible
darkness creeping

upon the black thigh
dry blood

scarlet night
dead in Monte Alegre

He Cant Love You

He may take you to shows evry night
Fill your head with promise and music delight
And shower you with kisses of sweet ecstasy
But hell never need you
He may fly you for weekends away
Get your kicks in paris and drive to calais
Life is so romantic , youre feeling alive
Hell only leave you
Living so exciting with your love affair
Your heart has made you blind to me
Im sorry but Im wondering
Please answer me
Can he love you like I love you
Can he take you through the night
Will he get you through the heartaches
And tomorrow hold you tight
You may still survive the storm but
He cant love you baby , he dont love you baby,
Like I do
Down the champs-elysee for some french cuisine
Youre lookin like a model from some magazine
And down to monte carlo for champagne on ice
Yes, its so inviting
Your head is spinning , youre floating on air
Your heart is beating but youre not aware
The things that he told you were only a lie
And hell only hurt you
Living so exciting with your love affair
Your heart has made you blind to me
Im sorry but Im wondering
Please answer me
Can he love you like I love you
Can he take you through the night
Will he get you through the heartaches
And tomorrow hold you tight
You may still survive the storm but
He cant love you baby , he dont love you baby
Like I do
Can he know just what youre thinkin
When you dont have words to say
You may never understand that
He cant love you baby
Can he love you like I love you
Can he take your heart away
Will he get you through the heartaches
And tomorrow hold you tight
You may still survive the storm (fade out )

All Over The World

Everybody all around the world
Gotta tell you what I just heard
There's gonna be a party all over the world
I got a message on the radio
But where it came from I don't really know
And I heard these voices calling all over the world
All over the world,
Everybody got the word
Everybody everywhere is gonna feel tonight
Everybody walkin' down the street
Everybody movin' to the beat
They're gonna get hot down in the U.S.A.
(New York, Detroit, L.A.)
We're gonna take a trip across the sea
Everybody come along with me
We're gonna hit the night down in gay Pareee
All over the world,
Everybody got the word
Everybody everywhere is gonna feel tonight
(Instrumental break)
London, Hamburg, Paris, Rome, Rio, Hong Kong, Tokyo
L.A., New York, Amsterdam, Monte Carlo, Shard End and
All over the world,
Everybody got the word
Everybody everywhere is gonna feel tonight
Everybody all around the world
Gotta tell you what I just heard
Everybody walkin' down the street
I know a place where we all can meet
Everybody gonna have a good time
Everybody will shine till the daylight
All over the world,
Everybody got the word
Everybody everywhere is gonna feel tonight
All over the world
Everybody got the word
All over the world
Everybody got the word
All over the world
Everybody got the word

Attente (Expectation)

Monte, écureuil, monte au grand chêne,
Sur la branche des cieux prochaine,
Qui plie et tremble comme un jonc.
Cigogne, aux vieilles tours fidèle,
Oh ! vole et monte à tire-d'aile
De l'église à la citadelle,
Du haut clocher au grand donjon.

Vieux aigle, monte de ton aire
A la montagne centenaire
Que blanchit l'hiver éternel.
Et toi qu'en ta couche inquiète
Jamais l'aube ne vit muette,
Monte, monte, vive alouette,
Vive alouette, monte au ciel !

Et maintenant, du haut de l'arbre,
Des flèches de la tour de marbre,
Du grand mont, du ciel enflammé,
A l'horizon, parmi la brume,
Voyez-vous flotter une plume
Et courir un cheval qui fume,
Et revenir mon bien-aimé ?

Expectation

Squirrel, mount yon oak so high,
To its twig that next the sky
Bends and trembles as a flower!
Strain, O stork, thy pinion well,—
From thy nest 'neath old church-bell,
Mount to yon tall citadel,
And its tallest donjon tower!
To your mountain, eagle old,
Mount, whose brow so white and cold,
Kisses the last ray of even!
And, O thou that lov'st to mark
Morn's first sunbeam pierce the dark,
Mount, O mount, thou joyous lark—
Joyous lark, O mount to heaven!
And now say, from topmost bough,
Towering shaft, and peak of snow,
And heaven's arch—O, can you see
One white plume that like a star,
Streams along the plain afar,
And a steed that from the war
Bears my lover back to me?

Gutter of Debt

We have terrific news to announce this morning!
According to our 'Get Off Your Ass Index'...
Or as we affectionally have come to call it,
The GOYA! ...'Go-YEAH' for those of you
Who maintain a certain fashion consciousness,
If you will.

It has been brought to our attention the middle class
Has risen above our earlier projections...
And it is now expected we WILL be able to provide
Those ladders to assist those climbing out of the gutter
Of debt after all!
And we want to just say this...
Before we take a break
To enjoy our 3 weeks of a well deserved vacation!

'You JUST had vacations a month ago! '

NO! Not true at all! We had divided into 'Discovery
Committees' to investigate the shopping wars in
Monte Carlo! That report is currently being finalized!
And prior to that...remember there was discussion
Of tainted oysters being served in the bars in Belize?
We want you all to know we are here doing all we can
To make sure that we are not only safe...
But also that our freedom is not jeopardized!
And if there is anyone here NOT freedom conscious...
Let he OR she speak out and let those displeasures
Be known! Anyone? No ruffled feathers,
Means we're all together! Very good.
And now I'd like to address...

(To Be Continued...)

0029 Monte Carlo

So this was it. I'd passed through years ago
as a hitch-hiker, spinning out our 25 pounds
max allowance, over three hot weeks of France
until I was sick of tough-skinned monster tomatoes
and baguettes without butter; as we made our sweaty way
to Monaco's, surprisingly, Communist youth hostel
beyond the gas works and the soccer ground,
around the path at the foot of the cliffs...no romance there.

But here I was, as a journalist, two nights in a hotel
of grand aspiration, where guests left empty
the spacious restaurant and its tasteless menu.
Monte Carlo out of season; shrunken to a provincial town;
the waves hitting hard and cold against its promenade.

Tired after a day of work, foot-hot amid white-gloved uniforms,
I felt I should squeeze something memorable from the single day
as the lights went on. Too travel-stained to enter the Casino,
placed where the pier would be in an English seaside town -
but I hovered. It was a stage set which had rashly intruded
into real, daily life; and waiting for a cast
rehearsing somewhere else. I made my way (the phrase
is singularly inadequate) back to the deserted hotel
where even the lights were sad and still.

In the deserted square outside the Casino,
a woman passed me, returning home, I guessed, from the Casino,
but hardly dressed for gambling's evening glamour;
a middle-to-ageing Englishwoman, from her walk. Her room,
I would think, would be small, high
on the steep hill of the working class. She visits
every day; for several evening hours
under the shaded table lights,
everything in the world is possible...The doorman
at the Casino only acknowledges her
out of season, when the locals and the regulars
are tolerated, with their modest bets;
almost seen as staff.

As she passed,
she placed some ticket in her purse -
one of those large purses (as the English call them)
almost hand-bag size; dark soft but rough material, it spoke
of 19th-century gentility in the dimly lit and empty square.
A large purse, waiting; filled with empty hope.

That was my Monte Carlo moment. From that capacious
but not, not stuffed-with-banknotes bag, reality and romance
hit me together, as if my brain had been
bludgeoned with the truth. Here in its lonely addiction
was the tawdry face of the Casino, denying all the myths,
the glamour, the stories, the accretions of second-hand
imaginations, the distant history that might have fired me
in some bygone age, of cigars and diamonds, furs and powdered
faces, champagne and caviar, marcelled hair, wild laughter, eager
for the glittering promise of the best of life; written up
by some envious, cheap journalist.

The square deserted, the smell of petrol lingered in the roses
in the warm, tired Mediterranean night. You, this way; I, that.

I Saw Your Hairy Chest

The first person said:
'I saw your hairy chest that is why,
I came to you last night and we made love together';
The second person said;
'Why'? !
Then the first person replied:
'It is because i love men with hairy chest and,
I am ever ready to sleep with any of them'! !
And this was the conversation i heard among two people;
Then i said to myself: 'Love is too blind at times'.
