Asunder

As I walk the dog each night, I stare into the sky.
The stars alone bear mute witness to my daily weary sigh
I still ask the heavens of what went wrong to love that went awry.
And I think of the things we could have done but she would not even try.

Writing rhymes about our problems is a great temptation.
No matter our marital pitfalls there was a promise of dedication.
Heartbreak and richer lawyers are the only education
True soul mates who have broken bonds are a sad aberration.

Love and trust can be repaired, make it your marriage vocation.
Marriage and family live in love and should not seek cessation.
So, these words from I who may face life in relative isolation
'Never make a permanent fix to a temporary situation.'

Marital Affair

No doubt love binds
two hearts in marriage
to seal the bond for life
could it survive the trials?

Marriage is not bed of roses
time will test its strongest hold
temptation and misunderstanding
shall rack it in all aspects intermittently!

But, as long as true love exists
marriage can not be broken
nor shattered into pieces
a solid marital affair!

A Marriage Of Two Is For Love That Is True

A marriage of two is for love that is true
A marriage of two is always something new
A marriage of two happens sometimes out of the blue

A marriage of two is worth it when it’s due
A marriage of two is a marriage of trust
They are only very few who have a clue of when love accrues

A marriage of two is about love making
It is not about money raking
You should only be glad if

Love Or Marriage

I am now over thirty,
Still going on enjoying liberty,
Want to go on enjoying more,
Trying to inform you with a roar,
That am still in love fore sure.
It is my will to keep love awake,
Marriage-the thing
That draws love a break,
Let this thing keep aside,
Love will live though we died.
I don't find any other way,
My heart is in trouble
And mind in sway,
What to do and what not to do,
Like the lawyers for justice sue.
I don't want love bid adue,
After marriage it is hard to redo,
Love supports life
But marriage deports love,
What to do now have become tuff,
If there is love yet after marriage,
Going for marriage would be -
A mater of my encourage.

On Marriage

Pessimistic views: :
Marriage is a gamble!
Marriage is a punishment;
Marriage is an evil that
Most can’t but accept.

Optimistic views:
Marriage is a gift of God;
Marriage is a blessing;
Marriage is an enjoyment,
We make the best of it.

Truths:
Marriage is so wonderful;
Marriage is so fulfilling;
Marriage is so wholesome;
Marriage is an endless love,
More priceless than all wealth!

Marriage is a way of life;
Marriage is so natural;
Marriage is the better way,
For two, to reach Heaven.

The Reason For Divorce

The reason for divorce you've guessed right marriage without marriage there would not be divorce
With birds and animals things are so much different they make love and leave Nature take it's course
They do not have acrimonious breakups when their relationships end they merely go their way
Though some species are known to be faithful and until one die together they do stay.

Some claim to know that us humans are polygamous if this be so the truth we ought to face
That we live an un-natural existence that marriage between man and woman never should take place
We'll look at sheep since sheep are polygamous the ram and ewe they make love for a day
Tomorrow he has another to make love to sheep do live true to Nature one might say.

What God has put together let no man pull asunder whoever first said that told a big lie
For ninety per cent of marriages as we know are long over before the husband or the wife does die
Of undying love you won't find many cases and this thing called love is an over-rated thing
Though the romance writers make their fortunes from it and of love the pop singer paid to sing.

The reason for divorce you've guessed right marriage though of undying love romantics love to read
But facts don't lie and the facts always tell us that more often than not marriage to divorce lead
Married till death do you part coined by some religious zealot any untruer words perhaps have not been said
And though a few marriages known to last the distance before old age most marriages long dead.

Yes, I Will

I open my eyes I see your face
I cannot hide I cant erase
The way you make me feel inside
You complete me girl, thats why
Something about you makes me feel
Baby my heart wants to reveal
Im down on my knees, Im asking you
So these three words I wanna hear from you
Chorus:
Yes I will, take your hand and walk with you
Yes I will, so these three words I promise to
Yes I will, give you everything you need
And someday start a family with you
Yes I will, take your hand and walk with you
Yes I will, baby I promise to
Yes I will, give you everything you need
And someday start a family with you
Oh yes I will
This is no ordinary love
And I can never have enough
Of all the things youve given to me
My heart , my soul , my everything
Every night I thank you lord (I thank you lord)
For giving me the strength to love her more
And more each day I promise her
As long as I hear those three words
Chorus:
Yes I will, take your hand and walk with you
Yes I will, so these three words I promise to
Yes I will, give you everything you need
And someday start a family with you
Yes I will, take your hand and walk with you
Yes I will, baby I promise to
Yes I will, give you everything you need
And someday start a family with you
Bridge:
I stand beside you, in everything you do
Wherever you go, whatever you do
Baby Ill be there (oh baby I will be there)
As God as my witness
I will carry this through
Till death do us part, I promise to you
Chorus:
Yes I will, take your hand and walk with you
Yes I will, baby baby yes I promise to
Yes I will, give you everything you need
And start a family with you, baby
Yes I will
Yes I will
Yes I will, I promise you
Everythings gonna be all right
Its gonna be all right
I will

Reunion (Love Story 10)

And love prevailed
as it stood even stronger
after the lambast of tests
when family was put to risk
and marriage almost suffered

When two hearts are soul mates
they are destined to converge to last
though amidst the dwindling ordeals
one partner about to quit the struggle
yet the other held and compromised

Couple supplements each other
Thus, it complete the two to tango
the dance is performed as music plays
love, marriage and family are made whole
In the end you and I reunited for love so true

Marriage and Love

Marriage gives life to love and love gives life to marriage.

In marriage, love means:
To know in your heart you were meant only for each-other.
To know that Heaven grew you apart and brought you together after the time you were meant to be molded to fit each-other.
To discover what it is to be best friends forever.
To discover what it is to love someone more than yourself.
To discover you are actually only a half and how much you need the other to be complete.
To discover the bonds that form when times get tough.
To discover how much more joy is multiplied when there is someone you love to share it with.
Each day is a day of discovery, a day to build your love, a day to make your bond stronger.

Marriage is:
To together choose one way, not one's own way.
To respect and honor with love the other over oneself or anyone else.
To compromise with each-other but never compromising each-other.
To know you are loved, wanted and needed whether you are fat or thin, well or ill, chirpy or grumpy.
To live life's summer, winter, autumn and spring always being there for one another.
To blend as one that over the years you feel as one and speak as one.
To be savored like wine, enriched by the passing of time.
To honor Marriage is to honor its Maker. To commit in marriage is to commit to its Maker.

982: Sannyasin

Sex between any two is banned,
But marriage gives sex the grant,
Not just a grant, it acts to sanctify,
Which otherwise society shall defy,

Love makes sex a love-making,
Supreme expression of love, but nothing,
Sex is a body-act, love is that of minds,
Love is life, though marriage may be a grind,

What happens to a marriage without love,
Goes on for the children in the hub,
If one such meets love in an accident out,
Marriage comes to a halt without a doubt,

In such a marriage how long sex shall continue,
As long as one is other’s detainee,
Sannyasin you may feel, I know its prostitution,
Though may give-in to you, knows the love-institution,

When family is splintered, what use of the marriage,
There is more in life than money and falls prestige,
Learn to be bold and use a marriage meter to gauge,
Free yourselves than being in each other’s cage.

A Good Marriage

A good marriage is made of equal respect
And the ability to communicate
You have to be able to talk to each other
You have to be able to relate

You have to show each other every day
How much in love you are
It takes two people to make it work
Together, not from afar

Some say you don't have to work on a marriage
Marriages work out on their own
Those are the people who live in denial
And usually end up alone

And don't forget we all have our faults
stay strong and feed off each others strength
Worry about being happy in your marriage
And less about it's length

All I can tell you is what works for us
And it's been working for over 30 years
We've shared love, respect and a wonderful friendship
And we have even shared a few tears

I wouldn't trade marriage for all the money in the world
I would never trade the man that I love
We are an example of what real soul mates are
And our marriage was blessed from God above

I LOVE YOU CHUCK

Abuse And The Aftermath

So now I walk these loney streets
My family, they cannot dry these tears
Nor give, rest for these tired feet
Nor calm these ever present fears

For I have seen that life
Which gave those tainted hearts
And guile which makes every thing gray
And so alone in life, I seek too start anew
I look for a new way

I wanted my family to know that
And that
Life goes on no matter what
And that These truths cannot be quelled
For true memories and true love are
Never to be forgot
For within my heart they'll always dwell

So I keep walking, some lonely street
I keep searching, to find a-way
And every night as I start troubled sleep
Love's promise, for me tomorrow... tomorrow will
Be a better day

And so I awake and I start anew
Knowing that my love
Will always be there...for you

Now these words I give to honor
So that my family may share
I just wanted them to know
How much I really did care

And for love, I'd go back there
and I'd rexperience all that pain
I'd do-it in a moment
If all your love I could gain

For you are my real and only family
And this I can never forget
Nor depart
For true love, is true love
And true love will never leave
Even from me, and this broken heart

Broken Promises

Just another broken promise.
Your words are really cheap.
You're writing cheques with your mouth.
Your body will not keep.

They say that love is action.
Not simply just a word.
If that's the case, I've never felt.
I've only really heard.

You've said it many many times.
When push it came to shove.
I truly honestly believe.
It's only you, you love.

The times you said, the things you'd do.
But then you would forget.
You would work as hard as you wanted to.
Until you had to sweat.

Things got tough, you packed it in,
And threw it all away.
Instead of putting in effort.
You'd rather go out and play.

I tried and tried, the work I did.
Make our world a better place.
You sat right on the sidelines.
While I went and ran the race.

The same excuses “I forgot”.
I've heard it all before.
The hurt I felt and feel again.
I can't take it anymore.

You say “Don't sweat it! ”, “”It's no big deal! ”
“Be thankful for what you've got”.
But to me it is the little things,
That really mean a lot

I take your broken promises.
That fill my broken heart.
I'll tell you what they do to me.
It rips my soul apart.

Again, I bet you'll blow it off.
You'll say what you want me to hear.
You'll take the promises that you make.
Then make them disappear.

So talk your talk, I'll walk my walk.
I've done everything I can.
To keep my promise and my word.
I truly am a man.

You keep your broken promises.
I know that's what you'll do.
Your talk is cheap, your words are lies.
I know that mine are true.

I'll pack your broken promises.
I'm out the broken door.
I hope you enjoy your broken home.
I won't be broken anymore!

What makes a marriage?

It has been almost forty years
Since we had taken our marriage
Vows. Yes, we are still together.
I guess that means something today

Considering most never last
More than, I suspect, a few years;
Sometimes I can understand why
Marriage is not a piece of cake.

In the beginning all is fine
Everything is brand spanking new
But that finish dulls quite quickly.
That moment after the “I do’s”

The gravity of the marriage
Begins to materialize.
Vowing for better or for worse
Were just words uttered thoughtlessly.

Like reciting a bedtime prayer
Never actually listening
To each word we recite by rote
The truth is, marriage is both words

“Better” is a relative term:
What could be considered better
For me would not necessarily
Be the same view held by my wife.

Therefore we are both compromised
And there’s the rub of the matter.
Marriage is a balancing act
That’s between better and the worse.

Learn the knack of juggling the two
The marriage will certainly last.
In those years we’ve become a team
And we’re both still madly in love.

I'm In Love

I'm in love and,
All i want is you;
Oh, i am in love!
And, all that i want is in you.
How do i live without you?
Roses are red but, violets are blue;
How do i live when the bed you sleep on is blue?
The love that i have for you is richer than honey.
I'm in love and,
This is not an ordinary love;
The love that i have for you is richer than money.
Yes, you can't even count things that aren't there;
Only the wise know the meaning of things.
Honey is sweet but, you are sweeter than honey;
Money is okay but, you are better than money;
Oh my Darling!
I will swim the seas to meet you.
How do i live without you when,
The bed i sleep on is white?
A righteous person knows the rights of everyone.
You are sweet and beautiful my love,
You are like the blue sea with a white dove of love;
I belong to my lover and she desires me,
How can i live without her?
I'm in love and all i want is in you.
Your blue bed with a white dove of love,
Come and travel with me;
You are my soul and heart's inspiration.
I can't live without you,
I can't make it without you,
You are nicer than the diamonds and pearls;
You are all that i want.
Blessed is me when we walk hand in hand,
Love wisdom and she will make you great;
You've got what i need.
I'm in love and, all i want is you;
Wisdom is better than siver and gold but,
True love crowns it all.
Roses are red and violets are blue,
So do write your love on my heart;
I'm in love and, all i need is in you.

The word “Divorce” never exists

Divorce … Divorce…
Think that there is such thing never exist

-o-

Look at the girl twice before you choose
Think twice before you put the marriage ring
Once Marriage is done, it is forever.

Marriage is between two hearts,
If you marry for anything else,
There is no guarantee that it will stand

Marry for money, money can be lost
Marry for beauty, beauty can be lost
Marry for health, health can be lost
Marry for love, love can’t be lost
Look at the eyes and feel the heart
Love is there for you always

-o-

Marriage doesn’t mean, it stands for ever
Marriage is planting the love seed
Plant the love seed, deep enough in heart
Manure with smiles and pore more love

Marriage doesn’t mean, it stands for ever
Trust each other more than self
Stand for each more than self
Keep the self out and live for spouse

Marriage is place to work together
Work heard to keep it fruitful
Pray heard to keep it safe
Love heard to make it more romantic

Spouse and Kids are God’s gifts
God entrusted us to take care of them,
The way he is taking care of us.

-o-
Divorce is the evil
It killed the souls and hearts
Divorce … Divorce …
Don’t think of it.
There is nobody who gained out of it

Divorce … Divorce…
Think that there is such thing never exist

-o-

Still if you think, Divorce is the way
Talk with couples, who broken their hearts
Talk with the kids, who struggled in it
Talk with the parents, who cried for kids
This shows that still love exists
Anger can vanish, but love never dry

Out of Divorce, what are you going to gain?
You lost your celibacy
You lost your heart
You lost your self
You lost your health
You lost your peace
What you have to bring out of it?
Marriage is the place to bury your self
Don’t come out as stinking Skelton

Divorce is like digging the grave
The more you fight, the more you lose
The more you dig, the more it stinks
The more you think you lost your self

Marriage is the place to cover all this
Marriage is the place to hide your love
Marriage is the grave you agreed to sleep
Don’t judge you’re self, don’t judge your spouse
God will judge all of us when time comes

-o-

Marriage is place for honor
Marriage is place for respect
Marriage is place for trust
Marriage is place for love
Marriage is place for nourishment
Marriage is place for forgiveness
Marriage is place for prayers
Marriage is place to learn all this
Marry once and live forever
Marriage may not be a heaven
But Divorce is defiantly a hell
Live the way that
The word “Divorce” never exists

The Brigidaire General Speaks At The Wedding

the retired general speaks
at the wedding
in an open garden, about marriage,

that one must marry for love
and no other
because when love is gone
then everything is gone

i look at my wife waiting for her turn
to speak
and i am thinking: what if love is gone?

what if love flies out of the window like a black bird
tired of its nest wanting to go and find another island
a new breeding ground
a direction for another migration
away from a very cold season
towards a warmer ground?

i think, one marries more than love,
one makes a promise
for better or for worse, for richer or poorer,
in sickness and in health

till death do us part: one marries not just for love
but for a promise,
for marriage is more than that, it is more than a contract,
it is a covenant,

that we who love, that we sometime
when we fall out of love
looks at the covenant and
abides by what is found there

that we live together, that we are one, and only death can separate us.
the assumption is: love sometimes burns itself, and is consumed
like our bodies that rot, like our bones that turn to dust,
like the life that dies, that the mind that shuts down

i think, i am falling out of love, i think,
i must abide by the covenant.

after the General has spoken
i shake his hand, and make a nod,
i admit, i still have more to say,
but it shall be my wife who must say it.

she signed the covenant too
inside our heart, our souls know it.

Na me go dey plead her case
Now my uniform go be lace

For this age

Even Solo wey just engage

Thier love tank no dey gree gauge

Marriage!
You yan am, some go rake
What if the geshi na fake
And no dey quick wake
What if she no sabi bake
24/7 go be corn flakes
What if her mouth no get brake
You go drown me for lake

Marriage!

If no be for Kate
Hin broda Jo for never late
Jo ego, she deflate
Maybe because her Papa na magistrate
Na she dey dictate

Marriage!
Yan am, some go start to pray
Make dem no go be prey
All the money dem go need pay
Before dem release the geshi hin way
Later later, she fit runaway
With Chief wey get better pay

Marriage!
Yan am, some go lie flat
Abeg God light my path
Make us tight even if we start with mat
Make we no dey fight because one of us fat
Make our love pass body parts
We no one be like cat and rat
We bind tit for tat

Marriage!
Guy, dem yan am, your heart no suppose race
Neva think of am as a cage
No bobo or geshi be fake
If only una go well relate
But, you go need pray
Make God light una path.

The Sanctity of Matrimony

marriage lives only in our hearts, and the bond of love is witness
by the faithful comes in, when there is an honest communion of
unity amongst the bride and the groom, who promise and commit
themselves in their hearts and words, to live beyond anything else
that comes in their path to perfection

the reception, the grandiose party, as well the beautiful dresses
wore, the precious gifts offered and everything that adds any
celebration marvelous, are just a passing scene in our window
of the soul, the eyes that captured all the memories in our midst

hold on the little sweet vanity of Eden's garden, and even beauty
is not a guarantee of a successful marriage, for giving yourself is
not like chasing with the wind

like candles melted in our pupil's eyes in the middle of snow,
pouring water in a bucket full of dust, and when thirst comes in
your needs, suck all the spillage, a residual of an absorbent sand,
lift by the heating sun, in a distance land, where you want to hand
in the purest life you want

marriage is not just a vessel to be filled, a mat that you spread if
only you want to lid, nor a lamp to be filled off and when it is gone,
you have to make another one, as you gather all what you know
about life, live and hold as you told, for in every moment life has
to be unfold

hand all your plan, to God whose engineer and guidance is
beyond compare, for life we have to take is something we
have to make, and only you can do, the chances that you can
take, the master plan of the kingdom of God

live and pray, let love shine the mystery of the passion of the heart
open what comes next, for every move is of mixed, as the candle
lighted with trust its perfume smell make it last, and the wax leaves
to cast

and when the hour comes, when everything will be recalled,
in the Father's house we will be stored, there you stand to the
one you say I can, the 'yes' and the I 'do', the heart that you
cherish, until beyond death do us part
