That Moment
She was my
Childhood friend
Together
We had an
Emotional bond
She could not do
Without me
I could not do
Without her
During the holidays
Before the school was
About to reopen
I was playing
In the nearby field
When I saw her
Sitting in a moving bus
Her face saddened
Tears flowing
She waved at me
She looked like
A caged bird
Ready to fly
But there was no sky
Before I could reply
The bus had moved
Leaving me
Shocked and Startled
Later I came to know
Her parents had moved
To another city
After so many years
Whenever I pass
The spot
Where I had
Last seen her
My legs stop
Shooting pain
Arises in the heart
My mind stops working
Till somebody reminds me
To move from there
I cannot forget
That moment
When I last saw her
Always haunts me

Childhood Love
the quiet one....
the innocent one..
five years old
posing for a picture
with the fellow sisters and brothers.
pink
bright child's dress..
dry clean only
hands held together;
brown eyes just waiting for a picture.
childhood friend..
couldn't live without him
cried tears of child-like pain
moved away
only five years old
leaving her very best friend
no matter they were only children
she moved away and left him
she loved him dearly with all her heart

Move On
Some chickens crossed the road, straying far from the hen
Five reached the side one step below zen
One was a female, four were mad-men
Who moved on, moved on move on
Standing in line and falling asleep
Building a fence while were counting the sheep
Wed let you help out but our projects are too deep
Move on, move on, move on
You have to understand that when it comes
To making music
We meshed the styles of five alive and
Intertwined and fused it
Life comes from life and through our strife we
Strove to make the sound true
Compelled to spell it out, in search
Of what we must do
Our house was to small so we had to move
The neighbors had much doubts so we had to prove
That our soulful dimensions were true to the groove
We, moved on, moved on, moved on
Water the music, plant the seeds in the pot
Music is life flowing through... is it not?
Dont forget your roots, but also dont rot
Just move on, move on, move on dont be afraid, let your feelings show
Wear your heart on your sleeve, and let yourself glow

Can't You Remember?
How often have you heard me cry?
How often have you not asked why
the tears are flowing down my face?
Maybe it's guilt you can't erase.
The lack of caring has gotten to me.
And all of those tears have got to be
drying me up inside.
We started out with so much to do.
There was never a time when tears would flow
because you always seemed to know
how to keep our love alive,
how to make our love just thrive,
making me feel like a bride.
We raised our kids and moved along
helping each other when things went wrong.
And eventually we got through it all.
When the kids moved out I recall
that what we had moved out too.
Now it was just me and you,
trying to hide our pride.
I know we can't turn back the clock.
You know I still love you. You're my rock.
And so my tears are flowing again
'cause I can still remember when
all that we had was just we two
sharing a love that was brand new
when no feelings would we hide.
But somewhere in the back of my mind
I have the feeling we still might find
what it was we had back then
and maybe we can bring it back again.
If we can't and it's all gone
I know that I will have to move on
and turn a brand new tide.

I Shall Not Be Moved
You will take my breath away,
Gild my heart with your love-
I shall not be moved.
My eyes will gloat at your sashay,
My lips will droll at your pulchritude-
I shall not be moved.
You will come with religions of faiths,
A heap of mountains you have moved-
Still I shall not be moved.
You will give me strongest of philtres,
Your touch will erect my one weakness-
But I shall not be moved.
You will light my darkest paths,
Move me here to there-
Yet I shall not be moved.
You will sing our song,
Your love for me will exceed eternity,
Even then, I shall not be moved.
You will live for me,
Die for me- For the last time-
I shall not be moved.

Stop N Go
Stop N Go"
I knew from the start you were running game
You'd fade away like Jordan then cross me over when you come back again
I'm not superwoman so i can't see what's goign on in your mind
It's been so long that i strung you along
So many dates, so many hours on the phone
And i know you getting tired of playing the game of cat and mouse
I wonder if i let you catch me, would you run your mouth
So i'm not sure if i wanna
Stop
Go
Just move slow
Let
Go
And enjoy the moment
Stop
Go
So confusing that i
Don't
Know
I feel i wanna explode
We're in the first quarter and i feel i wanna but i know we oughta not
Cuz if i pass it to you there's a chance that you might mess around and drop the rock
So you better make sure in the court you're the best i've ever seen
Cuz i would hate to have to trade you to another team
It's been so hard playing my emotions off
Knowing that i wanna give in but too afraid to go too far
And i know you're getting tired of playing the game of hard to get
But i wonder if i let you in would you tell your friends
So i'm not sure if i wanna
Stop, go
Just move slow
Let go
And enjoy the momeny
Stop, go
So confusing that i
Don't know
I feel i wanna explode
My heart, says yes
My mind, says no
Cuz i don't know if i wanna break down and let go
My heart, says yes
My mind, says no
Cuz i know if i'm ready now i'll be wanting more
More this, more that
More time, to chat
And i'll be wanting a commitment from you and much more attention
That's why i'm so confused
When it comes to loving you
Stop, go
Just move slow
Let go
And enjoy the moment
Stop, go
So confusing that i
Don't know
Feel i wanna explode
Stop, go
Just move slow
Let go
And enjoy the moment
Stop, go
So confusing that i
Don't know
Feel i wanna explode

My Heart Is A Caged Bird
My heart is a caged bird
Legs tied by the bond of
Relationships
Wings clipped by
Responsibilities
Crying in agony
Writhing with pain
Wants to fly
In the open skies
Leave every memory
Behind
Feel the heat of sun
Cool breeze on the body
Sing freely
Like the flowing water
Cross the oceans
Conquer the Mountains
Break the shackles of
Worldly rules
Live freely thereafter

Joy and sorrow
Who does not laugh?
Who does not cry?
Joy and sorrow
Are in Every body's life
Who does not hope?
Whose hope
Are always fulfilled
Who does not fear death?
Still new hope
Takes birth in the mind
Everybody keeps
On living

Puppeteer Of Hearts
Just one look that’s all it took
for my heart was an open book
You opened up my heart like a map
moving this and shuffling that.
You set it up the way you wanted it to be
So you could move it around ever so easily.
You put a string on my heart, and controlled it
Like a puppeteer.
and moved it all around
Of that you had no fear.
You moved my heart from within
And made me dance to your every whim.
You have become a puppeteer of hearts
And with me you got your start.
You now walk around with a ball of string
And a smile upon your face
Breaking hearts in a steady pace.
But like everything, it must come to an end
You’ll soon get yours my puppeteer friend.

Shooting Hoops
When the school lets out and the shifts are done
Get the boys together get a ball get a run
Lace up the sneaks kick off them shoes
Ill admit I play to win yo cause I dont like to lose
At seger park theyve got the best competition
Good moves baby - Im the definition
They shooting hoops
Yeah yeah yeah
They playing basketball
I learned at old pine, see Im the school yard hustler
I had my hardknocks now Im an off the backboard buster
I could fake to the left penetrate like mike
Or 360 in the air as dominique might
I could pass like magic
I could shoot like the bird, after a doctor j dunk
The courtside drunk said good lord
They shooting hoops
Yeah yeah yeah
They playing basketball
Lunch from a hot dog stand a pretzel and a pop
Weve been playing all day cause weve had this court non stop
The city sun is hot - all the courts they steaming
Bright eyed yong ball handlers are believing and dreaming
Hoping some day all this playing will be paying
Thats what all the sideline junkies smoking reefer keep saying
They shooting hoops
Yeah yeah yeah
They playing basketball

A Room At The Top.
It was a room
at the top of the building
music being played
from some hifi system
and Judy said
you dance quite well
thanks
you said
haven't seen you
here before
she looked at you
with her dark eyes
I come for the drug aid
they help me here
to get of the junk
oh right
you replied
looking for signs
of needle marks
or signs in the eyes
you take junk?
No I'm a booze clown
you said
she nodded
and danced to the music
for a moment or so
my parents are doctors
in the City and have put me
in the hospital but I get out
for a few hours
and they let me
come here for the help
you looked at her dressed
in her tight slacks
and over long jumper
her breasts small
compact
untouchable
her hips swaying
to the music's beat
the way she moved
drawing you in
smelling her scent
her words lost
in a singer's voice
a guitar whining
in and out
maybe I can come see you
you have to shout
over the music's rising sound
sure
she said
moving her neat ass
as she moved around
and she whispered
the address and where
the hospital was
and how to get there
then she was whisked away
by some guy
with a drugged out
look in his eye
and you watched her sway
moving off
going slowly
but sexily away.

I'm Looking For A Shooting Star
Outside on the deck
Looking into the sky at the stars
Its dark and chilly out
I'm looking for a shooting star
To wish upon tonight
Trying to find a way to rid this pain
If only a shooting star would pass, my way
I would be able to wish upon it tonight
And wish all this pain away
This pain is bringing me down
Feels like the pain is a load on my back
Ready to move on without pain and move on with life
Ready to wish upon a star and wish all this away
Wish all the pain away
Because I'm tired of it all

I Was Not... When I Purchased
I, in front of beautiful shop
Surrounded by a friend's call
Came to purchase
With all my motivating will.
Searching for purchasing center
With my hands on nearby shoulders
Seeing friends' face fixed near me
Seem to be sown together.
Went inside and saw it
Suspected for comfort
Went near with my friends
Touched and checked its toughness.
It's long as giraffe's neck
It's slim as flamingo's neck
It had four legs as alien
It had a bend like duck's neck.
It's colored blue as sky
It's striped as zebra
I saw it and began to cry
But it seemed to be lending hands to try.
I took it to be my friend and tried
And moved my legs to take a step
Both of my friends' shoulders moved away
And said with care' hold the stick properly'.
I was not happy when I purchased
Anyway got third leg to walk forward.

Do You Remember The Time
Do you remember the time your heart was moved to tears?
Can you look back on the moment after all these years?
On the moment love broke through and heaven seemed so near
Do you remember the time your heart was moved to tears?
Do you remember the day you first let Jesus in?
How he gently and tenderly washed away your sin
Don't you know that He still cares the way He did back then?
Do you remember the day you first let Jesus in?
Keep holdin' on
Never letting go
We're not far
from the end of the road
Keep holdin' on
Never letting go
We're not far
from the end of the road
In a moment love broke through and heaven seemed so near
Do you remember the moment your heart was moved to tears?
Do you remember the time your heart was moved to tears?

Our Tree House
As children, my dearest friend and
I began planning to build a tree
house. We searched until we
finially found the perfect tree.
Along with our brothers, we began
to gather wood, and pieces of
fragments for the roof. When all
the material was gathered, the
construction began.
We worked day after day, endlessly
until we saw the tree house coming
together. Little by little it took
shape. At last it was time for the
curtains to be hung. Our lovely dish
towels were hung from tree limbs.
Now for the furniture. Old boards
were nailed together for our chairs.
Little pieces of cloth attached for
the covers. We were getting ready to
move in. In our childish eyes, it
was so beautiful.
So many happy hours were spent there.
Every afternoon when we arrived home
from school, we met at our tree house.
We talked, laughed, whispered secrets.
Enjoyed our tea parties, and the time
spent there.
One summer afternoon, sad news arrived.
My friend was moving to another city,
far away.Leaving me and the tree house
behind. Inside I cried. Suddenly I
was alone. Now it seemed so big and
lonely. Before so small and full of
life.
As we walked away that hot summer
afternoon so long ago, holding hands.
we knew life for us would never be
the same. We made a pledge to each
other and set a date someday we would
return.
Our tree house remained, but started
looking old and battered from the
storms of life.I no longer went
there, as I also moved on to another
city. Before leaving I returned to
our childhood fantasy, saddened and
whispered goodby. Walked away with
tear filled eyes.Promising to return
someday.
The years have flown by, and today
I am returning to the place I so
loved as a child. Looking at the
house old and worn. yet so lovely
and inviting.
Climbing the broken ladder, I went
inside. Our curtains were tattered
but still remain. Side by side our
dolls were sleeping in their tiny
beds. On the table a tiny tea set.
Attached to my friends doll a note
reading.
DEAR HEATHER;
I cannot attend our tea party today,
as we planned.Someday we will meet
at the big tree house in the sky.
There we will drink our tea from
from golden goblets. I am here now,
setting the table, and preparing
the tea for our party, waiting
to welcome your arrival
Your childhood friend, with love

Mustard field
One day while walking in a mustard field,
I found a swing hanging on a mango tree,
mustard flowers were swirling with breeze,
birds were singing on tree,
there I found a swing on mango tree,
its ropes were long and thick,
I rode on it,
it moved up in the air like a bird,
and return back to move up there,
I saw a well from up there,
and bird nest on tree on back in the air,
the swing was moving here and there,
it was not aware of who I am,
just it was giving me feeling divine,
without any question or discrimination,
I found joy to fill my heart and I lived that moment like a bird!

Cedric's Message.
Cedric approached you
in the playground and said
My sister Christina
wants to see you
on the playing field lunchtime
and he said it
in a quiet voice
as if he didn't want
the other boys to hear
he ran messages for girls
and off he went
to play with some other boys
leaving you to stare out
onto the empty playing field
and so lunch time
after you'd eaten dinner
you went onto the playing field
beneath the summer sun
and there she was
over by the wire fence
waiting for you
and you said
Cedric said you wanted to see me
and she said
Yes do you mind
if we walk off alone together
I don't want other's ears
to move in on our conversation
No sure
you said
Let's go over by the woods
by the far fence
and so you walked off with her
across the playing field
by other kids who were playing
football or sitting talking
or playing skip rope
or whatever
and when you came
to the woods
you sat down with her
and she said
You do love me
don't you?
I mean you're not
seeing anyone else?
You looked across
the playing field
to where you'd sat
with another
some months before
and she had asked
the same question
but since then
it had turned
momentarily sour
Yes and no
you said
looking back at her
taking in her dark hair
and deep eyes
and how her hand
lay on her thigh
covered by grey skirt
and her naked knees
just visible
to the eye
What do you mean
yes and no?
she asked
you watched
her lips move
and replied
Yes I love you
and no I'm not
seeing another
and she smiled at you
and put her hand on yours
and waited for a kiss
and so you did
her lips on yours
out by the woods
on that summer day
out of doors.

Chivalry
I saw you across the room
and my heart stopped.
You noticed
and I looked away.
I saw you across the room
this time you didn't see
me looking at you.
I moved my eyes
across the all of you
moved my lips
feeling my breath stop.
'Beautiful' I thought
'just a beautiful man'
Not supposed to notice
all the pretty men,
not if you're a bit older:
but pretty I still am
and I want to know
if younger men know;
If I can still attract
a look
still get noticed;
even admired.
Or am I now invisible
to any young man
under 25?
A critical point
in every woman's life
where the line between
younger and older lies.
I move
to catch your line of sight
just to see if your eye
would linger long enough
to make me understand
you wanted a second look.
You glanced
but then glanced away.
I decided for another try
and stood behind
so that if you moved
you encounter me
and I'd dropp my notepad.
Why pass 35
do I
still need to be admired
by younger men?
You moved and my pad dropped.
And with little or no eye-contact,
you picked it up
with a smile
and gave it back.
I bobbed my head
moved on
felled by
indifferent
chivalry
and passage
into
the Older Woman Category.

Ethel And The Streaker (Fun Poem 82)
Based on characters created by Ray Stevens in his song The Streak.
Now Ethel was doing her shopping
with here friend Maizey-Be,
the local gossip of the community.
As they pushed their trolleys to the car
when someone shouted,
“Don’t look ladies! ”
It was too late;
Ethel looked and was moved on the spot.
Her mouth dropped open with absolute shock.
There darting across the car park
in all his naked glory with a saggy physic
was a streaker.
Maizey-Be saw him too
and fainted to the ground.
As fast as he came
the streaker was now gone.
Ethel was in the library
with her friend Maizey-Be,
the local gossip of the community.
They just picked a book from the shelf
when someone shouted,
“Don’t look Ladies.”
It was too late, Ethel already had an eye full
and was moved on the spot and dropped her book
the streaker came running
through the isle between the bookcases
in all his saggy glory.
Maizey-Be saw him too
and fainted on the floor
as the streaker rushed by
and disappeared out the door.
Ethel was at a baseball game
with her friend Maizey-Be,
the local gossip of the community.
As they watched, the batter hit a ball into out field
someone shouted,
“Ladies don’t look! ”
Too late, Ethel looked with her binoculars
and was moved on the spot.
The streaker was her beloved
husband Fred Trotalot.
He was showing everyone
more than she had seen in years
as he streaked around the diamond
to the home base.
Now Ethel and Maizey-Be
were not going to be out done.
They peeled off their cloths
and after Fred did run.
To their sagging body parts,
it was a breath of fresh air.
Fred looked back
and muttered to himself at the site.
“Oh my goodness, what have I done! ”
The ladies all wrinkly and crinkly
showed off their finery
to all those in the press box
who at the shock closed their eyes.
Fred kept on running, wanting to get there.
He couldn’t stop, as he had nothing to wear.
The police came running on to the field,
blankets in their hands to cover up the states
that was running round the field.
As each one they caught,
they marched them of the field,
until it was only Ethel
that was still running around.
Maizey-Be had fainted by this time
and rolled on her stomach to hide her modesty.
The crowd gave an ecstatic applause
as Ethel ran with her arms in the air.
It was as if she had scored a home run.
The police finally caught her
and all three were charged
with giving everyone the best laugh of the afternoon.
The baseball game continued
after this short interlude.

We Still
We still can make it through this,
We would have our moments,
We would have fights,
We still always love each other,
Always argue over the smallest things,
Never to stop to think that I would lose you,
Lose you over a rumor that was started by my ex best friend,
I never knew the truth behind those brown eyes, dirty blonde hair of yours,
The truth was I was falling in love with you,
We still can make up but now its too late cause you have moved on,
But my heart, my mind, my soul hasn’t moved on,
Never stop to think about you from all the fun memories of you,
It feels like you are here helping me out through my toughest time but your not I have or need to move on cause you are gone forever and I know that you’ll never ever come back.

Highschool Friendships
High school friendships rarely last
Eventually school becomes a blurry past
As we get caught up in our lives
Forget to be good husbands and wives
Constantly working to pay bills and taxes
No one stops and relaxes
Kids are ignored by busy parents
Who always get in arguments
As we move along its work, eat, sleep
We all continue weather happy or sad
And sometimes we miss the high school friends we had
