Thoughts To Ponder # 2
I run the race
with wish to win
against the best
Many have character
others show power
I rely on humility
Character breaks when provoked
while power fails when over ruled
but humility stands against all odds
At the end of obstacles
true humility will prevail
as character and power fail

A Search For Humility
Humility is a place where men of
all color and religion can meet in
the spirit of peace and love.
Humility is a place where brother embraces
brother where the common bond, is the
common goal.
Is there any such place as humility? Yes.
However, one has to first find it within
themselves, least they not recognize it,
when they come upon it.

Humility is to make a right estimate of one's self; it is no humility for a man to think less of himself than he ought, though it might rather puzzle him to do that.

The first test of a truly great man is his humility. By humility I don't mean doubt of his powers or hesitation in speaking his opinion, but merely an understanding of the relationship of what he can say and what he can do.

Pride and humility
Pride is the trademark of ego.
Pride erects ego to be broke.
Humility is the spirit's root.
Humility vanquishes the pride.

A thought from Isaac of Nineveh
Isn’t it extraordinary – when
you come to think of it – that
the One whom atheists deny
(for then they would have to acknowledge
One greater than themselves…)
knew, knows, about humility…?
I mean, how could He?
Suppose, He hadn’t sent
such men as Jesus Christ
to show us that humility
was, is, godly, and indeed,
a path to know that One?
Would we then be treating
the humble as the self-victimising
scum of the earth? And we, assured in being
proud and arrogant?
What else could that One
know of contraries and opposites,
paradox and contradiction,
unless He (or She, or It)
knows all; knows us
better than we know ourselves?

Annunciation
Humility this day is
that she has passed all thought
in stillness; beyond waiting
rests her being.
Then like a lightning flash
without light, without sound;
micromoment of all presence that ever is,
in which she knows all that there is to know
beyond all thinking it; humility
and glory then the same.
Now no need for questioning:
she nor others; disbelievers; enemies;
herself, all that concerns her, now known fully;
she, now full of truth.
Later words may come;
as though there might be two in her humility;
she, now full of unity;
she lives the perfect prayer:
perfect come from perfect;
and when her time and time itself is ripe,
perfect shall be taken from that perfect;
and perfect will remain with her;
she, now full of god, of good;
who dares or dares not call her blest
save she herself; hands folded into lap,
head a little bowed, eyes down;
she now full of god, of good?

It is essential to employ, trust, and reward those whose perspective, ability, and judgment are radically different from yours. It is also rare, for it requires uncommon humility, tolerance, and wisdom.

The Churches must learn humility as well as teach it.

Y..... A flake of truth
A flake of truth
A crumb of honesty
A dropp of kindness
A grain of humility
Himalayan mounts of truth
Thousands loafs of honesty
Oceanic fluxes of kindness
Truck loads of humility
From a good start
To a lofty destination

Universal joke
You can’t get really near
the Beloved Friend
who some call God
without a sense of humour;
humour; and paradox:
sadness brings humility,
humility catches God’s ear…
now you’re laughing for sheer joy.
And have you heard this one…:
you can’t take anything from this world
without the world taking something from you…
isn’t that the best joke that ever was…?
Cows, who ruminate as well as Rumi ever did
Call it the Unified Field Theory.

The humility in action
A great man met his childhood teacher,
Who himself is a renowned teacher.
The teacher’s humility:
You are such a boy
That any Tom, Dick or Harry
Could groom you up.
The student’s humility:
You are such a person
That any Tom, Dick or Harry
Could grow up under you.

The bird that soars on highest wing
The bird that soars on highest wing
Builds on the ground her lowly nest;
And she that doth most sweetly sing
Sings in the shade when all things rest:
In lark and nightingale we see
What honour hath humility.
The saint that wears heaven's brightest crown
In deepest adoration bends;
The weight of glory bows him down
Then most when most his soul ascends.
Nearest the throne itself must be
The footstool of humility.

Remaining Meek And Weak
Those with kept mental issues unfaced.
And taught by lessons they follow,
That a keeping to stay in their place...
Is a sign of divine humility that proves them loyal,
Demonstrates their faith as a devoted belief...
That stays to keep them remaining meek and weak.
Are left behind in a darkness to embrace delusions.
And will never perceive themselves as tools used,
To produce other fools who believe there is honor...
In expressing an accepted suppression enforced,
And without divorcing is shared to be worshipped.
Those with kept mental issues unfaced.
And taught by lessons they follow to obey,
That a keeping to stay in their place...
Is a sign of divine humility that proves them loyal,
Demonstrates their faith as a devoted belief...
Can be observed any day of the week,
Feeding upon insecurities and ignorance...
For the rest of their lives and not hiding the effects,
Of their self hatred that is impressed...
Upon a distressed environment that reflects acceptance.

This Gift That Is In You
Do not neglect the gift that is in you,
And let no man despise your youth! !
But try to be an example to the believer in words and in conduct,
And willing to learn with humility!
