Talents

Lucky am I, a well-talented youth;
Umptine talents I possessed- is the truth!
Talents, God has given to all of us;
He decides to defer or allow use.

Some have talents many; some few; some none;
Nurture them, we must whenever we can;
Develop them, ’tis our sacred duty;
Some are ignorant of inner beauty,

Which lies hidden, seek opportunity;
To express; remain not with vanity;
In one’s life; To remain in a shackle!
Let not frustration be thine obstacle.

Just as the male deer knows not its own musk;
Murmur we must not, take desired risk;
Await thy golden time, God gives some day;
Render justice to thine talents some way!

Talents Die Easily In Africa!

Oh talents, oh talents!
Talents do die easily in Africa;
But, talents are special gifts which,
Money cannot buy.
It is a special gift,
It is in you,
You don't even need a Higher Degree for them;
Talents are everywhere on this earth.

The talents of Africa do die very often,
Who is even ready to listen to them?
The true talents of the Africans go to the drain.
Like a rain on a train,
Like an early wake up call without a view;
Life is really so strange over here in Africa.

I have a dream!
But, who will listen?
My brain is with various talents but,
Who will help me with my dreams?
Talents, talents, talents! !
Africa turns to regress in this field while,
Others do progress!

Our talents can be useful,
It's time we give a helping hand;
Oh talents, oh talents!
It's time we listen to those who have them;
Cos', we are the world.

One prayer I have -- all prayers in one,

One prayer I have - all prayers in one, -
When I am wholly thine;
Thy will, my God, thy will be done,
And let that will be mine.

All-wise, almighty, and all-good!
In Thee I firmly trust;
Thy ways, unknown or understood,
Are merciful and just.

May I remember, that to Thee
Whate'er I have I owe;
And back, in gratitude from me,
May all thy bounties flow.

Thy gifts are only then enjoyed
When used as talents lent;
Those talents only well employed
When in thy service spent.

Pointless Oppositions

So happy am I and pleased to see,
Others with talents to express them publicly.
When I began to do this I felt alone and strange.
Especially when people misunderstood my attempts,
To do what I desired and not seek attention to get.
Although it was part of the territory to be exposed.
I only knew of a love of it.
Ego had nothing to do what I chose!

And as years have gone by so happy am I,
To see others with 'gifts' express them in public.
I know how lonely and difficult it gets,
When others with no interests...
'Assume' they can pass judgement with senseless tests.
Hoping to discourage those born to do their best.
To only witness one determined to be who they are,
And achieve with a doing to reflect their best efforts.

So happy am I and pleased to see,
Others with talents to express them publicly.
And...
Putting to rest,
Those who protest with their pointless oppositions.
Only those who know,
Grow from those wounds to heal to show what's real.

Sonnet: Human Talents

Human beings are made of finer stuff!
Some introspection will reveal the same;
Some have many talents- This is no bluff;
If well-nurtured, they give him name and fame.

But where is the time to do all these things?
Time is so short, most precious and fleeting;
Much of it is wasted just like hot drinks,
In worthless things, in glamour and eating.

Time is lost in unknown ways every day;
A lot too in emotional reactions;
Time can be saved in a sensible way;
Talents give success by proper actions.

O man, search thy mind and heart for talents;
You’ll surely find them in measures immense.

But One Talent

Ye who yourselves of larger worth esteem
Than common mortals, listen to my dream,
and learn the lesson of life's cozening cheat,
The coinage of conceit.

-The angel, guardian of my youth and age,
Spread out before me an account-book's page,
Saying, 'This column marks what thou dost owe,
The gain thou hast to show.'

Spirit,' I said, 'I know, alas! too well
How poor the tale thy record has to tell.
Much I received, the little I have brought
Seems by its side as naught.

Five talents, all of Ophir's purest gold,
These five fair caskets ranged before thee hold;
The first can show a few poor shekels' gain,
The rest unchanged remain.

'Bringing my scanty tribute, overawed,
To Him who reapeth where He hath not strawed,
I tremble like a culprit when I count
My whole vast debt's amount.

'What will He say to one from whom were due
Ten talents, when he comes with less than two?
What can I do but shudder and await
The slothful servant's fate?'

-As looks a mother on an erring child,
The angel looked me in the face and smiled:
'How couldst thou, reckoning with thyself, contrive
To count thy talents five?

'These caskets which thy flattering fancies gild
Not all with Ophir's precious ore are filled;
Thy debt is slender, for thy gift was small:
One talent,-that was all.

'This second casket, with its grave pretence,
Is weighty with thine IGNORANCE, dark and dense,
Save for a single glowworm's glimmering light
To mock its murky night

'The third conceals the DULNESS that was thine.
How could thy mind its lack of wit divine?
Let not what Heaven assigned thee bring thee blame;
Thy want is not thy shame.

'The fourth, so light to lift, so fair to see,
Is filled to bursting with thy VANITY,
The vaporous breath that kept thy hopes alive
By counting one as five.

'These held but little, but the fifth held less,-
Only blank vacuum, naked nothingness,
An idiot's portion. He who gave it knows
Its claimant nothing owes.

'Thrice happy pauper he whose last account
Shows on the debtor side the least amount!
The more thy gifts, the more thou needs must pay
On life's dread reckoning day.'

-Humbled, not grieving to be undeceived,
I woke, from fears of hopeless debt relieved:
For sparing gifts but small returns are due,
Thank Heaven I had so few!

Everybody Is Very Best In Something

Everybody is born with a special talent,
So don't give up your dreams so easily;
Like a talent from above to fulfil a message.
Everybody is born with a gift,
And our life-sytle lies in our own hands;
For everybody has a purpose on this earth too.
Everybody is very best in something,
So we must be ready to exhibit our various talents;
Knowing that, everybody is very best at something.
Nobody on this earth is born useless,
So pick up your mantle and make a change to all;
Like the 'munite-man' to show off his stuff.
So show your talents to the world,
And show your identity to us all;
For everybody is very best at something.

With Less Sweat

Why is it,
That someone will waste their skills...
And talents,
With a wish to perform with the giving of their gifts...
On someone else's created stage,
To shower them with 'their' brilliance.

Why would someone abandoned their own abilities,
To create their own stage from those resources given...
With a highlighting of those,
Who will not be demeaned because it is known...
They have a need to fit into the wrong places.
With a giving away to others...
Who look to make claims of discoveries stolen,
To produce their own names to be seen in lights.

Leaving people with talents to fight,
To be seen...
Only to have what they bring,
Used.
To be 'thanked' but excused from the audition process.

I 'feel' for those who are told their presence is not needed.
But their unique talents exposed were certainly used,
To be re-labelled and approved for purposes to market.
And...
With less sweat that had been sacrificed.
At the expense of stealing from someone their scene.

'We're sorry.
However,
Thank you for sharing with us your unique abilities.
We'll keep your 'info' in our files.
Expect to hear from us...
One day.'

Leaves

Leaves fall down on the ground.

Yellow.

Green.

Brown .

Which ones are the better leaves?

All of them are equal for they are all leaves.

Each leave may have a different shape and color but still not better than the other.

For humans are similar to leaves we may all have different shapes, sizes, and talents.

But all still human beings.

We fall.

We rise

And then pick ourselves up.

So we all aren't better than each other.

But just have different talents.

Unique Masterpiece

Remember, you are a unique masterpiece.
With your talents, tastes and toils you can increase
Chances that this world will house a better fellow man.
No one like you has gone before… or ever will again.

Your talents are impressive, but only if you recognize
Their strength depends on faith in self. Then you’re truly wise.
The world prefers to ignore your words, as it rushes on its way.
But you can change minds and hearts if you believe what you say.

Your tastes in life can’t be mundane or your talents won’t unfold.
To better complacent man, your values must be brave and bold.
Study history’s masters and disasters then chart your time.
Battles will be hard, fields scarred, but less would be a crime.

How many times have superior toils determined spoils of war?
Make that extra effort until your mind and body roar.
It’s not brains or brawn, but dedication on the practice field.
Unique masterpiece, never cease. You can make the world yield!

Sonnet: Mere Talents Aren’t Enough

The man with talents can’t always come first!
This world became imperfect aft man came;
Sometimes in life, water can’t quench one’s thirst;
If world’s gone bad, then all men are to blame.

Apart from talents, strategy matters!
All may not reach a ladder’s top at once;
No darning makes anew, cloth in tatters;
If bowling’s strong, you tend to get less runs.

You know your strengths and weaknesses in depth;
If you can’t win, you need not always cry;
Sometimes, we sleep in places yet unswept;
If poor, you choose the field in which you try.

While other things matter if you must win,
Nevertheless, we ought to avoid sin.

Stung By Ego

They all lay claims
On talents they have.
As if to aim their comments,
Towards someone believed
To be ego driven mad.
But anyone who is blessed
With gifts.
Understand that God
Wants them to work the ones
They have been blessed with.
To sit around and just make claims...
Only proves and displays a laziness gained.
And anyone who is not stung by ego...
Knows this sometimes,
Is not only heaven but most times hell!
As others who have visions of fame...
Are asleep to awaken,
With talents and gifts 'they' may know
Worthy of showing to produce to tell.
But seem to have less time to apply them,
And more time to find flourishing lies that swell...
Their heads!
With embellishment to relish,
Instead!
As they raise their lips in conceit,
To flap well!
As they prop up their feet,
In front of a TV.
Sitting their behinds on spreading seats,
To snack and eat!

Based Upon Materialistic Concepts

I can not call my breathing a hobby.
Nor do I relate,
To those who associate creativity...
To a dollar bill.

And there are many like that.
Attached to things.
Disconnected spiritually...
To any talents or gifts,
To them God brings!

When asked how much I 'make'...
I get irate with folks like that.
And those who say they have no time to create...
I know right away,
With them I do not relate.

And those who say they have faith in God...
To only admit,
They do not accept God given talents,
Are their main jobs.
I have limited patience.
Knowing from them,
I can only expect a production of excuses.
Based upon materialistic concepts.

And as I age...
From folks like this,
I wish to keep my distance.
And God kept pleased!
Since He is the only One,
To know where I come from.

All is Possible

Each day is a miracle; each moment a gift.
Each new experience gives passions a lift.
The key to be happy is one word alone:

Faith in yourself. Have no doubt what you own.
You are a miracle with talents unique.
Invest in your moments that pass like a streak!

No limits exist except ones you impose.
Think ahead of the world. Be one of those
Whose vision captures what the future will hold,

With faith that its path is about to unfold.
Miracles beckon as challenges arrive.
With you all can happen. Make those talents thrive!

Failing doesn't make you a failure,
it only makes you stronger.
Don't listen to their hateful words,
