Spate in Persecution of Indian Christians?

Conversions come from God, the Almighty!
The ways of God are strange, unfathomable;
Christ Jesus forecast persecutions when
One follows Him on road to Calvary.

The Bible is the Word of God, most High;
The words are true and give light to mankind;
The words can work miracles in minds, hearts;
None can prevent the souls that heed His call!

A few fanatics spread disharmony;
The nation ought to ban these groups of men;
They sow the seeds of discord amidst all;
‘All Indians are brothers and sisters’ – Know.

Christians of India are Indians as well.
Why destroy churches, unleash on them, hell?
Why kill and maim the 3% of souls?
They are ready to lay down lives for God!

No one has right to kill or destroy homes;
No heinous crimes on earth go unpunished;
All minorities should be protected;
The fanatics should be booked very fast..

The floods and droughts are killing more people;
Abortions, hunger takes so many lives;
The poor are turning poorer every day;
Why destroy places of worship sacred?

The Holy Spirit will show them the way;
God will punish those who destroy churches;
All violent men will reap a violent end;
All Christians pray God ushers peace again.

The noble work of Indian Christians stand
As testimony to the love of God,
Who loves all righteous souls and sinners too;
Why kill and maim all Indian Christians? –Tell.

Are Indian Christians from another world?
They fought for Freedom and shed their blood too;
They serve to mitigate sufferings around;
Why burn them live as if they had done crimes?

The blood of martyrs has founded the Church;
All Christians wait for Christ’s second coming;
All evil-doers will be punished then, with
Hell’s pit fiery, as their eternal home.

All Christians pray that God should calm the place;
A few extremists can’t sow much discord;
Awake, O Leaders, ‘Make the land aright.’
Democracy of India can’t go wrong!

O Living God, One and Lord Jesus Christ!
Pour your compassion on the suffering souls!
Let religion not cause a deep divide
Amidst the Indians who are all one flock!

‘Bees will Return to Hives! ’

The Saffronization of India?
–Phulbani, Kandhammal, Orissa, India.
'Calm follows every storm;
But Christians must be calm! '

‘Where martyrs’ blood be spilt,
More churches will be built!
Without much shame or guilt,
Fanatics hit the hilt’

Their saffron hues, they spray
On Dalit Christians, aye!
They won’t allow them pray;
They hunt them night and day!

What tragedy now looms!
‘Turn Hindu, ’ call now booms;
‘Or die; be bruised and maimed! ’
Why Christians all are blamed?

Frenzied mobs on rampage:
A war on Christians wage;
Conversion is their lie,
As Christians many die!

Can’t one profess their faith
Of choice and freedom, say?
Are Christians not Indians?
God will show them their way!

Such states are keeping quiet;
They want Christians to fight;
‘Violence begets violence’
Most Christians stay calm, hence.

Are there no basic rights?
Most Christian homes lost lights;
Hundreds have been destroyed;
Pleas have gone null and void.

Most Christians are too hurt;
No one seems to regret;
Churches are simply torched,
And human beings scorched!

As angry mobs destroy,
And loot the Christian homes;
And burn them down overnight;
O, see the Dalit’s plight!

‘Kandhammal is burning;
Christians are hiding
in the forests near-by,
Out of fear for their lives!

The Bureaucracy’s sleeping!
A community’s weeping;
And the nation goes on
As usual, from dusk to dawn!

Who gives the rioters rights
To kill and loot and maim?
The government takes no blame;
Keeps its political aim.

All Indians are brothers;
They spare not nuns, sisters!
They burn Christians alive,
For converting the tribes?

Will not some leader ask?
Is peace then no one’s task?
Christians cannot worship
Nor live in peace, friendship.

Conversion is excuse
For mobs to cause abuse
Of Dalit Christians poor
Who grew in numbers more!

God watches all these crimes;
He will usher new climes;
As martyrs’ blood cries, pleads
To stop arson, misdeeds.

Has Nature lost its cool?
More floods are going to kill
the robust and the ill,
The ‘wise fanatic fool! ’

Shouldn’t Christians not unite,
As churches, homes ignite?
Our patience isn’t weakness;
God is God of fairness!

If churches bear insult
Temples aren’t stronger built;
Time teaches all lessons,
As blatant lie weakens.

They blame the poor Christians
Who belong to same soil;
Their living God’s mighty –
One, only Almighty!

But how long will they kill
And take innocent lives?
The fanatics have skill?
‘Bees will return to hives! ’

Such states can’t then progress
If violence won’t regress;
God will not spare culprits
Ready are His hell-pits!

VANAMIKA – ‘the lily of the forest’

A pregnant Christian mother
Ran for the forest’s shelter
To save two lives!

And in the forest’s coolness
And in the light with darkness
Was born her child!

She named her ‘Vanamika’
(‘The lily of the forest’)
– A mother’s joy!

This happened in Orissa
Where Christians were driven out
To the forest!

Churches have been vandalized;
Most Christian homes have been burned;
Some burnt alive!

Work of Hindu fanatics
Who loot and burn and destroy
All things, Christian!

‘You can change a person’s mind;
You can kill the body too,
But you can’t touch the soul! ’

Christians are followers of Christ;
Soldiers of Christ Jesus;
Children of God.

The Holy Spirit within
Keeps Christians from every sin;
They always win!

O God of Heaven, save us,
From orgies of hell on earth,
Unleashed by men!

Bring back peace to Orissa;
Rebuild churches, homes destroyed;
Spread the Love of Christ!

Send an angel, God, we ask,
For the miraculous task;
All evil-doers unmask!

Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity

Is India Still Secular?

A nun was gang-raped in public;
A priest was beaten black and blue!
Half-naked, both were paraded;
While police-men stood near-by mute!

They burnt houses of Christians!
They torched the churches and killed some;
They reconverted quite a few;
‘Christians have no place in own land! ’

This was how Kandhamal returned
the love and charity of both;
They suffered for the sake of Christ!
Shame on a nation with such crimes!

Religions have sense of values;
But fanatics don’t have any;
Are not the Christians Indians too;
Why blame them for a Hindu’s death?

‘A little pencil in God’s hand’, -
in words of Mother Teresa –
are missionary sisters who serve
serve the poorest poor for Christ’s sake!

They see Christ in the poor they meet;
Like pencils they serve till worn out;
In white sarees with blue-border,
Their Foundress was Mother Teresa;

They offer smiles to distressed souls;
They caress people abandoned;
They console hearts filled with chaos;
The unwanted are made happy.

But Jesus touches any heart!
He turned Saul to Apostle Paul!
God’s-calling, no one can refuse;
All souls surrender to His love.

The ways of God are strange and queer!
God chooses anyone He wants;
He will not neglect souls that pray;
God’s rod is weapon powerful-most!

The country where Teresa slogged,
And won the Noble Prize for Peace
Has sadly ignored her sisters,
Who suffer ignominy much.

No one knows what one will become!
Religion is a transient thing –
The outer garb for every soul,
That must be pure to Heaven reach.

Why crush the flowers meant for God?
No man can win against God’s power;
Why ruin lives who serve the Lord?
God’s curse and wrath awaits such souls!

A priest or nun has made a vow –
His body, mind belongs to God;
He lives his life just for God’s sake;
His soul will surely reach heaven.

To be a Christian is God’s will!
A Christian is proud to be one;
He’ll give his life for Jesus’ sake;
His love for God, no one can steal!

X’ians

Destroy, you may, the temples of the Lord;
Raze down, you may, the places of worship;
Bring down, you may, the churches and steeples;
The Holy Spirit dwells within X’ians!

You persecute the Christians of the globe;
You desecrate their sacred book – Bible;
You break their sanctified statues revered;
Their faith will stay despite the devils’ works!

You take away their basic rights in life;
Deny, you may basic amenities;
You put them within jails for no reason;
Christ Jesus, Saviour is their refuge, strength!

Threaten, you may the Christians upon earth;
Ill-treat their families at work and homes;
You legislate anti-Christian statutes;
Nothing deters their verve or nerve to live!

One living God is God of all Christians;
The God of goodness abhors abortions;
Abetting murder in the womb is sin;
You’ll pay the price by going down to hell!

No sculptor destroys his loved creations;
No builder ruins erections made new;
No ryot burns his field of sprouted crop;
No parent’s heart dare kill the unborn child!

All mortal sinners will get punishments;
Plagues and pestilences could strike their land;
The penitent could escape God’s fair rod;
The living God is pro-life from the start!

The lack of prayers brings us sufferings;
Less godliness is cause of all our woes;
One’s conscience helps decide all things aright;
‘The worldly-wise can’t keep their souls in grace! ’

Our life on earth must buy eternity;
A sinful soul can’t enter God’s abode;
Let leaders bring not God’s wrath on their lands;
Pray that your land and people are God-spared!

A Village In Orissa, India

-Where Persecution of the Indian Christian Continues Unabated

A nun was raped by a gang of men;
A priest was beaten; his eyes gouged off;
And he finally died!
Churches were torched;
Sexual assaults are rampant;
Women and children were not spared;
Many were beaten and even maimed;
Some are missing;
Many were burnt alive;
Crowds have run to the shelter of forests;
Homes of Christians have been destroyed;
Many were driven naked in the streets!
Christians of this village live in fear;
Some have reconverted to Hindu faith to keep their lives;
Yet, the Indian Christian was always known for his non-violence;
If someone converts, it is the ‘will of God’.
And such things happen in a secular, democratic country like India!
And while all these terrible things are happening,
The rest of India - people, press, politicians, police
SLEEP

The world goes on as usual;
Perhaps, the beginning of new persecution of Indian Christians
And blood of new Christian martyrs
Is needed to cleanse the land
Of its sins!
God save these poor souls!
Please Jesus, forgive the perpetrators.

WILL NOT THE WORLD AWAKE
TO STOP THE ATROCITIES?

Like Jesus …

Like Jesus, Christians ought to bear a cross,
And carry it in His foot-steps and fall;
And drink from cup for sake of God though gall,
And walk to Calvary for Christ’s one cause!

Like Jesus, Christians must suffer a lot,
And live a humble life in ways of God,
To reach eternal bliss of Lord’s abode:
By death on cross, we sinners are all bought!

Like Jesus, Christians obey Our Father,
And reach Him through their incessant prayer,
And intercession by Mary Mother;
Our earthly problems, we will not bother!

Like Jesus, Christians will suffer great loss;
Be humiliated for no crimes of ours;
Be ridiculed and flayed, without a cause;
God is our leader, rear-guard and our Boss!

Mark My Words!

'You mark my words, ' the Cabbie said,
To his fare for the night,
'Us Christians know what lies ahead
And we will steer you right.'
Then he explained his earnest faith
In Jesus Christ the Lord
And said that He was strong to save,
That's why He is adored.

'You mark my words, ' the Cabbie said,
'Christ is the light of men!
Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead!
He's coming back again!
The Holy Bible's prophecies
Are meant to put us straight.
They prove Christ is the Prince of Peace
For whom us Christians wait.'

'You mark my words, ' the Cabbie said,
'Lord Jesus died for you!
Upon that Cross His Blood was shed
To prove God's love is true.
For all our sins He took the blame,
Then took our sins away.
That's why us Christians praise His Name!
That's why us Christians pray.'

'You mark my words, ' the Cabbie said,
To his fare for the night,
'Us Christians must be Spirit-led,
Serve God with all our might! '
The passenger had understood.
He was a Christian, too.
His heart was warmed, 'Our God is good!
Good night and God bless you! '

Jesus Christ, Our Hope, Strength and Refuge!

For sins of human beings all,
Lord Jesus laid His life on cross;
Although a sin-free soul Himself,
He suffered, died to redeem man.

He shed His every dropp of blood,
Emancipating human race
From punishment by hell for sins –
Such heinous crimes upon the earth!

The cross is part of Christian’s life,
And persecutions will happen,
As Christ predicted all these things,
For those who walked in His foot-steps!

His Holy Spirit guides Christians,
Who live a righteous life for Christ,
The only Son of Almighty –
A heart of immense love for man!

But Christ resurrected from death!
He won clear victory o’er satan;
All Christians good will do the same;
This faith is something strangely true.

Let humiliations come in life!
Let trials, tribulations come!
Let strife threaten our faith and hope!
Christ stays with us till end of time!

A Christian takes his cross and walks
Behind the Savior, Jesus Christ –
The Light and Truth and only Way
To reach Heaven, abode of God!

Change From The Inside Out

The more that some Christians change, the more they remain the same,
For many people who claim to be saved, are only Christians in name.

Christianity is not simply a religion for man to deal with strife,
But it's God personally reaching down to man to offer him new life.

Change in one's life is not simply an option for each Child of God,
For we were commanded to leave behind the path we once had trod.

Although we live in the world, we're not to be of the world we're in,
For God's desire for us would be hindered if we get entangled in sin.

Christians are sealed by The Holy Spirit until the day of redemption,
You are then set apart for the work of The Lord, with no Exemption.

Our lives belong to God, as He purchased us with the blood of Christ,
Christ is where we place our trust, as we become a living sacrifice.

And it's to the patterns of this world we are not to be conformed,
Instead it's through the Word that renews, we are to be transformed.

For all in Christ, the old passes away as we become a New Creation,
And God, who has reconciled us, give us a ministry of reconciliation.

So our lives should now be used to reach others with God's Salvation,
It should be our compassion to reach every tribe, tongue and nation.

So today is the day to let The Lord inside and really make a change,
And just like John the Baptist my friend, you will never be the same.

Corpus Christi

This world needs Christ more than before,
As sins and crimes abound galore;
World’s darkness threatens truth and light,
As sun (Son) looks tarnished, lesser bright!

More clouds of torment fill the sky,
As human babies in wombs die;
More sheep stay scattered, shepherdless,
With scarce meadows and water less.

The Word of God will reach all souls,
As God sends shepherds with new roles;
All Christians ought to sacrifice,
And pray to God to make them wise.

The Omnipotent God will win,
And save mankind from every sin;
So, Christ had died upon the Cross,
And paid the price for sinners’ loss.

The world looks like an empty dream,
As Godless people much more scream;
All basic tenets, morals, codes,
Have reached the treacherous cross-roads!

Just God alone can save the earth,
Destroyed by human faults from birth;
All righteous souls must keep their heads,
As man with another man weds!

Satanic men desecrate Christ’s
Body and blood is spilled unkissed;
Blasphemies rant the air with pride,
As world will not in God abide.

Oh, what a world of Godlessness,
As man loves sin and more darkness!
Though Nature hits him cruelly,
The love of God remains truly.

The answer to all worldly woes
Is Corpus Christi – wisdom shows;
Let Christians live by Word of God,
And take away the curse and rod.

O God on High, shower your grace
Improving man’s deceitful face;
Let faith afill all hearts and minds,
As man in Godliness, peace finds!

On Saints and Martyrs

Our sufferings are not greater than those
Martyrs, prophets, apostles, saints, who died,
A death of persecution for Christ's sake;
Upon their blood-shed sprung the Catholic Church!

Lives of all these holy persons reveal
The Holy Spirit dwelt within their flesh,
Emboldening their spirits to the core,
So that their faith remained until last breath!

Let Christians offer their sufferings to Christ,
Who took upon Himself all mankind's sins
And died upon the cross redeeming man,
And opened heaven to penitent souls!

How wonderful to bear witness to Christ!
Lord remembers all those who died for Him;
He promised eternity for those souls,
Who lived for Christ's sake all through their lives!

God's glory shines through exemplary lives,
Who lost their lives for sake of faith and Christ;
They will be closest to God in heaven,
Remaining so unto eternity!

A Catholic House-warming Prayer

By sweat of human forehead built,
And money earned in honest ways;
Reside good Christians within it;
God bless this family always!

O Holy Spirit, Dove of peace,
Preserve love, faith and unity;
Help us to live our life with ease
Through fortitude and piety.

O Mother Mary, pray for us!
Ask Jesus Christ to ever bless,
And keep our souls in grace of God,
Until we part to His abode!

Saint Joseph, show us God is first,
And how to be a father best;
And teach our children about Christ,
And emulate the Holy Nest.

O saints and angels, dwell here-in;
Pray that we stay away from sin;
And keep our soul’s gaze towards God,
Living our lives, like Jesus Lord.

O Jesus Lord, bless us, we pray;
Protect this home both night and day;
Help us to carry our life’s cross,
And serve God nobly without pause!

Lord Jesus, be our guiding Light;
Help us to speak the Truth always;
Goad us to do all things aright;
Proclaiming God to human race!

Dedicated lovingly to my dear sister Dr. A.Sugagemma, M.D.,
Dr. Gangadharan M.S., and son, Gautham Anto

We’re Indians First and Lastly!

We’re Indians firstly!
And that’s the way, we’re known all o’er the globe;
And that is what we tell the world around;
This is our primary identity.

We’re Indians firstly!
We may belong to any state by birth;
Then come our language, creed, community;
We’re Indians primarily!

We’re Indians firstly!
United are we by the tricolor;
The soil is one, though states be many;
We’re Indians basically!

We’re proud of our rich our Indian heritage;
Our thirst is quenched by rivers of India;
Our hunger is appeased by crops grown here;
We’re Indians first and ultimately!

Let none dare try to sow seeds of discord;
The Indian’s free to live in any state;
When asked, let always be our reply,
‘We’re Indians firstly!

God gave one sun and moon to all of us;
We live under the sky, our common roof;
We enjoy freedom got by same ‘Struggle’!
We’re Indians all, firstly!

We’re Indians firstly!
Our patriotism is Indianness;
Our pride’s in being born as Indians;
We’re Indians first and lastly!

All Indians are our brothers and sisters;
We love our fellowmen as our brethren;
Same blood of oneness flows within us all;
We’re Indians first, always, ultimately!

India’s 63rd Independence Day – a Pledge

India is our land, our Motherland!
Sacred are the soil, water and air;
All Indians are our brothers, sisters;
We love our nation great and care.

Our nation is not rich but isn’t poor;
We love its vastness and its heritage;
We are proud to be called Indians;
We will usher a golden new age.

We love our home where we were born;
We trust in God and work for global peace;
We want amity among nations all;
We pray to God that wars may cease.

We want to live in harmony;
We want to progress very fast;
We want to help all those who need;
Our bickering is things of the past.

We will not force nor allow foes;
We toil to reach the moon and stars;
We stand united in joys and woes;
We pledge our lives for nation’s sake.

The Indian heart has love for life;
The Indian soul is kind from birth;
The Indian welcomes any strife;
The Indian brain is best on earth.

We are a nation proud and good;
We want to share our love and peace;
We brook not outside interference;
Impenetrable is our nation’s defence!
Jai Hind! Jai Bharat! Jai Indian!

Beware of Satan, the Deceiver of the World

Satan deceives the world for long
As Gospel's truth aren't known to all;
He uses Christian rituals, rites,
Doctrines and laws to delude souls!

The evil spirit Satan thus
Enters the souls afilled with sin,
Pretending as Holy Spirit,
Duping even Christians with faith.

Satan can quote the scriptures well;
He uses name of Lord and God;
The Tempter is a ‘born' Liar;
And steals souls en way to heaven.

Receive the Holy Spirit then,
By knowing Gospel entirely;
And let Him dwell within always,
Enlightening your soul with grace.

False preachers in this world abound,
Who try to interpret the Word,
By creating ‘mass hypnosis',
And making people to convulse.

Loud hymns and intonations work
Illusions, magic, transient ‘cures',
Taking the minds and hearts to heights,
As if God has anointed one.

The Bible is the Word of God;
A heart with sin can't work like Christ;
Only a soul that's cleansed off sin
Can do the things, Jesus akin.

The Holy Spirit cannot dwell
In persons who have little faith,
In sacred words that Bible tells,
And live their lives as per God's Word.

A sustained life of prayer's first,
To follow foot-steps of Lord Christ;
A soul that's kept sin-free always
Can make the Holy Spirit stay.

The Holy Spirit dwells in those
Who have repented for their sins,
Renouncing Satan's pomps and works,
And never follow his vile ways!

No human act or endeavour
Can do miracles on one's own
But grace of God, prayer-obtained,
Alone can heal afflicted men.

For grace of God, strong faith is prime;
Fasting, prayers make life sublime;
Good deeds and charity are next;
All stem from love of Jesus Christ!

God sees the minds and hearts of men;
If body must be God's abode,
It should be freed of every sin,
And stay that way until one's death.

Beware of false teachers, prophets,
Who claim to see Jesus, Angels!
For, God was never seen by man,
From ever since the world began!

Sonnet: When Trials Come …

When trials come more often than I bear,
I ask myself, “Must Christians all suffer? ”
Most worldly people appear to well fare;
“Are tribulations for purpose better? ”

“Why does God let the evil harm the good? ”
“Oh, how much longer must I endure, Lord? ”
“Do I suffer for sins of my childhood? ”
“Perhaps, my faith’s being tested by God? ”

God does not give us strife beyond limits;
He wants to make us better Christians fast;
But Satan tries to turn souls into bits;
God gives us ‘Crown of Life’ by trials vast!

When trials come, devils to us liest;
Our suff’rings aren’t greater than that of Christ!

India’s 62nd Independence Day

We celebrate an Independence Day –
The 62nd on 15th August;
But ‘All’s not well’ with India today!
Let Indians do introspection first.

Our freedom got hasn’t improved poor man’s lot!
Corruption rules the roost in many ways;
In selfish maze, most Indians are caught;
We must improve truly our global face.

Much heinous crimes are increasingly done;
Terrorism is something we must fight;
All vice in life, we Indians must shun;
Our hearts and minds must always think aright.

We ought to labor hard with new-found zeal;
The key to success is perseverance;
All inter-state wounds, we must surely heal;
The country needs much better governance.

We ought to love all Indians equally;
Caste, creed, community shouldn’t disturb peace;
Let’s take a vow to not ‘strike’ frequently;
All internecine problems should well cease.

Let’s join to build a country rich and strong;
A billion souls need food, shelter, clothing;
To fellowmen, let’s never do a wrong;
A song of unity, we must all sing.

Our country’s diversity is its strength;
United, we become a super-power;
Illiteracy must be trimmed in its length;
On leaders all, may God wisdom shower!

The freedom that we got was through blood-shed;
Most freedom-fighters sacrificed their lives;
Our patriotism should not be dead;
Let love for brethren, nation be twin-drives!

Let youngsters dream of making India proud;
Good health for all must be primary aim;
Religion, politics shouldn’t be our shroud;
Our heritage rich, bomb-culture shouldn’t maim!

Let’s sing our National Anthem with fervor;
Let’s ‘talk less, work more’ and progress with time;
Let’s pray and thank the Almighty-Giver;
Let discipline be our advantage prime!

Jai Hind! Jai Bharat! We love our motherland!

Dedicated to all patriotic Indians

Let love of Jesus Christ…

Let love of Jesus Christ
Goad you to spread the Word
Across the world to all
And gather souls for God.

Let love of Jesus Christ
Help you to sacrifice
Your life to follow Him
On the road to heaven.

Let love of Jesus Christ
Make you carry your cross
And walk in the footsteps
Of Christ to Calvary.

Let love of Jesus Christ
Serve to encounter Him
In miraculous ways
Reinforcing your faith.

Let love of Jesus Christ
Help you to realize
The aim of earthly life
Is keeping soul sinfree.

Let love of Jesus Christ
Help you to sing and pray
For conversion of souls
And that more may see God!

Moved By His Love

Moved by The Lord’s amazing Love, sent to us free from Heaven above,
Just how could it be my dear friend, that we are so quiet about the end?
Indeed about the end of every life, and everyone’s need for Jesus Christ.
Could it just be a small possibility, some in the Church don’t care to see,

There are people today my friend, who know nothing at all about the end.
While we’ve been given eyes to see, God’s amazing Truth about Eternity.
You see my friend, you and me, have been blessed by God abundantly.
And His blessing we need to share, to show all men how much He cares.

The Spirit has given us the sight, to move our hearts from wrong to right.
And men still on the wrong path, must be warned about the future wrath.
Led from the path of Decimation, unto Christ and His Glorious Salvation,
Those of us, who with sight can see, should be signs pointing to Eternity.

Friend, it can be an awesome disgrace, if Christians latch onto this place.
For us this earth is not our home, but our hearts here continue to roam.
And in our hearts, at times we lust, for the worldly things surrounding us.
This is when our lives may seem to say, earth is the place I’d rather stay.

Maybe Christ in us, men can not see, because we are living too worldly,
When we should be strangers here, while living our lives in reverent fear.
With these days so evil my friend, Christians need to focus upon the end,
So before this world ceases to be, we can point more people to Eternity.
