Sonnet: Virtues
Just when I thought I’d paid a hefty price
For honesty in life, I realized
That after all, I’d done a thing so wise,
Although the world around me criticized!
Just when I thought I’d worked too hard in life,
But never got rewarded yet enough,
God gave me awesome problems / added strife,
To make my mind and heart really tough!
Just when I thought I’d tried to practice truth
In ways exemplary, more than I ought,
God made me understand its genuine worth,
And some more battles for that sake I fought!
To live a virtuous life is great a task;
But this is what the Lord one day will ask!

The Truth
They called you a failure
They called you a lost cause
They said you would never become anything at all
The love generation, With no direction
But when I look in your eyes I see the prize yet to be claimed
[chorus]
I'll say it once, I'll say it twice
That your life was worth the price
Paid for you, Paid for me
And I believe in you
And I know you'll find the truth
I know you've been broken
'Cause I've seen the abuse
I know there's a place inside your heart begging for truth
For a soft spoken answer
That won't wake your spirit
And when I look in your eyes I see the prize that's yet to be claimed
[chorus]
I'll say it once, I'll say it twice
That your life was worth the price
Paid for you, Paid for me
And I believe in you
And I know you'll find the truth
That's not what they told you
When they said they gave up for you
And your nothing
And you'll never be anything
I wait for the day when you stand up and say
I can do all things
Through Him here who strenghtens me
[chorus]
I'll say it once, I'll say it twice
That your life was worth the price
Paid for you, Paid for me
And I believe in you
Yes I believe in you
And I know you'll find the truth
..........
Life, not just any kind of life
This is eternal life
It's easy to understand, simple to get
It's as simple as ABC (life)
A - Admit that you are a sinner and that you need a saviour
B - Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord
C - Confess your sins and committ your life to Him
D - Don't wait until tomorrow

The God of Love Speaks to Man…
I gave you hands to grasp and work
With finesse, deftly, and eat food;
I thought you'll fold your hands and pray,
And thank me for the gifts I gave!
But you use hands to hurt and kill,
And do all sinful things your way!
I gave you legs that carry you,
And stand upright and walk my ways;
I thought you'll genuflect and pray,
And thank me for all that I do;
But you tread upon evil paths
And leave my tenets, go astray!
I gave you eyes upon your face
To see the good world I had made;
I thought you'll read the word of mine,
And live your life in accordance.
But you use eyes to see the muck
That spoils your heart and mind and soul!
I gave you ears to hear sweet sounds
Of birds and animals I found;
I thought you'll hear my divine voice
And thank me for the gift of life;
But you hear noise that's deafening,
And songs that satisfy your lust.
I gave you tongue and mouth to speak
Kind words to all and love brethren;
I thought you'll eat the foods you should,
And thank me for the taste of things;
But you speak lies and blaspheme God
And eat substances of abuse!
I gave you mind to think aright,
And wonder how awesome is God!
I thought you'll keep your brain flawless,
And thank me for your reasoning power;
But you take drugs that give you highs
And waste your precious time I gave!
I gave you heart to empathize,
And feel the anguish of others;
I thought you'll have remorse for sins
And ask forgiveness from the Lord;
But your heart harbours evil thoughts
Those wreck your mind, body and soul!
Remember man, I made you out
Of clay but breathed life into it;
And gave a soul and my semblance
To know my love that's infinite;
Love made me make you with great care,
And yearns to have you back wholesome!

Eyes and Ears
They have the ears to listen, but have not a heart to hear,
The many words of wisdom, that comes from Godly fear.
They have the eyes to see, but they just cannot perceive,
That from the God of eternity, His Son they must receive.
God above gets no thought, as they live their earthly life,
And His will is never sought, so they don’t look to Christ.
Mindful not, of God’s Love, made available to everyone,
Through the Savior up above, Jesus Christ His only Son.
Christ the Truth and the Light, sent down for all mankind,
Sent to give all new sight, to renew both heart and mind,
As the hope and life of men, for a world quite depraved,
Not sent down to condemn, but that men may be saved.
And saved unto Eternal Life, granted by a loving Creator,
Set free from eternal strife, through our Lord and Savior.
To convict all, with The Word, Christ sent His Holy Spirit,
To open up a hardened heart, of those who would hear it.
Now saved by God’s Grace, then given new eyes to see,
With their heart they embrace, Christ The Lord of Eternity.
To become a living sacrifice, and give all their life to Him,
Who paid God’s eternal price, saving us from a life of sin.

Full Of You
Closer to fainting with every thought
To stay awake so hard have I fought
When thinking about your immaculacy
My heart is lifted; I fly; I am free
Free to let my mind wonder the world of my dreams
But life is better than imagination it seems
How great this would be never I knew
My life so purposed and full of you
I try my hardest and do my best
That one day I might pass your test
Then we will live in harmony
My life, a mystery, but soon you'll see
Everything I have worked to achieve
Our destinies together interweaved
To you I could never bid adieu
You have purposed my life, I'm full of you

The Clock of Life
You fought for my freedom.
I lived like a slave.
You gave your life for me.
So I could be saved.
From a life lived for myself.
More was never enough.
The things I thought made life easier.
But it just made life tough.
Keeping up with the Joneses.
Of my treasures I’d boast.
My material possessions.
Were the things I loved most.
Not the gifts that you lent me.
But the treasures I earned.
Now I see just how Satan.
Wants me to get burned.
Keep your eyes on the prizes.
Let your gifts pay the price.
For all your heart it goes into.
Holds you tight like a vice.
It will squeeze your life from you.
You’ll leave God behind.
You don’t realize that Satan.
Is robbing you blind.
Once he has taken it from you.
He will take your last breath.
And what once was a gift.
Has now become death.
He keeps you in your past.
Makes you think of tomorrow.
And this takes your today.
Time it cannot be borrowed.
For it’s all that you have.
And it is what he will take.
Til your heart is so broken.
That your spirit will break.
Life lived for your body.
Or lived for your mind.
The truths of the earth.
Keeps your spirit confined.
Your love is your time.
Your heart ticks like a clock.
And when it is over.
Your time it will stop.
When it is finished.
When you are gone.
Will your spirit die too.
Or will it live on?
Spend your time very wisely.
And in others invest.
This is what the Lord tells us.
And our Father knows best.
Live your life by your spirit.
Body and mind they will die.
One day they’ll be buried.
But your spirit will fly.

My Thoughts
Thought in the eyes,
The ears.
Thought in mind,
The brain,
Thought in heart,
The soul.
Great thought is great
when it becomes great deeds.
With my thoughts within
Building my world within
Learning with thought;
Is great learning wisdom.
Learning without thought,
Is opportunity lost.
Thought for others
Thought for God
Thought for good
Thought for God’s blessing
Thoughts teach me,
Thoughts educate me,
Thoughts clarify me,
Thoughts enlighten me.
Thoughts make me wise
Thoughts make me patience
Thoughts make me trust others
Thoughts make me clam.
Thoughts before act
Is smart and wise
Act before thoughts
Is stupid and foolish
That’s my thoughts
They make thinking clear
They make belief deepen
They make confidence high.
In thoughts, my world
In my world, make my thoughts.
In thoughts, my words
In my words, make my speech
It’s my thoughts count
Counting my thoughts
To endless counting thoughts
Thinking the thoughts endlessly
My thoughts and thoughts again.

God’s with Us – a Song Poem
I longed to earn in righteous ways;
I worked quite hard but that didn’t pay;
I cried to God to help me face,
the troubles coming, night and day.
Yet, strife came frequently in life,
And stole the hope I nurtured long;
Oh, should I turn to worldly ways?
The question vexed my heart and soul.
If heaven was my only goal,
I could not follow evil ways;
If God was watching me suffer,
Why didn’t He help me when I prayed?
I got the answer in due course –
God need not do the things we ask;
He knows what things are best for us –
We earthlings cannot comprehend!
I held to God with all my might;
Nothing in life then gave me fright;
I tried to see with divine sight;
My problems kept becoming light.
My life is now an easy task;
My soul is purer, nearer God;
God gives me everything I ask;
My soul is tuned to serve the Lord!
’Tis God who gives us every breath,
and helps us live our lives on earth;
We ought to put our trust in God,
And thank Him for His unique love.

Was It Worth It?
(tennant/lowe)
--------------------
Well I dont know why I was dreaming about you
But I do know that I was dancing without you
Then you smiled, and I was lost
You fall in love, why count the cost?
All I gave to you
All you made me do
I react when I hear people ask
Was it worth it?
Yes its worth living for
Was it worth it?
Yes its worth giving more
If Id had my way this would have happened much sooner
But until that day it was only a rumour
All at once you changed my life
And led me in to paradise
Where I had to do
What I wanted to
I react when I hear people ask
Was it worth it?
Yes its worth living for
Was it worth it?
Yes its worth giving more
I reserve the right to live
My life this way, and I dont give
A damn when I hear people say
Ill pay the price that others pay
cause its worth it
Yes its worth living for
cause its worth it
Yes its worth living for
All I gave to you
All you made me do
I react when I hear people ask
Was it worth it?
Yes its worth living for
Was it worth it?
Yes its worth giving more
And I reserve (what? )
The right to live (where? )
My life this way (how? )
I couldnt give
A damn when I (what? )
Hear people say (who? )
Ill pay the price
That others pay
cause its worth it
Yes its worth living for
cause its worth it
Yes its worth giving more
And its worth it
I dont know why
I never thought Id fall in love
I dont know why
I dont know why
I never thought Id fall in love
I dont know why
I dont know why

Friendship
My friends are amazing,
They keep my heart racing,
When I'm down, they bring me up,
They always greet me with a 'hey wassup? '
They mean to me a great deal,
The bond I have with them NO ONE will steal,
The feelings I have no one can take,
I would protect them, even put my life at stake,
I would give up my time,
I would forgive any crime,
Because they mean a lot,
And they are all I got,
I rely on them for help and support,
They give me happiness and make me giggle and snort,
They have great meaning in my life,
Although they can cause a lot of strife,
They are the people I cannot live without,
They are the people who stand by me throughout,
My friends are the ones who make you smile,
While you are going through tough things all the while.
They are awesome,
They help my life blossom,
So I can live life to the extreme,
And have fun and scream,
To live life the way it should be,
To see the world as it should be seen

I Looked All Around
I looked all around and asked: is this all there is?
What in the world do I have to give?
I looked around and I saw the beauties of the trees
And then I heard the humming of the bees.
I looked around and I saw the rivers and the streams
Then I thought- life is not what it seems.
We have four legged animals running all around
Every conceivable creature I know can be found.
We have birds of flight, with their wings of might
My oh my! What a glorious sight.
Creatures that crawl above and below the ground
Some are quiet, while others make some sounds.
Then I looked at the ocean and it was
A beautiful bluish green
A sight which had to be seen.
Then I looked up to the skies
And watched the clouds floating by.
The sun a bright yellowish white
What a beautiful sight.
I thought again: what do I have to give?
And a thought flashed through my mind
The LORD made all this beauty that I see
But the most beautiful thing he made was you and me.
He gave us a shell which we call a body
And we walk straight and tall.
Then he gave us a soul, a brain, and a heart.
And this was the start.
He told us that we could use all three
It depends on you and me.
With this he added one more thing “ choice”.
A Brain to decide which way to go
A Soul with every feeling known to man
This was all of GODS plan.
Then he gave us the Heart to store all the feelings
That the soul did hold.
What do I have to give?
The answer is plain to see
I give my love to GOD
And then humanity.

The Price
How long I have wanted
This dream to come true
And as it approaches
I can't believe I'm through
I've tried, oh I've tried
For a life, yes a life
I thought I knew
Oh it's the price we gotta pay
And all the games we gotta play
Makes me wonder if it's worth it
To carry on
Cause it's a game we gotta lose
Though it's a life we gotta choose
And the price is your whole life
Until it's gone
Time seems to have frozen
But the mind can't be fooled
As the days pass I discover
Destiny just can't be ruled
Hard times, oh hard times
For the price, yes the price
I thought I knew
Oh it's the price we gotta pay
And all the games we gotta play
Makes me wonder if it's worth it
To carry on
Cuase it's a game we gotta lose
Though it's a life we gotta choose
And the price is your whole life
Until it's gone
Until it's gone
Oh it's the price we gotta pay
And all the games we gotta play
Makes me wonder if it's worth it
To carry on
Cuase it's a game we gotta lose
Though it's a life we gotta choose
And the price is your whole life
Until it's done
Oh it's the price we gotta pay
And all the games we gotta play
Makes me wonder if it's worth it
To carry on
Cause it's a game we gotta lose
Though it's a life we gotta choose
And the price is your whole life
Until it's done

Love Fought Back
Love fought back my depression
I thought love was not aggressive
But here it is fighting back
While i sit here and enjoy a snack?
I think naught I'm strong enough for this
I will keep things from going amiss
Goodbye depression, Love is stronger than you
Sorry Mr. T but i don't pity this foo
The foo is depression dark and mindless
It can barely fight back its become spineless!
See for the last couple months I've been
Depressed committing every sin
I realize now i was just a fool
My mind simply using em as a tool
But as i sat here ever day
Writing my poems in my own special way
Because i had realized love and love had ruined me
It pushed me to the point I wasn't who i was supposed to be
So everyday i wrote my poems
Wondering if any of them would become known
for they were dark and moody and raw fear
Then i realized something i hold dear
I thought and i thought and it was strong enough
I realized then how Love was tough
See love had ruined me, Made me empty
Then i realized why not live for love let it grow stronger every day, for i had plenty
So i thought i will live for love i will fight for it everyday it will become my best
And as for depression? just forget the rest
Remember me as the one who fought
Remember me as the one who brought
love into my life and conquered my own depression
With this poem i offer my own digression
And want to be known as the on who has conquered his fear
A feat not that mighty here
But to me it is great for i am one so weak
my love will continue growing until it has piqued
Then i will confess my love yet again like i did
But the love remains to the same person i bid
my feelings to before isn't that strange?
Or is it truly love which cannot be ranged
from 0-60 like a car
But must be nourished so that i may go far
And now i leave this poem happy
still thinking myself quite sappy(^_^)
Now that i know i live for love.....
may my swings spread and fly like a majestic dove

Leaving
If you were me, what would you do
Always a lie and never the truth
Now as for me, Im movin on
Youll always be, my baby
Baby, I just gotta let you go for now
Thought I could take it for a while
Maybe youll make it back around
Baby, I just gotta live my life for now
Cant see me changin for awhile
Hope I could make it back around
Anything that I want I can get it, boy
You know you turn me on and on
Thats why I switch my frame my mind
Of bein' there when you call; always on time
Im lookin to spread my wings and party
Everything and for everybody
Need my space, no time alone
Its like our hearts dont match no more
Still anything that you want, you can get it, boy
You know I still got love for you
(In court i plead the 5th my baby)
(Chorus)
Baby, I just gotta let you go for now
Thought I could take it for a while
Maybe youll make it back around
Baby, I just gotta live my life for now
Cant see me changin for a while
Hope I could make it back around
When you was cheatin me you probably thinkin
I won't sense a thing,
But love got funny ways of catchin up to lies
Your lies can't look me straight in the eyes
Im not surprised
That you can hurt me, baby
Though why me, baby?
Just let me breathe in i'll fly freely
If you were me, what would you do
Always a lie and never the truth
Now as for me, Im movin on
Youll always be my baby
Baby, I just gotta let you go for now
Thought I could take it for awhile
Maybe youll make it back around
Baby, I just gotta live my life for now
Cant see me changin for awhile
Hope I could make it back around
Yo, yo
Why in the world would you wanna leave me, girl
Is there somethin out there
That you feel is better than what's here at home
And I know a bitch can do bad on her own
Youre not alone the way you hurt me, baby
Shit why me, baby
I feel your pain a little
But I know that love is good
And as long as I let you go
That you feel the need to come back to me, baby
Who else gon' hold you and sex you crazy
R--U--L--E
Come on back and holla at me, baby
Baby, I just gotta let you go for now
Thought I could take it for a while
Maybe youll make it back around
Baby, I just gotta live my life for now
Cant see me changin for a while
Hope I could make it back around
Baby, I just gotta let you go for now
Thought I could take it for a while
Maybe youll make it back around
Baby, I just gotta live my life for now
Cant see me changin for a while
Hope I could make it back around
If you were me, what would you do

Youll always be, my baby

All That You Have Is Your Soul
Oh my mama told me
cause she say she learned the hard way
Say she wanna spare the children
She say dont give or sell your soul away
cause all that you have is your soul
Dont be tempted by the shiny apple
Dont you eat of a bitter fruit
Hunger only for a taste of justice
Hunger only for a world of truth
cause all that you have is your soul
I was a pretty young girl once
I had dreams I had high hopes
I married a man he stole my heart away
He gave his love but what a high price I paid
And all that you have is your soul
Why was I such a young fool
Thought Id make history
Making babies was the best I could do
Thought Id made something that could be mine forever
Found out the hard way one cant possess another
And all that you have is your soul
I thought thought that I could find a way
To beat the system
To make a deal and have no debts to pay
Id take it all take it all Id run away
Me for myself first class and first rate
But all that you have is your soul
Here I am waiting for a better day
A second chance
A little luck to come my way
A hope to dream a hope that I can sleep again
And wake in the world with a clear conscience and clean hands
cause all that you have is your soul
All that you have
All that you have
All that you have
Is your soul

With A Finding Of More Life To Live
If I sat back and thought,
About those battles I fought to win...
I would never have come to appreciate,
The ability to clear my mind...
To say what was on it to get it out,
With a finding of more life to live.
And to leave if for what it is,
Without carrying the weight...
Of who became offended by my honesty.
I've learned not to burden myself,
With judgements made by others...
On my shoulders.
I've learned to acknowledge,
My back and shoulders aren't meant for that.

I'm Sorry Mom
I’m sorry mom for the things I put you through
I’m sorry mom for not doing the things you wanted me to do
I’m sorry mom for leaving you so soon
I’m sorry mom for that call you got that afternoon
Leaving you was the last thought on mind
Just like so many I guess it was just my time
I thought about you the last minutes of my life
I thought about my son and I even thought about my wife
But momma I can imagine how this must be for you
Because I see you when you are alone
When nobody else do
I don’t want you to feel so much pain
There’s really no one to blame
Tell dad to stop grieving
I see his pain as well
I almost didn’t make it
Yall know the life I live
But I had a second chance
And the Lord heard my prayer
My life wasn’t taking instance
I had time to repent
I ask the lord to wash my sins
And show me a better way
He opens up new doors for me
And here is where I stay
So tell everyone who doubted me
I made it anyway
I’m sorry mom for leaving you, without saying goodbye
I’m sorry mom for hurting you, I still see you cry
I’m sorry mom, but be happy for I got my wings its true
Something no one thought Mousey will ever do,
So the next time I see you crying it’s my wing that will be holding you
I’m so sorry mom, and I will always, always love you.

Sonnet: Abide in God
God, help me live as per Thy divine Will!
Enamored by the world, let me not live;
Let temptations not make my heart/ soul ill;
Let me for Thy sake live and my life give.
Nothing is worth living for in this world;
The righteous path is but one thing worthwhile;
And life is God’s greatest gift that we hold;
And sin which God detests, let us not pile.
What divine love gave us our human for?
Let us return that love a hundredfold,
By living life as per the Maker’s norm;
Heaven is worth all earth’s treasures and gold.
The Maker strict is kind in umpteen ways;
And soon over will be our earthly days.

Coming To Terms With Reality
maybe i was wrong,
for everything i thought,
nobody perfect,
i just wanted to excape life,
couldn't handle what god gave me,
giving up became my only choice,
until people showed they cared,
in more ways than i can say,
make me realize,
i still have more to fight,
giving up was no longer a choice,
there was other ways to go,
i just to blind to see at the time,
all i seen, was life that became unfair,
it didn't seem worth living anymore,
if you can only feel my pain,
you would understand why i thought,
the way i did,
stuck living life without a mother to guild you,
living with pain that became part of your life,
taking on so much responsitbility,
before i have a chance to experience life,
can't be like other kids my age,
force to take on more than i want,
having to be the bigger person,
can get tiring, but more and more,
i'm learning that things happen for a reason,
what the #ell is that reason?
i have no ideal,
life is one big puzzle,
there missing pieces that need to be found,
in order to understand the full picture.

Strange
Strange indeed as it may sound, Eternal God walked this ground.
Jesus had come down to the earth, through the Virgin Mary’s birth.
Strange enough, as this may be, He came to die for you and me.
He had a body prepared for Him, a body that was free of any sin.
Strange, The Lion of Judah’s Clan, came to be for all men, a lamb,
The Lamb of God from up above, sent to all by The Father’s Love.
He came to pay an awesome price, to be for The Father a sacrifice.
Christ did just what He said, when crucified and rose from the dead.
Strange the ones He came to save, thought that He was depraved.
And the people He came to set free, had The Lord nailed on a tree.
And Christ was mocked and despised, by those thought to be wise.
Strange that they couldn’t discern, scriptures that they had learned.
Strange, He came to give His life, and only received religious strife.
From religious people of the land, who with Truth didn’t understand.
Without knowledge they had zeal, that blinded men to who was real.
After His death Christ rose again, but didn’t change the heart of men.
Strange even after all the years; some men still have religious fears,
When He came to set men free, from that snare of man’s religiosity,
As we continue receiving reproof, from men opposed to God’s Truth.
Strange will soon turn into reality, when they see the Lord of Eternity.

Preoccupied
Oh, that we may be preoccupied, with the One who came and died,
To change our very present ways, for Christ’s Glory and His Praise.
Not only did He save us from sin, but, He equips us to live for Him,
In ways that we could not before, we knew Jesus Christ as our Lord,
Being Lord, is that key dear friend, as we make Christ our very end,
In everything, between now and then, as we live our life before men.
Loving Christ, with all our heart, as we finish in joy the race we start,
Living each day with thoughts of Him, by The Spirit who lives within.
We now live our life above the past, as old ways behind us are cast,
With Christ on our heart and mind, we can live beyond the old grind.
Guided by Grace from above, He fills our heart with peace and love,
We can live our new life abundantly, while we move towards Eternity.
Before, never thought of at all, Christ, in my life was less than small,
Preoccupied by things of earth, which had no lasting value or worth,
With an emptiness plaguing my heart, where Christ had not one part,
Along with darkness deep within, which was driven by a world of sin.
The empty darkness came to an end, when I meet The Savior, friend,
He filled my darkened emptiness, with the light of His righteousness.
Despite my dark and sinful past, His Light within me will forever last,
As I will remain forever occupied, eternally right by The Savior’s side.
