Sonnet: The ‘Wise’ Fool!
Your mind was busy thinking, things of own;
Your heart was not present in doing good;
Your body functioned in ways lustful known;
Your soul remained as sinful as it could!
Oh, man of experience and worldly taste!
You seem to forget God’s awesome power;
You failed to keep your body and mind chaste;
You nipped the buds before they could flower!
You never feared the God who gave you years;
Your tongue used disdainful words with freedom;
Your eyes were blind and deaf remained your ears;
Your earthly knowledge can’t become wisdom.
You never heeded scriptures divine Word!
Will God forgive your sinful past record?

The God of Love Speaks to Man…
I gave you hands to grasp and work
With finesse, deftly, and eat food;
I thought you'll fold your hands and pray,
And thank me for the gifts I gave!
But you use hands to hurt and kill,
And do all sinful things your way!
I gave you legs that carry you,
And stand upright and walk my ways;
I thought you'll genuflect and pray,
And thank me for all that I do;
But you tread upon evil paths
And leave my tenets, go astray!
I gave you eyes upon your face
To see the good world I had made;
I thought you'll read the word of mine,
And live your life in accordance.
But you use eyes to see the muck
That spoils your heart and mind and soul!
I gave you ears to hear sweet sounds
Of birds and animals I found;
I thought you'll hear my divine voice
And thank me for the gift of life;
But you hear noise that's deafening,
And songs that satisfy your lust.
I gave you tongue and mouth to speak
Kind words to all and love brethren;
I thought you'll eat the foods you should,
And thank me for the taste of things;
But you speak lies and blaspheme God
And eat substances of abuse!
I gave you mind to think aright,
And wonder how awesome is God!
I thought you'll keep your brain flawless,
And thank me for your reasoning power;
But you take drugs that give you highs
And waste your precious time I gave!
I gave you heart to empathize,
And feel the anguish of others;
I thought you'll have remorse for sins
And ask forgiveness from the Lord;
But your heart harbours evil thoughts
Those wreck your mind, body and soul!
Remember man, I made you out
Of clay but breathed life into it;
And gave a soul and my semblance
To know my love that's infinite;
Love made me make you with great care,
And yearns to have you back wholesome!

Sonnet: So, Change Your Heart Right Now
You cannot have your sinful friends for long;
You cannot be both good and bad forev’r;
You cannot sing all life, a joyful song;
You cannot ignore God as your Master.
Your worldly wisdom cannot save your soul;
You cannot sin for long without God’s fear;
Just heed your conscience; change your earthly role,
And change your heart right now, my brother dear.
God’s patience may not last for next moment;
The Maker’s rod may come upon you soon;
Give up your sinful habits and repent;
Not far off is your night without a moon!
Remember man, your soul needs care today;
Atone; repent; amend your life this day.

Sonnet: The Need for Purity of Soul
I need to be sin-free and pure of heart,
And mind, soul, body and spirit as well,
As ’tis my duty and my earthly part,
To avoid punishment in fire of hell.
I need to be a virtuous earthling,
For, God gave me a soul and so expects,
My readiness for His Second Coming,
Although my freedom always, He respects.
I need to keep my soul afilled with grace,
To get God’s blessings, favors and His gifts,
And keep my righteous path, heavenly gaze,
And get rewarded by His divine lifts.
I need to be all pure of mind and soul,
For, that’s my ultimate aim and my role.

Man Sins Without an End!
The heart of man is evil to the core;
The mind of man sinfully does some more;
The mouth of man utters words unkind, sore;
The soul of man is full of sins of yore!
For long, we’ve sinned against our Lord, our God;
For long, His patience spared us from His rod;
We’ve failed to heed or do as per His Word;
How odd that man can’t stay pure in his thought!
Our sinful habits bring us curses great;
Our suffering and strife cannot abate;
This is but our making and not just fate;
The road to heaven’s narrow; So’s the Gate!
We must agree we disobey our Lord;
We’ve failed to keep the ten Commands He gave;
When misfortune then strikes, we rant and rave;
Man alienates from His one living God!
Why do those things that will displease the Lord?
Why sin endlessly, not fearing His rod?
We heeded not to prophets sent by God;
Man’s sinfulness and habits look so odd!
Repent and reconcile for time is short!
Our sinful habits, we must now abort;
Let grace of God cleanse every human heart;
With soul all pure, we must from earth depart.
The disasters we meet, may be from God,
Perhaps reminding man of all his sins;
We must then heed to every word of His’,
So that, we may partake eternal bliss!

Sonnet- Preserve Thy Soul, O Man
Protect 0 Man, thy soul from earthly stains;
God's breath of life is immortal in form;
Death takes it across supernatural lanes,
Untouched by the Satanic Tempter- Worm.
Preserve its divine nature without fail;
Released by Death, it should unite with God;
And live forever, Divine One to hail;
Alas, if sinful, goes to Hell by rod.
Let body' needs not tarnish soul's image;
Let sinful thoughts not weaken its nature;
Let it accrue grace, turning man to sage;
Let the ‘sheep’ graze then, the divine pasture.
Our soul is eternal, ethereal;
Our body, mind are just ephemeral.

Excessive Emotions
Control your emotions:
Be it anger, love or hate;
Let it never seize your heart;
Cut it from the start!
Control your emotions:
Be it earthly or divine;
Corporeal or sexual;
Excess spells your doom!
Control your emotions:
Even if it be good or bad;
They cause upset of your mind,
Affecting your health!
Control your emotions:
Your feelings must be balanced;
Excess is bad to body;
Meditation’s good!
Control your emotions:
Perilsome’s a sinful course;
A graceless soul, steeped in sin
Is damned forever!

Lenten Season,2009
It’s Lent-time once again;
Make it a boon, not bane;
Empty your soul’s sin-bins;
Let grace of God, souls rinse!
It’s time to pray a lot;
Fasting avoids soul’s rot;
Keep off all deadly sins;
The Holy Spirit wins!
‘We know the foe in depth;
On sinful mud, we slept;
We do all sins again;
Our grace is on the wane! ’
Lent is the time to think;
Our follies, we must shrink;
Let good thoughts fill the mind;
From evil, let’s rescind.
Take care each moment then;
Let’s move nearer heaven;
Keep off satan’s rampage;
Christians have advantage.
Preserve the body pure;
Sufferings, let’s more endure;
The God, most High knows this;
He’ll give us our due bliss!
Pray every now and then;
Read Bible much often;
Read about saints on earth,
Who suffered ev’n from birth!
With God, let’s reconcile;
Sin, bitter is like bile;
Confess as many times;
Say prayers, hymns and rhymes.
Let’s win our divine war;
Heal will our soul’s sin-scar;
Lent is the time aright;
Let’s make our dark lives bright!
Forget the sinful past;
Good things alone will last;
Satan’s a mere actor;
God is the clear victor.

Sonnet: New Year Resolutions
Become the leaf from which you turned a thorn!
Go back in time, becoming your good self;
Take on traits healthy with which you were born;
Cast off those tendencies that gave more pelf!
Throw off your habits bad of yester-years;
Peel off the pachyderm of ‘make-up’ dirt;
Remove the accrued wax from outer ears;
Make up with others whom you had once hurt!
Resolve in mind to give up sinful thoughts;
Defreeze your heart of pent up emotions;
You fulgurate your body’s ugly warts;
Enhance your skills for future promotions!
Let words from mouth be courteous, kind and rife!
Let virtues take the place of vice in life!
Dedicated to those in high office who wish to turn a new leaf!

When Things Didn’t Happen As You’d Thought…
When things didn’t happen as you’d thought,
May be, the Almighty intends,
To do them in a different way,
And make you fitter for the job,
That you can’t handle anyway!
And make your mind and heart better,
And body physically well,
To take on assignments tougher,
And do them most successfully.
And give you nerves of steel-like strength,
And stamina to withstand stress,
And soul of grace to avoid sin,
And prepare yourself for heaven.
So, tune your heart, mind, body, soul,
And patiently expect all things,
For, when God does things in His way,
Nothing can go wrong any day!

Sonnet: Rededication to God
Show me O God, the things I ought to do;
’Tis better that I act as per your wish;
My desires of life could anger you;
For, man by birth remains sinful/ selfish.
You only know what for you’d made me, God;
Let me perform the roles you assign me;
Success or failure needs your divine nod;
With duty done, I see Eternity.
Restrain me Lord from doing sinful deeds;
My time is short and keeping soul pure, tough;
From birth, you cater to my earthly needs;
Just help me Lord when weather turns too rough.
My life, I surrender to you, most High;
Your Will’s my goal on earth until I die!

Mist of Sin
The mist of mortal sin
Will blind the eyes of soul, divine
From seeing things aright
And losing sight
Of mighty God,
Creating rift
That turns a vale
Or canyon deep;
Which prayers ne’er can penetrate,
Nor grace of God shower like rain
The healing touch
That soul needs much
To reconcile
In heaven’s ways,
And continue
To tread the road
That leads to God’s abode.
The sun (Son) of God
Alone can warm
The misty (sinful) air
And frozen soul,
Dispelling harm
That clouds on those
In mortal sin,
Bringing them back
To God’s embrace!

Struggles Within
Nothing good in this flesh of mine, creating havoc from time to time,
For with this heart, deceitful at best, I am wearied and seldom at rest.
Who knows the depth of my heart, from which, I would like to depart,
With wickedness deep down within, it causes me to stray towards sin.
And with my sinful darkened mind, while living this life, it’s so unkind,
Reaching way back into yesteryear, my old sinful past is always near.
Dragging up my old sinful ways; causing me pain in my present days,
Giving the enemy old things to cast; at my present life, from the past.
In this head, these wandering eyes, looking at those things I despise,
The things of lust upon this earth; things which have no eternal worth.
Straying towards those things of lust, that in time simply turn to dust,
This causes my new faith to wane, while creating in my heart old pain.
These struggles I have with my flesh, is not from God a spiritual test,
But my struggles are from within, from this body that was born in sin.
Struggles that I have day to day, when I do not let God have His way,
Allowing God to change all my life, through The Savior, Jesus Christ.
For God sends to me when I believe, The Holy Spirit, whom I receive,
Christ embraces me as His own, and changes my old heart of stone,
From all that sin I’ve been freed, with no more struggles soon indeed,
As Christ this day is preparing me, to live without struggle for eternity.

Sonnet: My Mother in Old-age
Octogenarian now, how well she writes,
My mother to me still, in her own hand!
The Scriptures, good advice, how well she cites!
Her old-aged pen serves like a fairy’s wand!
She has been doing thus for years and years;
Though old-aged, by sheer will-power she lives;
Tho’ slightly deaf and blocked by wax, her ears;
Her eyes see well! What advice she just gives!
Her only plea to me was to write back;
I used to visit her often, not now;
Of keeping children good, she had the knack;
She is my mother great who has such love.
God give her health of body, mind, I pray;
Indeed, she is my mother sweet, I say.

Sonnet: Soul-wise Advice
Cut off the thought, O man, if bad for thee!
Thine soul is more important than body;
Cut off the branches, vicious trunk wholly;
How long can sin give joy just like toddy?
Cut of the sinful habits haunting thee;
They devastate thine life on earth and soul;
Cut off their roots and all of them fully;
They sprout to cause havoc just like the ‘mole’.
Avoid the environs that promote sin;
Indulge in holy thoughts and do good deeds;
Empty thy heart and soul’s sinful bin;
And raise good crops for sowing virtue’s seeds.
Renounce the devils or you land in Hell;
Trust in the Lord and all things will be well.

Sonnet: The Human Soul
Unseen, the soul of a man lies within,
Like the mighty hands that created him;
The Maker expecting it back sans sins,
Had filled the human skull with brain to brim.
On returning, the Soul’s state must be pure,
Or else, it shall not enter Heaven’s gate;
Its venial sins Purgatory will cure;
But mortal sins get it the Hellish fate.
So, lose your limb or eye if cause of sin;
To the lame or blind, God would give Heaven;
The sinful body, leads thee to hell’s door;
And wholesome yet, to the Inferno’s core.
Taint not by thyself with sinful ways/ misdeeds;
Grown not in the soul, saplings of sinful weeds.

Sonnet: Show Me …
Show me a hand that’s scarred by giving alms;
Show me an arm that helped others life-long;
Show me a face of greed that always calms;
Show me a voice tired by divine song.
Show me a foot that’s lame, walking with God;
Show me a tongue pale, speaking holy words;
Show me a soul that fears not God’s just rod;
Show me an eye blind that loves killing birds.
Show me a knee, pained by genuflection;
Show me a soul upright that fears its loss;
Show me body weak by meditation;
Show me a shoulder burdened by Christ’s cross.
Show me a heart gone small, loving brethren;
Show me a mind tired seeking Heaven!

Sonnet-How Can You See God?
How can you see God with your human eyes,
When mind keeps seeking worldly pleasures more?
How can you see God when you're worldly-wise,
And selfish, sinful, evil to the core?
How can you see God with your soul impure,
Ignoring Conscience that tells whats right?
How can you see God with heart immature,
And eyes that see but can't discern His Light?
How can you see God in all Nature's forms,
When human eyes can't see the God within?
How can you see God without Life's great storms,
with heart afilled with oft-done mortal sin?
The man with heart and soul holy sees God;
Deceiving ones will get Almighty's Rod.

An Earnest Prayer to God
God, rule my tongue, my works, my thought;
God, rule my mind, body, and heart;
God, rule all gifts from You I got;
God, rule my will, forget-me-not.
God, rule all things, my every part;
God, rule my actions from the start;
God, rule my soul, guide it with art;
God, rule my life till I depart!

Sonnet: Have Mercy on him, Lord
Preserve this soul, Almighty God, I pray:
A person known to me in life on earth;
Forgive his iniquities, sins, this day;
Prepare his soul to gain eternal mirth.
Ignore his blatant lies by habit made;
Have mercy on this gentleman somehow;
Remind the good things done and taxes paid;
Forget his foolish thoughts and acts, right now.
Perhaps, the world had paid him in same coin;
His wealth, ill-gotten will remain on earth;
May be, he wore a chain of gold for loin;
Forget his trespasses, Lord, since his birth.
Give him another chance to cleanse his soul;
Show lenience on his failed divine role.

Sonnet: My Plea to God
O free me God from shackles that bind me,
Preventing my movements towards Thine way;
The burden on my shoulders is heavy;
The justice which I seek remains at bay.
How can I watch atrocities on men,
Perpetrated by men in power/ pelf?
How can I stay on in a lion’s den?
I want to be a good human myself.
O free me God from bondage urgently;
I can’t collude in vices, sinful deeds;
Arrest my heart, mind, body soul gently,
If You can’t fulfill all my human needs.
Allow me God, to function in good ways;
To live in righteousness and spend my days!
